Wow!! First time to dine at Lake Cathie Tavern today. My partner and I were greeted with friendly staff. The prices were reasonable and the food was amazing. Highly recommend dining here. I’m looking forward to going back.

What a delightful place to catch up with friends and eat the most delicious food. Yhe barramundi was perfect and so reasonably priced. Enjoyed my visit so much.

We had a lovely evening here. Ordered meals, however my meal was not what I expected. I spoke to Imogen and within minutes I received a different meal at no extra charge. Can't fault the service.
Imogen turned out evening from possibly disappointing to very enjoyable.
A great team, thank you Imogen, Andrew and all the friendly staff.

We enjoyed our first visit. It was lunchtime, food was excellent, and plentiful The staff were friendly and the tavern is very clean it well lit and looks out on a outside area We most certainly will return.

This place is looking so much better now, outside dining is probably one of the better ones around with nice shed areas.
Food hopefully is still on the way up, we had a Cesar salad however I think it was a generals salad not quite Cesar worthy - lots a green and not much else. Kids had min steak and the nuggets and both plates were empty so that’s good.
Pubs normally aren’t known for a good salad so next time hopefully will try a steak or parmie.
All in all live music on a Sunday arvo was worth the visit and will visit again and try the menu a bit more.

The two snitzel orders were over cooked to deep deep brown... fries also...burger bun was black not dark brown but black and meat dry. 5 people ..4 had below par meals..mine was good Chile prawn pasta..nice spice..soggy garlic bread though...nice atmosphere but below par food

The recent renovations make for a clean, modern pub with good atmosphere. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Lunch specials are reasonably priced and very tasty. Staff also friendly and efficient.

Tavern has been renovated beautifully. Plenty of dining tables. We went for lunch.
A good variety of dishes on menu. Food was good.
Pizzas available.
Waitresses very helpful and friendly.
Manager of the day came to have a chat, and to see that we had been well looked after.
Kids playground attached to outside dining area.

Only been once to this venue, so this is a first impression review. Apparently it’s had a makeover recently, so everything looks pretty new and fancy. The meals were incredible. Huge and great value. The bar is a little clunky so when a crowd builds it can be slow to get served. A great outside area for kids to climb and family friendly. Overall, I thought it was pretty good.

Lunch today was lovely and the atmosphere is great. Would go back.
Only thing I would comment on is the online booking. Tried to book for 12.30 for 12 people but told only 1pm was available and outside. We decided to take this booking even though we would have rather sit inside. When we arrived a bit early at 12.40 the dining room was three thirds empty and shown to an inside table which suited us.
I am not sure if there is a problem with your booking online system.
You may miss bookings if there is.

Lovely atmosphere, kids meals are sized well.
Staff were neutral, neither grumpy nor having a great time. Caesar salad at $19 could have been bigger and charging an extra $6 for what was less than 100g of chicken (see photo ) left me feeling a bit ripped off. Especially after asking the Chef if that was really all the chicken there was.
Hope you can increase portion sizes on salad and upsell items please.

It's a great place to have dinner the food was great, the staff behind the bar were very nice and the staff in the kitchen were great as well. I would recommend the chicken wings and the schnitzel very nice not dry at all.

I had a Butchers Shop
pizza. Base was great, topping very scarce. Certainly not like any butcher shop I’ve visited. I thought it would be might meaty, but the topping was scant, dominated by cheese and tomato. Teeny bits of bacon sprinkled on.
Bar staff exceptionally friendly under pressure.

I absolutely love this pub! It is so good, the staff are always super friendly and nice, always up for a chat and making me feel welcomed.
However there is one manager Andrew was his name was really quite rude. When asked what time they close he couldn’t give us an answer. We were playing the pokies and he just kept walking past saying okay guys take it out soon each time he walked past. We weren’t intoxicated or causing any problems. When we asked what time they closed he was so rude and said whenever you get off the machine, stating that all the staff were waiting for us however when speaking with the staff they had no problems with us being there.
Again he walked past we asked when are you closing so we know and he wouldn’t give us an answer was just straight up rude. We never have any problems with Cathie pub, it’s our local and I love it and all the staff and great food but unfortunately this individual has really ruined it for us. I must say every time I’ve been there and this Andrew manager guy is on, he never looks happy and is always so rude customers. Lucky the other staff make up for his rudeness but my gosh he needs to pick up his customer service or get a different profession

Heart health nsw Inc Christmas party. Staff bent over backwards to make it go without a hitch. Meal quite good. Staff excellent.

Had the Caesar salad, it had most of the ingredients but it wasn’t made up,The egg is meant to be hard not soft. I had to cut the bacon and chicken up, also it said “croutons” wasn’t croutons, just 3 slices of brown toast. Not impressed, had to waste 5-10 to recook egg and there wasn’t enough Parmesan.
Caesar salad is not that hard to make, even a tiny bit of effort goes a long way when someone’s already paying $25 for a simple salad

Good selection of food. You can get lunch specials which are the usual meals, or you can get something really nice with one or 2 healthy options.

Food was disappointing i had a cheeseburger that was so soggy that it fell apart, unripe Tomato and over cooked chips. For $22 I expected better. The place has a good atmosphere but is very loud inside the eating area when it’s full. Try hard to have a conversation across your table.

Disappointed, arrived at 7:30 the night before and was told about a 1 hour wait which was fine the place was busy, tonight I’m left sitting waiting for 1 pizza for over 1.5 hours while I watch takeaway orders left sitting and no other people waiting for food. It would have been nice to know I wouldn’t get my 1 pizza until after 9pm I would have gone to Woolies instead and got a frozen one as it would have also tasted better. I had just started to come here more often as I was impressed with the renovations but not sure if I’ll return in a hurry.

Congratulations on the Reno's to the L.C. Tavern. Very friendly and helpful staff. Bistro meals were fantastic. Can highly recommend 👍

Came here with the fam on holidays. I ordered the Beach Boy pizza which was fantastic! The reno’s are also coming along nicely, should be great once complete.

Awesome meals on multiple occasions. The bar staff go out of their way to make u feel welcome. The kitchen staff make some amazing meals. Managers are friendly and happy to chat # Andrew, Kyle, Sav, Bec and Nathan. Sorry if I've forgotten anyone

A serious 'stuff your face' snitty! An awesome atmosphere and has outdoor heaters for the cooler evenings. Worth a visit!
