You can enjoy the nice bar and bistro service here, just try to ignore the arogant bouncers that work here. The veggie stack that they served here was awesome but now it has dissapeared off the menu, the only other real vegan-able dish was unable to be made due to lack of ingredients. Having to settle for chips was unfortunate, but hopefully the veggie stack returns.

Wouldn't accept the entertainment book correctly and even the manager was unhelpful. If you don't want to have it and honor it correctly don't go in it. Food was ok but service was average and the prices were too high for the quality. Won't be going back even if they were to have a discount again.

Would it be too much trouble for the girls behind the bar give us a smile or hello. Ordering a drink from them is like inconveniencing them. When they get your order wrong it's like you must of said it wrong. Drop the attitude and pour the drinks.
Asking for a receipt is like asking for a kidney huffing and puffing finally got one but not without knowing I was an inconveniencing them yet again.

Whilst it's out of their hands, the mobile reception is awful here, some wifi would be an excellent addition. Food is excellent but drinks are over priced in comparison to the area.

While every other bouncer we came in contact with was extremely polite and friendly, there is one who has a chip on his shoulder and on a power trip. Other than that the rest of the staff are great, crowd was great and prices are typical fare at a suburban hotel.

What a let down, the schnitzel was cold, the gravy was watery, tables an absolute mess. The place smelt of vomit and had kids running laps around our table.
First and last time we will be going.

What a fantastic venue, very comfortable relaxed atmosphere to meet friends and fsmily. Very well established set up & great for all types of entertainment, watch your favourite stops and live events, sports bar has heaps of screens and the restaurant/ bistro is fantastic and great value. Right up there as the best pub in the Shire.

Went to Gymea Hotel for lunch and it was great. The staff on at the time were very nice and down to earth. Definitely one of the better hotels in the Shire

Went there for lunch. My friends and I ordered steak for lunch. For $10.90 our steaks were cooked to the way we ordered it. Food very nice for the price

Went here on a Saturday night. Was reasonably quiet (very quiet compared to say a year ago). It was absolutely so stuffy in there I'm talking sweating bullets, no air-conditioning or fans whatsoever.
Drinks were a little over average and food was on the higher average price range for a pub.
Staff seemed very nice and relaxed however.

Went for lunch with 12 people with special needs. The staff went out of their way to ensure they enjoyed themselves. The food was great as well

Went for a quiet dinner one evening mid-week & sat in the open air dining area, which we expected to be quiet.
Our meal was regularly disrupted by loud announcements over the audio system, of a game being played in the front bar.
If I wanted to hear the game, I would have sat in the front bar.
Don't expect to see me there again.

We had a nice, quiet lunch here last weekend. The place was empty, with only a few diners. When we walked in, their friendly staff greeted us and were keen to make us feel welcome, which is always a nice.
The tables had a barcode so we could scan through the menu and order on our phones. I hate to say it, but I love doing this as it's so convenient and it's the best when you have a fussy toddler clinging on to you.
The steak menu was a little pricey for a local pub, but they did a great job with cooking it. Our recommendation would be the seafood platter! At $90, it's absolutely a big bang for your dollar!
A hidden gem, so good that we didn't want to reveal this secret because surely people are going to flock here for the seafood platter!
You get a mouthwatering tower of fish, chips, prawns, oysters, crab legs, and bugs. Why are they called bugs? that doesn't sound appealing, but they were delicious here!
When we went for a little walk around, we saw they had carpark on their site. How convenient! We'll definitely be back! Also loved how every single staff was helpful, attentive and seem to enjoy their job!

We had a great night at Gymea Pub this evening. The food was delicious - one of the best schnitzels I have had. My husband was equally impressed with the spareribs. Good portions. Great value. We were there on Open Mic night and had a fabulous time watching One Foot in the Groove rock the house! Their set was the best of the night and they had the audience enthralled! Loved it!

We had a good time in the Bistro. We all (teens and adults) enjoyed our meals and discovered they have some excellent discounts on some nights of the week. The woman who took our orders was friendly and helpful and the food came out quite quickly. There were 5 dollar beers on tap so all up we thought the food was good value and tasty and the service was efficient and friendly.

We had a family dinner which involved a group booking of 20. The menu accomodated everybody’s preferences. Special mention to Kate who was exeptionally friendly and helpful. Everything went smoothly and the food was of high quality.

