Wow! Before I headed here a friend let me know that the place what a little stale and needed a glow up. Can I say, I wholeheartedly DISAGREE! On entering room I was surprised how lovely it smelt. I then realized I had a suite all to myself. Everything was super clean and tue view, despite being on level 1, was stunning. Great toiletries in the bathroom and T2 teas and coffee in the kitchen. It would be nice to have some milk in the fridge (and I missed the mini bar of other hotels). The bed. Oh my gosh! This hotel has the softest, most loveliest of mattresses. I wanted to check what it was before I left but forgot! I had the best sleep - it was like sleeping in a cloud, Parking was easy and is at basement level. The parking bays are nice and wide. I’m Booking this place again, it’s just wonderful!

We stayed the night here and ate in the hotel bistro.|We have loved it. The views are spectacular and Austinmer is beautiful.|We both had a delicious steak for dinner.|Yes you do need to collect your food with a buzzer system, so service not a strength but it is a bistro and the food is modestly priced and lots of it.

We stayed at Headlands for 2 nights for my son’s wedding on Friday. The place was amazing. The rooms were good sized and clean, the views fantastic. The function centre was a fantastic place for a Wedding. The staff were so professional. Highly recommend Headlands for a function or for just a general stay. Such a lovely few days away

This review is not so much about the hotel…but rather one of the dashing creatures currently in employ. The first day of my stay, I happened upon the single most gorgeous creature I have ever witnessed in my 54 years on this crazy planet we call earth. There he stood in the kitchen. Tall, blonde, pretty - I felt as though I got a taste of the menu just looking at him. So in awe I was, I really could not tell you what I ordered. I must admit I was quite flustered!

This is a fantastic place to eat, have a relaxing drink and enjoy the view! There is no need to book a table, but I would recommend it if with a larger family group. This place does get popular at key meal times, keep your options open for your preferred dining space by arriving earlier to soak up the view and atmosphere. Plenty of places to sit throughout the Hotel (which can be hard to pick your preferred view).

This area of NSW is very underrated. It’s simply magnificent! We were offered a magnificent and spacious ocean view deluxe apartment on the ground floor. The sunrises in early June were a spectacular sight. Everything about Headlands reminded me of the type of accommodation and dining available in Europe. It has a real Euro feel. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and departed Tuesday morning after a superb “all inclusive breakfast “. The staff in the hotel and the restaurant area are all so very friendly. Credit too to the chefs. Outstanding cuisine. My only complaint is the bed in the apartment. Way too soft. Time to change or upgrade the mattress please. We plan to make Headlands our go-to location for a mini break every year. Thank you.

The location is really beautiful. We had a ground floor room facing inland, but still waking to foggy mountain ranges and tall sweet smelling pine trees was lovely. Ocean all around the hotel. Beaches were clean and if u love dogs, were so much fun. We loved swimming at Austimner. Our one bedroom apartment was huge with a massive balcony. Only negative was the bed. It was way too soft and you literally fall into it, so woke with a sore back. The shower wasn't clean, so I ended up buying product to clean it and the bathroom floor. And the staff working in the restaurant/bistro never smiled or wished you a good day. There were two girls in the bar that were very unfriendly and disinterested at breakfast and dinner. The Reception check in accommodation staff were terrific and super accommodating. The pool was warm and inviting. All in all I would come back . My daughter and I had a lovely time. Cute rabbits that come out to graze at night.....just a nice part of our coastline.

The Headlands has it all! Lovely apartments, and meals and drinks in the hotel itself. A stunning location- beaches nearby, you can relax, recharge, explore, go to shows at theatres, discover restaurants. The staff at Headlands are thoughtful and friendly. No wonder we keep returning!

Rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. Check- in staff were very pleasant and helpful. However, noise from other rowdy guest could be heard from the lift lobby as there was a wedding on during our stay. The bistro was very convenient , but its service and quality of food was average. Overall, it was a pleasant stay for us .

