We went early for Sunday lunch before the rush.
Very good food at sensible prices.
Has sports bar, lounge area , Pokies and outside deck dinning.
Also separate outside deck smoking area on the opposite side on the building.
Sundays are family kids day. Check for specials.

We’ve eaten here many times, however the chef must of changed

Went for a function. Room was lovely, food was good. However we're Pay $7 for a watered down drink. Could only just taste alcohol in it (Bacardi has a distinct taste so you know when it's there) but pretty much tasted like I was drinking a $7 class of coke. One friend commented she'd been drinking all night and was dead sober. Very poor taste. And a rip

We don't usually hit up the local pub but glad we did. The food is reasonably priced and came out quick, hot, and good portions. The pizzas had a good amount of toppings and my steak had good flavour. We will be back!

We are locals and frequent Hotel CBD at least monthly for the last two years. Dining Menu is better than typical Pub grub and you can also request Vegetarian options. Self-serve for cutlery etc, no big deal unless you thought this was a Michelin Star restaurant. It's super busy during their 50% specials but we've always enjoyed the Staff's friendliness.

VERY IMPRESSED!! Staff behind the bar and floor staff were very welcoming and the Food was amazing! General & venue Managers were very helpful as we have two children under the age of 10yrs so the colouring books came in handy. Thank you Hotel CBD we will be back!

Very disappointing evening, six of us went for my husband's birthday.Two in our party are coeliac, wait staff and chef were ignorant of our needs and eventually went out of their way to ignore us. Waste of $300.00. Will never return there!

Today i had a steak, which was super, Aussie female chef done an amazing job made exactly to my order steak was tender and juicy, all my guests throughly enjoyed their meal, will be a weekly regular to the pub for a fabulous steak. Icy cold beers on tap well priced, extremely satisfied with the service provided.

The Sunday at 5pm half price is a massive bargain. We had some steaks that were perfectly cooked, and we did not have to wait an hour for our food.

The first time we went there the steak was very average. We tried again the following Sunday, bravely tried a rump steak and can now report they have the dubious distinction of serving the toughest steak i have ever tackled! I thought about a doggy bag but decided our dog did not deserve that punishment. It's the Varsity Tavern for us from now on!

Terrible ! We booked to eat on the 50% off night. Got there and was told we would have to wait at least an hour and a half. Couldn’t wait that long as we had our children with us. Got told by a member of staff that we could use the 50% voucher another time. Called today to confirm a table to be told No in a very rude manner.

Terrible food. Went there for lunch with friends and not only were a few orders undercooked but just lacking in taste. When some of us ordered cocktails the bar lady complained how she had to mix so many the day before and was over it. Do we really need to hear this? Will never go back.

Table of seven. Order all at once, 4 pizzas, two mains and a kids meal. Were waiting on two pizza, other meals were finished and dessert had been ordered. Even though we chased up the pizza before dessert had been ordered the dessert was ready first. The only positive was the pizzas were half price due to early bird order... but still waiting an hour and a half for very mediocre greasy pizzas was not worth it. Should have got the refund and got maccas on way home

Staff were extremely rude and had no idea what to do about food allergies. Do not go here if you're a celiac. The staff lacked knowledge about the menu and the food was not that great, lots of grissle on the steak. What could have made up for it was good customer service but sadly it was terrible. Very rude and unfriendly wait staff.

So much for award winning. Flavourless, super dry, the crispy pork was soggy, the buttermilk chicken wings were dry and the pasta had no flavour. Gross

So disappointing. Came for lunch with a couple of work colleagues, between us we ordered a garlic bread, bowl of chips, salad and parmy. After waiting for 50mins and noticing other tables being served who arrived long after us, we had to ask the staff what was going on. Staff seemed to go and speak to the kitchen but never communicated back with us. After waiting a further 20mins with no update we had to follow up again. It’s clear the orders were not sent to the kitchen but we couldn’t be given an explanation. Staff couldn’t figure out how to refund us (paid by card) so had to give us cash, which we were also given the wrong amount and had to follow up again to be given the right amount. Total of 1hr 20mins for nothing.