We had a bad experience with a woman working there (possibly manager?)
She was a very large woman with glasses and a tattoo of a scorpion on her elbow (among others).
We had just arrived and she immediately threatened to kick us out for not using a coaster (no coasters on table). We did nothing wrong, were polite, and were insulted and threatened for no reason.
We didn’t come to your pub on a sunday to be intimidated by you on your high horse in your false position of power.
Next time show some basic human decency to the patrons who are there to spend their money. Plenty of other pubs in the shire we could have chosen!
Remember, even if you are having a bad day - there are always repercussions for your actions.
Will be informing the owners of the pub of your behaviour.

We go to this venue quite a bit it holds a big crowd there's never much of a lineup for the bar or the food so it's great place to get in have some fun and get out.

Was keen to get back here after long absence. My how its changed and for the worst. No smiles, no customer service. Trying to order food and was pointed back and forth where to order from. Should have taken the hint that there weren't many patrons . Kids meals came out first as we are custom to and were happy with. But then we waited for our meals, my wife spied them on the counter but there wasnt calls of order up or a ding of a bell. I wanted to go over an ask but my wife said wait. So I did and went to the toilet and was sure they would be out. But no....so I went to ask. After awhile it came out 10mins after. Chicken snitz was ok, but my wife's medium steak not an ounce of pink. Hard tough to cut or chew. Certainly not worth the $28 paid. If that was medium I hate to see well done would the whole thing be charcol Black? she never douses her steaks in sauce but to give the steak moisture she tipped the whole sauce on. I tried a piece and had to spit it out. I had to step away to the toilet again with our young son and a staff member came to get my plate whilst I was away. My wife said "umm I don't think he is finished". What happened to asking first before lifting the plate I wasn't finished. The toilets are very outdated and were the same as when we left the shire. Only they were once clean and smelt ok. Holy dooly at my wife's request she asked me to come into the toilets to smell the disable ones. wow just wow smelt bad and we couldnt let out daughter brush her braces in there. Not sanitary. My my how this place has gone down hill.

Visited here when in Sydney over the last decade, and was a bit disappointed that more gambling machines have been installed after taking out the only comfortable seating area in the place.
It's not a bad place if gambling or watching sports, food seems ok and choice of beers is good.

Used to live here. It was good then. Unfortunately I can do a better steak at home. I pay you top dollar to get a better steak. Medium is red/pink. I got tough, dry and brown. Could hardly cut it. Customer service was also lacking. Man you sure gone down hill! Sadly

This enviroment is relaxing and music creates a great atmosphere. Great place to grab a beer with friends. Usually come in for saturday night beers with friends. Amazing bistro food. I have become addicted to the Chips. The seasoning on the Gymea Chips are legiondary.

The restraunt is too pricy for a pub. The live events are quite good, and it's been a great place to have a function as well. Not sure about the cost of a function either. The security measures here are quite good, and always make you feel safe. The crowds can be good and bad depending on the band that's playing. Service can be quite slow at the restraunt, service at the bar isn't too bad. The layout is really great and like that you can enter from the back straight into the beer garden.

There are better pubs in the area. Food is average, meals are smaller and pricier than in other pubs in the shire. Nice outdoor area, friendly staff and its pretty tidy.

Thanks for replying, being there on a Saturday night the DJ with retro music got everyone up onto dance floor. Atmosphere was good, food was good, staff were fine always on the move clearing tables serving food and were polite and curtious.
I know it takes some work and organisation to upgrade facilities, keep it going and the pub will be better for it.

The four of us retired blokes have been having lunch there for the last couple of months, where pretty easy going eaters but noone has enjoyed or even finished a meal, poor quality meals. One of the boys ended up sick in the pub toilet after our last lunch, also one lot of coffees was basically froffed up milk
Needless to say that we are looking for another place to have our group lunch, Hopefully the meals will more enjoyable . Ross .

Tempura Fish smelt and tasted off and was from frozen package you buy at Coles/Woolies.
Caesar salad was tragic also smelt off.
$50 plus for this disgusting lunch.

Stopped in for a quick drink tonight along with every other parent from the local school, as the school was hosting a kids-only event for an hour. It was obviously a much larger and more chaotic crowd than a usual Friday evening. While queued I noticed a customer speaking rudely to one of the staff (later asked her name - Tiarne). Despite the stress, disrespect, long lines and general madness going down, Tiarne remained nothing but calm and professional. Diffusing the situation calmly also meant everyone could keep enjoying their night.

