😄👍 Wow!! Looking swish since reopening. Really great atmosphere in each area, from the bar, the lounge and the bistro. We caught live music here tonight & enjoyed really tasty meals of pizza, risotto and fried chicken wings

We ordered three meals for lunch to cater for two. Ordered from the table via QR code with table service, 15 minutes. The decor is middle of the road. We ordered the Nepalese Dumplings with a peanut/tomato chutney. Serve of 6 was $16. Taste was great however the texture suggested they were not adequately steamed. We also had the Salt and Pepper Squid. Generous serve of aioli and side salad. Texture of the squid was soft on the inside with good crumb. At $19 the portion size was a little under. The Moroccan Pumpkin Salad was great. Quinoa, seeds and spinach leaves $14. Good serving size. This meal was adequate, though I would not seek this out again as a venue of choice. This might be one of the last remaining pubs that serves lunch and has a good selection of tap beers in the east end which is probably why it survives.

We had a lovely lunch and drink in a relaxing atmosphere, The staff were very attentive and friendly. Was surprised at the low number of people taking advantage of such a find in the top end of Newcastle. A quick walk to Queens Wharf, Nobby's Beach, Fort Scratchley or you can catch a tram downtown.

Took ages to even find a staff member to serve on a quiet day. Got the fish taco lunch special and there was barely enough fish for one taco but somehow they thought it would cover 3? Photo was the largest piece of fish.

Something with their system accidentally messed up (totally understandable!) and accidentally charged my card twice (bartender said this never happens!) and the bartender sorted so quickly and gave me a refund so promptly! Highly recommend this pub, best espresso martini I’ve ever had! Was so reassuring

Pub looked good, service was good, food was very average. I had lasagna which had been microwaved and was petrified at the edges but cool in the middle. My husband had the spaghetti bolognese which was also luke warm. Music bingo started up before we started our meal and was way too loud, sound system feedback was awful. We ate and ran.

Not many options open on a Monday long weekend so the pub was the first choice. Not a bad atmosphere and the staff were pleasant. Up market pub food so the parmigiana was the choice of the night. Not too bad. The salad was a nothing fancy and the lettuce was a little limp. The chips were good, crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle. The parmigiana was a generous size. Crunchy coating, chicken well cooked and not dried out and the cheese and toppings was a nice layer on top. Please clean the floors around the bar. Very sticky. Not a bad experience and good value for money.

Nicely renovated pub, close to the foreshore and the mall. $16 lunch specials Monday to Friday. The chicken schnitzel was delicious. Friendly, efficient service.

It was a nice place with a good atmosphere. I ordered the Cesar Salad but the lettuce was soft and the croutons were stale. Considering that bread is cheap or packet ones in their case I don't think there's much excuse for that. Anyway it was ok in all but I won't go there again.

It’s okay, got the cauliflower bites and it was just like…. half a head of cauliflower with pesto, it was supposed to Szechuan but whatever I guess Gluten free pizza was actually really good. it’s better than it was in the 90s lol, wouldn’t have brought my parents there back then.

Had a couple of meals over Easter weekend while visiting family. All the staff were lovely, the premises are modern and clean. All the food was great and the chicken schnitzel was best ever. Seriously. I had vegetables instead of chips and salad and they were cooked perfectly. Kudos also to bar staff, would have thought a lemon lime and bitters could be so good?

Great venue, relaxed atmosphere, nice range of beer and fully staffed. We had the chicken schnitzel with green saute vegetables and roasted chat potatoes, absolutely delicious, highly recommend. Probably the best CS I've ever eaten. Steak was tender and perfectly cooked, with crispy chips and a lovely side salad. Prices were very reasonable as well compared with other restaurants nearby

Good place for catching up with mates outdoors and indoors. The hotel offers buy one get one steaks every Tuesdays but you have to cook it yourself. I have the picture of the menu and we ordered rib eye 400grams which is more than enough for one person. They use to offer the buy one get one before without buying a drink but now you are only able to get buy one get one when each individual buys a drink. The price is ok for drinks but if you dont like alocohol or juice you can order a bottled water or they also have a tap water but you wont be able to get the offer without buying drinks. They have a salad bar which is unlimited so you can come and go.please see pictures below.

Dropped in for dinner on a Monday night. A comfortable relaxed Monday vibe, having never been here before I poked around and found a cracking old school lounge with big couches and a pool table. Barman recommended the steak sandwich so I sit back with a cold beer, eagerly awaiting my meal! TBC
