Well positioned country pub with great chef cooked meals, great range of beers and ciders. Clean rooms. Sufficient amenities...it is a pub after all! Id stay again.

This pub is permantly closed and up for sale. Beautiful old pub building though.

The initial service on ordering was so friendly and polite.
After an hours wait for food in an empty restaurant (Maybe others in bar?) And being told 10 mins and then another 10 mins and being rudely told that we had only ordered 55 mins instead of an hour ago ! we were about to get a refund when instantly our food was handed to me!
I was told they had been busy and nothing they could do about it! There was no apology and we were treated as if we were a real nuisance.
This was our last night in Armidale on holiday and ended on a real low.
The food once received was good.

The food and service was amazing. Definitely worth a stop. Was really busy at the time we visited and, clearly, I can see why.

Still the best venue for having dinner with a date, for business, for a party or enjoying a pint while reading in the beer garden. A proper pub!

Relaxed vibe. Open fire. Great rump with creamy mushroom sauce. Cold beer. Friendly staff.

Really great place for a delicious lunch. Pulled pork sliders with colslaw was a beautiful treat in the green beer garden

One of the last pubs in Armidale with that proper country pub feel. Generally quiet enough to have a few beers and a game of pool. Food quality is great for the price as well.

Nice atmosphere out the back, amazing steaks (a really great cut of meat), and would have given a five, except that our steaks were really overdone. (I ordered blue and got medium-rare verging on medium.) Still, I'll definitely go again - I'll just really emphasize how I want my steak done when ordering it. 😉

My little family enjoyed a late lunch there. Service was good..and the lady.. who was incharge if serving allowed us to have our lunch in outdoor beer garden.my toddler thoroughly enjoyed playing in the garden while we enjoyed our happy meal

Lovely pub. Disappointed with the service from the northern english lady. She wasn't particularly rude, but rather passive aggressive and moody. Its a shame, because the pub looks fantastic, but is missing the friendly service to match. Also, they way over cooked my steak. I asked for medium, they nuked it 😞

Customer service was great and the first place in weeks to ask for check-in proof.

I will always go back because it's hard to find a great pub in Armidale with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff.
There is always something happening at impies from live music to karaoke, pool and dart competitions.
Not to mention they have a fantastic outdoor beer garden which is unique for a pub here in Armidale.
Definitely in my opinion the best pub in Armidale.

It was a Sunday afternoon and we didn't eat there but hard to get a drink. Staff member busy texting in back bar. Lovely old style pub. Clean etc ...maybe we picked the wrong day.

Great staff. Great food. One of the few places in town that I have ever left not disappointed. Not over priced. Good sized tasty meals. Nice casual environment. 3 warm fireplaces in winter. Good pool tables.

Great country pub, great bands and beer. Very relaxed atmosphere. People and staff genuinely friendly. No one trying to provoke or push things on you

Covid safe, the service was good. The meals came out quick enough, classic good pub style food. The boys where able to play 🎱 after dinner while we watched. Very relaxed, lots of laughs.

BETTER THAN AIRBNB
Delightful old country NSW hotel with charm and history, and accommodation was clean, comfortable with and good food and drinks at the bar downstairs and a long covered balcony upstairs, perfect for a quiet beer or just to look down the street and watch the world go by.

Actually an OK option for food - the steak was good as was the vegetarian lasagne. Big portions served with salad and chips. The beer garden is a nice place to sit when it's still warm and there was live music when we were there.

Accommodation - king sized bed with crisp white sheets and a marble fireplace - secure deadlock on the door. Clean shred bathrooms. Great value.
