What an outstanding culinary surprise with fabulous atmosphere. Celebrating my partner’s birthday lunch we were both blown away by the wide selection of taste delights available. The chef has gone above & beyond “pub meals”. Arguably one of the best meals we have both had, amazing choice, some risk of flavours, but dang the result = & pure mouth watering joy. The score achieved is nothing less than 20 out of 10 !!!! The quantity did us hearty eaters in & it was certainly “value for money”. Highly recommend.

Went here on Sunday for lunch and was totally surprised. We had lunch in the outside court yard under the shade of the frangipani. All the staff were fabulous with great service A good choice of food on the menu and all well presented and tasty. Well worth a meal at this historic hotel.

We have our 29th wedding anniversary dinner here was so nice relaxing the waitress must have only just started she thought we had only asked for a half dozen oysters but we hadn't we asked for a Dozen so she made haste back to the kitchen to get the second lot of oysters she was very sorry & we had no issues at all you have to start somewhere right the food came out very quickly & was super hot & very tasty we will definitely be back again thanks for the great hospitality

We had a good Ole bar lunch and it was great.
Enjoyed the mushroom and steak pie and a chicken schnitzel and of course a nice cold ale. Outdoor dining was beautiful.

We had a delicious lunch here today. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our food was great. Hubby had the chunky pie float which he really enjoyed and I had the poke bowl which was so full of different flavours. Both inside and outside areas are lovely. Will definitely be back here again next time we are in Bowen.

We eat here regularly. The food is good. The location and parking is good. The venue is nice. But the food counter staff are regularly rude. Service is often slow too. Such long waits just to get a drink even if its barely busy. We came with a group of 10 people to show them our local spots as they are thinking of moving to Bowen but they were disappointed. Multiple errors were made on different orders which was inevitable because it was quite obvious the lady taking our order had no interest what so ever. No smile. When she brought out the food and we pointed out the errors, she literally gave us eye-rolls and then didn't even let us explain what the errors were before she walked off, resulting in more errors. She must have had a whinge to her co-worker because then her co-worker walked past and scoffed at our table!!?? When everyone was finished and one of the orders still had not been fixed, one of us went to the counter to get our money back which we were at first told that they were too busy to organise that. Eventually a manager was able to speak to us. The manager was lovely! It's a shame the food service girls had such a poor attitude. We dined at the other pubs for the rest of their stay.

Visiting Bowen on way from Gold Coast to Cairns. Staying at Port Dennison Motor Inn and Marnie recommended dinner at Grand View. Great meals and really friendly bar staff. Great history as well

Very nice pub , comfortable and welcoming.
Different seating areas. With a nicely decorated restaurant area with table service at the back.
Steak and roast vegetables was delicious. Very pleasant atmosphere.
Well air conditioned . And the piped music plays 1970’s and 1980’s music quietly in the background.
Staff very friendly and helpful.

Understandably that today is Easter Saturday and the pub was very busy , but after asking at 40 minutes how long would our meal be, then to be told it maybe another 10.. It took 70+×× minutes for Fish, Chip and a pasta dish is really poor service. When my daughter finally started to eat, the pasta it had broken plastic in it, Again poor form...The staff were less then give a toss attitude about the wait and the plastic in the meal .. left and will not visit again for awhile .. Very Disappointing

This place is Gorgeous! The spotless, rustic, theme - Gorgeous! The service team - Gorgeous! And the food - So Gorgeous! And to top it all off; a curtesy bus with a gorgeous driver. I cannot recommend the Grandview enough! Great work Team 💖 Well done!

This is a local pub with local people and you find a typical pub menu. You've got the choice between burgers seafood schnitzel salad well pretty much everything you want. The service is friendly, the food was very fast and nicely prepared. For me personally I would have liked a little more seasoning but otherwise everything was nice. On the telly you have dog and horse races with all your betting options if you like.

The food came out incredibly fast!
My partner and I had the prawn entré with the mango sauce. This was divine!
And had two pastas for mains, and crepes for dessert. Everything was lovely. Staff was super friendly as well.

Ordered the Pork Belly which looks great but was dry I didn’t enjoy the flavour. The chicken wings very nice.
Service was friendly however I felt overall lacked attention. Had to call staff over to order more drinks, our bill was misplaced when we went to settle.

Nice spot for lunch with a view of the ocean in the distance. Friendly staff and lovely, airy decor. Sat inside as it was too hot, however the garden bar outside looked nice. Only feedback would be that I couldn't get a coffee to finish lunch. I was sent into the Gaming area to get it myself, and then had to balance it while trying to get through a heavy door to get back into the restaurant. Food was good though.

