Went to the Keilor East RSL for dinner last Friday night. Had not been since before COVID. Was very impressed with the renovations. The place was very modern and lovely. My husband and I were only planning to stay a short while, just for dinner and a drink.
However, the Friday night entertainment was being performed by Chuck, who we thought was wonderful. Played so many memorable songs. We ended up staying right till the end!
The place was full and with a buzzing atmosphere. Chuck got people up on the dance floor, which was full all night. Hubbie and I had a great night, thank you and looking forward to seeing Chuck perform there again hopefully very soon.

We had seniors chicken schnitzel. Very ordinary. Chicken was chewy, which made it unpleasant to eat. Disappointed. Usually RSL meals are good. Maybe chef should check out Pascoe vale RSL. They do an excellent schnitzel.

Very small car park. Went to attend a meeting from my work. Cant tell about food or service. Looks clean and well decorated inside.

Very disappointing food. The Roast of the day was not even Turkey and proper ham. It was prepacked meat. as every slice was neatly cut NO taste whatsoever. Bland and unacceptable for a bistro. For a Friday it was very quiet. Should have something off the menu, to see how they cook those? Also, we had a hovering waiter that looked more like a security guard watching and passing over our table. As soon as we had finished something, off went the plate. Not good for restaurant proper manners.

Staff are lovely as are the customers, someone always up for a chat. Drinks are expensive though and the machines don't seem to be frequent winners, well not for me anyway ha ha

Polite Staff greet and assist you. .Beer and food excellent.
Nice clean premises and glasses and plates not left in front of you when empty. OVERALL VERY IMPRESSIVE !
I hadn't been there in many years, but I certainly will be visiting more often. 😊 😀 🍻 Cheers.

Not a good experiences as I don't play pokies much
I asked the lady next to me how do I reserve my machine she replied just hit the information button and you can reserve the machine
So that's what I did unfortunately I didn't know how long the machine is on reserve and I went and had a smoke
Not knowing all the rules of How long reserve lasts for on the machine
But now I know
A old lady come along and stuck her ticket into my machine and played my money this old lady who did this is getting away with it because she is old
As Far as I'm concerned it Stilling and I'm not happy about the out come
So basically if you're old and play pokies and
CANNOT SEE YOUR ALOUD TO SPEND OTHER PEOPLES MONEY
Unfortunately I got the old dishonest lady that the staff have NOT seen before
management said they can't give me a refund because of the way she sat at the machine and put her tickets into see my balance
This is very disappointing as I had just paid a 12 month membership
The staff where very nice and I understand were there coming from but at the end of the day it was my money NOT THE OLD LADIES
So basically if you're old,
you can acted like 3 yr and get away with it

Nice place, clean and food not too bad. I take my elderly mother who likes the pokies. I don't approve of gambling but she is 92 and they look after her even contacting me if there's a problem. They provide coffee and tea.

Mother's Day lunch was very good, but it was meant to come with a free drink for the Mum's, but I didn't get one. My husband ordered the drinks and paid for them all. Maybe next time, you should do a drink voucher that gets surrended to the bar like you do for the kids meals. Other than that it is a great place. I would have given 5 stars, but lost a star for this today.

Medium-to-large-sized club in terms of membership on a medium-sized premises with parking onsite. The forecourt has a couple of ex-military items the details of which are:
- Quick Firing (QF) 40mm Anti-Aircraft (AA) Bristol Bofors gun, Barrel L/60 (likely MkI) of unknown manufacture, breech-ring and autoloader both of unknown manufacture, Breech Casing No.L[8]0[3?] MkXII manufactured 19[??] by Otis Fensom Elevator Works Canada (OFE/C), on saddle MkXII No.12117 manufactured 1942 by OFE/C, and platform MkII No.P-10007 manufactured 194[?] by OFE/C. Other examples of Bristol Bofors can be found at the RSL clubs of Pascoe Vale, Fawkner, and Watsonia, but none are in well maintained condition. The Fawkner example is the most well preserved in terms of visible marks.
- Muzzle-loading (ML) 4.2in Smooth-bore (SB) mortar MkII No.6[5]47 of unknown manufacture on MkI Mobile Baseplate Reg No.[?????] manufactured c.1940s by [MC]O.
Staff at club were friendly and more than happy for visitors to photograph these items so long as they are respected.

Lovely RSL with that older style welcome feeling. Really feels comfortable and a throwback in decor to a more relaxed time. Great pub grub... Had a wonderful Parma & chips washed down with cool beer.

Fantastic staff and food is reasonably priced and very well presented. Undergoing extension building works at present with lots of on-street parking. Lots of day trips to choose from for members. Fun night tonight with member present for members number drawn. Yoohoo! Everyone very happy for them.

Dinner on a Tuesday night.
Good environment, plenty of seating.
Prices are average, plus.
Good array of menu items.
Friendly staff.
I went for Bangers n Mash. Was quite good.
My friend had roast of the day which he reported was very good.
Well recommended.

Came here with family for dinner & as I was the first to arrive I was told that the bistro is full(at 5.30pm on a weekday) it was completely empty though I believe I was told this because I’m heavily tattooed and they were not wanting perceived undesirables in the venue.
I waited in the smoking area until my family arrived to which I told them it was full over the fence, though they proceeded inside without the same notice from staff. As soon as staff seen me with my family they came up and told us all that the bistro was full. My family who frequent this rsl also questioned the many empty tables, to which was not explained just “they’re full”. Everyone was confused and very frustrated.
Very rude as we were happy to wait for a table to become available but they seemed set on not seating us.
Ended up going to moonee ponds racecourse which the meals where much better for price compared the well below standard meals usually served at east keilor RSL.
There’s much better RSL around than this one based on food alone.

Bistro Saturday 13/1 was disappointing for a special occasion. Was told the Porterhouse steak sold out at 1830 and rhe bistro wasn't even half full. Mmmm
Ordered 2 steak dinners. 1 medium rare and 1 well done.
45 mins later, the well done order arrived but was charcoaled (black) and a few minutes later the medium rare arrived and was well done.
Back to the kitchen.
Take 2: Sometime later, wife received her well done steak (mostly medium rare) and I got my medium rare (well done) so we swapped our steaks.
The 3rd person at our table had and finished her meal before we got ours and she ordered after me.

Attended Parma night. Good value including a drink. Did not receive correct order for eight people and was not delivered all together. I think may have been incorrect table. Very disappointing.

Always made to feel very welcome. Member or no member. Support th e members as they support them. Catering well organized, I've seen birthdays young to old, anniversary, now a wake for my brother in law,supported the family and his wishes and showed respect for his service in army,well done gentleman and ladies for that farewell for him.

A beautiful and quiet place to visit. It's terrible that I can't remember what I ordered for dinner. Only remember the food is good but the size is a bit small for my appetite.
