Will never step foot in this place again. We were there to celebrate a friends birthday, had been in there around an hour, had been socialising with different groups laughing and joking and having a good time. We were at the bar and had just ordered a round of drinks when 6 security guards came and told us we need to leave. As we had no prior warnings to what we had done and weren't being rowdy we were a little confused to say the least, they wouldn't explain what we had done but nevertheless we agreed to leave calmly. Once outside we asked the security guards what we had done... They came back and said one of the bar staff said we were being racist towards Asians. To put it into context one of the guys in our group had previously lived in china for 5 years and became proficient in speaking Chinese. We had met a Taiwanese guy in the smokers that also speaks Chinese and my friend wanted to buy him a drink. We were stood at the bar and my friend was practicing his Chinese with the guy. From the bar staffs prospective this would of been unusual seeing a white guy chatting to an Asian bloke in Chinese but they should of been able to read the body language and facial expressions to understand my friend wasn't being racist in any way shape or form and they were both just enjoying conversation in the Taiwanese blokes native tongue. Once we had found out what the reason was my friend tried to plead his case with the security but they weren't interested in listening to any logic what so ever. To be labelled as a racist is absolutely disgusting and seriously offensive. If your bar staff can't read people they shouldn't be given the power to get groups thrown out because of their own ignorance. This is my second time visiting this place and the first time we were almost thrown out because the security guards thought we were fighting with a guy in the toilets, luckily the guy seen what was happening and ran over to them to explain we were actually laughing and joking and not fighting at all. The live music is good and the people in the place are good but the bar staff and security seriously need some training on how to read a situation and also how to address it. If your looking for somewhere to celebrate and let your hair down I wouldn't recommend this place, the fact I have only been here twice and both times been involved in situations through bad judgement from the staff is outrageous. Overall the place has a dingy vibe, floors are sticky, toilets and other areas are unkept and dirty, bar staff are rude and have zero character. Pretty much as far from an Irish bar as you can get.

Very handy pub right next door to the hotel I was staying at. Had live music every day, so it's not your "sir down for a chat" kind of place. Decent range of beers on tap, with friendly staff. Had the Aussie Parvy for dinner one night, was excellent (a big portion too!).

The battle of lunch steak special in Brisbane CBD. The sixth venue of 10 places. Available on Friday. $19 for a steak and $2 for the sauce, which they don't tell you. 200g rump. Fantastic choices for the condiments. The steak came in 15min. A great presentation. A fantastic amount of food for the price. Ordered medium, came perfect M. It was a chewy and sinewy steak. Chips were slightly under done. Salty mushroom sauce. The salad was ordinary but loved the dressing. A good Irish atmosphere but lots of construction workers who were having a liquid lunch. 36 points out of 55.

Place is average on all accounts . Very little done with it over the years and could really do with some renovations. Average food , Average atmosphere. Pretty standard plastic Irish pub and given its location is really not making the most of what it could be. Has great potential but falls well short of a good pub.

Noisy pub but the live music makes the crowd noise bearable. Good live music too. Friendly staff, decent food and drinks.

Nice place with great food and beer. I ordered a medium Porterhouse steak and a pint of Kilkenny beer. I will definitely come back to Irish Murphy's when I visit Brisbane.

Nice place but just an average bar overall (which is not necessarily a bad thing since Aussie bars are generally good). Disappointed they don't have any red or amber ales, so if you drink Fat Tire or Bell's back in the States then good luck finding a similar beer. Bangers and Mash had good quality sausages and gravy, but the mashed part wasn't the best. Wanted to order a Shepard's Pie but they dont offer a minced beef version. Again, not a bad place, they just don't offer the items I like.

Murphy's vibrant atmosphere is a fun place to go for a nice evening out. The friendly staff also entice and ensure the outing is relaxing and welcoming. Numerous events are hosted here adding to the interest. Monday night Bam Duo performed. The leading artist is very experienced and a fun entertainer. The beer is fresh draught and, as you would expect in an Irish pub, great!! The bonus here is that if you have had a few beers the public transport is available just outside the front door.

I recently dined at Irish Murphy's, and I must say it lived up to our expectations for an Irish pub. We opted for the classic steak and bangers and mash, accompanied by a delightful Guinness side dish, and everything was delicious. The ambiance was enhanced by the continuous stream of great music, and the staff were not only helpful but also kind and professional. My friend even remarked that the bangers and mash here ranks among the best, only slightly behind 7th Ave in Midland WA – a high bar to meet, but we have no complaints. We'll definitely be returning.

I know this is a popular place and as it's normally crowded I figured it must be good, so tried it one night after work (Jan 2018) for drinks and dinner. I was bitterly disappointed. The wine list is not very extensive (yes, I know it's predominantly a beer place, but given it's 2018 most decent pubs today offer a reasonable wine list), and for the price I paid for a small glass of wine, I'm better off paying a lot more for a bigger glass of decent wine elsewhere. Then it came to the bangers and mash. Perhaps the chef's taste buds are not working properly - this was SO salty I got through an entire litre of water while trying to eat the meal. We had already ordered our meal and were half way through our drinks when we were asked to move as a band was about to set up where we were sitting. Geez, why not just cordon off the area beforehand instead of having to relocate people and inconvenience them? My friend enjoyed his beer and beef and guinness pie, and the decor is quite nice. It's these two latter points that encouraged me to give 2 stars. Sadly I won't be back. I reckon unless you're a beer lover, and you're not too fussy about your food, then go for it. Otherwise just try elsewhere.

Great place to stop, watch some sports and have a feed. We came here as part of our Christmas Party and ended up playing some beer pong out the back! The staff were accommodating, welcoming and enjoyed our company. It was a good way to spend the day and we thank Irish Murphy's for allowing us to have a good time! Cheers!

Great Irish pub in the CBD. Popular for the live music and good atmosphere on most nights, weeknights are great for the live music efforts and for being a solid pub to attend for kick ons. Quite a lot of space in there upstairs and downstairs

From a stayer at accomodation nearby many floors above, that has to listen to the loud banging music from the pub that seems to continue into the well late dark nights.

Food was great, Decent atmosphere. Service was average. However the pint of Guinness we had(we had a few over the last two days) was terrible. Probably the worst I've had in Australia to date. Staff need to learn how to pour it to start a quick tutorial on YouTube would help here. There's no need to swirl the glass or tap it on the counter before topping it. That kills the pint and flattens the head. 5 Stars given for the food, 2 for the pint, 3 stars for everything else.

Decent atmosphere, nice music and service was good but disappointed with basic food. I’ve been here many times and I often ordered fries, fries never crispy, always soft and taste bad even I mentioned with the staff, still soft. never get better.

Best service i’ve ever had. Rain goes so far above and beyond every time i come in, it’s hard to find that these days, especially in such a demanding job! Helped me during a very difficult time when he didn’t have to all the while providing top service to everyone around. A must-visit for every CBD trip, i even make the walk from the valley when i’m out and about!!! Worth it 100% I’ll be bringing everyone here. Come for good time, stay for the caring staff like Rain

Ate here last night, steak tough as old boot leather, couldn't even cut it with a steak knife!! The meal was extremely salty, yuk. Don't know how they think pumpkin & fetta is a salad that goes with steak 🤷 Music would have been good if it was not so loud, couldn't even talk across the table, never again, should have just gone to Gilhoolys, at least the food & music are good there.
