Wow! From the amazing welcome by Renata to explain how to use the club for the first time, to the extraordinarily friendly and efficient Leanne taking all of the food orders for over 2 hours straight! Sad to see Alex's 1 star review, the $12 menu is super clear, there is even a menu stuck where you order. Such a bargain on a Tuesday, no wonder it is so popular with the repeat customers each week. We added some sides, we were even prompted 'those sides will be extra' yes we want to try the selection. We were advised of the wait for the freshly cooked food. The reason we visited was to see the piece of the Berlin Wall outside, so fascinating to see a piece of history like that here in Canberra. Highly recommend this place, service, food and experience!

Went there for dinner but non of us leave with happy face after the dinner.. One of the waiter told us today is schnitzel special which is only $12.. who knows that 12$ is only the schnitzel itself (check the picture how the veal schnitzel looks like) without any sides and sauce, why did i assume that? Check the receipt and you know why.. queue to order for 25mins and the food came out more than an hour... amazing? Yes it is.. I guess we should never really trust the review.. Unpleasant dinner 😄 once and no more.. Thank you

Took a while to order as long line at 6:20pm, but the schnitzel and pork knuckle we got was pretty good, kids pasta bolognese was a bit salty, wasn’t a hit. Too full to try dessert.

This was our first time at this place and the food was amazing. I had the rouladen and it was just as good as my German mother-in-law makes. The interior gave off the German vibe with lots of different seating areas. The staff were so friendly and it’s a very family friendly place. Will definitely visit again when in Canberra.

This place was absolutely fantastic! The food was amazing, and the portions were very very generous. The service was great, and the atmosphere was really good (even when it was a week night). The apple strudel is a must order. I highly recommend and will be visiting again!

The Ultimate German Experience is very hearty. I think it's enough for 4 people. Sausages, schnizels, mashed potatoes are my favourite. Mine didn't have fried onions as the menu suggests but I am too full to ask for it.

The interior gives off a German vibe. The beer is delightful. There is a diverse range of menus, and the portion sizes are generous, but the taste may not be outstanding. While there isn't a specific dish I'd highly recommend, visiting the place at least once is worthwhile.

The food was very disappointing. They advertised a $12 schnitzel, but it didn't live up to expectations. The place was unclean, and we had to wait 45 minutes for our food on a Tuesday night. It definitely wasn't worth it.

Team dinner was held here and it was awesome! Grabbed drinks first, chatted for a bit then played pool as the restaurant doesn’t open until 5:30pm, and the food portions were generous! I had to take my pesto gnocchi home as it was too much for me, but it was absolutely delicious!

Spacious club with lots of interesting rooms and levels, various bars that can be used when needed, lots of activities and events by the looks of the posters on the walls. Nice displays everywhere. And yes, very German with great beer selection. Food very nice too, with reasonable pricing and portions. The schnitzels were the best, perhaps a little small if I had to criticise them, but big enough for us oldies. The runder rollade was the least favourite and wasn't hot nor tasted freshly made. But we finished our plates so all was good :). And we will come again im sure to taste more beers and menu items.

Signature Pork Knuckles must be ordered at reservation. Worth a try and great to share between 2 people. The beetroot fritter was a delicious surprise. Pay at the counter, and drinks are available downstairs. Ginger beer available on tap. Lovely and friendly staff.

Shatter crunch is what you hear when you take the first bite to the pork knuckle Spatzle was perfect in every way, and the apple strudel was comforting and satisfying

My husband suggested the German club for lunch .We have not been there for many years . I love my pork and being European had lots of German food . The club is very run down . Doesn’t feel clean . We ordered our meal of one pork knuckle and a veal schnitzel . By the time my husband got back to the table from getting drinks they brought out the meals . My pork knuckle was barely warm dried out I could hardly cut it . It was as if it was cooked at least 3 days ago . Schnitzel was also not freshly cooked cabbage and sourkrout out of a tin . I had 3 mouth full and felt sick . I love my pork and love food . I asked for a take away box and told the young man it was not except-able. He said he would pass it on . No offer for anything else or a refund . I noticed other table that came after us ordered the meat board and another big platter also came out in 5 min from arrival . Must have a special fast oven . Thank you ! Won’t be going there again .

My girlfriend and I went here, it was our first time going somewhere German that isn't her grandparents house. Ordered two pretzels with dips as entrees, the beetroot didn't taste too good and the hummus is okay but the main star was the pretzels they were very warm and soft and were amazing with butter! The spetzle was very yummy and my steak was cooked perfectly for medium well as requested. Rissoles were good but they were my partner's not my cup of tea y'know? The dessert was amazing it's like a big Macca's apple pie with ice cream I'd definitely recommend that! A warning sadly they don't do the donut pretzel anymore and they are updating their menu soon so the websites menu is incorrect for still having that on their at the moment! All in all amazing service and amazing food. We agreed this will be our go to spot for German food! Can't wait to come again!

