We were in Adelaide for Easter and stayed at nearby apartments so decided to have lunch at The Kent Town Hotel with family. We had our little dog with us with no issues. The service was excellent, staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. We will definitely be back next time we're in Adelaide.

We pop into The Kent Town Hotel first starter drinks, last night we watch the footy and smashed down many cocktails. They had the The French Martini down to a fine art and when we asked for a shot they waiter said I got this and cam over with what was called Peanut Butter and Jelly shot!! Omg!!! What an amazing little drink to sip away with on a cold winters night, this warmed our bellies, was the BEST!! Thanks for the great service ♡.

Visited for dinner with friends and it started off well with entrees but unfortunately it stopped there. Main I had a beef wellington which was overcooked beef, served on mash and had gravy poured over it. Very soggy and not enjoyable. The staff were friendly and the server was apologetic and removed item from bill as I only consumed the vegetables.

Very nice place which is newly renovated. Oozes class, good vivbe & trendy setting! Multiple rooms for whatever style your feeling, fine dining to casual + rooftop deck. Games room with pool table and arcade machines. Very cool sweets "lolly room" for when your finishing off your meal in a dirty way 🤤🤪 Kitchen in full view for guests to see, in house cellar door for take aways. Food offering is great. Pizzas were nice, Salt n pepper calamari was ok however the serving size was pretty dissapointing & definitely not worth the $$. Expect to pay $$$ on your visit but still a great place to visit with friends & family.

This pub is fully renovated and is a vast contrast to what is was like many years ago. Staff appear to be very new to the hospitality industry...food was very nice. We will definitely try it again down the track when the place settles in. Give it a try...

This is now very much an upmarket hotel, prices reflect the venues renovation. Yes, pricey, but we all enjoyed our meals, excellent service and the ambience. Was a quiet lunch with only about 8 tables being used, less than 20% capacity. Would we go back....yes definitely.

The worst schnitty I have ever eaten, something I didnt think a pub could stuff up.... Overcooked, to the point of being inedible. Crumbing totally disconnected from the meat. Dripping with so much oil it was sloshing on the bottom of the plate. something they think was salad, but looking more like carrot peelings with some dressing on top, totally inedible. Had to pay extra for basic gravy.... $30 for rubbish food. And dont get me started on the debacle with staff not knowing how to take payments from guests on a person by person basis.... If I could rate o stars I would

The most incredible service by Tom in the bar - recommended the perfect wine, a fabulous meal, just what we both needed after a long day when too tired to make decisions. Great energy, kindness and good humor - thank you!!

Such an amazing old school traditional style pub. It has modern lighting with traditional stylings. I love the chesterfield features throughout the venue. It’s an Adelaide must if you want a quiet beverage just out of the city.

Repeat dinner here but possibly the last time. Waitress spilled considerable amount of curry on my partners dress whilst leaning across the table to serve another dinner with us. Received a sorry from the waitress. Nothing from manager on duty. They sent a request for review which I provided and a direct email with no response to either. Obviously very little regard for their customers.

Not a big reviewer but... A really well renovated and presented pub but had a really poor experience with the service. Ordered a pork schnitzel which everyone at the table thought was suspicious. Sent it back and was offered "do you want to us to bring back the salad and chips". Not can we get you anything else. Apparently the chef was going to try the schnitzel but I had to ask when I paid the bill what were the chef's comments. Apparently it was ok as it was delivered yesterday (being Saturday) so must have a good butcher who delivers on Saturdays. So I asked Paige is this going to stay on the bill and she said yes. So I can't be bothered arguing over a $30 schnitzel amongst a $250 bill . A real shame as a great spot but to take no responsibility and Paige's ambivalence means I'm not going back. To be fair the other meals were good but the lack of accountability for the one meal spoiled the afternoon. Be interesting to see if the manager reaches out as they have my number

Nice new renovations and great menu. Visited a few times following the new upgrade and the food was very nice. Decided to try the breakfast on a Saturday morning recently and we were not disappointed. The food was good, the coffee was excellent, the staff were extremely friendly and the prices were very reasonable. The open fires in winter are wonderfully warm and very cosy. Extremely good value for money. We'll be back and would happily recommend to family and friends.

