Would recommend avoiding at all cost, security staff (Omar) abused my group with antisemitic comments upon entry and (a very quick) exist from venue. Bar staff were slow and not interested to help either

We went for a DJ Event, held in the upstairs area. Had a few drinks first in the middle bar. Staff were friendly and approachable ( especially the staff who sourced the pink gin 😉) but obviously inexperienced. Great vibe, with balcony area and great air con. Upstairs is a great space to dance but so horrendously hot it was unbearable and the difference in air temp between the 2 levels was incredible. If it's to make people drink more, it doesn't work... So many people left or went downstairs. Would I come to another event upstairs? Probably not 😕

Went there for a dance party and the air con wasn't working. Had to leave early as I was dying with the heat. Great bar service and friendly staff though. Great clean toilets too. W p Ulf of spent much more if the places air con was on

We love the atmosphere and the comedians did a fantastic job. Highly recommended it.

This pub is a landmark in Taylor Square. A good meeting place conveniently located. Offers a variety of beers, wine & food .

This place has great food, has a high turnover over of staff that don’t seem to know what they are doing specifically when it comes to make cocktails. Beers are constantly out of stock, otherwise good verity. Tables are left with dirty dishes for hours. Management might need some new KPI’s. Great events consistently on. Just a bit more love is needed to service

The barman whom served us had a lot of personality and was a definite stand out in regards to our experience, he gets 4-5 stars. The Asian lady in the pokie Room however killed the experience for me, I felt like I had the girl from movie "The Ring" watching every dollar I put in the machines to justify the free lemonade request I made.... On another token unluckiest pokie Room on my book, have never got a decent feature in the five times I have played there..

Really love the bar and great bar staff but the older security guard (SG) acts like he owns the place with unreasonable excuses of not letting non intoxicated people in ... we sat outside on a Friday a few weeks ago, the SG must've turned away close to 60 people in the time we were there with a rather empty downstairs bar. My friends and I were in disbelief. A group of people from the Uk visiting wanted to come in and meet their friends but were turned away at the door for no reason at all which the groupd questioned the guard who replied because I dont like you... so the friends inside left with there mates and told the SG they would never visit the bar again ..the SG said he would not like them to try and come back anyways...I would love for the venue owners to do a look into how much business they have lost due to a few SG's and see what comes out of that. In a time where Sydney is trying to get Night Life up and running and turning Sydney back to a international city I think there needs to be a change in the style of SG companies/SG staff to ensure Hospitality will hopefully once again thrive.

Love the renovations, super friendly and great bar staff! No attitude which is rare in Sydney. Keep it friendly and relaxed.

Lovely spot for a drink and a meal with friends. The Sunday roast for $30 was better than expected, so was the fried calamari $18 which was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside.

Large pub with lots of spaces. Downstairs pub like area. Upstairs nightclub.
Basement has toilets. Very average.
There is a pool table. I have been when they have a DJ.
Cocktails are not good. I would suggest you order something else.

it has been a while since the last time ive been here...still love the space!!!was there for the anaconda show and it was great fun!!!so glad i went out that nite!!
staff and the drinks were still good...will try some more of the food next time....

I originally walked into Kinselas for a quick drink. However, the staff were great, the music was great, and the drinks were reasonably priced, which enticed me to stay for a lot longer than originally planned. One bartender in particular really stood out. Their name was Nicki. They always served with a big, friendly smile, and they had a very bubbly personality. The best part was that they would dance behind the bar, on the dance floor, or whilst picking up the empty glasses... any chance they could when they weren't serving drinks. This encouraged others to join in. It really made the night very enjoyable. Will definitely be going back.

In Australia, hotel means bar. So this is where you go for a beer or a drink. Normal pub feeling, nothing fancy. A couple of pool tables and a tiny tiny arcade section.

Great venue for lunch and a drink. Good menu selection and food is always great quality. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Great place with kind staff, decent drinks at decent prices & lovely outdoor area. Only reason I give 4 stars out of 5 is that there’s nowhere you’re allowed to smoke nor vape except in the gambling zone.

Goodlooking bar in a very nice neighbourhood. Unfortunately, the cocktail was very disappointing. I ordered a Whisky Sour, but what I got had nothing to do with a whisky sour. No eggwhite on it, way to much whisky in comparison and it was served with ice in it + in the wrong glass. I didn‘t try any complex cocktail, just a classic one and it still wasn‘t what it‘s supposed to be.
The atmosphere is very nice, the staff is very friendly, but unfortunately quality of drinks is more important in a bar.

Good location and nice place to have some fun.
If you are around CBD or want to get to know more about Surry Hills, this is the place.

Good local pub with a nice area in front so you can watch the world go by. Pool tables if you are into that . Haven't eaten there. A reasonable selection of beers on tap.

Excuse me bartender... Can I have a gluten free beer? No gluten free beer? Ok, I will have a glass of red wine and a pint of XPA, please. Ok, I'll pay the full price (13$) for the wine even if it's happy hour when the wine is 50% off or the house beers, as advertised (between 7pm and 9pm, it was 8pm). Remember me? Yeah, the "nice" bartender in pink shirt. I didn't felted welcome at all, not just for a minute (not seconds). First and the last time here. Luckily found another pub to wash away the good name of Sydney.
Just to be clear, this is my first Google review and hope to be the last. I had the chance to leave reviews before, bad or good, but I didn't want to waste my time, but here we are...

Came to kinselas last night after Mardi Gras and although at first I was a bit annoyed that they made us line up and wait outside for so long when the bottom bar was virtually empty, once we got inside it was heaps of fun. Wanted to shout out one particular security guard who jumped into action as soon as I informed him that two straight men were being creepy to girls and filming them. He acted right away and kicked the guys out. There was a safe and fun inclusive vibe after that. The bathrooms are super gross though. Definitely need to do something that but overall a fun night. Thanks guys!

Apart from needing fans as it was very Hot Kinselas hosted a great venue for our 78ers Xmas gathering. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming.

Always lowest reviews can thank security staff the one this morning no exception where on earth would you find a pretentious imbecile without trying that’s right Kinselas what a Grub and I’m expecting management to not even bring to this megalomaniac’s attention
And doubt it make difference if they did what an absolute joke you can rest assured im never ever going back

Always come here for the queer latin party, ¡Escandalo!, and I have never had any complaints, it’s always the best time and I am always shown great service from both the bar and the people at the front checking tickets. Would love for more latin nights as well!
