門口寫要會員先入得，但原來你係門口交一個證件俾佢scan就得。佢有個每日special，我嗰日就係炸雞胸，我覺得都幾好，酒要喺另一邊自己買完拎返過餐廳飲，價錢算幾實惠，如果我留多幾日應該都會再試。

日本人もパスポートがあれば入れます。入口でチェックがあり、席に案内されます。メニューはカウンターに注文しにいきその場で支払い、テーブル番号を言っておくと料理は持ってきてくれます。飲み物は別にあるバーカウンターに買いに行くというシステムです。とても安くてボリュームがあり、曜日によってお得な料理があるようでお年寄りの皆さんもガッツリメニューをモリモリ食べていました。

Yikes.
Definitely avoid if coming from out of town. Do not expect the RSL experience of Sydney.
Staff were uninviting and uninterested. We bought the special (chicken skewers) they were microwaved ten seconds later and still cold! We politely asked to have them heated further, staff members very nose up at us, and still brought skewers back cold. We just left without eating.

Wonderful facility - amazing food and staff who made us feel so welcome. We had a very large family gathering who travelled from Mudgee to North Sydney to be together. Thankyou - we will be back.

What a wonderful club! Their COVID strategy was one of the best Iv'e seen at a club - mixed with appropriate humour! Food was sensational as was the service. Nice work!!

We went there with another family seven of us and even though we turned up at 07:40 on a Sunday evening, Joshua at the Red Brasserie was very welcoming and accommodated us
The place was almost full which provided comfort
We ordered Two Vegetarian Pizzas, Double serve of Brushettas, Double serve of Another kind of Brushettas and Butter chicken with Rice and Naan Bread along with drinks etc
One BIG thank you to NOT forget vegetarians and include plenty of good options on the Menu

We were there couple of weeks ago, once we entered the restaurant the waiter shouted loudly to my 3 yr old son not to touch any table while he could actually had said that to us his parents!! My son is still traumatized, he still reminds me everyday with the man shouted to him. We left the place immediately of course. Terrible hospitality skills!

We were staying in Wentworth Falls and decided to check out the local RSL, the free courtesy bus was great. The T-bone steak was delicious. So much so that we went back the week after! Totally recommend

We were picked up by the courtesy bus from Katoomba Falls tourist park... fantastic service. We had a flavoursome garlic bread and my husband had a delicious prawn risotto, and I had the scotch fillet steak (medium rare) with vegetables (still had a yummy crunch to them) and a delicious mushroom sauce. Great food, great service with super friendly staff. We wish we had something like this in South Australia.

We were not even able to taste the food before having to leave due to the appalling lack of consideration from any of the security or management staff. A band were doing the longest and loudest sound check I have ever known, and I was in the touring band circuit for many years so I do know. We asked for a door to be closed, or the band to lower the volume so we could hear our conversations. The response was eye rolling and arguing back that nothing was able to be done. It was the most unprofessional response to a customer asking for something to be addressed I have ever seen. Since there is well over a century of my family being members of the RSL this is a pathetic end to what was once a place you could go to and be treated fairly.

We were a family of four having dinner. Very happy with the service and quality of the food. The Covid protocols in place also gave us extra piece of mind. Happy to return again next time we are in Katoomba.

We went to this place the first weekend it was opened in 2019 for the Elvis Presley weekend in Katoomba. Great acustics to listen to live singing. So many events on.
This is a beautiful new RSL with brand new everything. Only just opened and well worth the money they spent on building a new centre.
Many rooms and also has a pokies room. The chairs are comfortable. They have meals and drink's that are well priced. The staff are happy helpful and friendly.

We went to the RSL for dinner on Mothers Day. We were greeted by lovely, smiling staff, and I was given a flower for Mothers Day.
The food service was fast, the price was on point, and the restaurant staff were all so friendly.
Highly recommend.

We went for lunch, from the moment we arrived we found the staff very attentive and helpful, the food was above average. Prices were average. Would recommend.

We visited Blue mountains on Sunday 17th of July 2022, we then attended Katoomba RSL for lunch, while the food and serving members and the gentleman at reception was so lovely and polite, the lady at the cashier (at the red poppy ) was so rude to the point that I was embarrassed in front of family members who have travelled from Canada. My point is if you can’t be nice and polite, do not work in customer service.
I simply won’t come back to Katoomba RSL.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Katoomba RSL. Very friendly staff throughout venue. Our meals were generous in size, very well priced and we all loved our choices. Wish we lived closer as we would fast become regulars. Thanks for a delicious dinner.

We stayed across the street and dined twice at the Red Poppy Bistro. The staff at this restaurant are hands down the most helpful, friendly and lovely people. We were so impressed with the service, the club is clean and spacious and the food is delicious. Not to mention how swiftly it came out! Our kids were made to feel welcome which was the icing on the cake. From our very first interaction with Joshua, booking over the phone, right through to the moment we left we could not have been more favourably treated. Every single staff member was clearly well trained, and committed to a great guest experience. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back. Five hearty stars!

We rolled up around 5:30pm on a Saturday and were told that we came just in time, because the place would fill up quickly. You'll see it was pretty empty then. Within 30 minutes the place started to rock as customers poured in. So, if you haven't booked then arrive early.
We ordered a chicken scalopini each. I also had a Bilpin Pink Lady Apple cider. Both were delicious. The service was friendly too, particularly the bartender.

Went to visit the new resurrected club. Initial reaction was that it was spacious with nice vaulted ceilings. Being new it was lovely and clean and very well appointed.
The restaurant looked very upmarket with prices to match.
Mixed coffee and sitting area with ample seats and tables.
The gaming area was very nice with brand new machines.
Staff was super friendly and made us feel very welcomed.
Definitely am improvement in the old club. We are looking forward to sampling the fare.

Went to the red poppy restaurant for a meal. Service was good. Couldn't believe how fast the food was going to the tables. People didn't have to wait long for there meals. Loved the meal I had. Spinach, pumpkin gnocchi with chicken yummy. I recommend this place

Went to the red Poppy Brasserie for lunch. The staff at the RSL are really friendly. Service at the brasserie was excellent. Food was really good with large servings and heaps to choose from.