Menu in the restaurant was very confusing around wether or not dishes contained gluten, ultimately the waiter we had confirmed with the chef that only a few menu items were gluten free, despite the menu saying all items were gluten free unless marked otherwise. The waiter said the menu makes sense 'if you read it three times'. On average the food was... average. Most dishes had cold chips and burnt burger buns. The porterhouse steak was cooked as ordered but was flavourless and tasted mildly burnt despite not being burnt. The sides were the highlight here. Service was good, apart from the confusion around the gluten free options. Wouldn't come back purely based on the lack of quality in the food.

Lovely old pub with a nice reno. The staff were friendly enough but the service wasn't the best. The food was very good but the desserts were average. The hot crusty Cobb loaf of bread is a must. I found it odd that what I ordered from the menu was changed by chef and I received different items to what I thought I ordered. I did tell our waiter and then quickly received what was originally on menu. Our tables were never cleared after we finished eating which was annoying as we were there for a few hours. Staff seemed very young and inexperienced. Has potential but needs help. Hope they get it right soon.

I am only giving one star because I see that this place responds to reviews. I would give it zero for our experience Second time here, but never again. Service is average and food is shockingly bad. My wife’s comment was “I didn’t think they could kill Salmon twice!” Burnt and overcooked to death. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken - got given some other dish (sorry, but the waiter was hopeless). When I hurriedly received my dish, it was half cooked, tasteless and the WORST Pad Thai ever. Seriously, a lovely place RUINED by its food and service. Avoid at all costs. Do yourself a favour and forget this place.

During the Easter celebration, I invited the family to the Kent Town hotel given our previous positive experiences with the venue. However, our recent visit fell short of expectations. The quality of food that was prepared for our family was well below standard. Some of the food was burnt, undercooked, there was bones, nothing felt like it was made with love, which made our experience as a whole very underwhelming. When we did try to express the faults to the manager, instead of being considerate, he talked back in a very unprofessional manner with a cold attitude. I unfortunately will not be dining or recommending here again.

Duck Liver Pate was superb before enjoying the Crumbed Pork Fillet. Young Tom is a treat to meet. 😁 Returning soon to try more from the great menu selection. Thanks for the specially made Brandy Alexander.

ALLERGIES - the care and due diligence is highly lacking. When I ordered my meal I specified my food allergies and checked the dishes were able to be done. This conversation happened between THREE different people (checking with each other) who all assured me I could eat the dishes I wanted to order. The rest of our 5 person groups meals were served, albeit with long waits in between - some people had already finished eating by the time the rest received theirs. I still waited even longer. After another 10 mins from the last person being served, someone came out to advise one of the entrees I’d ordered couldn’t be done due to the allergens and asked whether they could replace it with another meal. I said yes and checked that the next dish would be ok, which again I was advised that it would be. By then the other entree had arrived which I started eating. I started to feel increasingly unwell but didn’t think anything of it. The new dish eventually arrived (everyone else had finished eating at this point), only to see it still included my specified allergies. I struggled to get home and once there suddenly felt “tired” (which I wasn’t at all beforehand) and basically passed out. Once I came to, I looked at the menu online again and after some research realised the main ingredient in the sauce of the one dish I ate was the allergen I had specified!! So in hindsight I was actually having an allergic reaction and I'm thankful it wasn’t worse. The only reason I’ve given more than one star is because staff were kind enough to provide a refund for one dish without too much drama. However allergies can be serious and luckily it didn’t end up worse for myself - but it easily could for someone else. After checking MULTIPLE times, it’s ridiculous that all dishes couldn’t be eaten. Extremely disappointed. I can no longer trust them with food. A shame since I also work in the area so myself and my colleagues will not be coming back.
