Yummy cheeseburger! Will definitely fill you up. Chips are very tasty and great crunchy outside/soft inside balance.
Fish is fine tasting but only measly 'tender'-sized pieces of heavily battered fish.
Bit slow to get food.
Drinks good. Lovely staff. Not too busy. Comfy booths. I would come back.

Went there for the $10 lunch. Steak was awful, full of cartilages, which broke my front tooth.|The manager that day saw it and said the general manager will get in contact with you. 5 weeks later no responds to my e mails, call are not exciting and when I went in to get my money back they said, sorry no can’t do that |Cost me now thousands of dollars to replace the tooth.

Went in for the 10 dollar steak and pint, lovely girl Liv behind the bar was really helpful and hilarious with amazing service! Food brought over by another lovely backpacker (I believe called Elise)! 10/10 food for the price. Would definitely recommend!!!

Went for a meal with friends. Drinks and food reasonably priced. Meal service was slow,well over 30 minute wait, and whilst most meals were fine one was definitely not. However it took a further lengthy wait to address and eventually rectify this situation. Not on the revisit list.

We had try some Irish ciders here. Lady staff was very friendly.
The bar is situated very close to Central shopping.

We came to the Croc Bar with my partner, and the service and food were amazing. Also, the girls who were at the bar were super friendly with us, especially the girl from Denmark. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed
Was quite good before and after COVID has become very average
The burger is the same meat??? As the strange meat balls
Which were never meat anyway just filling with meat flavor
Maybe the$10.00 steak is still a maybe depending on the night
Is still OKAY but tough
I would not recommend this place for a good meal just a fill up if you are down on your time's

This place is definitely an experience. Go to check out the carved wood crocodile bar if that’s your thing. Staff were lovely, I didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food.

The pub is nice but some staff are really unfriendly and give such poor customer service that makes you feel like you will never come back.

Returned toThe Grand today to have a $10 lunch steak with friends as I had enjoyed it when I was there a few weeks ago with my hubby. As I have dietary issues I had ordered the steak without the chips or gravy as I cannot eat those, and instead asked for a little extra coleslaw. Last time it was all good and not a problem at all and we enjoyed the little meal.||Today it was a totally different story due to the manager and her tightwad mentality. Apparently.... despite dropping off the chips and gravy, I was asking far too much to get a little extra scoop of coleslaw. I was told that they "don't make any money on those cheap steaks" so was the reason she thought a little additional coleslaw to replace the chips and gravy was excessive. So... the meal I was expected to have now was to be a tiny steak with a tiny bit of coleslaw.... that's what she was offering unless I paid extra! Its not ok apparently to pay the same price as others getting a full meal, but I only was getting half a meal unless I paid more?||She didn't seem at all interested when I shared that they did indeed make considerable money in the long run, as I had returned today with 2 friends as I had a good experience last time. So they had already made about $50 additional today alone, just because of a good experience last time and now bringing friends back. And... we would have returned at least monthly and usually have others with us each time.... but not now! ||So hun.... you left a LOT OF MONEY on the table today, because of your refusal to give at least a decent sized meal!||So thanks to this hostile, rude, unfriendly and unaccommodating manager, we definitely won't be returning regularly as initially planned because she thought it unreasonable to offer a decent amount of salad in exchange for chips and gravy... bet you'd be happy if this was your business! NOT!!!

Ordered the $10 steak. Tasted great, pepper sauce was awesome. Unfortunately the steak was like jerky and the chips were a flavour of disappointing that i couldn’t put into words. The slaw closed the deal though with a decent flavour and was fresh.

Nice bar with friendly staff. The steak with chips is the cheapest in the city and fair enough, good coleslaw salad and delicious chips. Three options of sauce all of them good enough.
It is definitely recommended to go with friends and have some beers with no hurry for the food. At night many people go so you will have to wait, but the staff will let you know how long… sports, good music and location, gambling for those who like it, and good food… it worths to go…

My only criticism is the location , 2300 km from Sydney !! the $10.00 steak lunch’s are incredible value the daily specials for beer is a welcome surprise as well thank you very much

I had the $10 steak rare and couldn't chew it so disappointed.
I ordered Garlic bread that was not put on the order and was asked what drink I wanted like it was a deal with a drink my $10 steak turned into $18 meal.
As for the grumpy manager you need to look up the definition of customer service maybe even do a course to learn how to offer that. Seriously your in hospitality and ever encounter I've had with you has been less than acceptable. Not to mention there is always new staff so I guess you have a lot to learn.
I would suggest the owner re think his choice obecause your rude arrogant and have no idea

Great prices! Got a steak, chips and salad for $10!!! Beer on tap selection is a bit limited but they have lots of bottles. Great atmosphere and service too!

Great location. Unfortunately was called a c@% in pokies room by very unsavoury women. Went outside for a ciggie and asked if I could use a stool the man barked at me someone was sitting there. 20 mins later no one came to sit there. If these are locals then I seriously think the management should consider where there money is coming from. The man then continued to glare at me like I was a leper that certainly wasn't welcome.

Every Friday a bunch of us go in for the $10 steak. For this money you get a 200g steak, coleslaw and chips. The steaks are always cooked as ordered and they are rarely tough, and in the case it is tough we all look at each other and say "it's at $10 steak". Other than that, beer is cold, staff friendly and a great atmosphere.

Don't understand the negative reviews. The place has a great atmosphere at lunch. The 10$ rump is excellent value. I don't understand the reviews expecting it to be the quality of a 50$ steak. Ive had it 3 times so far on my visit and ill have it many more before I leave. Yes it's a little tough, but it's amazing - just like cairns.

Delicious pub meal. $10 steak chips and coleslaw was delicious. Amazing value. Big eaters may want to order two, but I found it perfect size. Cheeseburger and chips also very good ($19). Bar specials included $4 Millers Chills. Good kids menu too. Highly recommend for a cheap and cheerful family dinner.

Been to the restaurant with two friends, we all ordered the 10$ Steak. We had to wait for 45 min until we got the food. I ordered mine well done and it was overcooked, my friends ordered medium rare and one was good the other was well done (less than mine). My steak was half the size of the other ones and honestly if it wasn't for the very cheap prize, I would have sent it back immediately. Wouldn't go again.

After Ordering a Drink after a long day after work and shortly after paying for the two drinks I was informed by a rude bar manager that I can only have one at a time. If that is the Government rule then they Broke the law by acepting payment for two drinks at the same time. The Coustomer service has really gone down hill in the last 30 Day's the New staff need to be trained with better coustomer service skills skills!

1st time I visited the Grand what a great experience. Called in for a bite to eat ordered a $10 200gm rump with chips and slaw with a egg and bacon 🥓 topper $7 extra absolutely lovely apart from steak and chips 2eggs and 4-5 rashers of bacon a great counter meal washed down with a couple ice cold beers. Wife had flattytails a chips thoughly enjoyed. Tab gaming room outside eating area wonderful food and service. A few other eateries in Cairns could take a leaf out of the Grand Hotels book . Well done to all .

$10 steak deal is nice and cheap with cold dry chips and barely warm sauce the meat was tough unevenly cooked, cold and full of fatty grissle. I didn't even take the uneaten steak back to my dog for fear of food poisoning. Unprofessional staff who are pushy in the pokie room and grumpy in the front. I won't be back.
I am not the type to send it back. My mistake for being cheap
I guess you get what you pay for. I had a $10 coleslaw with a good looking but uneatable steak and chips.