Went to poppy’s brasserie tonight. We had the chicken scallopini and grain fed steak. The wait to order food took 20mins. The food took at least 45mins to arrive. The steak was okay. However the chicken scallopini wasn’t. It was very bland and the sauce was super thick. The wait staff were good and friendly. Parking was easy. Seating was comfortable.

Went there for Mother's Day, and everything tasted great. My niece enjoyed the Fire Engines and playing in the arcade room. They have raffle you can enter in each week with lots of cool prizes to win. They have musicians come to perform there every now and then in the function room. All round, a good RSL.

Went here for dinner last night. Waited 15 minutes in line to order. Then waited an hour for food. 30 mins after we ordered I asked a waiter how much longer it would be and she rudely pointed to the sign. When the food finally arrived it was absolutely disgusting. I received 5 bony chicken wings. They were so dry and burnt with next to no meat on it. There was a drop of chilli sauce so zero flavour. I didn’t know chicken could be cooked so badly! Chips were undercooked and my partners pizza was burnt on the edge but soggy and undercooked everywhere else. Worst food I have ever eaten but after waiting an hour we were hungry so we ate and got out. Extremely disappointed. Try old city Bank or Family Katoomba instead!

Went for dinner on a Sunday night, halloumi fries were delicious, however salt and pepper squid was disgusting! My husband had the chicken parmy and I had the Angus beef burger which both weren’t great.
Plus lip stick marks on a “clean glass” to round out the night! Probably won’t return which is a shame because we are locals.

We hired the auditorium for a family book launch and were given amazing service in setting up the audio visual equipment. The staff made themselves available several times throughout the days leading up to the event. The catering was generous and the support was excellent.
The price was reasonable but that's not why you should consider booking the room there; they invested in our function and were instrumental in making it a success.
Thanks to the team there, we greatly appreciated the effort.

We have eaten here twice, food is delicious. The RSL only reopened in August 2019 after a fire destroyed the old club in 2017. The club is well layed out with plenty of seating areas.

We had lunch here on Sunday fish and chips,roast of the day.Both meals were really nice.Please get rid of the piece of paper on the plate under the fish/chips,halfway paper got stuck under my fish when cutting with my cutlery.😊

We had dinner there tonight. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. We arranged for courtesy bus pick up and drop off back in Leura. Special mention to the courtesy bus driver who is very friendly. Highly recommended.

We had a very good experience in the past, so we stopped for lunch again. At 12 pm they told us they are not ready yet. Fair enough, however, at the same time a bus load of people who just arrived, were allowed to simply stomp in, ahead of everyone else. We left and we won't go back.

We had a delicious dinner with table service at the Red Poppy Brasserie. The staff were all very professional, friendly, courteous and helpful. We were astounded how well the tables and chairs were cleaned down after diners left. Dining area is modern, atmosphere is very pleasant and tables are well spaced
The meals were fairly priced considering the quantity, quality and presentation of the food. Drinks were well priced. Good range of wines.
Overall It felt like we had been to a classy restaurant. We wish our local RSL was to this high standard!

We came to RSL for diner (4 adults and 2 kids). All food was very basic or bad. We paid $100+ and just left 3/4 of plates. Do not recommend this place.

Was there to see Akmal which was good but the venue was too busy to get a table or food beforehand. Kitchen was closed after the show so that seemed like a missed opportunity for the club. Difficult to get fed in this town!

RSL is very nice and clean if only I could said something nice about the cook in the disco,..
after receiving a chicken schnitzel very uncooked I gave it to the young girl to take back happy for just my chips and salad to come back and would of called it quits but I watched the young girl take back to the cook and with that the eyes rolled and making it like I was just a winger

WARNING ⚠️
Went to the poppy restaurant last night, ordered the crumbed chicken and it was served very fast. Unfortunately it must have been laying around precooked and reheated and I ended up with very bad dose of food poisoning 🤮🤮🤮.
Very disappointed as it has ruined the holiday for my family. I had to cancel the Jenolan cave tours and the Scenic world tours and lost all my money.
I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU EAT THE CHICKEN IF IT IS SERVED IN A FEW MINUTES AFTER ORDERING IT.
Very unhappy, I was vomiting 🤮🤮🤮 and had loose bowels for 48 hours and didn’t get normal bowels for 72 hrs after consuming the crumbed chicken at the RSL.
When I complained to the RSL they said it could not have been the chicken as no one else had complained and totally disregarded my request to see the head chef and senior management of the club. They others who ate it were probably in hospital on life support.🥴🤮and unable to complain.
Very poor form for such big club.
I give the Katoomba RSL Zero star ⭐️ review if it let me.

It took like 5 minutes to finally get to order and after I ordered it took 1 hour for the food to arrive and when I got the food and it was cold it wasn’t even hot so when we gave it back they wanted to precook it but we didn’t want them to it took them like 2 minutes to bring it back and it was very hot after but the waitress aren’t even working well when I checked if my food was ready one of them was on there phone when they were supposed to be cooking peoples food when I asked one of them was being really rude the waitress are also very rude it has really bad service when I also got my food I had disgusting 🤮 chips that tasted really bad a dry burger that also was disgusting 🤮 the service is horrible I rate this place a 0/10 I REALLY DONT RECOMMEND YOU COME HERE IM NEVER EVER COMING BACK.

Visiting the Blue Mountains and staying in Katoomba. Decided to dine at the RSL club and pleased we did. Front desk and seating concierge were so friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing but neither of us finished our meal. We didn’t feel we were sitting too close to other patrons. Do yourself a favorite and call into Poppy’s.

Very nice venue. From the moment I drove into the carpark everything was welcoming. Thorough Covid checking and registration was done at reception in a very nice way. The function room was well equipped including data projector and sound and very nice to present in. Meal was excellent and the menu had good variety and choice

Food is not that good for the price considering the small to average menu. Mostly from being overcooked & dry. Hopefully there is an improvement. The food before the fire was also not that good. I think they are just cooks, no Chef.
In saying so, the staff/cooks are very friendly.

Very friendly and professional staff, COVID rules explained concisely and well and the food was served in timely manner.
However the quality of the food was dismayingly poor. The most disappointing meal was kids linguini with cheese and Napoli sauce. The pasta was so overcooked, stogy and gluggy that my daughter and her friend had to cut their meals with forks. To add the insult to proverbial injury the sauce was abysmal - sticky and sweet (any cheapest home-brad sauce from a jar would taste better). Just because it's a kids meal it should mean it's poor quality food!
My steak was well cooked (medium rare) but incredibly tough. A very poor quality meat for the price charged.

