Unpretentious property offering a bar/restaurant & a terrace, plus pool tables & event space. Set 2 km from Oak Flats train station, this laid-back motel on a residential street is 5 km from the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society, and 7 km from boating and fishing on Lake Illawarra. Streamlined rooms offer sitting areas, flat-screens and minifridges, plus tea and coffeemaking facilities. Some feature exposed-brick walls. There's a casual bar/restaurant with a terrace. Other amenities include pool tables, a gaming room and a liquor store, as well as meeting and event space. Parking is available.

While I have not stayed in rooms, my family dine here often. Modern decor, the most welcoming and attentive staff that I have experienced in a hotel. While the menu they have is not extensive... it is delicious 😋 My personal favourite is the Beef Ragu. They have a specials board which offers tasty options. There is a great secure outdoor play area for the kids.

We went for dinner tonight. The service was great..the girl behind the bar taking food was awsome..food and price was very average..
Don't bother going for the meat raffle they only
offer 3 trays lol
Most likely we won't go again.

Very pleasantly surprised. Room was comfy, super clean and had everything we could have wanted. Hotel & Bistro was inviting, had a great ambiance and the food was reasonably priced and delicious. We will definitely be back! Thank you ⭐️

Very friendly staff and customer service. We went for dinner at the bistro cause we loved it last time and loved our meals again. We had butter chicken and beef cheek pie absolutely beautiful. It's our new local favourite

Value for money in a nice location. Pub food just ok but atmosphere was great. When we stayed the pub had a quiz night which was great fun!

Totally disappointed in this place. Booked a couple of weeks prior as we were visiting friends and thought rather than travelling back to Wollongong we would spend the night somewhere close to them. We also booked for dinner. No issue with booking. We arrived to check in and was then advised we could not stay - the reason - we were classed as locals. Totally shocked, just couldn’t believe it. Here we are a couple over 60 years of age being rejected after booking two weeks ago. I do not understand the discrimination that we were refused because we were considered “local”. Also why did we have to travel to the establishment to be told this. Couldn’t they have contacted us prior to advise us of their new ridiculous policy. When I asked this question I was advised - I’m the bar manager you need to speak to the accommodation manager - ok - oh it’s her day off. No one available to deal with our issue except the bar manager. Absolutely disgraceful service. Rejected because your considered a local. Total discrimination of where you live. Unbelievable!! The sad thing about it is there is a school reunion coming up in January and 3 couples have also booked rooms. Now we have to go through the process of booking.com to get our refund. As we also were not advised of this ridiculous new policy at the time of booking.

This motel was quite a pleasant surprise! It has a nice location, very quiet, and an adjoining dining area which was very convenient. The bartender, Tia, was adorable, and very helpful. We would definitely stay again

Surpassed expectations! Stayed overnight with our two adult children and 86yr old mum. Were delighted by the comfortable beds, neat and clean rooms, quiet accommodation and friendly staff. The bistro was welcoming, whether we were playing cards and chatting or eating and drinking. Enjoyed a game of pool too. Will definitely stay again when we need a stopover.

Stayed 1 night whilst visiting friends from Sydney. Was easy to book, good price and they responded quickly when I emailed them to request feather free bedding. Checked in easily and 30 mins early which was appreciated. Was allocated room 10 which looked and smelt like it had recently been renovated. Nice soft carpet and furnishings. Comfortable beds and a great night sleep. Great shower with perfect pressure. Couldn’t get the Smeg coffee machine to work but no bother as instant coffee also supplied. Key left in room for checkout ease. Would definitely stay again!

Spent 1 night here with hubby and my 2 year old son! Room was clean and looks like it had just been renovated which was nice. Had to check in at the adjoining pub bar and the staff there were lovely. It's close to shops and takeaway, lots of user eats options. Great little place to go!

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Coffee machine is a nice touch. Food at the bistro is excellent. Recommended

Really lovely welcome and easy check in, venue voucher on arrival. Room was lovely, clean and new with excellent facilities. Great Bistro and arrived in time for happy hour!

