Yeah, well it was OK but unfortunately, the kitchen doesn’t open until 1130 so we didn’t really get to experience it with regards to the food but it seemed like a nice little stop if you’re heading through that area

We went on a Tues night and had a big Porterhouse steak with salad, chips and sauce for $19. It was lovely and cooked just right. Not surprisingly it was busy but service was friendly and prompt. Can't fault it and never get that type of thing in UK.

We love the hibo it's friendly and the staff are bloody awesome and it's a great atmosphere and we love the food yumo especially the beef Wagyu burgers & bruschetta bread so keep the good work up guys.cheers

We have dined many times at the Hibernian Bistro. Menu selection is excellent. Food very enjoyable. My issue with this review is the seating arrangements. It is that of Health and Safety. On this occasion we had booked a table for 12 Saturday evening. The tables, especially the long tables are extremely close, with the backs of the chairs almost touching even before patrons are seated at these tables. It is a constant issue and absolute risk of injury. A very uncomfortable situation. People arriving at these tables going to purchase drinks, ordering meals, collecting meals are seen to be constantly having to reposition themselves as do others, moving out to let some one in or out, holding their meals above their own shoulder height and over people's head trying to squeeze through in order to get to their seats. Getting in each others way. This is a long term and ongoing issue.

This pub was recommended to me and it didn't let me down. There was people in there early which meant that the locals know where to go. The food was lovely. Good value. Well cooked. Would recommend it to anyone

Quaint pub atmosphere filled with smiling couples, joyful friends and laughing families. It was a pleasure to be amongst a local community venue with a distinctive countryside vibe. On any traveller's must visit list I say.. Bravo Hiberian, be back I shall guaranteed

One of my favourite pubs! The porterhouse is delicious and always cooked perfectly. On tueadays you can get it for $19. The sauces are spot on also, the peppercorn is my go to!

My partner and I enjoyed a very nicely cooked lamb shank dinner, dining room had a very nice feel with an open fire place. The only thing that ruined our night was the bar waitress. I ordered a large glass of cab sav, and a Pinot noir, when she served them she said the Pinot noir had run out and could not give me a large glass. Instead it was halfway between a small and large lines. I said are you going to charge full large price, she said yes. I asked if she could pour some back in the bottle and I’ll have a small glass. She said no, and charged full price. I told that was a bit unfair and paid. I know it’s only a couple of dollars, but it was the principal of getting what you pay for.

Just finished a delicious pub meal here. Was like yummy home cooked food from your granny. We had crumbed chicken breast with mushroom sauce, two sides of veggies and mashed potatoes. We are not big eaters and that was a perfect size meal for us to share, just needing the second serve of veggies. I can see that the servings around us are equally as big. The food is delicious and every staff member from the first phone booking to the bar, to the servers was friendly and cheerful. Really worth a visit.

I think people are getting confused with price vs quality. Eaten here twice now, 1st time had the butter chicken, it was very bland, small portion and the poppadum was greasy, as the oil was not hot enough. 2nd time ordered a medium well done steak, a good vet would've put it back on its feet and very very fatty. It's a big nope from me.

Interesting place where the beef & reef get to the table before the coffee does. Couldn't fault much, food was quite good the potato unfortunately either over cooked or over age it was turning grey when we opened the alfoil it was wrapped in.

Incredible value for money - paid $32 for a 500g rump steak that was cooked to medium rare perfection. Lots of pub fave meals to choose from and a cosy and quaint atmosphere. We were recommended this by the locals and it's clear to see why. Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

I had the best meal for s pub I've ever tasted. Gourmet pub grub to best the best. Plus there's live music Fridays and Saturdays. Top venue for a decent feed and live entertainment. Staff here are also good value, friendly and happy.

If I could give more stars I would! This place rocks. It is run like a well oiled machine, the staff where you order food in particular were amazing!! The food....also fantastic with plenty of meaty options to choose from. Can't wait to go back!!

Had the beef snitzel special at the bistro. Tasted great and was quick to get to me in a friendly atmosphere with great staff. I also visited when they had a band who sounded awesome and people getting up to dance.

Had dinner there on 29/2/24, Surf n Turf it was cooked perfect for scotch fillet, medium rare. Sister had the Thai beef salad said it was the best.

Great place but be very busy. Should you want to give it a try with a couple of guys/family/friends, please make sure to pre-book. It can be very busy, believe me. Aside that, great place to have a wonderful steak. The food tasted good and the steak was precisely cooked to my tastebuds. Staff were generally helpful. Their food catalogue was full of options and the prices were relatively reasonable. Give it a go for yourself. Oh don't forget their cheezy garlic bread too, it was just awesome! Cheers!

Food was good, although the tandoori pizza was very mild - it was more like tzatziki and cheese. Beer prices in happy hour were good. We booked a table for 16 people for 6pm and the girl rang me to ask to change to 5:30pm. I agreed and most of our party showed up on time, but I wasn't able to make it til 6:10 (which is why I booked for 6pm originally). We were thrown out quite abruptly at 7pm. A man came and cleared the table we were sitting at and starting spraying it and wiping in front of us and firmly saying it was time to go as it was 7pm. I wasn't given a finish time and after only arriving at 6, ordering my meal and eating, it was very rushed and I found it very rude. My children hadn't had their ice cream yet and my husband and I were still trying to enjoy a beer when we were moved on. I explained to the man that I wasn't advised of an exit time and my children hadn't had their ice cream. He apologized and said it wouldn't happen again (I'm not sure how he can make that statement) and promised that he'd find them somewhere to sit for their ice-cream -but walked away and never did. He never came to speak with me further about it and he avoided me as we moved towards the exit as the only place to go was to stand in the back doorway for my children to rush down their ice-cream and for us to finish our beer as children can't be by the bar. We were in the walkway and people were pushing through. Really poor form from the Hibernian Hotel. It wouldn't have been hard to come and speak nicely and politely to the table at 6:50 and let everyone politely know you have another booking there at 7pm, rather than showing up at 7pm and rudely forcing everybody out while they're trying to finish up. If they didn't have time for us they shouldn't have accepted a booking for 16 and we could've gone somewhere else for a much more enjoyable experience. When we go out with friends we like to be able to sit and enjoy each other's company rather than feel like we're on a production line. We could barely hear each other as it was, being very crowded and noisy. It's a shame this was handled so poorly as this place has been a favourite for years. We won't be back.

Food is good pub fare. Staff are nice. Premises has a good old aussie pub feel to it. Two pool tables and locals are happy to play for it. The taps could use some work though! Should I go for great northern...or vb? You're outta luck if you're after anything but your standard lager (hint: workers club down the steeet has balter on tap)

Called in for lunch while heading south. Nice pub, good food, and friendly staff. A pleasant experience.

Attempted to play a game of pool. The charge was accepted by the table but I was informed by the darts competition that we would be unable to play pool at that time and that the pub would offer a refund. The manager was belligerent in his response, very hostile, and demanded to see proof of the transaction. When provided with proof he was unapologetic for his behaviour and hasn't provided a refund. A chargeback will be forthcoming. Disappointed with the attitude of the manager. Wasn't a huge deal, and could've been easily resolved

A stand out pub for an enjoyable dinner. Chilli prawn pasta dish was surprisingly and perfectly fierce ! The crumbed lamb cutlets was pretty good too.