Very dry pork Sunday roast. Raw chicken, gave another one but still undercooked, refund given after rude staff member wouldn't accept that it was undercooked. Otherwise average food. Good bar.

Very crowded, waited 90 minutes for food to be delivered. Meals were average and prices are higher tgan you would expect from a club.
Friendly service and lovely decor.
Very limited car parking.
To be fair, it has only been open for a week.

Very clean and we'll set out. We only went for a meal. Door man very polite and helpful. The 2 x ladies at front of restaurant lovely. We were shown to our table by a man named Dean, for his service I would definitely give him 110% the ladies behind the counter taking the food orders were 2 of the rudest people I have ever come across. Food was average. I would not recommend it. We won't go back. The 2 rude ladies killed it. If you can't be polite why turn up to work ???. No they hadn't had a hard time as it was about 30 minutes after opening the restaurant.

Very bad communication. I left my debit card at the RSL we contacted the front desk the next day they had the card would keep it until my son picked it up the following day as the guy at the front said he'd mKe a note. Son went to pick it up, was told as policy it had been cut up and thrown away? Not happy after contacting them and being told it would be there for collection. Let's just say we won't be returning to the RSL anytime soon.

Trying for the 3rd time under new owners in Red Poppy Brasserie, but still extremely disappointed from start to finish from customer service to meals. All meals have been cold and to the point of returning back to the kitchen. I know this is a learning time for new owners just hope they get back to the quality of food and service as previous owners for customers and the RSL. Also we are thinking of having a function at the RSL but Due to the quality of food and service in the bistro may need to look elsewhere for our venue. Hopefully not as my heart is set of this RSL.

This place needs inspection by authorities and their books also need review. The place advertises itself as a Chinese restaurant, the staff are Chines, but the dishes were unrecognizable. My wife's soup was apparently straight from a can and barely edible (how do you manage that!!), her dumplings were probably from Aldies or Costco and disgusting. My very simple traditional Australian meal was a massive disaster. It was like it was made by a person who heard a discription of the meal in a conversation they overheard on a bus. Really, the place needs to be cleaned out and any licenses involved suspended until the qualifications of all involved are checked.

This place is epic in it's grandeur. It's so large and so flash, the food was a little bland and portions were a little small on the healthy stuff but the beers and atmosphere was worth it!!

this is the only RSL that I have been that doesn’t service any complimentary drinks except water. membership cost 10 dollars per year.
the only thing I like about this place is the restaurant that serves good food although price is 2 dollars more since I am not a member. tried their pizza and it was freshly made. it was an absolute divine.

This is a really modern and nice Club. Popped in for lunch whilst driving through Katoomba and was surprised at what a nice venue this is, just a little way off the main drag. Worth a visit, friendly staff and had a good meal.

They just made my Valentine's day! We made a past minute booking and the dinner was just perfect! The bruschetta, the steak and the parfait, all of them were so good. And it was so nice of them to manage a great table by the window for us in such a short notice on the busy day! Thank you!!

The worst food ever! Inedible, when we complained, nothing was done. All we got was a generic response from the waitress that sounded like she had repeated that apology the whole time she'd worked there.

The vibe was nice. Classic RSL. We ordered S&P squid, kids cheeseburger and a scotch fillet. The squid smelled and tasted like burnt beef liver so they offered something else when I mentioned it. The kids burger wasn’t cooked through & they gave me a free dessert for the disappointment. The staff were apologetic, happy to correct & quite lovely. My family recommended here and spoke highly of it so I’m guessing it was a one-off.
I would try again but would stick with steak or pizza.

We were here for dinner right before new year Eve. We didn’t have any booking and all places in Katoomba was booked out. Rsl team accommodated our family. The food was good and very reasonable price.
We definitely will come back when in the area.

The service was fast and fantastic as for the food,it was DELICIOUS , I had grilled Barramundi and fresh salad, with chips. Fish cooked perfect , as were the chips and salad was great. I have many food intolerances and the staff and chef really looked after me. Thank you to all at the RSL Katoomba staff. The end of a perfect day in the Blue Mountains.

The rsl still has teething problems..ordering food still takes too long and gaming should not be allowed in the bistro area. Bought caKe from cafe and was told should not be brought into bistro area...ice cream had to purchased seperately from bistro. Average service. Also need window coverings as the sun got to hot in afternoon.

The rebuild from the fire that destroyed the rsl has resulted in a modern well planned a nd great looking new club. The restaurant is excellent, drink prices are quite reasonable and the staff ared very good. Well worth a visit.

The most amazing RSL I have visited. The staff were so inviting and warm, the facilities are superb and their COVID-19 Safe Plan is the most impressive I have seen by far of a hospitality venue. The extra measures and attentive staff made for a lovely stop in for dinner; a pity we are not local to them to return and continue to support their business. To top all this off; their medium-rare steak was on-point and phenomenally delicious!!

The food was overpriced and absolutely disgusting. The eccentric waiter was a bit rude. I went up to find cutlery as they gave 5 sets for 8 meals. He asks "excuse me what do you want" in a very sharp tone. They don't have any form of cocktails or mocktails like 99% of other rsls in Australia so majority of our party were upset.
This is what we ordered:-
- Buffalo wings taste like pigeon dipped in whatever collects on the ground under a deep fryer.
- Salt and pepper squid was okay but menu says Mayo and comes with seafood sauce which I can't eat.
- Fish and chips asked for no salad. Got salad. Fish was overcooked and stuck to the paper underneath so I couldn't eat all of it.
- chicken scallopini was interesting to say the least.
- Roast looked directly out of a microwaveable meal kit.
- pizza was paper thin. I couldn't even call it pizza.
- seafood medley was over cooked and smelled off.
Over all I HIGHLY recommend to go elsewhere as there are plenty of restaurants around katoomba that actually have food that passes the health and safety inspections

The food was horrible. I had the seafood basket and it tasted as though each piece of seafood was pulled straight out of the freezer and thrown into a deep fryer. The prawns were not fresh. Being from SA, scallops should be served with the roe on and then crumbed. Some pieces of seafood I couldn't even recognise. They then chocked up the plate with chips. The dining room looked like a supermarket food court. Dirty tables and poor service.

