What happened to your Yum Cha? We got given nothing but prawn dishes, eggplant and beans. The only non-seafood offerings where all tripe or chicken feet. No Bao Buns. No Calamari. No Chicken at all that wasn't feet. One pork offering that had 3 serves and that was it. We asked several times for them to bring something else. Three staff members said they would go and check. None came back and no result was achieved. After having had such great meals there in the past and talking up how great this Yum Cha was to my guests, I felt like I had lead the all astray by bringing them. It was embarrassing to say the least. Worst experience yet. In 50 years, I've never left a Yum Cha sitting hungry...until today.

Went there nearly every week once.(Woden bistro) Tonight my boyfriend and I went again. Asked for medium rare steak with mushroom sauce but come with well done steak also mushroom sauce should be in other little bowl but when I got the steak the sauce already on the of the steak.... my chips went soft with the sauce. My boyfriend’s seafood basket asked for salad & chips but came with steam veggie&chips, asked change to salad&chips but didn’t even change the clean plate just took off the steamed veggies and plate still dirty with the steamed veggies, fish just worst than the home brand from supermarket, chips cold too. We all very disappointed the dinner tonight

We have had a very good and delicious greek food in this club. I recommend it to others to go there and try. There is also a place for kids with computer game. They will have lots of fun. The only issue we got, was the process to enter to this place. We were tourists and obviously we were not members. It took 15 to 20 minutes to be able to get in (without queue).

This was my first visit, and I won't be back. I don't usually give one star reviews but I feel that this is warranted. I came so I could go to the yum cha restaurant upstairs, and I had no plans to engage with the club itself outside of this. I had to go through the intensive sign in process in order to even get to the restaurant. This made me uncomfortable, as it felt like a lot of personal details to give just to go to a restaurant. We were also not told about this process when we booked. I don't carry a physical copy of my ID on me, as I have a digital ID on my phone. I was rudely told off for this by a blonde, short, older staff member with her hair in a ponytail (I didn't get her name unfortunately). When I said I didn't carry my physical ID on me, she asked me "well then how did you get through life this far?". This was an incredibly hurtful thing to be asked by a stranger, as I recently moved to Canberra with no financial assistance and put a lot of work into achieving this. There was no need for this to be made so incredibly personal. I felt very singled out as many people walked in without having to endure this kind of treatment. I told her I had a digital copy of my ID on my phone, she then said that wasn't good enough and I had to have a physical copy. I thought this was strange as I've gone to multiple bars in the ACT and not had this issue until coming here. I'm also covered in tattoos, so I'm clearly not underage. I moved to the ACT a week ago and have yet to update my license. When I showed her my digital ID, and she noticed it was a Victorian ID, she began making fun of me, saying "I don't know what they do in Victoria but we do things differently here, you should know that, it's common sense, etc etc". She said she wasn't trying to offend, while actively insulting me and putting me down in front of my partner and family. However, it turned out she was also lying as I was then able to put my information into their system manually and my ID actually wasn't required at all. I won't be coming back, as I didn't enjoy starting off my afternoon by being bullied and antagonized by this miserable woman they call a staff member. Considering I've read other reviews mentioning similar interactions, my advice would be that if they want to keep a clientele they should consider training their staff in basic customer service skills. If you want a nice, relaxing afternoon in this beautiful city - you'll find it anywhere else.

The only place in south Canberra I know of that sells Galaktoboureko! Cheap cocktails, good food- would recommend the creamy garlic prawns! and it hosts good events, such as Steve-O and Issac Butterfield.

The Hellenic club is a Canberra institution and has a great food offering with Ginseng (Asian), Filos (Greek), and of course the Bistro. All the restaurants are good quality and worth a try. There is also a kids play area in the bistro area which is a great distraction for the kids. As a local Greek I’ve been coming here all my adult life and it never fails to hit the mark. We had dinner at the bistro the other night and the food was great and good value (especially the grilled food). There meats are always well cooked and the sauces packed with flavour. Fish was also fresh and cooked perfectly to order. You can also try a few Greek style dishes.

The Ginseng Restaurant catered to my requests perfectly for my mother's 80th Birthday celebrations. We had a room to ourselves and were able to bring some decorations and a cake. They even provided candles when I forgot them. The food was enjoyable and they catered for vegetarians, vegans, and coeliac dietary requirements.

