Yes this property is super convenient but I really resent how little value you get for your dollar beyond that. It's as if they have said "you are a walk from the airport, what else do you want??" The room is minuscule, so much so you don't even have a full wardrobe for clothes. If you are even slightly overweight you can forget having a shower, it is offensively small and set in the corner of the bathroom. I'm thin and I struggled to turn around in it. The Ibis has been so stingey they have decided to withhold hair conditioner. It must have really hit their bottom line. I suspect there is an assumption that most people staying here are doing so at expense of their employer so the visitor doesn't care so much that they are being ripped off. 'Exploitative' is the word I'd use.

Wow. Best eggs bene ever! Great breaky spread for the weary traveller. Slept like a log, bed a tad hard but can't complain about anything else. Clean, friendly staff, great temp in the room.

Whilst I only stayed overnight during holiday travel, the experience at Ibis Mackay was great. A compact but very comfortable room overlooking Hay Point and the adjacent cane fields. The staff, especially those in the restaurant were fantastic. They really made for a relaxing experience - just what is needed after a long day travelling.

We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at Ibis Mackay. Very convenient, staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was terrific.

We had a great stopover again. We had to rearrange our booking from earlier in the month which was dealt with in a friendly & courteous manner to our satisfaction. Check-in/Checkout staff were great. We got a surprise upgrade and our dinner meal at the restaurant was very good.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t stay here again, well not for longer than a night. The room was good, the location handy for work and the staff were friendly but the food was probably the worst I’ve had at any hotel or restaurant. This was the time I’ve ever not finished a meal due to the quality and requested it to be taken of my bill. The prices are extreme for the quality of food.

The staff were amazing. John was able to assist us with our requirements which we thought may have been impossible. Very helpful checkin and check out personnel, and bar/restaurant staff could not have been more polite and helpful. I will always take the opportunity to stay there when we can.

- The smell of jet fuel can permeate your room. - No flight after 10pm , very quite area. - Flight announcements may wake you up as early as 4:20 AM. - The best rooms are on the west side of the hotel with windows facing south, as these are quieter. - The pillows are quite thick. - Free parking is available. - The hotel breakfast is not recommended; it’s better to eat in town. - I found loose nuts and a coconut water bottle under the bed, crumbs and other stuff under a desk , indicating the room was not properly cleaned. Recommendation: This hotel is chosen for its unbeatable location and convenience. It is recommended for a one-night stay, especially upon a late flight arrival or before an early flight. It is not recommended for multiple-day stays.

The experience at the Ibis Mackay was probably one of the worst stays I have ever had. The boom gate for the car park was broken the entire stay. Housekeeping kept coming into my room even when I left a sign saying ‘do not disturb.’ The table in my room was not cleaned or wiped down before my stay. There were noticeable cup and plate marks on the table from the previous guests. The hallway on my floor was never cleaned. Plates and bedding was left on the floor during the entire stay. The food was actually really dissatisfying. I’m the type of guy who really isn’t that picky with their food however, the steak I order was not cooked to my preference. It was hard to finish, the taste was horrible. I actually didn’t finish the steak due to the terrible quality which is quite sad as steak is generally the easiest thing to cook. I’m not a chef and yet I could cook a steak better than the one I was served. During checking out, I was not given the time to properly pack and leave. The reception said that they had overbooked and demanded I leave immediately on the day of checking out due to this. During the entire stay I did not feel welcomed and honestly just the general management of the hotel was poor.

Stayed here overnight after flying into Mackay for work. Hotel is literally across the road from the airport terminal. Rooms are ok size for a single traveller but not very suitable for a couple. It did have a mini bar (but no menu of costs in the room or on TV menu). Rooms are double glazed which kept the airport noise out and also have black out blinds. Bathroom was another story. Shower cubicle was tiny so anyone taller/larger in size would struggle and my bin was full of rubbish (from the previous occupant)! Dinner was good and 25% discount given to Gold Accor card holders. Breakfast however, whilst only $18 at time of booking the room was poor. Cereal was stale, coffee from the machine was undrinkable and selection of hot food wasn't good and included tinned spaghetti!!!!!!! Save your money and either pop over to the hotel cafe/s or wait until you get into Mackay to find breakfast. Parking was available next to the hotel (at a fee).

Stayed for one night. Good comfortable hotel room, surprisingly quiet for being next to the airport. Car park boom gate wasn’t working during stay which was a little inconvenient

Staff very helpful and friendly. Love good manners and good communication with heart. Accommodation close to my work, restuarant for meals. Easy, didnt need a hire car. Rib fillet steak was 10 out of 10. Excellent.

Staff standing behind counters with ibis shirts on claiming not to be workers when asked for help. One bar cashier member serving while the rest stood behind the poor guy chatting and ignored the full bar of customers waiting to be served. Took our table of 4 over 30mins to order food and drinks. Shocking service! Stars are only for the chef.