The service however was 0/10, I've never written a review, and whilst I had spoken to managemnt I just feel I needed to share publicly as the service tonight was quite a traumatic experiance. I had just lost my mum very unexpectedly and after a tribute to her had come for dinner, I was using a dine and discover for my order and paying for another with a members card, as there was alot going on I was unsure of the process etc. I already was just frazzled after losing mum, and the waitress was incredlibly rude, at one point rolling her eyes at me as I didnt present my coupon or memebrs card as she expected me to, and for me jokingy saying "I'm at uni it shouldnt be this hard" and her reply was "yeah me too". I understand she may have had things going on etc, people have bad nights and thats ok, but I had a few people approach me in the line and say that her behaviour was very out of line. I'm ok in my grief for now but ild just hate for someone going through the same thing experience this and be in tears over it like I was.

The food and beverages are excellent in the Red Poppy Brasserie. The site is well decorated and spaced with COVID safe environment. We received warm welcome by Paul in the front seating desk on arrival. The staff are so friendly and helpful with every aspect, from simple cutlery to a glass of water. They never reject any reasonable request. We love their serving and hospitality manner. In our two days‘ stay in Katoomba, we visited the club twice.

The Bistro's menu caterers for all tastes, including vegetarian, and after several visits the meals have all been excellent, well above other clubs/bistros and restaurants! The staff are the most professional and friendly I have come across. Highly recommended.

Terrible security staff. Not on point at managing car park - giving excuses on behalf of errant and arrogant drivers. Was told by the security staff anyone could park in the carpark however they wished to. Parking in the handicap lots without a permit was fine apparently.

Talked the family into going to the RSL instead of another place and were disappointed with main meals, Burgers dry, all main meal vegetables undercooked and chicken schnitzels also dry, never have we had mushroom sauce that was so watery and when we told staff they said nothing.. when finished Staff saw plates that had half eaten meals and never asked at anytime how they were when removing from table. Staff at the RSL were generally friendly and efficient, and it was a very busy three days.
Our experience in the bistro was variable. We were at a music festival, and mainly because it was convenient, we had meals at the RSL’s Poppy Brasserie a number of times, sampling the menu daily for four days.
Nice bruschetta, impressive pizza. The sundae seemed to be the dessert of choice.
It felt very expensive for the portion size and food quality. We had different mains each night, so we gave the menu a workout and left with the same impression each night. However, the clean tables and comfortable chairs made it more appealing than the festival food experience. Plus, it was a lot easier than going into town for dinner.
They have a robot called Poppy that takes food to the table, which is novel.
We did have the experience of ordering meals, having different meals arrive, and then a staff member coming over to “prove” the mistake was not theirs. The staff member held the printout of the order close to my friend’s face to insist that they had made what she ordered. Not my friend’s mistake; theirs, and they then prepared our meals as ordered without any further protest. Surprising. Also, what they had charged for was more expensive than what had been ordered. They did not offer the overcharge back and we did not ask for it; too much trouble.

Staff are welcoming, friendly and super helpful. However, do not order Chicken Nachos EVER from the Brasserie, other meals are good and edible. Tortillas were burnt at the top, and under was crumbs, the sauce is passetta with red kidney beans, no flavour, chicken was torn up chunks of breast, again no flavour. Cheese was cold plastic. Wouldn't feed it to pigs. Kitchen staff are rude.

Soup of the day was horrible.It had no flavour and was bland.Was supposed to come with a bread roll but got a slice of toast.Butter was $1 extra. Two star rating only because staff were nice.

Sorry, but we were not impressed with the ravioli.
The desert and coffee were great.
My friends had other main meals and they loved it..
One dish not liked, out of all the rest, is not that bad.

Some much better old the old place
I have just come back from the club, and now I will only give the club two stars. The reason why is that a family came in with several young children. And the parents did not survive the children at all.
No one from the bar or from the reception asked the parents to control the children.
If the club wants children in the club, there should be an area for them to play in soundproofed ( like other clubs have )

Sitting at a table of 10 first to order so order steak chips and vegetables wait for 48 minutes everyone else at the table is almost finished and they ask is there anything else you are wanting for just the steak.
So cancel order got money back poor service and poor food staff didn't even apologise.
I've been coming here for 40 years this is the worst time I've ever had here disappoint.

we had a bad experience with the food in The Red Poppy Brasserie
I ordered a rump steak and it was cold, the salad with no presentation and dry, the fish and ships also was cold and unflavoured, The only good food was the Mediterranean vegan pasta and the garlic bread
the staff too serious and didn’t smile a bit
I wouldn’t recommend to nobody to go eat there and for sure not to go and eat past 2:30pm
With the kitchen closing at 3:00pm
They served the food like in a hurry

Recently visited Katoomba and as a former Navy man, the RSL was the place to start. Staff were more than friendly, food was fair priced, plentiful and ticked all the boxes and most importantly, the beer was cold. Had a feed there twice following the good tucker first time. Will defiantly go back when I am in town.

Rebuilt and newly opened after being burnt out several years ago. The club is a beautiful venue - spacious and nicely decorated. The restraunt is large and offers an extensive menu. Plenty of beers on tap and a nice gaming room. There is also a large showroom. Coffee and snacks are also available at the bar. Well worth a visit.

Really rude to people visiting for no reason. I came in to use the bathroom and they were strangely combative. I mentioned that my grandad was a war hero that grew up in the area to see if they would lighten up on my way and they were very hostile. Just a really gross attitude to have towards strangers. I don't think my grandad would have appreciated that either.

Really nice RSL. Front door staff were lovely and up for a chat.
Red Poppy Brassiere was a perfect bistro. Definitely book before you go as they get really busy but they have so many lovely waiters and cooks that food comes quick and tastes great.