Nice place to go for food. It’s set out is lovely. Plenty of seating . The outside seating is very pleasant and Just watch out for the tree . It’s in outside seating area . We saw so many people come close to banging their head. Prices reasonably. Friendly staff. Toilets were Yes worth a visit . Plenty of car parking .

My recent visit to Grand View Hotel left me with mixed feelings. While the look and outdoor atmosphere along with customer service were exceptional, the food fell short of expectations.
Upon arrival, my friend and I decided to sample a variety of appetizers. We opted for different selections to try a wider range of dishes. Unfortunately, none of the appetizers lived up to the standard we had hoped for. Despite our varying choices, we both found the quality extremely lacking.
However, I must commend the wonderfu look of the hotel. The ambiance was delightful, with a charming setting both inside and outside. The inside, although not what I expected, was cozy and inviting. However, it was a bit loud and rowdy, which was somewhat surprising. On the other hand, the outside area boasted beautiful views and a secondary dining area was available inside but still very loud.
The server was fantastic, attentive, and courteous. Despite a minor hiccup where part of our order was forgotten, it was quickly rectified without any hassle.
In summary, while the service and atmosphere were highlights of my visit, the food was a major letdown and we will now be getting something else. I would recommend this restaurant for its excellent service and picturesque views, but I would advise against setting high expectations for the food. If you're looking for a dining experience focused on service and ambiance rather than culinary dining.

Monday night chicken schnitzel special, $20 with wine or a beer, absolutely delicious. Every part of the dish was exceptional. Best pub feed in a long time. Highly recommend.

I was very satisfied with this place. I did not expect much but it was good value for money. We had chicken schnitzels with fries and gravy and ailoli dip. I also liked the atmosphere and interior. Staff friendly. Quick service. We were able to eat there without any booking (Sat evening, AFL final). Recommended. (Visited Sep 22)

Good pub grub, just what you would expect from a well run pub. Service was good, beer garden is dog friendly (the sleeper spikes are great for tying the dogs down).

Giving one star, and none was not an option.
Honestly the worst meal we have had in a long time.
We were quite excited to order the brisket sanga, given the fantastic looking smoker in the back garden.
When the sanger arrived, the excitement departed!
This meat was the most anaemic looking excuse for beef I have ever experienced.
To say it was ineatable would be kind, you could not chew through it with grandad's mechanical falsies!
Clearly the lovely looking smoker in the beer garden is nothing more than a theatrical prop!
To top it off, we gently let two separate staff know the product of their kitchen, one ignored us, the other just smiled and giggles.
If you're planning to support a local pub, choose one that serves something you can actually consume

During our recent visit to this hotel, we decided to try out their dining options by ordering five of the highly recommended appetizers. Unfortunately, our experience fell far below expectations.
Starting with the cheesy spring rolls, they were barely edible, probably the best out of everything, but still only deserving of a three out of five rating. The chicken wings were a complete disappointment, as they were laden with feathers, making them inedible. We attempted to salvage some pieces for the flavor, which was decent, but the overall quality of the chicken was a dismal one out of five.
Moving on to the pork belly sliders, they were more like burnt belly sliders, as the pork belly was completely charred. Despite the bun and other accompaniments being fine, the burnt pork was a major letdown. The smoked beef brisket sandwich with Smith crisp chips was also a hard pass, as it was downright disgusting.
As for the Indian chicken banana wafers, the taste was acceptable, but the appearance was unappealing, to say the least. The atmosphere of the restaurant was a major disappointment, earning a zero-star rating. While the location looked beautiful and the service was commendable, the loud drunkenness from the adjacent bar significantly detracted from the overall ambiance. The only positive aspect was the ability to choose the music played.
In summary, while the service and location showed promise, the subpar food quality and unpleasant atmosphere left much to be desired. Overall, our dining experience at this hotel fell short of expectations.

Called in for lunch on a Sunday, staff were amazing and friendly, managed to get a table outside on a beautiful day! The food was absolutely sensational 10 out of 10

Beautifully maintained historic hotel with impeccable table service and delicious yet original flavours as well as typical pub favourites for less adventurous eaters. I couldn't understand why it wasn't packed out for Saturday lunch! Prices excellent for the top quality received.

As usual 300 rump medium rare pepper sauce. Seems to be a surcharge to pay by card which is good. So take cash drinks aren't cheap

A great experience- we went on an "off day" but the food was still delicious however, some locals who have been multiple times declared this was not the usual. The menu is fantastic, we were lucky enough for a kids eat free menu and the meals were still yummy all round. Probably some of the best in bowen
