When ordering, I specifically asked for fully cooked vegetables, but I was given uncooked green beans. This caused my wife and I to vomit and have a fever until midnight. We called and refused to acknowledge their problem. The least recommended restaurant in Canberra.

What a fantastic pub/restaurant. Staff couldn't have been friendlier. We were a large group with no booking so after waiting 30 mins at the bar, they seated us at 2 lovely tables beside each other (we split adults and kids). Service is efficient and the staff really lovely. Menu has something for everyone and caters for dietary requirements. Toilets were clean and the room really comfortable (it was freezing outside). Only downside was the parking, had to be patient and wait for someone to leave. Surrounding streets were all full. Loads of beers on tap, great wine menu and cocktails. Great for a satisfying night out.

Went there yesterday, 3rd of June 2024. Paid $25 for two drinks. No head on the beer and the ginger beer was completely flat and tasted like dirty water. $12 for a tiny bowl of chips with disgusting lumpy gravy. Pool tables are trashed. The place stank and was so dark and dirty that we felt sick by the time we left. $50 for a drink and a game in a total dive. Won’t be back!

Warm welcome on arrival
They moved us to a nice table away from
Some larger tables and a screaming child.
Dinner was good
Shnitzel is massive
Mash or chips are great
My diet needs met re NO garlic no onions. But sadly salad was full of onions.
Wife’s gnocchi was good.

This is a great pub to eat at. Great tasting meals, great fireplace in winter.

The Rib Eye was the best steak I've paid for in years! The price was considerably better then most other venues and the portion size was impressive.
I was looking for the best steak in Canberra, and I found it.

The Restaurant and Bar service is a breath of fresh air. People coming to the Capital need to know that this is the spot.
As visitors from another state we throughly enjoyed our time here.

The outdoor seating was so beautiful and relaxing, and everything inside looked very clean.
Food was generous, reasonable pricing and absolutely delicious and fresh. Will come back here whenever I'm in town. Great customer service and service with a smile, loved it!

Parking can be a pain. The meals in the restaurant were really good, the only downside was that as a group we had to order from the counter, table service would make it better.

Our favourite place to go for ribs and atmosphere. Parking was a bit of an issue this time at peak lunch hour but luckily found a spot 2 streets away. The meal made up for it.

It used to be one of my favourite places to eat in Canberra. Unfortunately, what seems to be the trend atm is the lack of quality workers (ever since covid). I have had 2 bad experiences in a row, back to back. Won't be coming back, sadly.

I ont know about accommodation but the beer garden (non-smoking side) is gorgeous, covered in greenery with brand new bar outside. Shady, coolin summer. Great atmosphere

I hope you review your carpark because we always find it difficult to get one! The atmosphere is nice for drinks. There's also pool tables. I kinda miss the hot grill when you do it yourself, but the new menu is also awesome. Steak, roast potatoes, and green beans are my go to.

I booked Maddie's online for the wrong day, but the staff there were very accommodating (once I finally found it through the maze of doors)! Nice atmosphere good service (although not table service) I always add extra sauces etc and they were willing to modify my order. Everything came out hot and fresh. The Full Rack of BBQ Pork Ribs were tender (not quite fall of the bone), the mild flavour was quite nice. All in all a great experience.

Have not been to "The Kingo" for a long time but the renovations and new vibe make it a lovely place for a get together. We had a friend's celebration there and the staff were great, food and atmosphere were spot on. The outdoor area will be awesome for a summer afternoon session.

Have been here many times in the past. Went there for the takeaway menu that we’ve always loved and the quality has drastically decreased. The burgers were dry and the onion rings made me sad thinking of how good they used to be. I used to recommend to everyone and now I will tell to avoid.

Had dinner in the grill. Steaks were pretty good. Can be busy on steak orders, so order a garlic bread. Good range of beers etc in the main bar, and less in the 2 dining areas

Great lovely atmosphere, packed on a Saturday need to book a table if U plan on eating there. Nice spot by the fireplace, great to warm up on a cold night food was good pub food .

First visit to the Kingston Hotel did not dissapoint. Absolutely amazing food. This is not your average take on pub food, this is a much higher standard. Our meals were massive and cooked perfectly. All of our group were seriously impressed. Service was great and very friendly. Atmosphere was lively with many people there. My tip is the Ribs 👍😋 we will back.

Dinner at Maddie's Kingston Hotel on 25 September 2023. Had the 350g Angus and I must say. Absolutely cooked to perfection. Usually I order a pub steak and it's overdone. Great work. Staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. Keep up the great level of service and thanks for a great meal.

Didn't stay, went only for drinks.
Gardens are marvelous, beautifulby day or night, however food a bit pricey but it can be normal for Canberra.

Best pub in town. So many food choices and two great bars. Family friendly or a night out with friends. Previous 5 star review until...
Drive-thru takeout has recently halved portion sizes, hiked prices around 70% and don't even give you parmesan for your pasta anymore. Leaves a sour taste after decades of great service.

Asked for my food to be Gluten free (as was advertised as an option on the menu) and double checked when it was brought out. The waitress came back and advised it ‘only had traces of gluten’
I was pretty shocked and said that this possibility had not been mentioned on the menu or when I ordered.
The young waitress then asked if I had asked for my food to be gluten free when I ordered, which I had. She then proceeded to tell me that it was the best they could do and asked what I wanted her to do about it.
She offered a refund, which I accepted but then said she would have to take the food away.
I ate a little of my $30 meal but left the majority out of anxiety. Everyone I was with was pretty horrified at how I’d been treated.
I will not be returning in a hurry.