Really friendly staff and the door man was really helpful. Unfortunately the kids play area is really disappointing and I wouldn't recommend it for family's with kids. I realise it's covid times but It hardly has anything in it and the sign says adults must supervise but there is no where for adults to seat and it's in a really bad position. The food was good

Really delicious meal and one of the best places to eat in katoomba. The food was hearty and wholesome with excellent portion sizes and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Had a really nice evening. The staff were attentive to covid measures without being overbearing. Can't fault it at all

Porche restaurant in Katoomba. Plenty seats available and parking is available for members. Membership price is quite cheap and you get discounts for food as well. The price of food is quite reasonable for the standard of restaurant is offering. Washrooms are available and it's all maintained. Tried the meatballs, garlic prawns and lamb pizza.

Popped in for dinner while visiting the area, our local RSL was always amazing so thought why not. The schnitzel was nice but the “Diane” sauce is the worst sauce I’ve ever eaten, debatable even calling it a sauce it was inedible. The vegetables were mushy and overcooked, mash was tasteless. Wouldn’t recommend based on that meal.

One star only because I know they were super busy. Food appalling, worst experience ever at an RSL. We had one main dish plus side of veg as wanted small meal with plenty of veg. Took over 30 minutes. All veg, both with main and side of veg totally undercooked and borderline inedible. I took back the side to complain that it was 70% basically raw carrot, received a new bowl 70% basically raw broccoli and zucchini. No wonder everyone eats burgers and chips! Asked could we have some mash to replace the veg and told no. Zero care. Won’t be eating there again.

My husband was harassed by the security guard for looking "intoxicated" before we were even let in, we didn't even get to have a drink before we came. we had a booking for dinner and we were denied entry. the security guard was very unprofessional and put in the effort to make smart comments to my husband and i and threatened to "ban us forever" overall this experience was disgusting and wouldn't recommend this place

My family and I had a terrible experience at Katoomba RSL Red Poppy restaurant. We have travelled from 3 states to get together over a meal. All 8 of us sat down at 6pm Saturday 25th March. In the auditorium a band was setting up playing very badly and very loudly. It was do loud that we couldn't talk to the person next to us let alone anyone else. We spoke to the restaurant concierge, RSL security and management and were told. We can't do anything. We spoke to the band and asked them to set up without the volume and were abused. We and other restaurant patrons left and will never return to the RSL nor the upper Blue Mountains ever again. This isn't acceptable nor tolerable and I very strongly suggest that you fo not go to Katoomba RSL.

Lovely restaurant- new and spacious. The food was overpriced and lacking. Ordered the Mediterranean Lamb, got a lot of mash, tomato and a few small pieces of lamb. Left feeling the meal wasn't complete. The bruschetta was ok, bit soft. The chicken Parma seemed to offer better value and look more satisfying.

Lovely and new building. Friendly staff and bright restaurant with lots of light coming through the huge windows. The cafe area has nice sitting area with comfy seats and fire place.

Loved the place, it is a quiet place. For entry, you need to show ID. Everywhere is clean.
In the showcase, there are Turkish and Japanese arm things.
I saw one letter it is written by Ataturk to the Australian soldiers I think for Anzac Day.
It was nice to see this kind of connection.

Long wait when place was packed but we noticed the 45 minute wait sign after collecting meals.
Very annoying they don't have self serve water available and you have to wait for them to get it behind bar in the fridge.
I thought it was a requirement in Aus to have a lot of easy access water around alcohol.
Our chicken meals were cooked juicy and flavoursome. The chips and veg were not great but not bad.

Katoomba RSL, recently refurbished, is a delightful place to visit for a special occasion or just for a casual lunch.
Specifically, I have only visited The Red Poppy Brasserie, the RSL’s in-house restaurant; once for my birthday and another for dinner with family. Both times I was pleasantly impressed by the service and delicious, well priced meals. The food is also portioned appropriately and leaves you satisfied.
The Chicken Scallopini and Barbeque Grill Plate are absolutely divine, as is the Barramundi Fillet.
During the day, the RSL offers wonderful views of Katoomba and the streets below, while at night, patrons are wrapped in a warm ambient glow offered by the poppy flower lights and drape curtains.
After eating lunch or dinner, you may help yourself to the delectable dessert options. I would highly recommend the Warm Bread and Butter Pudding.
Overall, Katoomba RSL is the place to go, whether you would like to gaze upon artefacts of war, or enjoy a sumptuous plate of food. The staff are welcoming and friendly and make the experience all the better. Thank you Katoomba RSL!

Katoomba RSL is a very nice club up in the mountains about halfway between Katoomba station and Echo point. It was always easy to find a car parking spot there even on a Saturday night and the atmosphere in the club itself was very pleasant and civilised. I don't recall there ever being any loud band music but maybe I was lucky. I was always able to find somewhere to sit quietly and enjoy my beer or to start a conversation with one of the other patrons. My only reservation is about the nachos that I bought from the restaurant one evening. They were dreadful. I managed to find a few of the corn chips that were not burnt and I just left the rest. So I don't recommend the nachos.

Katoomba RSL is a beautiful, friendly and well run club. It is only a few years old, replacing an old premises that burned down with a large, elegantly designed space, containing separate areas of Lounge and Bar, Poppy's Brasserie, gaming areas, and a dedicated Show room. Both Poppy's and the Show room have separate dedicated Bars which operate as needed. Staff greet everyone with a smile and are eager to welcome and offer assistance as required. This is the same from Reception staff to Bar Staff, to Poppy's staff, right through to the Cashier Desk where you go to book tickets for Shows. Dean in the Red Poppy is an absolute gentleman and runs the expansive dining area to perfection, never flustered even on the busiest of nights. The wait staff in the Red Poppy have been well trained, are always welcoming and carefully explain to newcomers how the ordering process works. On big nights, such as Live Shows or Car or Holiday Raffles the place is seriously packed. The sign at the ordering queue is constantly updated to let people know what the current wait time for meal preparation will be.
I'll make a couple of points re specific negative google reviews here as they, I believe, single out staff members unfairly..

Wrong. The steak shown in this person's own image is clearly well done as they have requested. Perhaps this person thinks it should be cooked until it is black. Dean is never arrogant or rude. He is always a complete gentleman to everyone.

Wrong. Front desk staff do listen to complaints about people parking where they shouldn't. They check and find out who owns the car or motorbike. They go and find them and get them to move their vehicle.
Last night, there was a motorbike parked in a car space which could easily have parked to the left or right of the entrance doors. I needed the space as my husband uses a wheelchair and the adjacent disabled spots were taken. Staff found the motorbike owner and came outside while he moved his bike. When I went to drive into the space, another car owner shot in front of me and attempted to take the cleared space, giving me the finger when I objected. The staff member immediately told him to move back so that I could utilise the car space. Staff were polite but firm and made the other driver aware of my specific request and need for the space.

