Worse then a dive bar. Stayed for 4 nights and staff never even put fresh towels in the room. Communal toilets and showers were never cleaned. Rooms don't even have a small fridge. Everything is in poor condition. Value for money extremely poor. Looks like a place you would get bed bugs in. Luckily we didn't.

What a disgusting, run down property this is. Air conditioning doesn't work. Door lock broken. Rooms are unclean and have dirty, stained, used bedding. Noisy rooms. Area is unsafe with unsavoury characters roaming around. Should've read the reviews before booking, as they are very consistent in their feedback, aside from the few fake 10 star reviews made by people who have been clearly paid or otherwise incentivised to lie and mislead unsuspecting future guests.

Went to see a friends band play. Great night out watching punk bands. Real rustic old pub feels.

Was up from Victoria staying at a friend's nearby to the Kerwick. Was around on a friday arvo having a few beers and was interested in the jelly wrestling due to the inviting promotion of the ladies on the street leading up to 4.30pm. Was curious enough to stop in for a pot as this type of afterwork entertainment drinks is completely unheard of in Victoria. I was absolutely disgusted at the degradation of the women by the clearly intoxicated MC during the wrestling. His comments fly in the face of contemporary values and it left me shocked that this goes on without intervention in 2018, it was highly inappropriate and offensive. As his voice was amplified by use of microphone and speaker and that the doors to the pub off the street remained opened, children and the general public could easily stop by and listen and see from outside. I am not against adult entertainment but the way this event is handled and presented was very very disappointing. I guarentee if I was to have recorded his commentating then the public and media would be out to hang this pub. After 5 minutes of it we had to leave...

This place is cool.. Is actually a really old school pub.. Not many beers on tap but the atmosphere is perfect if you are after that old aussie pub feel which is becoming really rare.. Don't change :)

The drinks were ice cold food was hot cooked well and served with a smile. It was no problem that one in our party had an allergy.

On arrival I got given a room where the past tenant had stolen the TV remote and controller for the fan and when I didn't use both days due to the disqusting heat and lack of service only received half the money back of a full day I didn't use. Do not book here

Ok so i wasn't staying in the hotel. I have a mate who lives there in a room. He does like it there and the staff seem to be really friendly and helpful. But I decided 2 sleep in my car in the carpark. Just ordered menulog and 85% finished eating then all these young ppl came running up behind my vehicle on both sides. The last person who i thought was with the group had a dog. That dog was leashed to a cop and the fricken dog bit me. That was weeks ago and ive still got a big hole in my calf muscle and every time i open or close my drivers side door with my right leg out i jolt because of the extreme violence that this whole experience has given. That was my 1st ever night homeless sleeping in my car. And let me tell you it was a night ill NEVER forget. A handful of the police said they would call me the next day to see how i was doing but not 1 did. The cop with the dog apologised a few times but that just isnt good enough. This shouldn't be allowed to happen

Most expensive drinks in the in the greater region especially for such an old run down place. I dont mind old run down pubs I love them to be honest but the price needs to be reflective of the venue and location. If it wasn't for the great bands and entertainment they put on I wouldn't go unless the prices were on par with others in the area.

Its an old style country feel pub. You can sit on the footpath outside and have a pint. Several fridays ago sitting there a steam train went by. You couldve been in the 1940's.....

I moved into the area mid 2019 and was pleased to see two pubs within 150m of where I live. Both have their virtues but I was continually drawn back to the Kerwick more than the other for a few reasons. The Kerwick is a bonafide real Queensland style-pub dripping with charm, heritage and has arguably the best ongoing showcase of local/upcoming bands on a Saturday night anywhere in Ipswich. It's cozy, but friendly and before too long you feel like you've known everyone there your whole life. The staff are amazing and bend over backwards to make sure everything is spot on. If you like live music, then make sure you check out their facebook page as to what is coming up as the genres of the bands are diverse and head on down. It's worth it.

I booked and paid for a room and said we would be there between 12 am and 1 am as we flew from Tasmania to old ,only to find that the person who was supposed to give us the keys weren't even there so we didn't get our room so $90 for nothing

Great customer service, cold beer, one of the few great time capsule pubs you'll see these days. Owner is a legend and very welcoming. Enjoyed my stay there 👍

Bit old and daggy. Could definitely do with a spruce up but the staff are great, the drinks are cold and it's across the road from a train station.

A very friendly hotel.Great service and ice cold beer. The Publican made me feel welcome. The locals here are also very friendly. Great atmosphere. Other pubs in the area have a clicky clientele.