Rather surprising menu options not often seen on a pub menu but they aren't really executed properly. It seems as though they are biting off more than they can chew.
In saying that though. They do taste OK. Just not to the quality I would usually expect.. I'd prefer awesome pub grub instead of average gastro pub style food.

Pretty nice place to have dinner. There is plenty of room and loads of seats. Not usually my first choice simply because their mid week specials are not usually that great. But the food is really nice, so i would reccomend if you are looking for good pub food. The staff are helpful and the atmosphere is nice. I must say parking is not the best, can have a bit of trouble when its busy. Overall pretty good experience.

Nice place. The only thing is when I ordered the Caesar Salad online the picture provided looked amazing but when the dish came out it looked nothing like the picture and it looked like a Caesar salad bought from Woolworths for $5 and put on a plate. Very disappointed considering I paid $17.

Love your steak meals but decided to order the beef cheeks special tonight - to say it wasn’t special is a understatement- flavourless water gravy with a small poor cut of meat that had a nice surprise when cut into… cold in the centre …more microwaved than slow cooked …shame cause staff are good and I love the place … may not be back to eat as I had to buy salt and vinegar chips that I bought from the bar to try and remove the taste of the beef cheeks post meal 😟

Lol. This place....Well...the staff are ok...the food is average...the surroundings or ambience is RSL....a group of the local regulars are....well...let's say basically brain damaged bogan pigs. You can't just have a quiet wind down post beer work without one or a group of these nutness half wits being a king sized dick. They need to be purged from the place....that add minus 10 points to this review. lol

Just hosted a hens here over the weekend and just want to say a special shout out to the staff, Courtney, Amanda, sorry I have forgotten your name but the blonde lady behind the bar and the manager! You guys went above and beyond to make not only the food exceptional but the atmosphere and service was just what we could ask for and more! Courtney, that flower wall you create was so beautiful and magical, it just made the vibe and the bride to be's night one to remember by adding something so amazing! Thank you so much for you attention to detail!

Just amazing, so so happy with our experience on Tuesday night... The manager & the gaming attendant on Tuesday night were so friendly, really happy with my experience! My friend had her drinks spilt by someone on her top & they replaced her drink for free & also gave her a top to wear! Cannot recommend them enough, thank you so much for your help! We will definitely be back 😊

I was there at lunchtime today, had the $15 steak with chips & salad as one of the weekday specials. Like most pubs that was ok, but was surprised that a standard beer ordered at the same time came to $9.20. I asked the barman if that was right, and confirmed. While I was waiting I checked the beer prices from the QR code app on the table, and saw the price (150 lashes) is $7.20. I can only assume they’re slipping in a $2 surcharge on the beer for the lunch ‘special’ if you aren’t paying attention, which is not on. Beware.

I visited the Gymea hotel on Saturday evening with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. The food was high quality, the steak exceptional and perfectly cooked, the staff friendly and the wine list reasonably priced and quite good options.
The dining room has a good atmosphere and whilst being family friendly isn’t too noisy.
The coffee and home made dessert options were a bonus.
In the adjoining section there was a DJ, pool tables and live sport so really something for everyone.
The car park is as also a bonus.
Highly recommend.

I've traveled the region as a safety and security hotel auditor with five star hotels. The Publican Neville Edmonds is a consummate professional. He inherited a poor staff culture and has built it up to a high standard. The staff are engaging and supportive of the patrons. Great Pub great place

It's not a bad pub. But at a pub you expect a good bangers and mash sausage. The sausage was worse than Coles/Woolworths basic sausages. I wonder if it had any meat in it. And another downside was the the outside area where they put the kids is right next to the outside smoking area... The kids were inhaling secondary smoke all night

It's an Australian pub so the beer is good, however the place seems modern and soulless. It's also extremely noisy when busy. They have good value-for-money meal specials on certain nights of the week.

It's a great friendly place. Food is good and both food and drinks reasonably priced. I hadn't been there since 1983. The old pub burnt down in 1984 or so, I am not sure of the year.

I thought the food was absolutely awful. There was so much salt my tongue is still burning 2 hours later. Who would have thought a meal with eggplant and haloumi (my two favourite things) could be so bad. Not to mention the $2.50 extra for a shot glass of gravy, how ridiculois. Will definitely not be going back!