My note:
Wrong. Horrible personal attack on Suzie who works in Poppy's Brasserie. Attached photo by Fiona K shows tables not in the Dining area. Suzie can only allocate diners to tables in the Dining area. It is up to other staff in other areas of the club to sort out seating in those areas, which they then did. This was a completely unwarranted and dishonest attack on Suzie, who is always helpful, friendly and gracious. As a partner of a wheelchair user who is always greatly assisted by all staff at Katoomba RSL, I find this review to be deceitful and objectionable.
There are other dubious reviews given here on Google, but I urge people to give this lovely club and the lovely staff members a try. My husband and I come here weekly and truly appreciate their hospitality.

I understand that this place is very new.
Unfortunately our experience there mostly involved a whole lot of waiting (at the restaurant). 10mins in line to order, and then 45-60 minutes wait for food.
Once it did arrive, the food was good and the portion size generous.

It's a pretty decent RSL... and very modern and spacious compared to the original version, gutted by fire in 2017.
Was there to see Herman's Hermits, so the restaurant was completely overflowing. Had more success the following night, but unfortunately the meals were all a bit average?

It’s an RSL, in terms of food, you’ll get what you’ve came here for 👍 sauce selection is limited, but again it’s an RSL. Staff (bar staff, door man, etc) are all friendly 🙂 (& patient with the fact I didn’t know how to use NSW service app to check into the venue)
Went here after all the other venues kitchens were closed, not what we planned but glad it was an option

I ordered this meal with no vegies and no salad so they over flowered my plate with chips which most landed on the table...I asked for well done.. medium and grissle around the steak horrible.. waited 20minutes paid $32.00 wouldn't have minded if it was edible.. I am a member and will Never return.......and the fellow at the front desk arrogant and rude goes by the name Dean..

I'm sitting at this restaurant-Golden Dragon right now and left fuming. The service has been just downright appalling. One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. When asked questions the wonderful waiter, he has been kind enough to point out that I probably came from 'the land of curries ' and hence would know better about the dish in question .The first time my buttons have been pushed far enough to pen down criticism and negativity. Thanks tons.Golden Dragon- you are an abomination to hospitality.

I meet for a craft group there every fortnight and really like the venue. Comfortable seats, great natural light and the coffee isn't exorbitantly priced. The membership isn't expensive and if you get it for 5 years, you actually save $20 .

I’m actually really saddened to be reviewing badly as previously our experiences here have all been fabulous. Tonight we went with a larger party for a family dinner, it started with an incorrect entree. When we approached the staff (and genuinely thought we might’ve been given someone else’s food) so we were kind and friendly, staff responded very rudely, not just the wait staff but also the chef. Then we started getting our mains while we were still waiting on entrees so we politely stated “I think we’re still waiting on some entrees” again were issued with a rude response and told we had all ordered at different times so the food would come out at different time. X4 entrees were ordered by the same person.
For the remainder of the night every time someone came to drop off food or pick up plates we were spoken to rudely and without care. When we were asked if we had everything and we stated we were missing a bowl of chips, someone actually came and said “apparently you’ve already been given them”. When we said we didn’t have them they actually checked our table to see if we were telling the truth!
Unfortunately a dismal experience this time round and very off putting

I just had my "Mixed Grill" areive at my table. Overcooked egg, fritz, questionable sausage, small ratty looking steak and chips. Less than impressed. $22.80 for one of the worst meals I've had.

I have had many meals at Katoomba RSL but sadly today's Lunch left my friends who had come from Drumoyne quite upset, and I doubt they will return for a meal. The hamburger patty was raw, it was mentioned to the Cashier as we were leaving. My chicken schnitzel was nice, but my vegetables were cold. Sorry to see the restaurant as it was today.

I had dinner here and thought it was a beautiful club. The staff at the front desk were extremely welcoming and very thorough with their covid procedures which made me feel reassured. Dinner at the Red Poppy Brasserie with my husband was delightful. He had the grilled meat plate and I had the warm Thai chicken salad, which were both delicious. I wish we were locals as I'd love to visit again.

I grew up in the mountains and the old rsl was so good food was great, when there today for lunch found the food to be way over priced ordered 4 items off the menu and it was over $60 2 entrees and 2 mains just way over priced and then when I was ordering the lady at the counter was so rude to me will not be going back anytime soon, prices need to be dropped we do not need more bougie places in the mountains think about the locals.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service provided by one of your staff members, Suzie, at Katoomba RSL Club on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at approximately 1 pm. Our experience with Suzie was unacceptable and left a significant negative impact on our group outing. We arrived at the club as a large group of ten people, including disabled, senior, and child members, with two relatives visiting from the UK for their first time in Australia. Despite our request for seating for all ten members, Suzie informed us that all tables in the restaurant area were fully booked. However, upon further exploration, we noticed numerous empty long tables without reservation signs. When we questioned Suzie about the availability of seating in those areas, she pointed us towards sections with tall tables and stools, which were not suitable for our group, particularly for disabled individuals. When we inquired if there were any disabled-friendly seating options, Suzie responded with disdain, claiming that all seats in that area were indeed disabled-friendly. This interaction was not only shocking but also deeply disappointing, as it felt discriminatory towards our group, especially given that we are all local customers. Furthermore, Suzie's dismissive attitude only exacerbated the situation, leaving us feeling unwelcome and disheartened.
Eventually, we were assisted by the bar staff, who kindly offered to combine three small tables to accommodate our group. Their helpfulness was in stark contrast to Suzie's demeanor. I have attached a photo illustrating the abundance of empty space without reservation signs, which contradicts Suzie's claim of full occupancy.
I urge Katoomba RSL management to thoroughly investigate this matter and address the concerning behavior exhibited by Suzie. Additionally, I request that measures be taken to ensure that all customers, regardless of their ethnicity, receive fair and respectful treatment at your establishment. Our experience at Katoomba RSL Club on Easter long weekend was marred by this incident, and it tarnished what should have been a joyous family gathering. I sincerely hope that steps will be taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I absolutely love this place!!
Every time I go to the blue mountains I have to go here to try the carbonara. It honestly is on another level. There’s also a dessert that is a hot cake in ice cream and the different temperatures work together very well.
The arcade is very good for kids to play in and the area itself is very cosy.
It has some of the best customer service I have ever seen at a restaurant.

