We recently visited the Hotel Brighton for dinner. Our waiter was delightful and very helpful. Unfortunately I ordered a Caesar Salad with chicken at a cost of approximately $30. It consisted of 6 small cos lettuce leaves, half of which were brown, with delicately place small amounts of cheese, a couple of anchovies, small pieces of a prosciutto (or similar) and small amounts of cubed chicken. After mentioning the lettuce to our waiter, he spoke to the chef whose reply was that the lettuce is fresh!
Sadly we will not be returning.

We recently held a work function in the upstairs space at Hotel Brighton. The food was excellent, the staff very accommodating and it was so well priced for what we received. Highly recommended.

We recently had my daughter’s 21st in the Sky Bar at Hotel Brighton. The communication leading up to the event was excellent, service on the night was flawless with Ben explaining everything to us all evening. The food was delicious, and there was plenty for everyone. Thank you all for such a successful event.

We had our son’s 21st party at The Empire Room last Saturday and wanted to say that from the planning stages with Events manager Sam to the night itself it was the most amazing experience! Nothing was too difficult.
A special mention to Kia and all the staff, including bar, wait staff, kitchen and security who were excellent and on point throughout the night. Everything was seamless, plentiful and so enjoyable!
Sam we cannot thank you enough and have already recommended yourself and The Empire Room to everyone we know!

We had a club event at Hotel Brighton and the staff looked after us wonderfully. They had a great room, menu and system and as a result our group had a great experience. Thank you to Caitlin for managing bookings ( and our continual updates ) and Ellen (managing our event on the day ) and other behind the scenes but important staff 🙏

Was here tonight for a function upstairs, so didn't try the food just the Prosecco! However have been here in the past for a meal and even back in the day playing pool! After function went back downstairs and place very popular with footy players and associates. Note I don't follow football but I do watch the news. Hotel Brighton has a really nice dining area too. 4.1.23 here for meeting with volunteer colleagues and we shared some chips and garlic bread and both were delicious! Wanted decaf soy latte but they didn't have soy nor any other non dairy milks and I had decaf long black coffee instead and well wouldn't order that again!

The worst customer service I have uncountab In over 30 years. Went there today with Christmas brake up and was told by the waitress on the second round and I quote "maybe you guys should order water". To the short fat waitress, we will never return to this business because of you behaviour.

The venue staff on the night were great, managed by George. He did a great job, fantastic service by making sure everything flowed smoothly. Had no issues.
Would like to thank George and the team and also the chef that night, who looked after my friends with dietary requirements really well.
All in all, great location (train station is also 1min walking distance), venue, and staff.

The only downside I can say from the experience was finding a car park!
Service was great, food was delicious and well priced. Big portion sizes - left about a third of the BBH because I was too full.
The salad dressing (the side garnish for the spring rolls) was really tasty- most Vietnamese places I've been too have no dressing or a terrible fishy one.
Finally, absolutely thrilled that it was all gluten free 💖

Restaurant- Dinner
Had a 7.30 Fri booking.
Although the meals were very good value and speedy service we won’t go back to the restaurant again as the acoustics were the worst I’ve experienced.
It was so loud we literally had to yell across the table in order to hear. My guest sitting diagonally from me couldn’t hear the conversation at all.
It’s a real shame as I love this pub.

No seating with backing and no outdoor heaters. Other than that good food and horrible social interaction

Nice variety of food, I got the fish and it was a full plate of two fillets, salad and chips, tasty and well cooked. Service was fine, not outstanding just fine.

My review is for the white blonde that served in the bistro today at 1:30 pm. Your customer service is below 0. You had a attitude to people that were spending over $1000 at the bar. I will not return if you are an employee.

Last 2 times I ate here. The food experience wasn't great. Despite the fact that I love the atmosphere and beer options. Food didn't taste right, we even complained to the staff but it happened again.

I was a little bit disappointed in my visit on Saturday.
Service was perfunctionary at best and allbiet the food was to pub standard and relatively quick, it lacked a little flair and technique.
I did enjoy the poboy and rissotto, but it didn't wow me.
The wine list was OK and feattured wines from the east side, but was also missing wines.
The presentation the dining room could do with some thought as a staff only window greated my general vision in a mostly pleasing environment .
Staff service was a pass , but no table checks or secondary drinks through food service. A nice but unusual attendant served our area, and it was interesting to watch.
It's worth a visit for a large group .

I've been here a few times and usually loved everything we ordered, but this time was a miss. We tried the beef burger, and it tasted off—like it was overcooked or something wasn't right with the meat. Disappointed with the change in quality this time.

Had my 21st here in the empire room organised by the wonderful Samantha and it was amazing. Staff were incredible; the management, the girls working the bar, the security guards… everyone was amazing. Best night ever! Food was delish too.

Had a superb lunch in the front bar. Our meals were fantastic, reasonably priced food and drinks so close to Melbourne are hard to find. Highly recommended . Thanks

Had a great experience here recently. Absolutely loved our meal. The prawn sliders were so yummy. I'm obsessed with sauce and there was lots. The two sides the coleslaw and broccolini were super fresh. My chicken kebab meal was perfect. I loved everything and will be back.

Great food that was the highlight.
One server was excellent. The other forgot drinks order. However, it is a small point.
On the high street, it was reasonably busy.
The young lady serving the food was very efficient and pleasant.
It is a shame there are no stars against food.
It would definitely be a 5 star rating

Fabulous old pub in Brighton. Service was great, meals were ok. We all had the marinara linguine, and unfortunately all thought it was too watery.( Tasty tho! )

Depressing. Needs a new menu, a freshen up, a change of very loud and dated music (Triple M’s mega mix). It was hard to find any healthy options on the menu. I ordered a steak and asked if I could swap out the chips with potato mash. Was told this wasn’t possible. And I ordered a pepper sauce and received some orange sauce with no pepper in it.

A wonderful space for celebrating and dancing. The Sky Bar at the Hotel Brighton is a venue that I hadn’t been to before. There was enough room for a dancing and DJ area and the roof was open for most of the night which was a great option. We were happy with the service, some very hardworking staff on the night, plus everyone was both friendly and professional. The room off to the side was surprisingly handy as it provided a respite from noise and high energy if guests needed a dancing break or just wanted to sit and chat. That also had an open roof which, again, was perfect for a summer’s evening. Highly recommend it.