Smokers lounge at the entrance is extremely offensive and smoke often drfts through the dinning area and bar not the way to greet customers. Beer and bar staff however are great. Porely managed.

Really good burgers and with $15 burger meal plus a drink on Wednesdays this is the place to be on a Wednesday night if you are looking for a place in the area.
Only downside is one of the cooks burns the patties when he's at work. Not sure who but he doesn't work often so its a low chance you'll have that issue.

Purchased chicken sandwich and chips .
The chicken was a 75 Gram or so tenderloin handfull of chips and bargain price of $18. And was told that the kitchen staff were all having a chuckle.
Really we and our friends eat There 3 times a week never again
You don't take over a hotel and reduce the portion size to bump up your profit margin in just 5 days. But when Tony woods has got anything to do with a establishment

Poor experience , it is 8pm, when we are ordering food, we suddenly being told no food can be ordered but pizza.
We have no choice and ordered two pizza
After 15 mins, the pizzas come, the pizza dough is just warm and some of the cheese is not yet melt which still in cube sharp, and the pepperoni is cold.

Ordered the steak medium, and it came out rare. I'd suggest ordering medium/well. However, when we returned it, they came back with a whole new meal. We rolled out of there, so full. Lovely place to catch up. Apart from that, I had a great night. Good atmosphere, great meal deals as well.

Ordered crumbed chicken breast costing $30, but received ultra processed battered chicken that was over cooked. My wife ordered chicken parmy that looked exactly the same. When the wait staff dropped off our meals, we realised we had to find our own cuttery. The bar staff were friendly.

Order a bowl of pasta and go sit down. They bring you the pasta. You very politely say "Excuse me, can I please have a fork to eat it with?" The reply will be "No, you have to get those yourself, they are out in the other room where you ordered" . Very rude service.

Nice atmosphere, really lovely, friendly staff. Catered for my gluten allergy and made the time to check my meal bad been prepared carefully. Great lunch deals making it a really affordable lunch option. Only a 4 star because I really didn't like the Singapore Noodle, didn't mention the sweet chilli sauce on the menu 🤢

My partner and I love this venue and have had sone great lunches - on Australia Day we called in for lunch and my partner had beautiful battered flathead with chips and a great salad - I had the chicken schnitzel and chips and salad and also garlic bread - everything was awesome -
Fast forward 2 weeks on a Sunday , today we went for lunch and had the most disappointing experience
We ordered 2 beers and then garlic bread and wings for entree - and the flathead and chicken for mains - I specifically asked the guy behind the counter to bring the entrees out first and don’t call the mains until after entrees - we were not in a hurry Within 10 minutes all meals turned up all at once - so much food looking at us - chicken wings were unappetising and broiled and unpleasant to eat - chips cold and soggy - salad was limp and soaked in dressing and hard to eat - chicken schnitzel crumb was uncooked and unpleasant - flathead was good - must have been different Chefs on both days but todays experience was disappointing !!

Me and group of friends went there for some food and drinks. First they brought one of our plate and then it took 15 more minutes to bring the rest of our food. There was a big crawling bug in my friend's salad and when we mentioned it to the manager, he did not even apologize for it and just said he will change the salad. Worst service I ever got in a hotel. I got better service in street food carts in Thailand than Hotel CBD.

Made a reservation for 9 people for 7pm for a farewell dinner , we ordered food at 7.15pm and by 8.30pm not one meal had been served. Asked for a refund and we left .

Love the Thursday night quiz nights! The food is so good for the price and the staff are very friendly. The TV screens broadcasting the sport are great to enjoy the rugby with your meal. Quiz night is a great atmosphere too and the girl running it is so helpful and enthusiastic and makes it so enjoyable to come to!

Last Thursday we ventured into your hotel for a meal and trivia
First the bar staff had no knowledge of there stock ordering no alcoholic beverages, no we don’t have any with that a male staff member came back and handed me one then asked for glass of Pino Grigio and was told we have sav Blanc on tap !!!. Now the food my wife ordered nachos and received a bowl of corn chips with a small Dob of sour cream and thin slice of avocado. Disgusting she took it back to kitchen and the cook showed no interest at all said go and take it to the bar with no response at all , then we had ordered crumbed chicken snitz so thick and dry no taste at all
Then the screeching voice of the trivia lady started blew our eardrums apart
All in all I give this one star thats for location
We are a fourth generation Gold Coast family we know the good from the bad and that experience was the worst I have had for a long time
It would not be a place I would venture into again

I won $200 on the pokies and it still didn’t make up for the lax and I unenthusiastic attitudes of the staff. Used to be such a cool place, now it’s overpriced and pretentious with no real standing to be so. Dry, dry plain food.