No doubt this is in a prime spot. Beautiful location for a few drinks. Staff were friendly too. The food though, below average. Burger beef was dry and tacky. Battered fish was way overdone and tough. Would love to come again for lunch/dinner, but don’t know if I would based on the food

I would love to give a shout out to the manager on duty for Sunday the 24th March . Not only did he go above and beyond for my party of 35 , they were amazing with their service . The location seating on south terrace was exactly how I pictured. I cannot thank you all enough for making my day fantastic. I would highly recommend headlands hotel . Food was also spot on .

Great place to stay. Like being on a cruise without being sick. We had breakfast and Dinner there all nights and the food and service was excellent. Happy Hour from 4 to 6 each night was very enjoyable.

Great location and views and friendly and helpful staff in person. Very slow to respond to my emails and calls - I had to follow up twice for an invoice. Rooms are basic in design and amenities and felt it was is overpriced at $600/night for autumn for a one bedroom. At least provide tissues and bottled water. Pool is average sized and not well positioned. Food and views are the redeeming factors.

Gorgeous views from restaurant. Lots of options on the menu. Very generous sized portions, and great selection of drinks. Parking may be difficult in peak summer, but winter was reasonably okay midweek.

For what was only an overnight stay to cap off a short visit to Wollongong, this stay certainly packed a punch. Beautiful location, fantastic service and the perfect ambiance to a wonderful break. We had an ocean facing room looking north on the first floor, which was a perfect afternoon spot to unwind, enjoy a platter and wine with friends and reminisce. Dinner in the Hotel was great - fresh and prompt. Fast forward to the glorious sunrise from the balcony in the morning and we left promising we will be back!

Conflicted writing a review. Great food, reasonable prices and good service but.... Used the self serve menu order app because it seemed more of a novelty than walking fifty feet to order. App worked well but AUTOMATICALLY took the liberty to charge me for a tip. Wow. I always thought tipping was at least optionally. But it's certainly something that is done after the event at least. Meal and service ended up warranting a gratuity but it's the assumption that bites.

Comfortable scenic venue in an attractive situation. Plenty of options on the menu and often a good deal to be had with the chef's specials

Came here for dinner, spent a fortune and went home and had to eat. Food was rubbish, meat pizza topping was like dog food and prawns were well below average. Beautiful location let down by the food.

Bar & Restaurant only. |Visited for for a special birthday celebration lunch - a party of 22 including children. |Top marks to the staff, who could not have been more helpful ... especially with keeping pavlova birthday cakes in fridge. Pre-booked window table with glorious views. Yes, they were extremely busy (height of summer hols) so absolutely no surprise the food orders showed a 45min wait. Our meals were good, and most were very generous! We were very impressed with the different seating areas, covering all aspects of social get-togethers. Great location, super vistas from almost all areas. Excellent standard of cleanliness. Would highly recommend.

Attended a birthday party there. The food and service was very good and the location was fantastic. Pity the weather didn't co-operate. Will visit again, even for lunch when passing by.

A stunning location not far from where I live. We stayed as it was the location for our daughter’s wedding. Her ceremony was in the little park on the south side of Headlands and the reception was in the Ocean view room. Magnificent outlooks, fantastic food and service. Our room was great, looking over a garden, but I visited one of the penthouses and it had amazing sea views. Fantastic weekend.

Absolutely amazing stay! Great views from the 2 bedroom ocean view penthouse that I booked for my wedding preparation. The mountains and ocean view were second to none. Lovely service, though there were some miscommunications in the lead up. Understandable as we had booked quite a number of rooms in advance. Though they were able to fix most of them quickly and were very friendly in doing so. Awesome views. The penthouse would benefit more bathroom space or an extra bathrooms though, rather than double wrap around outdoor areas. The birds also were very welcome to our balcony for a nice quick visit when we would step out early in the morning. They were beautiful and not pushy or scary. Just curious and probably looking for a little treat 💛
