Wednesday night $12 porterhouse steak with chips & salad or mash and steamed veggies is a damn good deal.

We are here on holidays and we have visited Steelers for dinner over the last 2 nights. I have actually returned tonight with my family as the customer service has been exceptional. The young lady at the bar, Sarah, last night and this evening made my son his favourite soft drink. He loves “sour” fire engines and he said her recipe was the best. The young lady in the kitchen gave my son a sample of icecream to make sure that he would like it. This evening Kye at the front reception was amazing. Sign up as a member for only $8 and then it’s $12.50 Wednesday steak night! Melissa at the bar and Maeve/Abbey in the bistro were also amazing and went above and beyond to look after us. If you’re visiting Wollongong I highly recommend visiting Steelers! All of their staff are helpful and pleasant. Great food and well priced! The drinks are also terribly cheap and delicious

Very disappointing. Large black hair found in my daughters glass of lemonade. Fettuccine cabonara bland with no taste. Both pizzas over cooked.

This is a good all rounder club. Happy Hour Beers everyday between 4:30pm to 7:30pm and $10 cocktails on Friday and Saturday afternoons are very very reasonable. Most of the staff are friendly and willing to go above and beyond. It is a great idea to become a member, for extra perks. They have a cocktail bar, which is now under utilised. We're not completely convinced with the bistro, but some of their meals have proven the point.

The Steelers Club
I want to give a big wrap to the Steelers Club. I was impressed with how polite all the staff were that we engaged with on Friday the 1st June 2018. Everyone we spoke with was helpful, knowledgable regarding the area and extremely welcoming. We attended and for dinner and we were not disappointed. The meals were a good size for the price, well cooked, tasty and came out in timely manner.
It was a comfortable well designed and decorated venue with light easy going ambience. A give place to sit and eat and enjoy a few beers and/or a wine.
I will certainly eat here again at the Steelers Club when we next visit Wollongong.

The place has a much better atmosphere compared to the past. Happy hour 4.30 to 7.30 Fri to Sunday is a big bonus. Generally packed during happy hour. Good place to spend the night if eating there, but also the perfect place to start your night if dining locally.

The food is definitely worth the price I paid.
This particular item is called The Italian and is very tasty and filling and I’d recommend getting it. Chicken with mince meat and I think melted cheese on top and I chose the Mashed Potato and veggies as a side option.
All in all I’d definitely recommend this item and I’d definitely have it again.

Quiet in bistro area, the food is really nice. Prices are reasonable.
If you see meat that looks burnt, it's just I like very well done, 😄
I have eaten here few times and I will definitely come again.
Close to local transport. Receptionist was welcoming and he ordered a taxi for us.
For my experience at Illawarra Steelers I rate 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ordered a snitzel with gravey. Pretty simple. Served it without any gravy and told me sorry we have no gravy. I politely asked for a refund and I'll order something else. The restaurant supervisor LARA said with as much rudeness as possible "we have other sauses tomato sauce, aoili" after again asking for a refund, Lara rudely handed over the refund informing me that the restaurant closes in 5 minutes. The rudest woman I've ever spoke to. Must be hard for staff here

Nice place for a drink and a meal. The bistro closes at 8.30pm. We arrived at 8.15pm and they quickly made our meal and it was delicious. The staff were polite and helpful and didn't pressure us to eat quickly.

Nice atmosphere. Very clean. Does not have a play area for kids anymore but they gave my daughter a little colouring book and crayons. Food and service was great 😊.

I’m not generally a negative reviewer, so 3 stars is pretty low for me.
The club:
Great staff, friendly and accommodating
Gambling: old school but available.
Drinks: reasonable prices and selection
Entertainment: pretty good and successful at the raffle!
The food: generally ok, has improved a little recently.
So why 3 stars??
Had dinner and a few issues:
Our special steak night steak was::
Overdone - not a big deal I guess, it was on special after all.
A bit slow coming out: that’s ok, they were busy..
Had a foreign plastic object in the mash: a bit of a problem, but hey, let’s talk to the chef quietly about this.
The Chefs comment on the issue: No idea, because the gutless wonder sent 2 junior staff out to “deal” with it!
These poor staff were told to tell us “he stepped out,”..
In reality this loser couldn’t back his business up by owning the issue. We generally never complain nor ask for anything, but on the rare occasion we have an issue, we provide feedback, not asking for a refund!
Obviously this has pissed me off, otherwise I wouldn’t bother writing a composition, but this loser needs to own his restaurant’s mistakes personally, not palm it off on poor staff, that don’t cook or deserve to be grilled on poor efforts by the cooks..
Shame on you chef, or should I say shame on you cook!! A real “Chef” owns it!!

I just enjoyed a meal with family last night and I was left wondering why I'd stopped dinning at the Steelers, I can only assume it was a total brain fade. It really bought back all the great memories and the atmosphere was just so comfortable.
I had the Wollongong pizza that was amazing while the rest of the table chose the Schnitzel, I honestly didn't know chickens grew that big. I have to say by the end of our meals everyone was full, completely satisfied and we all got our leftovers to take home.
Scoring $250 in the pokies on the way out totally topped off a awesome night.
I'll be sure to keep the Steelers at the front of my mind next time!!

Food was OK a bit expensive and also didn't have more then half the things on the menu.

Disgusting and disappointing food. Expensive for the portion. The grilled chicken breast wasn’t even a full chicken breast it was cut up and dry. It took 40 mins to come. The t bone came with a hand full of chips.
The server kept wanting to clear our plates when wear still eating.

Club was ok. But restaurant is a no go. I got hardly any chips for my $38 dollar steak and the missus chicken was so dry we ended up going to Maccas on the way home instead. Not worth it, don’t eat here.

Cannot believe how bad the food was Sat night 12th August….my pizza was dry and burnt….his brisket sub was full
of fat. Relayed the information to waitress but obviously fell on deaf ears….

Came out from Sydney for day and this was the first place we saw with easy parking. Best meal we’ve had in a long time. The seafood was cooked to absolute perfection. Steaks were a little off the mark for cook but still so good. Kids play area is large and it’s own room so they are not staring at police machines. Will be back for sure.

Advertised a meal deal. When purchased not $12 per head but only for members $70 for non members and if you want to become a member takes 48 hours. Wow! That's outstanding.