I have waited for 45 mins for my meal, i know it's not their fault as there was only one chief but the clubsandwich i ordered tasted bad, 3/10. The chicken tasted bitter.

I had the calamari and it was amazing. I despise deep fried anything batter crumbed all super yuk. This calamari was none of that, oh my gosh yum yum 😁

I had a mixed feeling experience in this venue today with some friends.
The place is nice, the outside seating area is nice and comfy, the prices are reasonable, the staff was friendly enough.
But seems like the kitchen staff isn't about the same level of customers service skills...
We were ordering our meals and couldn't have one of the ingredients listed in the dish we wanted, we asked for a swap with an even cheaper ingredient..and the cook refused it unless it would be charged as an extra. Unfortunately not a first time story but still quite unfair and not very customers oriented. Especially for a salad and for an ingredient that didn't require a single minute of preparation or cooking..
Anyway, the dish was still good but we were disappointed once again at the end of our meal when we've been told there were no desserts on the menu.. They still surprisingly had cheesecakes to be served and we got tempted to finish by a sweet touch...but I regretted it as soon as I tried it as it was really not very good...
I will probably not bother to come again for the same menu but had still a good time with my friends thanks to the good table service ! 😉😊

I had a fantastic night with my bro here. We were welcomed by the friendly staff as soon as we walked in. Ella, one of the staff members was absolutely incredible and made sure our afternoon awesome. If you’re looking for a great afternoon or night out, this is the place to go.. 6 stars!

If you're ok with customers asking female staff "if they have their rags on" after female staff have dropped the "c bomb" when welcoming them, then this is the place for you. This was my experience, sent feedback via email, however no apology nor response was received.
"To whom it may concern,
I arranged a business meeting at your venue for yesterday, I arrived at about 11:45pm, and some of my clients at about 12:15pm. Shortly after my arrival, 2 males entered the bar area, obviously known to one of your female staff, and the language began flowing, which unsettled me because one of my clients who was about to arrive is deeply religious.
Thereafter numerous people arrived for the "$15.00 steak special" as one of them told me, and the bar had only 3 staff to take drinks and food orders, therefore we concluded that service would be rather slow, so we left and went over the road to The Lake Brewhouse where our bill came to about $850.00 for the day".

I discovered the CBD 3 weeks ago and have been back every week since taking friends with me the food is excellent and so reasonable I even got a buy one get one free on the back of my recipt when I paid.
Our family recently celebrated my 90 year old mums birthday there, the staff were so welcoming and everyone had a different meal every meal was fantastic.
Fantastic cook and staff great atmosphere unbelievable prices huge menu with daily specials. Anne

I am a local and it used to be good here but came in for lunch mid week and most staff were just standing around not doing much. Customer service was average and the Long Island Iced Tea's are always made with flat coke. Need to bring back happy hour cocktails between 4pm - 6pm ocassionally. Cheers

HotelCBD can always be trusted to come up with a hearty, filling lunch. It's great for a group to sit outside out the back but don't get there late on Friday lunchtime. Staff have always been friendly. The recent reno is a good look.

Haven't been here for year's, and wasn't sure if it was still here due to covid. As this are is kinda out of the way area, except for people who.live or work right here in this direct area.
Well walk in and it looks still clean and fresh. Like most places nowadays , you can order your food and drinks.from the table you sit at, so I did.
You could also order from the bar as well surprisingly as people were.
Ordered the cheapest Steak meal.for lunch, with a side of "Surf" for Surf n Turf (Steak with Seafood) and it was really well.put together.
The 'surf cane in a separate bowl with about 4-5 prawns and 3-4 Calamari in a creamy seafood sauce and it was delish. The Steak was a 250gm cooked medium rare with a Garden salad and a choice of Mash or Chips.
The steak was good. ( Note: this steak is only 20$ where most are over 30$)
Cooked how I wanted it, medium rare, substantial garden salad with side of chips and Mushroom Gravy.
Not too big and not too small. The surf part was an extra 8$. So for just under 30$, this was a great choice. The staff seemed nice and you can sit inside or outside. Parking nearby.