The food was average and took so long to come. The salad was plain, they should add a simple dressing to give it some flavour. We ordered salad with food and we had to go and ask for the plates .

The club itself is great and most of the staff are very friendly the food was very average and wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. The play area was about 35degrees and needs an aircon installed poor kids running around in there get so hot. Also bar staff need to brighten up a bit or get a new job. I think this club could use a boost in friendly staff happy staff makes for happy customers 😀

It was a beautiful night of dancing. Good varied food. Tasty. Three restaurants: one of them with Chinese food, the second with Greek food. Various drinks. We came here to the disco 90. after which we started dancing with the DJ. We danced until 1 am. We'll definitely come back

It cost $10 to register, which is more than any other club I've been to, but the food in the bistro was great, and the staff were super helpful. I'll definitely be going back again

I ate at the Chinese restaurant as it has such a good reputation. They found me a spot on a busy night which was good. The prawn toast was delicious and a decent size. However, the lemon chicken was awful. It was overcooked and the chicken was stringy. It seemed like it had been warmed over from lunch, and the oil had an unpleasant after-taste. I was sick later that night. The food I could see others eating looked fresh and good. I'd avoid their lemon chicken like the plague if I ever return.

Honestly, this isn't the best place to eat. The chips were plain. My food had NO flavour. I got the chicken kev, and the rice was the only good part of my dish. After I cut into the chicken, the hot oils inside it squirted over my hand, burning it. I'm very dissatisfied and disappointed. And the gravy taste like water. I doubt I will ever go back there unless they actually try make a good meal. The one star goes to the employees and how sweet they are.

Hellenic Club of Phillip would have to be one of the nicest places I've walked into lately! The Hellenic Club opened in early 1979, and after many years in 2009, the Hellenic Club expanded to the amazing place it is today... The club is located on the corner of Launceston St & Callam St with the parking access off Bowes St, Callam St is close to vehicle access as part of Woden upgrade... I've been to a couple of beautiful functions here at the Hellenic Club, one in the Olympus Room for the National Day of the Kingdom of Morocco crowning day for the King of Morocco and the other a beautiful wedding for great friends of ours! The overall layout of the Hellenic Club is truly spectacular from the entrance right through to the small garden lounge area! The food I've eaten here over time has always been the best of quality, all though I haven't yet tried out the Ginseng Chinese restaurant, which is very nice meals to what I've read... The staff have always been respectful and helpful, and I must say the Hellenic has some great statutes throughout the club! The club has a large parking area of Bowes St, which at times can be hard to get parking... The toilet facilities have always been clean and tidy... My only suggestion is that some of the seats upstairs in the function rooms need to be cleaned... It's truly a beautiful club.

Had lunch in the bistro and it’s seriously expensive for what it is. We paid close to $70 for 2 meals plus an extra $12 for 2 cokes. I was happy to pay but when the food came out it didn’t meet my expectations for the price.

Friendly staff, went there on a Sunday for lunch. In the first dozen people to get food. My partner ordered the lemon sole,it was great.I ordered the roast of the day, pork with vegetables. The pork was fine but the vegetables ( potato, pumpkin, broccoli) were only just warm!! I love my food hot,so I was very disappointed especially seeing we were early and expected everything to be hot and just cooked. In this day of high costs, you want meals to be value for money,I felt mine wasn't, the kitchen needs to lift its game

Fantastic kids play area that my toddler loved. Food at the bistro was decent. The lamb souvlaki was tasty and the lamb cooked perfectly. Also offer healthier kids meal such as roast with potatoes and vegetables which is rare.

CCSCA presentation with guest speaker Doug Bollinger. The food was great, as was the service. Parking was a little hectic and matched the venues popularity. Very large establishment with upstairs conference rooms, downstairs restaurants, bars, and gaming.

As far as public Canberra Clubs go this is one of the best. Good wine without being overpriced. Good menu. Parking difficult due to popularity. Impressive premises.

Always busy at dinner time and unless you have kids sit in the restaurant away from kids play centre room. Staff are friendly and do well with the amount of people and mess that they make. Food hasnt changed much over the years but the price has including drink prices.
