Went for a late lunch. Food was cold and steak over cooked. Our meals sat on the kitchen bench and the cook rang the bell 3 times to get it served to us. The bar staff member continued to serve people coming in for refills and chatted to people sitting at the bar. Waste of $70 won't be eating here again

We brought the fam in for dinner and we are really impressed with the service, our meals were great - special shout out to Brie and Troy for their beautiful, happy to help service. We will definitely be back. 🤩

*Second visit update* 22/08/2022
Went for lunch yesterday and the steak was over grilled, it has terrible bitter taste. The meat inside was perfectly cooked but outside its burned. It looks totally fine when served (last pic) but when we flipped over the steak, it was dark on the other side(second & third pic). Very disappointed. Even though we still finished the whole meal but probably wont go back again. C
Better than what I expected! The steak was tender and juicy. Well done 👍 Will definitely visit again 🙂

Ribs, chips and salad are fantastic. My mate and I go every 2 weeks on a Wednesday night and get them for $20. Cooked perfectly and taste awesome.

Our food was amazing, awesome atmosphere, family friendly upbeat energetic vibes. The manager Brie was super friendly very helpful and made our family catch up an awesome night. Definitely recommend Lakers Tavern Thornlie, they make for a wonderful night out.

Lakers is back!
The service, especially from Brie and Morgan behind the bar, is always met with a smile and efficiency.
The food (new chef) is fantastic and I can recommend you to a nice dinner and a great experience.

I've been here a couple times in the last few years for drinks but I had never eaten a meal here before, my bestie suggested it for a dinner catch up couple weeks ago. The Pork belly bites are delicious, I wanted more 😜 I was a little disappointed with my Malaysian Curry Lamb Shank with mash because it looked and smelt amazing but was lacking in flavour. The meat was nice and tender and not dry, it just didn't have much flavour. The curry sauce was nice but very mild flavouring and I also felt the mash was a bit too soft. But all in all it wasn't a bad meal. The cocktails were very nice, I had the fruit tingle but I can't remember what my friend ordered 😅

I understand seniors meals are smaller and simpler, I was outraged on my old man's behalf.
One anemic half cooked snag on half a mashed spud and half a boiled carrot, no gravy no salad, nothing.
My parmi was good.

I love Lakers Tavern and all of their staff. But the manager, Brie, has a special place in my heart ever since she started spending her precious break time tutoring my 9 year old son in Italian, free of charge. Plus the snapper tacos slap.

I had a lovely time with my auntie there last night we had onion bhaji and grilled fish and chips because the barramundi had just ran out! I’m looking forward to tasting the barramundi another time, it’s obviously very popular.
The servings were very generous, and I’ll definitely be back.

I gave it 4 stars because of the staff was wonderful. The food look nice. But the steak was burnt, the chips was nice and crunchy and the salad was nice on top but taste oily down the bottom. But lovely atmosphere. And just one more thing. a person like me with back and hip problems and pain. If there could be different chairs with straight back not arch back. But I will go back.

Having had the pleasure of performing with my band, Get Back, on Saturday night, I would like to commend the team and staff at the Lakers. It was an unexpectedly big crowd and great to see some live music back on a Saturday night.
A massive shout out to Manny for getting this initiative off the ground and the level of support he gave the band. He lead from the front and had his team well prepared for the night. Thank you Manny and thank you Lakers.

Had the share plate of lemon pepper squid, good idea not to share if you are hungry. Also had pepper sauce and chips. Better serving size than the squid. So wont order the squid again....

Had an amazing meal last night when I ordered the Beef and Guinness pie with bubble and squeak. The meat was so tender, the crust perfectly cooked and the bubble and squeak was creamy and divine! The service was eexceptional and we were made to feel like their only diners, even though it was a rather busy night. The fire made the experience just lovely as it was a cold and wet Thursday night. Well done Lakers team.

First time visiting this pub. Relaxed atmosphere, tasty food, and reasonable prices. Staff were friendly, and food was served quickly. Wouldn't hesitate to go back next time I'm in the area.

Dinner for 4 on a Sunday night. Was fairly quiet, plenty of room. We just had steak sandwiches and buttermilk chicken burgers. Steak was tender, sandwich was not overdone with too many ingredients so was really nice. Chicken burgers were yummy, nice crispy buttermilk chicken was really tasty. Quick and friendly service in the night.

Also visited Tuesday 25/5/21 for lunch. Food was tasty and came out quickly. Cook on the steak was good - charred on the outside medium as requested on the inside and well rested. Standard pub style salad was fresh (served in separate bowl 👍🏻). Chips were hot.
Nasi goreng was really tasty. All elements on the plate cooked well and food came out hot. Rice was delicious. The sticky, sweet sauce in the dish also went beautifully with the egg (sliced omelette, not a fried egg) and sliced crumbed chicken was nice to have on the plate as well.
Service friendly and efficient. Cold day but was nice and warm inside.

Cosy place to meet with friends and family. Both my friend and I ordered barramundi. It was delicious.
Service with a smile from Brie and the guy at the counter.
Will be added to my favourite place.

Cannot fault this establishment for "country sized" servings in a suburban hotel.
Genourous (as claimed by Craig) doesn't cover it.
Chicken Parmigiana - literally half a boned chook, butterflied and turned into a meal built for 3!
Jack Daniels pork ribs - a FULL RACK (16 ribs) per serve... You'd need to fast for 2 days to get through them all!
Both served with chips and house gourmet salad..
Service?
Cannot fault the cheerful, nothing-is-too-much-trouble, attitude from Morgan and the team.
My only gripe is that they don't have "Basil's Brew" on tap... (But then again - I've only ever found that particular delicious drop at the Castle Hotel in York..🤔 (you'd have to read my other posts for that excellent location 😉)
Great food, great prices,great service, Lakers would have to be my favourite "local".

Came to watch the state of origin. Ordered the lamb shank and the chicken sandwich. Both were very nice. Our server Craig was very knowledgeable on the wine list.

Came for a Friday arvo beer. Staff were walking around offering Free Chicken Wings and Arancini Balls. Both tasted great. Staff were also clearing tables quickly. No complaints here

Brieana, a manager of this fine establishment, has been an absolute superstar! When I ordered at the bar she gave me my drinks very fast and with a big smile and asked me about my day! She is the best worker ever and is the reason that I come so often to eat at Lakers with my twin daughters Taylor and Gracie.

Ambience was great, staff were fabulous. Nachos left a bit to be desired. The pulled pork was basically cold and the cheese looked congealed. It looked like it had been pre-made and sat under a warmer for too long. The nacho chips were fabulous however as was the guacamole. Other times I've eaten here food has been great so I will still be back :)
