While visiting War Memorial, we are looking for a nice and cheap food nearby. We found this place, Hopscotch (on Lonsdale Street)
They offered the meal deal for $5 pizza (but U have plus a extra drink with this deal) and $10 chicken schnitzel. The food is great and fresh. Pizza paste is thin, tasty. The chicken schnitzel is beautiful and lovely, it's real one, not like factory ones. The paper corn sauce is good. The chip is very crispy.
I think it's very good quality and good value, not like those terrible cheap food with no tasty.
I give it 4 out of 5 base on quality and value (CP).
Suggestion:
The waiter should greetings when the customer walking into and tell the customers the special deal before they ask.

We had a brokkoli salad, Schnitzel, Hoppy Burger and Prusciutto pizza and enjoyed it very much!!!

Visited Friday evening, cool vibe, live music followed by a Dj. Friendly staff, good selection of drinks and lovely food. $7 selected pints 4-6pm - No complaints☺️

Update: My friend ordered two beers. They were room temperature. Asked for two cold ones, we were offered either ice for the beers or to purchase another two beers. Unacceptable.
Two of the beer taps weren't working.
I ordered the cheese burger. The meat patty was unfortunately barely luke warm and was cheap. Nothing worse than ordering a burger and the patty is only 50% beef and the other 50 consisting of breadcrumbs, egg and whatever other cheap ingredients they put.
I view $26 for a chicken schnitzel too expensive no matter the establishment , but at least at most places they are very tasty. At Hopscotch my partner ordered quite possibly the thinnest chicken schnitzel I've ever seen. More breadcrumb than actual chicken is not an exaggeration.
Positives were that the chips came out hot and salty and my partners meal came with what looked like a decent salad. I would hope so for $26.....

Three of us decided to head out for casual dinner and a drink on a Monday night. The place was quite busy and had a nice vibe. Disappointing that two of the craft beers on tap were offline - never mind!
Each of us ordered different meals, including a pizza, chicken wings and a burger. UNFORTUNATELY the three meals came out at different times - like 20mins difference so that one meal was finished before our third meal arrived. The serving staff were friendly but defended the practice indicating that’s how the kitchen works with different meals.
Call me old fashioned but FFS - the intention of going out for a meal together assumes you’ll be eating together. If you can’t bring a table of meals out together I won’t be back unfortunately and the food was really good!!

Place is crazy busy, love the atmosphere!!!
As it’s busy it’s pretty loud however, less of a “have a serious conversation” sort of a place... more of a “hey we are here to kick on” kind of establishment!!!
Drinks are not to expensive either which made the afternoon all the better!!!

Made a booking. Refused to honor it. Really poor service from the guy on the door (Pete) who was more interested in his iPad than this guests who have booked to spend money there. Won’t be returning. Door staff typical meat heads attempting to throw their weight around

Just stopped in for a couple of drinks before dinner. We loved the beer garden area and industrial look of the inside area.
Nice cocktail menu ($15-20 mostly), for those interested in that kind of thing.
I can recommend the Coco loco. However, it did take a while for the cocktails to be delivered to the table.
This is a great spot for big groups. They have a huge indoor area with long tables and heaters if you're sitting outside.

I am really disappointed in the staff here. I've been for many years. I went on a busy Saturday night and usex the disabled bathroom with my partner due to being disabled with chronic pain. We were forced out of the bathroom and even with explanation we were disciplined for using the bathroom and promptly kicked out. Incredibly disappointing given the bathroom allowed for patrons with disabilities. It would be great if the staff could be trained on chronic illness and disability to understand ambulatory users of their facilities to avoid the humiliation I faced.

Hopscotch have hosted our group several times over the past year and have always had a great time!
They are kind enough to lend the space to our community of around 60, as a meeting place for a few drinks and some food.
Really appreciate how easy it is to deal with all of the staff. I can't recommend this place enough for the 18 - 30 age group in Canberra!

Hopscotch has to be one the most talked about pubs of Canberra. A must go to I was told by locals.
Unfortunately I didn't see for myself what all the hype about this place was. It did has a good atmosphere but staff where not very helpful.
The food we ordered was of good quality but fairly overpriced for pub food.
I did like that there was games available for guest to play while enjoying a drink or two :)

Handy spot in the CBD to take interstate colleagues. We changed our booking last minute to take part in the trivia night activities and we had a blast. Service was quick and pretty attentive, considering how busy the place was.

Great vibe with live music. The food was tasty and enjoyable - definitely recommend the pizzas.
The service could do with an improvement. There was a number of bar tenders standing behind the bar not busy, and when asked if they could wipe a table for us to eat it was received coldly. Then the plates collected while still eating, then being asked if we were all done with them..?

Great venue with amazing food. We had the calamari and the chicken wing. Both amazing.
Beer was very cold, however the cocktail jug was terrible. Just sugar water with 2 shots of booze.
Service - average. Staff could be nicer.
I will return though.

Great bar/pub. Awesome food, good selection of drinks & reasonable prices. Good atmosphere, easy to hang for a couple hours or a night of it.

Funky place located in Canberra Central.
Food was reasonable.
Only complaint was that the chips where MASSIVELY over-salted.!! (ploy to get you to buy more drinks??).

Food was a 10/10. Group of 7 of us and big orders but the food was quick and amazing! We shared a few jugs of cocktails which were equally amazing! Complements to the chefs and workers.

First came here for a work event and was quite pleasantly pleased with the quality of food. They also have a good selection of beers. The cocktails are pretty good too. I have returned since.

Decently priced drinks- had the Mulled Cider ($8) and Hopscotch Brown Ale ($10 for a large), and they were good. Winter was still lingering, so everyone was clamoring to sit or stand close to a heater.
Not sure how I feel about the nation’s capital using an outdated label for Bingo Tuesdays.

Chicken wings on a Sunday are great value especially when paired with the happy hour schooners BUT wear a winter coat because it's freezing inside or huddle outside under a heater.

Came here tonight from Melbourne, sitting on table number 78, we ordered a round of drinks, after one hour of waiting we came up to the bar to ask for them and they literally say they gave them to us, it’s been 1 hour and 15 minutes and they keep saying it’s 5 minutes away. Absolutely bad service.
I work in hospo, you lose the dockets sometimes, but when something like this happens you guys shall care and prioritise it. Never coming back again.

Absolute blast , the live music was amazing. Shout out to Mark Hennessy who played an absolute phenomenal set. Would highly recommend for live music , great crafts beers and food