I regularly visit here and the service and vibe is always amazing!!! Very welcoming and family friendly, a place for everyone. Can have the standard steak or parmi but the weekly specials are always an enjoyed excitement. A home meal away from home, minus the clean up 😉 don’t forget the Friday night entertainment after a long week of work with a cold one 😍

I had a pint of Peroni beer which I mistakenly placed on wobbly beer coaster. So I broke it on the table spilting it into my iPad Pro and iPhone. It never happened before. Thankfully staff was nice and help cleaning up the mess. Sorry bout this.

I booked gymea hotel for my husband"s birthday for 20 people and the staff at the bistro completely ruined it.
They mixed up all the orders and it took so much time to re arrange the food. Plus, the website says 50% off of we have the rewards but the staff were trying to tell me i can't use it after I've used for one transaçtion. I had to get another rewards card to get the discount. It was a complete mess.
Even though we were the only ones at the bistro yet, they didn't provide us good service.
I had to literally ask to get the refund for the order that they mistaken as they said once ordered it won't be refunded. So disappointed with the
service. Very poor customer skills and poor organisation. Never going back all 20 of us.

Have previously given a 4 star rating, however after this evening I would say that we won't be back.
The chef needs to check his attitude, especially in the view of customers.
We asked to get a different dressing on a salad, so the girl who served us (who was very helpful) went to ask the chef. He gave her a hard time and then gave us a filthy look, which continued as we ate.
Even the menu choices are quite limited now compared to what they used to offer.
Quite a shame. Local pub and normally quite good.

Gymea pub is a great friendly local vineyard pub. Great for a beer after work and even better on a Saturday avo for a bet on the tab, a good feed and a slap in the pokies. Awesome outdoor area with a beer and lots of heaters to keep you going on those cold nights. Great service with Good happy go lucky staff who are always down for a yarn.

Great atmosphere with many areas of the venue catering for different types of visitors.
There is the sports section with high tables and stools, bistro/dining area, outdoor dining and a small area with couches and tables.
Craft beers and the usual commercial rubbish are plentiful.
Menu is reasonably large however the food was a bit disappointing. Especially when it took almost 40mins to be ready. On top of that, you have to collect it yourself. I don't mind that however if you're waiting 40mins for a schnitzel, then they could at least bring it to you.
I recommend the Gymea Hotel. It's a nice place.

Gonna give this a struggling 2 stars. Here is a photo of a main meal, not particularly cheap, not from the kids menu. But it was tiny and super dissapointing when you're hungry and order a pasta to fill you up. Also tasted like cardboard, but I guess that's subjective.

For the most part I’ve dealt with lovely staff here. Unfortunately when I asked why my CC purchase was $5 more expensive than the last one I purchased from a different bartender I was told “no that’s the right change.”
What a joke.
I thought I might make this my new local. Think i’ll pass considering at least ONE of the staff is dishonest.

Food needs overhaul. Have had a variety of meals from the menu. Salads are served chunky - Burger patty was tough and flavour wasn't pleasant. The Crispy Pork Belly was also tough and dried out. Atmosphere is quite good.

Aside from the strong fumes from vapers and smokers carrying into the non-smoking areas, this place is a really good place to get a drink and / or bite with family / friends.
Gymea hotel is not overly loud as to bombard your ears and prevent you from having a conversation with your fellow guests. The only real improvement feedback I have is that Gymea hotel's non smoking visitors would greatly benefit from the development of the smokers' area (e.g. the hotel investing in upgrading the smokers' area to a closed room with a system / design pumping fresh air in and exhausting the smokers' air out in a way that keeps fumes away from non smoking areas (especially dining areas), similar to what I've seen at similar venues).
Their food has never let me down, being of good quality and good portion sizes (personal favourite is the Perri Perri Chicken burger, the kings avocado schnitzel is also a solid choice, especially for those with a larger appetite).
Staff have always been friendly with me, and made me feel welcome.

Appalling. Complete schmozzle with orders. Waited 30 minutes for garlic bread and when it was pointed thatt orders made 10 minutes after ours were served it made no difference. Waited 50 minutes and saw more orders made after our come out when we decided at 9.25 to get our money back and go home.

A good little place to come to for a meal at a pretty good price. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The staff were friendly and the food ok, my chicken schnitzel was a little dry.
Today is my second visit here and it was better. I had the Prawn Spring Rolls and the Bruschetta, both were very nice. The rest of my group enjoyed their meals also.