Lunch to check out new Reno and what was available |So fresh update of local very clean and friendly staff|Food was fresh tasty Garlic bread not a winner Fish and chips were fresh cooked but unsure of salt or coating on them. Only a small menu to chose from but all cooked fresh. A good crowd there. Outside area and play area for kids

Large, clean, modern room, with excellent coffee pod machine. OK meals, friendly staff. Lots of parking. Close to large shopping area.

It was a lovely surprise walking in the door of the hotel. It’s well renovated with a a really nice vibe. Lots of afternoon sunshine, with a great outlook if you have kids playing in the playground. The staff were really friendly, and the food, although a limited menu was some of the best Pub Grub I’ve had in awhile. Will definitely be coming back.

I have had a fantastic time here. The cleaning crew went over and beyond. I stayed here for over a week, had several meals, perfect and delicious 😘 I decided to leave one day earlier, due to commitments and they even refunded me, which I wasn't expecting, the manager was very helpful and obliging. The bar staff were so happy and helpful, especially Kaysha and Mitch, so bubbly, their customer service was, 100 %, the best, nothing was too hard for them, they really made me feel so welcome. Good place to stay and eat. My only gripe is that the restricted areas are not clearly marked within the revenue.

Good location, not far from Lake Illawarra and Shellharbour Square, plenty of transport available lots of parking. Good pub food and beer. Great atmosphere for families with beer garden and facilities for children. All in one level, easy enough for the elderly or those with walking aids and wheelchairs to get around.

Food was average, prices were high and staff unfriendly.
Weekends are so loud and busy, you can be waiting in line for drinks or to order food for 10-15mins.

Don’t know what happened to the view of the lake. View from our window was of a back fence. But the room was comfortable well equipped including functional bathroom. Kitchen items well provided although no sink. Diner in adjacent building was nice, good ambiance, food, view (but no sign of lake which is nearby). Friendly welcoming staff

Definitely a surprise, the outside of the rooms looked older, but the inside are freshly renovated and our room was absolutely perfect. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels and so so clean. Check in was easy and they were lovely. Food was fresh and great prices.

Booked one night for $150 Kings room |Next night booked again and couldn’t get kings room so got queens bed for $160|Went to bar asked for a stout no stout but the 10 feet corridor to the bottle shop sold lots of different stouts ordered a double rum can’t serve double rums I’m 67 some kid can tell me what I can and can’t drink 😎|Then we odered dinner drank two drinks and finally asked how is our meal going and told seven orders in front of us so we bailed|The kids play area is popular if that’s your scene then this is the pub for you

Big and warm rooms to stay in. Bed was super comfortable. Great having the bistro in the same address so we can get a great feed and a drink then wander back to our room. Good choice to stay over at this place.

A great spot for a nights stay when your passing through.
Easy access to both the Motel/Hotel and Freeway.
Rooms are tidy and clean 👌.
Easy parking right outside your room.
The hotel is handy if you're looking for a meal or a social drink.
I would definitely stay here again 👍

Absolutely fabulous accommodation for a family of 5.
Affordable, very clean, great customer service. Complimentary voucher for drink with dinner was very nice. Had a meal also and it was beautiful. Fabulous stop when travelling through. 👏👏

About 20-30 of us came here for lunch and a few drinks after a mates funeral, many elderly family members. We were told by the (assumed) manager Mitch, that we would need to leave when the ‘influx of regular local’s arrived’, we are majority locals, at the time there were about 4 people here other than us… no bar lines or waits.
We were told by Mitch that if we didn’t leave the Police would be called. None of us were intoxicated or misbehaving, we simply had to leave because their locals were ‘arriving soon’. We came for lunch and drinks to celebrate at a place we shared many good times with our late friend. How ridiculous and disrespectful and disappointing. Seriously never ever heard anything like it!