How did this place get good reviews. Not much open on a Monday night and because we had kids came for the playroom. Which ended up being the worst we have ever seen. Food was awful. Staff were nice apart from one grumpy old man who seems like a boss and shouldn't be in the service industry. Come on Katoomba up your game

I visited after a full day at the Blue Mountains, so it was much needed! The food was delicious, big enough portions, dessert was also amazing and a decent sized portion. Would love to go back here whenever I get a chance to visit the Blue mountains again.

Had on the second attempt a decent meal. The first choice was nothing like the photos on the menu board. ( Chicken and lentils soup) Into the bargain the soup was like warm. However without any problems they exchanged for bangers and mash which was excellent.

Had a wonderful meal in your Red Poppy Brasserie this evening 19th October 2020. From arriving at the dining area and being met by Joshua who was delightful, polite and obliging, directing us to our booked table and introducing us to Suzy who was also delightful and super efficient and talked us through the process which has been set in place within the covid restrictions.Steak cooked to perfection and Lamb Rump also tender and fantastic flavour. The kitchen is open to the dining room and all the staff seemed to work quietly, efficiently and effectively. From the ordering to the delivery all smoothly executed. This made for an exceptional dining experience. Thanks and congratulations.

Had an afternoon tea there for my daughter's wedding earlier this month. The food was delicious, the staff were courteous, professional and helpful. The facilities are excellent - I would not hesitate to go back there or to organise an event there in the future (if we were not living interstate). Had a lovely lunch here recently! We are both vegan and ended up coming here after reading that they had good vegan options. The food was amazing! Big portions, and vegan options for so many things. We had the vegan chilli con carne, bruschetta, and the noodle salad with tofu. All food was excellent and came out within reasonable time. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy. It was very busy so I would recommend booking. I would definitely return here in the future.

Great venue. Great selection of food. But didn't enjoy the BBQ sauce on chicken schnitzel. Too much sweet sauce over powered the really well cooked schnitzel.

Good to see community centres like this. It’s so important that we maintain connections with each other. Have to say though, when we went there for dinner, there was way way too much PA announcements and it was very loud. It’s as if the guys speaking wanted to be heard. All we wanted to do was eat our meal and speak with each other across the table, but the announcer was constantly talking on the PA/mic.

First time here with the family for a dinner out tonight. We ate at the ‘Red Poppy Brasserie’. The service was fantastic, the food was great, didn’t take too long and the venue was humming. Very COVID safe and clear in communicating the rules.

First time back since the club was rebuilt and i was very impressed.
The main area is large and relaxed with a very nice atmosphere then we had dinner in the Red Poppy bistro and the meals where excellent. The Pork Belly is delicious and all the meals where great. Definitely worth a visit.

First of all, yes, I am an ex-employee of the RSL, so this could be biased. However, this is just from an elderly couple that is sitting in the cafe that I work at currently…
I asked them if they ever went into the RSL before because I thought I may have served them while I worked there. They replied saying that they used to go there but now they are not allowed in because of their “vax status.” I advised them that is also the reason I am not allowed to work there any longer.
How disgusting that the RSL has shut out people like they have. Isn’t the RSL supposed to be an open and welcoming place for all locals. This poor couple and all the others that have been shut out. You should be ashamed RSL. I hope you are forced to wake up soon. Your reputation is sinking quick.

Felt unwelcome after staff complained that our dogs were in our van. The temp was 14c , our van is set up very comfortably for them with fans, security windows open and food and water for them ect. Our van was also in our site. Left without eating our meal feeling very discriminated against. Definitely do not recommend

Fantastic COVID protocols, good food.
However this was heavily tarnished by our very unpleasant encounter with the pretentious and abominably rude bistro manager, Paul.
Immediately upon arriving, Paul ordered myself, my partner and our children to form a straight line similarly to a chain gang whilst he delivered "the rules" to us. He addressed my children directly, threatened them with a "one strike rule" and ordered them to remain in their chairs at all times. He announced that if there was any "silly business" he would have us all removed immediately from the building, "even if you're in the middle of your meals". The children were shaken and confused, particularly my autistic 11yo son, who was frightened by the encounter and scared even to use the toilet during our visit. We ate as quickly as possible and left directly. We will not be back. Please consider sending Paul for customer service training in order to make future guests' visits more comfortable.

Extremely nice dining view and decent food. Currently quite strict covid compliance which I support, however be prepared for an extremely rude and arrogant staff member who manages the entrance to the restaurant dining area inside. Despite following directions from another staff member, the Greeter attempted to embarrass and humiliate myself and my disabled mother for a simple mistake infront of other patrons quite loudly and attempted to justify his attitude by stating that "I am just doing my job so that we (the RSL) don't get fined".
This experience has left us not wanting to return to this establishment anytime in the future when we wish to visit family up in Katoomba (which is a regular basis)
Otherwise very hospitable staff who did their best to make us feel welcome despite the militant antics of one of their co-workers.

Drove from Parramatta to take my mother for lunch to celebrate her 95th birthday last Wednesday. I ordered the rump steak $30 which was cooked to order and the grilled barramundi $26 which also was good. The salad which came with the two meals was very disappointing to say the least. It was a salad which you can buy in the supermarkets in a bag which is loaded with purple cabbage. Unless you enjoy these cheap salads go for the vegetables. For my $30 steak I expected a lovely fresh homemade salad. The club ceiling lights with the poppy covering is beautiful as well as the floor to ceiling glass wall in the restaurant. I will not be in a hurry to dine here again.

Dropped in off the street & luckily got the last available table for service. Meals were excellent & well prepared & presented. Staff were friendly & very courteous. I had a rare steak that was absolutely beautiful & it is very hard to get a rare steak in such a busy environment. Can highly recommend The Red Poppy Brasserie. The club itself is clean with friendly greeting & reasonably priced drinks. Can highly recommend a visit for anyone visiting Katoomba looking for a nice place to enjoy a drink or 2 & enjoy a top quality meal.