Lunch at The German Club, we walked inside the club, they made improvements at Harmonie, when I was last time there 😀. The Harmonie German Club is formed in 1961 and elected the first President after they laid the first stone of the Harmonie German Club on 26 October 1963. The Harmonie German Club of Canberra received a part of Wall 🧱 from Berlin that come to Canberra on 3 October 1992. It is outside of the club at the entrance to the car park. 🚗 Note: The Berlin Wall 🧱 that faced the West you see the Graffiti, what faced the East there is no Graffiti on the Wall. The Plaque reads: This section of the Berlin War reminds us that no man-made barrier can repress the spirit of freedom. May we all united to live in harmony, ensuring peace for further generations 🙏. Garlic Bread 🍞, then Austrian Classic Wiener Schnitzel with veal and Lemon 🍋, Parsley and red 😋 Cabbages and Chips 🍟. Hawaiian: Chicken 🐔 Breast Schnitzel 😋, topped with leg ham, Pineapple 🍍, and Grilled Cheese 🧀 and Chips.

I do recommend to try the pork knuckle. Please be aware, we required two adults to finish it. It is big and delicious. Update: this time we tried Ultimate Wurst plate Wednesday- awesome. Also, beetroot fritters we very delicious. I recommend them as a starter. Excellent service. They have outdoor area. So, well-behaved dogs are acceptable - discuss it with the staff.

Great food. Book early as they book out. We still managed to sit in the bar area and order meals which was great! Not one of our party of 7 was unhappy with their meal. We had a variety of meals the sauage tasting platter, pork belly, schnitzel, Kiev and steak (steak apparently was the best they've had). Great atmosphere. Friendly staff!

Got a booking Sunday night. Have to order early on a Sunday as kitchen closes at 7:30! I had German pasta and my friend the rissoles both filling and yummy. Friendly staff and service, both at bar and restaurant.

Food was fabulous but I'm sure they think they are feeding truck drivers, could only eat half of the plates.

First time to come here and we tried The Ultimate German Experience. And it was an experience! The choice meats were delectable! I really enjoyed the wurst with all the flavour it packed. Was not a fam of the ham though. It would have been better if all the items were provided, for example the fried onions and smoked pork loin were nowhere. The serving is huge! The pork knuckle is just huge! It is good for even 4 people and it advertised to be good for 2-3. I think even 5 can enjoy it!

First time coming here and came for event “Kath and Kim bingo”. Had such a good time at the event. The atmosphere was such a fab time!!! Had dinner with the show. There was a really long wait for it, waited over an hour and a half but was told of the wait. But regardless of the wait the pork schnitzel, mash and sauerkraut was the best I’ve ever had. It was so tasty I have to come back with my kids. The nachos I wouldn’t get again as nothing special, but the pretzels were yum. I had a great time!!

Could not book the restaurant for dinner on Saturday but turned up and found it was just as nice sitting in the downstairs open area near the beer cellar ( we were lucky as there was a live blues performance so we had great music too!). The sports bar area also has dining space but it can get noisy. The food has to be ordered at the restaurant ( expect a line at peak times). We were lucky to have the last pork knuckle in the kitchen and it comes with a knife stuck in it! Presentation aside, the dish is great with great crunch to the crispy skin ( I heard the crackling crunch from two tables away before mine came!) The pork knuckle comes with sauerkraut and red cabbage- so tasty. I loved the Pretzel though… it comes warm and is soft inside, crispy outside with a salty crust. The beetroot fritters are unusual and not crispy if you are expecting a crisp fritter. The Munich Man is good for sharing (2-3). The Frikadallen ( meatball) is tennis ball sized and is tasty. The sauce is just as delicious. The rest- sausage, pork loin, schnitzel- are ok. Atmosphere & food is good. You also get to read about the German immigrants and see some mementos. Outside, it is wonderful to see a piece of history, a portion of the real Berlin Wall. You don’t have to be a member to eat there. The place is also home to Canberra’s dinner theatre.

Come for the pork knuckle but surprisingly found that the sausage and pretzel are also perfect, all recommended. Of course the knuckle was the best. Good service and good vibes in the club as well.

Booked a table for two and a high chair. On arrival, was told we should have booked a table for three instead as our 'corner' table was in 'a high traffic area ???'. Were kicked downstairs to find our own table in the sports bar, with a baby... Ordered entrees and meals to come out separately (to appease the bub) which all came out at the same time. Once the footy started the speakers were turned up to near deafening levels. Food was great as always, but that was the worst dining experience I've had in years. #disappointing

$12 Tuesday night chicken snitzel was great. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Place was very busy & we wished we had booked a table but in the end we were lucky enough to get a table. Good atmosphere & we will be back again on another visit to Canberra