So incredibly rude. We walked in and said Hi he said Name I told him he then said Name again hence I said it louder. He said credit card I said here you are and got nothing back no response. He said room 999 and my husband said where do we park can we go in and out he said yes. That's the conversation. I very quietly pop my head over and asked if he was always rude? He said no and off we went. We paymkney kn the Accor club for the last 20 years. Seems yoy getctreated poor everywhere qith accor.

Not good value at $300 a night. Cushion on chair had horrible stains on it, like mould. Terrible pillows and hard bed. Tiny rooms - a shoe box, don't recommend.

Nice hotel. Friendly team members and the facilities are pretty good. Had a few issues accessing the wifi and pricing for mini bar. No list in room and online document didn’t contain. TVs need a bit of an upgrade as slow to work and connect

Never again, First impressions upon entry, rubbish lying in the garden beds, coat hanger leaning against the building and path ways dirty. This was also the same the next day. Upon entry to the reception the floor mat was worn and dirty. Rooms very small and showers tiny. Windows all round filthy. Carpets in lobby areas to the rooms dirty , numerous holes in the wall where they have tried to patch them up. When to get diner and no idea as to where to order a meal, so you have to go to the bar where everyone orders drinks and food. Luckily it wasn't busy. Ordered a steak with Béarnaise sauce, no way was it that it was more like herbed butter. Showed the waitress twice and didn't even look at it to confirm, done the same with the chef, again never looked at this. I stay at a lot of Ibis traveling for work and social but this one is a disgrace for the brand name. Will never return. On the positive good hot water and close to the airport but that's it. I am not one to complain about small items but this one tops the icing on the cake.

I was in town for a work conference, location was amazingly convienient. Service from staff were lovely! Room was great, bathroom and shower..? way too small to manuever around in. My linen had stains on them, there was rubbish left in my room, the floor hadn't been vacuumed, the windows and walls were dirty in the hallway and the carpet in the hallway hadn't been vacuumed either. This made me not want to eat at the restaurant downstairs. I instead went into town for dinner. I may have came on a bad week, i dont know but my first impression at this 4 star hotel wasnt great. I will put it down to lack of staff because while i was there for a few nights, i did not see many there and i had only saw one cleaner. If it were not for the friendly and welcoming staff i would not have rated it what i did. I will come and stay again because i believe reviews like mine are what betters a company. I wanted to post the pictures with this review but i would like to come back and see if anything has changed. Also, i did not hear one plane inside my room during my stay! Amazing. I hope my next review on this place is a better. Looking forward to my next stay. 🙂

Great hotel, but it is a bit of an island, and you are at their mercy when it comes to the cost of food. I really enjoy staying at this hotel. The rooms are nice, even nicer when you can get a view of the airport. The atmosphere is always very friendly, and the staff are honestly great. My only gripe is the food. While it's good value for what it is, and it's pretty good. There aren't any cheap eats, and you're kind of out of luck if you're a dessert person like me. Unfortunately even though conveniently located right next to the airport, it's kind of really far from everything else. It has a mini bar, during my last stay I had a pack of chips, a block of chocolate and two cokes and that was $32. My suggestion is bring some snacks or grab some while you're in town, because if you get peckish, it will cost you. There is a snack vending machine downstairs, but nothing really for drinks or dessert.

Glasses in the room were filthy. The rest of the room was clean and well maintained, can't hear the planes either. Food at the restaurant is overpriced, not particularly enjoyable and service at the bar is slow. It is positioned well for the airport, however if you don't have access to a vehicle you are at the mercy of the in house restaurant and mini-bar with no prices. (They direct you to consult the TV to get a QR code, to download a pdf that doesn't tell you prices)

Convenient location and comfortable room. Can’t hear the aircraft at the adjacent airport but the loud air con and fridge made up for that. Dirty bathroom sink and walls and the standard North Qld mould in the shower. Went to order breakfast in the restaurant from the ‘sides menu’ where items were individually priced - I was just after some simple avo on toast rather than a loaded plate from the main menu, and was surly told sides could only be ordered if you order a main meal. Daft.

Clean room, nice view, no noise given its proximity next to the airport, shower is quite small & may suit a lot of people. No toiletries supplied at basin only shower gel on the wall of shower.

Bed is comfy, glasses in the room were filthy.||Turbarlence, the restaurant downstairs has very slow service, terrible and overpriced food.||Paid for a $28 chicken parmigiana, what a terrible turnout on the plate. I've gotten more substantial servings from a pub $15 lunch special.||I gave it another chance after an awful pizza the night before. This has cemented my opinion and I will not be dining or staying here ever again.