Cosy modern atmosphere, smooth jazz in the background, delicious food, hearty servings, and top service with a smile.
I've visited The Red Poppy Brasserie several times now, with all the family and just a few. Lots of vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc options and staff are always willing to customise a dish to suit your needs. My favourites are the vegetarian pizza and the vegan chilli con carne.
Don at the front desk will greet you with a smile and point you where to go. Paul at The Red Poppy is your go-to man for finding a table at short notice. My advice is always to make a booking, and ask for a window seat if you can get it. You won't be disappointed.

Compare with other ones didn't have different vegan options. We ordered two vegan dishes and a vegetarian meal, but the staff brought us three vegans! We didn't say anything.
Also should say it's good to have an RSL club in Katoomba.

Compared to comments from a few weeks back we got our food in less Than 15 minutes .
Quality was ok but nothing to call for a second visit . The meat plates all come with chips/salads/ vegetables and will say they are the ones to go for.
Pizza was average, sauce and cheese let it down. Seafood platter was the highlight, loaded fries are tasty.

Chicken was dry and obviously reheated from a previous days production.
Most dry piece of brisket I've ever had, another left over. Glaze was tasty.
Mushroom sauce doesn't taste like mushroom - more of a white cream sauce. Did find a small chuck of mushroom, must have added to a different sauce. Not very good.
"Roasted onion" was barely cooked
Pork belly nice and juicy.
Don't go early as you'll get reheated leftovers.

Lots of parking and you are greeted with a warm smile as soon as you enter. The place is nice and clean!
The food at the restaurant was pretty good. Sunday roast with gravy $16.00 and bread/butter pudding $12.00 for non-members.

Awful food served for lunch and reminded me of the food I was served as a kid in the migrant hostel.
Ordered the roast chicken dinner and it was extremely dry as were the potatoes. I would suggest that it was cooked a long time before and kept in a warmer so the club could cater for international tourists. It came with a little gravy but was so dry that I went to the kitchen area for some more gravy. The young man said gravy was $1 extra. I said that it came with gravy but was so dry I would like some more. He stormed off in a huff and returned with a small jug of gravy,
Our granddaughter had the cheeseburger kids' meal, and the burger was very dry and rock hard. She spat it out.
The club appears to be concentrating on catering to tourist coaches and ignoring the needs of members who they have now forgotten supported the Club during Covid restrictions. I will not eat there again or renew my Club membership.

A very nice pit stop in the blue mountains. The bistro food were delicious and generous. The chicken parmy was big enough to feed 3 people. The pepperoni pizza had more pepperoni than I expected and not to mention a big portion. Lovely friendly service as well from all staff.

As locals we've been coming here for the last few years around 1 to 3 times a week. each time the usual waiters ask us if we've been there before ??? just like he asked us today so jokingly we replied it was our first time. he stone faced proceeded to drill us about the covid rules and the locations of the clubs amenities bar and where to order on and on he went.....this brought to my mind the movie 50 first dates and left me wondering if he was an android in the guise of a human or the other way around 🤔. due to this lack of friendliness and warm welcome other things have started to bother me about coming this club eg walking in is like walking in to a maximum security jail it's bad enough with that then getting the most unfriendly treatment in the restaurant and the workers all say it's their job but a greeting and common courtesy would make the unpleasant process of their club and covid rules more bearable. I've given a three star rating as we'll still be coming not as often though and only because there are no other clubs near by. The club would do well to train their staff in customer service.

We had a couple of drinks and a meal. The prices are very good and the food was good, although not “wow”.

Amazing! We came for three days from Sydney and it was the semifinal (basket worldcup) australia vs spain. We asked if we could watch the game and at the beginning they said they couldn't change the channel but then they did everything to play it. Thanks!

Amazing service, the nose friendly staff. Very good and clear and strict covid rules (understandable and very impressive, did not affect our visit at all, it was very efficient and made life much easier). Lots of space. Fantastic food, large servings and very fresh and delicious. Also left on the women's cricket, great to see. Will be back

Although it has only 1 restaurant, the food was amazing.. and the staff were cheerful AF!!. Haha so good to see that and they conducted themselves in a very professional manner. At moments i would forget that i was in an rsl. Lol.
Price was very reasonable. Great variety. Highly recommended.

After such a gorgeous welcome at the front reception by 2 lovely men, the experience was less than ideal. Having a beautiful young woman with an intellectual disability and ordering a child’s meal seemed beyond acceptable. From the walk passed our table after ordering, to the rude waiter delivering the “child’s” meal to a table of 3 adults, our beautiful daughter is 25, made us feel uncomfortable. For an organisation that clearly supports employment of people with physical disabilities, maybe it is time to reflect
On your interactions with people with other disabilities. Thank you to the 2 men on the door. Your compassion was second to none.

After hearing good reports about the food in the bistro, I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. All our meals were well presented and tasted great. Love the new look RSL and I shall be back!

After a day walking up & up & down & up, a great watering hole, food is good too. My bed is just around the corner, clean warm & comfy.

After a day out visiting the blue mountains, our family stopped for a quick bite before the long drive home.
We honestly could not fault a thing!
The service was fantastic, and the food was even better than the service!
I highly recommend the lamb rump roast!
For the price, the meals are huge, and super filling.

Worst meals we have had while away for 2 weeks - squid was so overcooked it couldn’t be cut with a knife, dry and chewy. The fisherman’s basket was tasteless having no flavour.

$23 for a chicken schnitzel meal you only get 10 chips and a chicken the size of your hand their sauces are disgusting tried gravy and mushroom sauce cost taste bland and cheap out of a packet heat up microwaved and their coke taste like 90 percent water and abit of coke syrup in it

치킨까스 일괄 주문.
막!! 맛있진 않지만 괜찮습니다.
양은 많아서 먹고 모자랄 걱정은 안하겠네요. ^^
식당은 깔끔하고 좋은데 추천까진 못 하겠네요.

투어 중 식사를 위해 들린 곳입니다. 치킨 슈니첼이라는 음식을 먹었습니다. 붉은 개양귀비가 포인트가 되어 좋았네요. 바로 튀긴 감자와 슈니첼이 맛없을리가 있나요. 가족들과 즐거운 식사를 했습니다.
