Yep weeks in a row we have now ordered our meals and one of the meals has been missed by the kitchen. The staff seem to have little clue as to the orders as I was asked was I sure I’m missing my meal!!!!!
Very average service and they have lost track of what I ordered.

Without a doubt the worst food we have ever had. Husband and myself got a steak which was so tough and over cooked it could be compared to roadkill. Didn’t even eat half of it was filthy. Waited an hour for it as well. Save your money and go somewhere else. What a waste of $80

We used to really love hotel Elermore but until today-
I booked the table for 22 ppl for tonight few days ago, show up tonight and I couldn’t find my table. I told them I’ve made the booking via phone call and even show them the proof. I have no clue what’s wrong with the guy who answered my call, I even double checked my booking with him and apparently he didn’t write it down!!!! Should I be glad there were still some tables left for all of us or ??
And if you guys already know there will be band playing inside the pub, why gave us the table literally next to the band? It was really really loud.
I’m and still very disappointed about the service.
Two stars are for the chef, bartender and the lady who was helping us.

We hadn't been to the "Shaft" for a good while. I suppose long enough for it to disappear and the Hotel Elermore to replace it. What a breath of fresh air, the atmosphere, the renos, the service and the food were great. We shall return. Great stuff

Waited 45minutes for meals staff at counter were very rude when enquired about our meals, was told we just have to wait. 4 out of 7 people ate 1/2 hr before us, meals were placed within 10 minutes of each other. Ran out of pork special.Note to Kitchen: if you are going to advertise specials make sure you have enough! We arrived at 6.30 and told special was sold out! Teach your staff better customer service! No patrons=no money= NO JOBS! 1 steak 1 chicken snitzel and 1 child's meal $71.00 really! Definitely overpriced! Won't be returning. Hospitality worker for 40 years so I know what I am talking about.

Totally enjoyed the experience of the venue, it’s very clean and appears to have gone through a renovation some time ago. The food tasted great menu was extensive but $24 for a basic chicken schnitzel & chips is just above market pricing, there was nothing special to make the dish stand out from another local pub feed, bruschetta bread was more crunchier than a biscuit.

Toilets are better but still poor. Turnover of staff is extremely bad and has been since iris bought the premises. For a recently renovated venue the men’s toilets are generally disgusting

The food was fantastic, service was quick n love the new look to place, family friendly. Great for having a family outing for food or to relax

The food, cocktails and service were all fabulous. I had the Barramundi which was cooked perfectly, with a lovely crispy skin. But I can't deny that I had complete food envy of my husband's dish, the slow roasted lamb shoulder. The meat was so tender you could have eaten it with a spoon.

Service was very attentive. Food was very good with large portions.
Only DOWN Side Was the bottle shop advertising Vodka 1lt bottle ,none available, and absolutely no location on the shelves nor pricing ticket available . I was informed they have all other sizes, and they were not aware it was on special even though it was advertised beside the entrance door in large advert .

Pretty average place, stunk like cigarettes from the minute we walked in, sticky floors, the fence around the play equipment for the kids is dangerous, I ordered a steak medium cooked with Diane sauce but when it came out to the table it was like a lump of charcoal and well overcooked, my wife ordered a schnitzel which after half an hour from receiving my well done footy boot she went up to the waitress and politely asked if they had forgotten about it they proceeded to say that it’ll be ready in 10 minutes. Won’t be rushing back or recommending to anyone in the near future.

Part of a group of 7 adults Thursday night. Long wait for dinner approximately 40 minutes. No other people were waiting for food.Beef brisket ordered was oily barely warm, gravy over salted scaped it off, one stalk of broccollini no head. Over sized mashed potato was cold. $34 cost. One order was not delivered, paid cash for 2 meals only one arrived and no receipt from paying cash. Pleaseget irders rechecked with patrons. Noisy atmosphere, children running around. Plates piled up on empty tables not cleared. Disappointing never again.

My wife and I went twice in two days. We went there for lunch on a Saturday and for the raffle and band on the Sunday. My wife had a Salt and pepper squid, I ordered the flathead fillets with chips and Salad and we shared the mushroom dumplings. The dumplings and the squid came out within five minutes, the flathead fillets within about 15 minutes. The service time was good, Given that there was about 40 people in the Bistro. The price tag was nearly $60 without drinks. Food quality was fresh enough But the price tag was a bit much. No innovation as far as a pub menu goes.
Then on Sunday, we turned up for the raffle. The band was excellent, but just a little bit loud to the point where I couldn’t order a drink. I would go and see this band play again, either there or somewhere else, But just a little too loud for Sunday afternoon/evening.
The in cleanliness is good enough And I would give it a 3.7 5 out of 5, only because of the cost of food and drinks

Lovely pub with modern decor.
I love how the seating area was spaced out and not super close together.
Food wise, it was ok - not the best I’ve ever had but pretty standard for a pub feed.
One small thing to complain about was when asking the server for some table water she told me to go to the bar and ask for it instead of bring it to our table. Nothing major but small gestures like that would make the experience even better.