Have been a patron of CBD since first opened but not very regular since COVID as venue hasn't been that welcoming and menu not so good. We've been twice in 2 weeks knowing ownership had changed and have been pleasantly surprised. The menu is amazing and well priced, a senior's menu from which I enjoyed the battered Barra and the daily specials and lunch menu are fantastic. It will be our new regular venue. Staff were lovely and I believe the venu is being refurbished including a new kids area so can't wait to take our grandies.

Had Pork Belly for entree & was dry & over cooked.The veggies were way over cooked and hard as a rock.Main had steak & veggies.Steak tough & over cooked,potatoes were ok,beans pale green & soggie.Very poor quality of food,would of enjoyed Mcdonalds better & at a fraction of the cost.Would not recommend to anyone.

Had a table of 9. Ordered not long after 5.30. Still didn’t have most meals by 7pm. They lost our order. When some meals did finally come out they were horrible. We asked for our money back, got KFC on the way home and won’t EVER be back again!!!!

Had a really great lunch here on the weekend, food was awesome. A bit of a wait for food, and unfortunately you have to order food and drinks separately at the bar!! It's a bit odd, but the ambience was good, food was very generous sizing, reasonable prices and delicious!! I'll be back to try something else.

Had a horrible experience with the current manager (Night shift manager on Wednesday 8:34pm). Condescending, unaccommodating and hostile behaviour. Did not allow my friends and I to eat at the restaurant as we presented foreign identification, which he mentioned was invalid despite the fact that it is according to the current law. Also, we only came for food, but we were still not allowed to order because of our form of identification. Manager needs to keep updated with the current identification laws and be more friendly to customers. Have lost a long-term loyal customer and will warn others not to come due to the horrible interaction. Do not recommend.

Had a function at the Hotel CBD and it was great. Staff were fabulous and the food supplied was good quality. The venue was a good size and offered a stage and separate bar. Highly recommend for a party or other event.
Had dinner at the Hotel CBD tonight and it was very good. Half price for dinner on Saturday evenings between 5pm and 6pm. Bookings recommended as we were not able to get a table initially but the function room was opened up to patrons which allowed for extra people to eat. Food was good quality.

Friends of ours used to live near here & we used to go all the time about six months ago, the food was always amazing 5 stars. We ended up back at CBD on Mother's Day & while the reno & decor look great the food was not the same quality it used to be. Not that the food was bad it just wasn't incredible although the meal sizes are still very generous.

Friendly staff. I was just served by Colleen, she has such great customer service skills, is so friendly and always speaks to you with her infectious smile... I cannot understand why she only works there so occasionally. Food is good pub food but I'd like to see some genuine IPAs served.

Food was surprisingly good! Better than many of the restuarants close to it. We had a wonderful thin crust pizza, schnitzel, prawn pasta - that were large & fresh and even the salad was done well.
Pub service was standard. It was nice they had a number of different area's and styles of seating.

Food was overcooked, ordered cup of tea when I asked for milk the attendant brought over 1litre carton to pour into my cup, Became very hostile when I asked for a small jug. My friend slipped on the wet floor and fell to the ground. Fortunately 2 patrons came to her aid and helped her to a chair. Staff provided a band-aid, took no particulars and left it at that. I might add my friend is in her 90s. You won't be going back there again

Food was OK, but not impressed with being over charged. And when the point was raised no real attempt to refund the overcharged amount.
Image how much extra they make $2-5 per sale, 10 plus people soon adds up to a small fortune. And how many people don't realize or if they do just let it slide.

Food was good, and the live music was good, but management needs to do some basic staff training.
Several staff were very polite, helpful and friendly, but the heavily made-up blonde bartender, was almost comically, confrontational and rude to several members of our group on different occasions.

