We spent 2 nights (Fri/Sat) at the hotel. The room was clean and relatively quiet, considering it is a pub. The bathroom looks like it has just been nicely renovated. We had commitments so unable to rate the food and beverage service. What meals I did notice, though, looked good. My observations Check-in is at the bar. You will need to be able to carry your bags upstairs if you stay here. The bed could use some more support in the middle however it was comfortable Parking is on the outside of the building, and we were able to park within the grounds both nights. Maybe some more room around the bathroom sink for toiletry bags would be a nice addition.

We had an earlier check-in what was great after a long flight. The location of the hotel is also great if you're visiting Sydney, just several stops from the airport or the city what is very convinient. Perfect price / quality ratio. You can enjoy the bar or have a lunch. Some oportunites for grocceries shopping nearby. Free parking onsite. You have everything what you need in the room such as teapot, an iron, refrigerator etc.||Disliked · You couldn't open the window, so the air was stagnant. The towel hanger in the shower was broken. The safe couldn't be locked.

We are regulars here at least once a week for the past 5 years. This was the first time that we were disappointed. I ordered the steak special with mash & veggies and pepper sauce. The mash had a very peculiar taste to it, the pepper sauce was not like other times. In stead of them using black pepper corns they used white pepper. The veggies had 1 medium sized broccoli, 1 very small piece of corn, and about 6 long sliced carrots. Unfortunately they have changed chefs and in my opinion have gone backwards. My apologies but we will not be returning again. We will find another pub to visit weekly.

This review is for Kingsgrove Hotel at 236 Kingsgrove Road. We stayed here four nights, and found the hotel to be clean, comfortable, and quiet. Layout is the bottom floor is a large spacious pub with restaurant, upper floor has 11 hotel rooms and some offices. Our room had a nice view of the street. There are separate entrances for the pub and for the hotel rooms. Check in is at the pub. The room was a bit small, furnished with a bed large enough for two people, end tables on each side of it, desk and chair suitable for computer work, preparing food, etc., a small refrigerator, a closet with clothes rack, iron and ironing board, and a television. The bed was a bit soft, but comfortable. Bathroom was clean and in good condition, plenty of hot water, big shower, exhaust fan. No smoking allowed, and the room didn't smell. The window is not built to open, and it got a bit stuffy sometimes. There was a ceiling fan. The AC worked well. Free parking was included, but the lot is not large, you might have to wait for someone to leave before you can park, especially during busy times. We had no problem parking in the early afternoon, about half the spots were available then, but they tended to fill up in the evening. The lot is closed when the pub is: 4AM to 10AM, but you can still exit if you need to. Location is excellent, the train station is about 100 meter walk, about half hour ride to CBD (Central Business District) where most touring attractions are, and the airport is about 20 minute ride, very convenient. There is a Woolworths grocery store a block away, a BWS Liquor store, and various other shops and restaurants in the area. The pub restaurant was a bit limited, most big meat and fries type things, not much in the way of salad or fruit.

This place isn’t worth going to as my friends and I came in for a few drinks and dinner it then lead to security having the wrong identification of my friend and then asked us to leave even though it was our first time going there I will not return to this hotel for anything ever again I was absolutely shocked. Rude and over priced to be completely honest and not worth the time to be treated like that

The location is good, close to the train station. I asked for tidying my room but they only tidied my bed but didn’t change towels. The room is dusty and small.

The decor is rather outdated, however it served the purpose. No table service, so you have to go to the counter to order and you are then given a buzzer. When it rings, you collect your plates and cutlery and bring it to the table yourself. I ordered the surf and turf and had a schooner of Bulmer's cider. Service staff were really friendly and responsive. Food was a tad on the pricier side considering the location, however they do have lunch and dinner specials which were more affordable. Food wise was really good. My steak was cooked perfectly and steak, prawns and sauce were well seasoned. Vegetables were also cooked nicely. My only complaint would be the mashed potatoes which was a bit gluggy and wasn't seasoned adequately. Portion sizes were good and overall a more than decent feed.

Still an amazing local pub to go get some drinks and play a casual game of pool. It’s about $7 for more normal beers. They have daily specials from Monday to Friday as well. $25 lamb ribs on thursdays for example.

Standard pub large areas staff are standard, not much to get excited about. Food was OK. Can't say it's bad can't say it's great, parking is available in its own carpark and outside near the train station. No agreesive characters around no bad vibes. Not much experience here to judge much. It seems like it's safe to go to for some drinks and a feed if your into it.

Staff is friendly and welcoming. Room was very clean and quiet considering the hotel is on a busy street. Convenient to travel to and from the airport as the location is a very short walk from the train station and bus. WiFi was great in the room. Area has many restaurants in a walkable distance.

Staff are excellent and the rooms and ensuite better than expected in a pub. The let down are lack of noise deadening between rooms as I could hear their TV etc all night plus the music coming up from the gaming room can be heard very late into the night. Great beers and a good feed.

Pleasantly surprised. The bed was comfortable and we could not hear any noise from the pub. Our room did not face the main road and I would definitely stay here again.

Over priced meals and accommodation. Furniture in the room was broken, lights not working either. Sounded like staff had a party in the middle of the night in the accommodation corridor. Staff seemed pleasant and attentive. Ordered salad with dinner, received veggies.

Nice south-west Sydney pub. Room was clean, comfortable, maybe a little tight, but had queen bed, ensuite, mini-fridge, flat screen tv, desk. Everything I needed. Pub downstairs also good, had Monday night special, $18 for schnitty n chips. Opposite station with direct train to airport, lots of cafe and restaurants nearby. Look forward to coming back.

Local pub for more than 20 years. Staff are always friendly and overall is a good pub, not upmarket but no rough crowd either. My only issue is the decline of the bistro, the quality of the specials have really gone downhill despite the expected price increases. 12 months difference between photos really tells a tale

I spent four nights here and I enjoyed it very well. Staff are very friendly, they offered free coffee while waiting for the check in time, also they arranged me an early check in too. Room cleanliness is well maintained, changed new towels and cups everyday. Easy access to public transport. Food tasted really good and they have lunch specials for affordable price. Great value for the money.

Have loved staying at the hotel very clean, lovely bed and very easy to catch a train (about a 3 min walk). Food was also nice and well priced, there are also other places near if you want to try something else. Would book and stay again.

Came here tonight for a feed after looking at some properties in the area. Ordered the curry which was on special and a balter xpa. Curry was sensational. Beer was not cheap though.

Avoid inless you like being told to "get out now" ten minutes after checkout time. He carpark opens at checkout time. Sending the maid to tell me, rather than the manager... shows how staff are treated. They can charge me for my extra 20 minutes with a smile and a screw you

Average food but horrible service. We'd ordered a meal and when the wrong order was was prepared we kindly told the chef we'd ordered something else (We ordered salmon and got barramundi instead). He was so rude to me and my mate from the get-go saying that he'd have to throw away the food and that his money was going down the drain (so unprofessional in my opinion). We then asked if it would be possible for him to prepare the salmon to add to the plate and we'll pay the difference to which he got even angrier and refused. We didn't want to waste our energy arguing more so we ended up eating the barra so we wouldn't waste food but we won't be coming back nor would we recommend it to anyone else. I hope the chef learns some professionalism and kindness or changes his tone with customers at the very least.

A basic hotel. Nice and clean rooms. Perfect for just spending the night. The Bistro is also good, but not fancy. No extra beds or bunk so all rooms just fit 2 People. Travelers with kids will need extra rooms.