I’ve been a few times.. the food is always tasty. I had the garlic creamy schnitzel topper and was impressed. I love a good pub meal. The garlic wasn’t too strong or bland it was just perfect!! The service is amazing. I had my child with me and the waitress was really lovely towards her getting her colouring in and a Band-Aid when she asked for one. Will be back to try more of the menu because theirs some tasty sounding dishes on there!

I've always loved the salt and pepper squid from here, but I am pretty sure in the past I have paid a little extra to have it as a main meal served with chips and salad. When I enquired last night about this, I was told I had to order the sides separate. The squid was $15 which is fine, but to pay an extra $10 for a side of chips ( which was way to big for one person ) and then another $8 for a garden salad, this ends up being an expensive option. (more then double the cost of the actual meal). My husband had the Burrito Bowl ($23) and the brisket was delicious - better then the last place I went to which specialised in slow cooked meat. The salsa had coriander in it which we both dont' like. Although it did mention salsa 'fresca', I have had different salsa's in the past and not all of them have had coriander in it. It's something that you either love or hate! The pub itself looks really nice and the smell of cigarette when you first walk in is only in a very small area.

I love the pub in general. Good for the kids and great atmosphere and the outdoor big screen is great. However I feel the bistro needs some serious changes made. I ordered a $38 steak yesterday and asked for it to be cooked RARE!! But it came out practically cremated. I could barely even chew it and it had 0 flavour. I let the bistro staff know and I didn't even get an apology. I only ate half of it because it was genuinely so bad. I would have taken it straight back if we hadn't just waited 40 minutes for food

Haven't been here for a very long time and the renovations are incredible! Looks so classy and clean while still being a great place for families. It also somehow looks bigger too.
Great food, friendly staff, wonderful amenities. Good for a bite and a round of pool.

Had dinner here on Friday night for my granddaughters birthday.
I had their caesar salad. It was really good. It was actually to big I couldn't eat it all.
Everyone else's meals were good.
My biggest complaint that I have is sitting with dirty plates in front of you an hour after you've eaten. So many places have this same problem. Staff need to clear tables much quicker. Tired of doing it myself.

girl with pink hair decided to just hand me a scolding hot plate instead of waiting for it to not be hot? hand hurts now lol. burger was dryer than the sahara desert could barely swallow it. most people were rude. not fun. not coming back.

Food is pretty good. Staff are great. Music is deafening though
I'm sitting here currently, trying to enjoy a nice Sunday lunch with my family that I only get to see once a year and I can't hear myself think. The noise is absolutely insane. No need to crank it that bloody loud.
Watched a whole table walk out 2 minutes after the music started because it's so loud

Be warned - this place is maximum video, sports, gambling and advertising. Gigantic televisions - I mean massive, twenty-foot wide screens, at least two of them that big. I've never seen screens that big in a bar before. And all the TVs showing sports, racing and advertising. Bad rock music piped in from decades ago. Quite a good kids playground though. No disrespect to the staff or management who work here, they were all great as far as I could tell. I don't know what I was expecting but it's hard to relax when you're being bombarded with video and ads.

Been going to the shaft for over 20 years, and it was just ok. After the rebrand and renovations, it’s one of the best pubs in the suburbs!
The chef is top notch, his menu is nice and varied, and the staff are very attentive. Kids playground is well appointed, and secured. Good range of drinks, and all well priced. The TV in the sports bar is humongous!
I had an issue with a beer, i approached the staff at the bar and they were very helpful. Offered me replacements or my money back. It wasnt that big a deal, so i declined but it was nice to see them not getting their backs up.
If you are scared off from the old shaft days, do yourself a favour and go try it again.
And if you do go, Try the American Chicken burger. It’s perfection!

Beautiful atmosphere place, surprise me the renovated done excellent job.
Friendly staff, delicious meals.
Stick date pudding is the best I've had for long time and
quality coffee.
We will be back next time.
5 star is our satisfaction & appreciation for the staff communication with deaf group.

Attended last Saturday for a friend's 40th birthday and despite the outdoor area being booked in Feb, a 2nd booking for a larger party was taken at a later date for the same time resulting in our party being relocated to the restaurant area. With 2 parties numbering close to 100, not enough restaurant staff were rostered. This meant I waited 90 minutes for my meal whilst another member of the party received the same meal within 20 mins, the food was delivered to the table cold due to obviously waiting on server availability (although I chose to accept this rather than wait further) and visible displeasure from wait staff. Additionally, the duty manager deflected blame from himself insisting the fault was that of another manager which made any attempts at apology feel disingenuous. The only saving grace was Chardonnay, who despite clear discomfort from a knee brace, who did as much as she could to ensure issues were rectified to the best of her ability.

7 went for dinner Thursday night, 6pm. Lots of people with young children running around. I ordered spinach & ricotta cannelloni with salad. Salad was very tasty, cannelloni was dry, tough & luke warm. Daughter ordered slow cooked lamb, very tender & tasty but served with a very salty gravy which she scraped off before eating. Another person ordered 2 pork specials but only received one, he had to order another and received it when everyone else had finished eating. 2 others said their meal was OK, the other said his schnitzel was good. Very disappointed and went home to toast & cheese.