Admittingly, living close and the only watering hole in walking distance, its our default venue.
Mybe I get it wrong....
Wishing Pubs and their business models in general restarted to consentrate on offering Atmosphere for the local community dwellers.
Times are gone now where pubs were a place to meet (AKA PUBlic House).
Towns were built around Hotels, PUBs.
As a drinker, and a local. My wish; Rather than focussing on Gambling options for the community, renovate the business model to entertain the community.
Maybe then the serving team member may offer up a smile or two, showing like what they are doing, enjoying what they are doing, while we sip on our beers defragging from the days work.

Food is really good for pub food. Fresh well priced and a great range. The only problem with this place is there isn't anyone to see you to a table. So it's uncertain even if you will get in. Some staff pushing by etc. No real service to speak of. We tried booking on a busy Sunday and they wouldn't answer. But again the chief's are cooking some really nice food.

Food is okay, very heavy and large portions and the consistency of the food quality isn't always the same. The trivia nights are great (every Thursday) and very interactive, and the prizes are always good and can be combined with other current offers at the time which is a bonus. Atmosphere is okay generally, more of an older generation for the most part as regulars.

Food is always great. Staff and service is good. However Tonight I was charged $5.00 to have mash and vegetables instead of chips and salad. Not happy at all. Have been a weekly and long term customer. Maybe I need to change dinner venues. Even the staff agreed it was not a good change. If this does not change back I will take my business elsewhere and tell my friends as well.

DO NOT GO HERE...so tonight me and my best friend walk in we spend 400.00 in the pokies, then we order a pizza and a calamari entrees. And we where told there would be a 40 Min wait. When we question out waitress about the food 1 and half hours later because our food still had nt arrived we asked where it was asked for a free drink we got given a free drink we got given a free drink card. When I went to the bar to derdeem vouchers we where cut off. We had only had 2 drinks. So asked for my money back and we where asked to leave because I was asked to leave ,,,, why ? ...q

Disappointed. Nice venues with friendly waitresses but not very customer oriented. I asked to swap an ingredient in my salad for an other cheaper but apparently the cook wanted me to pay an extra so I won't come anymore. The food is alright

Came here for schnitzel night.
Ordered a plain schnitzel and a parmy. Came out fairly quickly which was nice however the Palmy was still cold in the middle. Sent it back and got a Hawaiian in return!!!!! Perhaps focus on quality not quantity.

Been here a few times over the last few months and enjoyed the experience. Not as spacious as some other pubs around, but a nice environment with friendly staff. A good food menu with happy hour drink prices including all Saturday afternoon. Also has pub trivia mid week.

Awesome local hidden gems! Recommended by a friend about Sunday early bird dinner special, came here just before 5pm and airway people are lining up, ready to order. Very good quality food good even with special price, didn’t compromise with portion either. Friendly staffs working hard serving people, clearing tables and bringing hot food to tables. The Wednesday night special offer was for sirloin steak with chips and salad with a wine or beer for $22 per head

Deb and l agreed that they were 2 of the best steaks we had have in months and months
The chips were cooked thru in clean oil and the salad on the plate was a good size with fresh ingredients and a nice dressing

It was also so nice to walk in and Sarah greeting us and remember our names
Mikey and Lucia were behind the bar and they make it such a pleasant experience
What a difference it makes when your served with a smile and you go back for another drink and they remember your order

they offer half price meals - I am delighted to say - not at the CBD
I had a deliciously tender 300 gram sirloin steak with fresh vegetables - not frozen with a scrumptious mushroom sauce
My guest enjoyed the slow cooked beef
Our food was cooked and served in good time and under $40 for us both was fantastic
The young fellow singing and playing guitar was outstanding - you would pay money to listen to him
The staff, besides for “Mike the Magnificent Manager “ ( rude tosser ) were fantastic !
Mikey and Lucia behind the bar were fun and happy ladies and enjoyed looking after their customers with humour and a smile
Our best experience was meeting Sarah who was so helpful with the menu, taking our orders and then helping my guest to get a bet on a horse with the TAB
SARAH you should be managing the joint as you have a great attitude and know what customer service means
We will return for more great food and fun service and hopefully Sarah will be the new manager by then
