When I was young, my family used to go to Hogs Breath on special occasions. I loved the lively atmosphere and the unique decor. The staff were really friendly and part of the whole experience.
This is not what we experienced when we went this week. The atmosphere were dull and the staff, while friendly, just weren’t the same. The food was amazing, but all in all, a disappointing experience.

What a wonderful experience. The staff were absolutely excellent, went here with my Grandparents whom are hard of hearing and the staff were just fantastic, patient and incredibly kind.
Will definitely be back next trip to Port 😀

We try and visit Port Macquarie once a year around this November month. Tonight we were going to dinner this restaurant was second choice as The grill was not taking walk ins. We thought hog's breath maybe a good option if not too busy. We were able to walk in and get seated. Drinks came out quickly however a long wait on the food approx 45min to 1 hour. Appeared to be a few large groups. Would have been nice for the head's up on the long wait times. Food came out and the curly fries were warm. Salad was good and chicken cooked well. Based on the wait times would not go back. Staff were friendly when being served.

We had a wonderful experience at Hog breath Port Macquarie, our waitress was so fun and the options are endless , great cocktails also

Wait staff were perfect.
Chef on tonight ought to consider returning to McDonald’s where underperforming and microwaves are the path to career success

Visited On a Friday evening. Was seated very quickly. Surpised by how big and spacious it is inside. We asked that the kids were served first and they were. After kids were finished eating they were brought some pencils for colouring activities. Waiter was very polite.
We ordered Sirloin Steak dinners, and shortly after receiving our meal we were asked if the steak was cooked to our liking (I have never been asked this before and was very impressed). Experience was very good and wouldn't rate any less than 5*

Tonight when visiting Port Macquarie, we ate at hogs breath and were really happy with our decision. I am coeliac so MUST be gluten free. We were greeted at the door where we were told that yes, gf was definitely available. Our server for the evening was Abbie and she was really friendly and very helpful as she went between me and the chef double checking ingredients and gf availability. The food was delicious and, for my husband and I, we couldn't fault it in any way.

Single bikers dinner. 1200km 4 days, just for a steak. No not joking. Hasn't been a HB near me in Sydney for over a decade. Nothing changed. They even belted out a 600g Prime Rib El Grande without hassle even though not on menu anymore. Well worth the visit. Back to sydney I go.

Seated quickly on a Thursday night. Ruby was friendly & very helpful. Meal was delicious & service was excellent. Will definitely visit again. Thanks.

Regular hogs fare. Friendly service. They don’t make you feel rushed. Very accommodating. Steak and ribs delicious, also yummy salad. Kids love the hogs fries.

Nice enough experience, a little pricey but had an awesome waitress who made it fun to be there . I had the beef nachos, it was a little on the small size, but tasty enough.

My recent visit to Hogs Breath in Port Macquarie was an exceptional experience, deserving of a full five-star rating. Arriving close to closing time, we were graciously welcomed in, a gesture that speaks volumes about their customer service.
Parking was convenient, adding to the ease of the visit. The service was notably quick, a pleasant surprise that enhanced the dining experience. The standout feature, however, was the steak – served exactly at the temperature ordered, which is a rare accomplishment and highly appreciated.It was surprising, given the general perception of Hogs Breath, just how delightful the meal turned out to be. The staff were not only efficient but also exceptionally friendly, contributing significantly to the overall positive atmosphere of the restaurant.
In summary, Hogs Breath in Port Macquarie goes above and beyond the expectations one might have for a chain restaurant. From the accommodating service to the perfectly cooked steak and the amiable staff, it’s a place that truly stands out in delivering a quality dining experience.

Just went here for dinner with my partner on the first night of our first holiday and had genuinely the worst food I've ever eaten. He got the chicken parmigiana which wasn't horrible although it was two schnitzels and the bottom one ended up with no toppings, all of it being on the top one. I had a bowl of mac 'n' cheese which not only was barely larger than the portion of tomato sauce given with the chips but was sooo disgusting. It had hard parts and tasted like it was left out on a counter overnight. I feel like I'm going to puke after getting back to the hotel. Completely disappointing for a $48 meal.

Just had the worst steak from Hog's Breath. Ordered the $40 Rib Fillet steak. Absolutely disgusting. As soon as I tried to cut, the steak was tough, so I knew it would be very chewey. But steak was also full of fat and sinew, only a small portion of steak sort of edible. So disappointed.

It was nice to re visit Hogs especially since so many of them are shutting down, I ordered a steak + Garlic Bread.
The bread was good no issues here
The Steak was a bit dry for a Medium Cook I either thought it was due to being under the heat lamps for so long or re heated and the reason I say this is my plate was radiating heat. So it might be a good idea to mention heat to your customers. Service was good and don’t be afraid to ask your customers if they want more than 1 drink.

Great selection of food. Steaks cooked beautifully & fish was good! Service & staff were friendly, Andy is a good friendly chap. Nothing to fault.

Great food, reasonable prices. Our server, Jack, was lovely. Friendly and attentive without being pushy. Highly recommended.

Great experience at this place. We had burgers and Tex Mex chicken loaded fries, they were awesome and great value for money. We went there second night and got steak sandwich, again awesome. Need to also mention we have noticed stuff cleaning and disinfecting tables and chairs several times. Very clean place and stuff very attentive. We will go back again for sure, highly recommend.

Good to see there still one open. The steak was really good. Very soft and juicy, had the prime cut. Was too hungry and forgot to take photos

Food was cooked too perfection. Lovely atmospher in the garden tables out the back. Service from all staff was great. Young fella named Jake looked after our table like a boss.

Fantastic steak dinner, the prime rib was delicious. Service was excellent, quick and nice table even though they were busy and we had not booked.

Didn't get food right was put in the back corner. Had to ask where our food was 3 times when we got it was no good. I was on able to eat a couple of curly fries. Not the dinner we were expecting from Hogs Breath. Very disappointed. Lucky they didn't make us pay for our food.

We had wonderful Danica (or Dena I can't quite remember her name) but she provided quick, pleasant service and was well presented. Her dice earrings were so cute I wanted to compliment but I forgot to! Please let her know.
Food was wonderful! Complements to the kitchen, came out hot and great size portions. Cocktails were very decently priced too and tasted amazing!
We were left very satisfied.

After being let down with our reserved booking at a different venue in Port Mac, we tried to find a place who could accommodate our hungry family of 3 with no notice. Hogsbreath delivered and did not disappoint in any way. Their staff were all wonderful and very accommodating, food was exceptional and every other table in the place was smiling and complimenting also.
A great experience - we’ll certainly be back to support this iconic venue when next in town :-)
