Went for nostalgic reasons as used to go with my aunty many years ago. Unfortunately it’s gone down hill. Needs a good clean inside and out. Lovely pictures showing the history of the hotel. They have preserved stained glass windows etc which are beautiful.

We had a meal here recently that wasn’t exactly what I’d expect for 90 dollars steak was cold chips where undercooked and the Parma was bland and all the bread crumbs where falling off it when we brought it to the attention of the stuff the women who was serving us got very defensive straight away. after she did offer us two drinks for the poor meals we declined and where slightly annoyed at the thought that a 8 dollar drink would suffice over what was a 90 dollar meal at any other pub it would be money back in pocket or atleast half of what you paid

We got taken in by the history of the place online. However, when we stepped inside our expectations dropped. The decor is just old and shabby. The menu is nothing inspiring but as travellers we were keen on bangers & mash and chicken schnitty. Couldn’t go wrong with the basics. How wrong we were. Very disappointed. Over priced low quality food and service.

Visited for lunch on a Thursday at 1pm. Two steaks on menu porterhouse and eye fillet . Well... waiter says when we wanted to order eye fillet at $53 each...sorry we have run out. We have steak sandwiches though... what on earth is happening a hotel can 'run out' 1 hour into service. Of such an item on main menu. . What we ordered was nice..but not the point.

This would have to be the best hotel on the Mornington peninsula. The food is excellent and well priced. The staff are very friendly and professional. The atmosphere is great. It is the first time that we have been there and we will continue to go there regularly from now on.

My partner and I go to The Grand almost every Monday Tuesday and then go on weekends Friday nights, whenever we have a chance. We play a lot of pool there and have dinner too. It's great?

I was very happy with the service provided for my large group of people. They were very easy to book with over the phone, and the staff made an effort to bring out all meals around the same time. I highly recommend for anyone visiting Mornington area!

It was ok, wouldn't say great, or no wow factor. Sunday lunch around 1230, was fairly packed but we got seated (appreciated). Was fairly close to other diners and I felt there covid density quotas were prob exceeded on the dining floor, but push on. Food: Satay chicken entree- good size, average taste. Chicken schnitzel- again ok, veg a bit dry and no offering of any sauces. Side of mashed potato was good. Special board is up on the south wall, no mention of that to I noticed it after we ordered. 20 min wait time to receive food. Overall, average...good serving size, but food quality a little average, again with no wow factor. After 1pm the line to order was constantly long. If you go there, check the hallway to the back door and toilets for some great historic pics of the area.

I'm just finding that everywhere we go, softdrink, beer & sprites are becoming bloody ridiculous and expensive for families. I really wonder what will become of the pubs, restaurants, and cafes in Victoria with the costs of doing business, especially with the new covid credit card repayment for business and people that happen to have a investment property. Where is it going to end?.

Had a quick lunch today and it was lovely. Nice to have somewhere to eat where it's not too noisy with background music.

everything was good except the service in the dining room. The servers just stood around glaring at our group, the whole time we were there. very unattentive, miserable looking young girls. their attitude towards our group was enough for everyone to notice. each time we ordered food , it was like we were interrupting their group chat. Food was great although not dished up at the same time, which was disappointing. Large toilets which accommodated our disabled guests . parking around the back but large amount of steep steps that made it really hard for elderly and disabled to access from that side.

Early family Xmas lunch. Everyone enjoyed the meals. Menu has good variety of food to cater from young to old. Only a small dessert menu but what was there was good.

Been here several times. Great all round pub with good meals that came out quickly. We made it just in time before the kitchen closed too. Totally enjoyed my Mediterranean Salmon from the specials board including the garlic bread with cheese, beautiful flavours.

A lovely old pub we have been to many, many times during the years since the 60's. Went for lunch today with my Mum, lovely meals and staff were friendly. The only downside trying to get in and out by the heavy front entrance with a wheelchair is a struggle and especially when female staff member ignore or not notice anyone having difficulty opening the doors. I think it time for an automatic door, don't you.

A grand old building newly refurbished. Meal was good for a pub. Staff had a problem with not looking at the customer's, seemed too busy to actually get to take an order. Place opens for meals at 6pm. As first ppl in there it was 6.20 before orders taken. By 8pm the place was very busy. Pork schnitzel and chicken schnitzel were both tasty, great chips and the salad was pleasant. Sticky date with cream, seniors size was more than enough to finish a lovely moderate priced meal. Get the service right and this will be a much better experience.

3.6 out of 5. This is an historic old pub in the middle of the Mornington shopping strip. Our expectations were fairly low after seeing the inside of the place which is rather 90s and looking a little shabby. The lunch meal was pretty good though. I had the pork roast which was tasty with nice meat and vegetables. Eating here is a reasonable option.
