What an awesome pub. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and cheap drinks too. Is right on the main street in the centre of Airlie Beach and just across the road from the lagoon swimming area. Pints of Mercury Draught cider for $5 and jugs of superdry beer for $10. How good is that. Beautiful beer garden to sit in and watch ALL the life and bikini clad girls go past. Love this pub. A must visit.

We had an excellent time there. The staff is very friendly and the location is central in the main street of Airlie beach. The rooms are in nice cottages which are build in a rain forest like environment - awesome.

The security is beyond agressive and rude, we are staying here and went for a walk about town, (couple in our thirties), on our way back to get showered and go out for dinner/drinks we noticed 2 pool tables- there was a barrier from the boardwalk to where they are- my husband slide it accross to go check what sort of coin was required to use the pool table. Immediately the security man comes over shouting with a nasty attitude, really over the top and uncalled for, its only 6.30 in the evening, calm down!! Shame as we would have been back in 20 minutes after our shower and spend a good amount of money on dinner and drinks here!

Rowdy backpacker hangout with awesome vibes. Great live music, footy on the big screen and reasonable priced drinks. They could do with more bar staff to avoid long waits at the bar.

Perfect place for a beer after work!! It is so affordable and the atmosphere is nice at all times.
The band is amazing all the time and my favorite beer spot at Arlie beach

One of the best hostels I've stayed in.
Basic but adequate and clean rooms. The shared bathroom was regularly cleaned and in good nick. The shower was surprisingly good.
The atmosphere is very chilled and relaxing in the beautiful jungle/forest surroundings. Lots of places to sit in the shade.
The kitchen was very good, clean and with lots of room for people to cook.
Woolworths is right next door which is very handy for buying dinner and snacks.
The only negative was that the washing machine left some stains on our clothes and the dryer was way too hot and could very easily shrink your clothes.

One of my favourite Hostels, seems more like an Resort! Cheap prices for nice and tidy rooms. Big area with many rooms, 2 kitchen, one laundry and one luggage storage. Good to stay if you travel with another person or in a group. Even camping places with hot showers available WiFi is maybe not the best, but that is my only bad point about this accomodation.

Ok, so I love this pub, it's centrally located, friendly bar staff, great beer and atmosphere. But the blonde female security guard really needs to learn people skills. She would have to be the rudest person I've ever had the misfortune of crossing paths and is single handedly putting people off going there.

My friend and I were enjoying a drink in the outdoor seating area. Unaware it was a no-smoking area my friend took a puff of her vape. The security guard scolded her rudely, saying she needed to go to the smoking area. He then said he told her this last night. We were confused because we had only arrived in Airlie that day. After telling him this, he continued to gaslight us about being at Magnums last night, and said she “looked familiar”. We felt extremely uncomfortable by this interaction and left immediately without finishing our drinks. He could have politely explained it was a no smoking area instead of aggressively speaking to her like this and arguing with us.

My friend and I had just arrived that day to the hostel and were looking to check out the bar scene. We were seated in the back outdoor area near where other people were smoking so I took ONE puff off my vape and some hyper masc self important security guard talked down VERY badly to me where he could have simply asked me nicely to move to the actual designated smoking area from the unmarked non smoking outdoor table we were seated at.
He came over and instead of asking us to move a few tables down insisted quite rudely that he had given me a warning the night before and when I told him I had just arrived THAT DAY he continued to bully me insinuating that I was LYING about it. (????????) We left our (full) drinks and walked out immediately.
Completely unnecessary behavior, absolutely not a way to speak to a person off the cuff. Very bad energy to this spot. According to MANY other reviews, the issue with the security guards here persists.
There are much better bars down the street with much nicer staff. Do better.

Magnums is a great place to stay, in the heart of town and pretty close to the main tourist destinations. Rooms are equipped with aircon and toiletries. Bathrooms are shared but well maintained. They've got private parking available for guests.

Local bar in the middle of the town, near to the beach and main avenue.
The prices are good.
The bar is always busy, outdoors space to enjoy your drinks.
The staff friendly.
Ask tl the Bart man for the daily specials.

I was watching a very well known Australian punter, that was at this hotel with him and his 2 friends/emploees. Anyway, the ‘manager’ singled out 1 of these men, and was very very rude. She had a rude attitude, was NOT accomodating at all.
I will DEFINITELY make sure to never go to this hotel, and neither will my friends or my family.

I was walking around the street in Airlie beach town and I can say this is the most happening place in Airlie beach, so crowded and so many people.
A lot of people are cheering at the center I was like what's going on,
Toad racing! Said someone
I was like what?!
And yeah, toad racing,
It was very interesting.
After that they have a karaoke session indoors.
Never stay in the hotel but the vibes in the bar are great!

I was a regular at Magnums until tonight. I live in Airlie beach and had friends come to visit and thought it would be nice to show them Magnums, but I severely regret that decision. The frosty, mocking atmosphere from staff was appalling and shocking. I am mortified that I brought visiting friends to this establishment and gave them a tainted experience of Airlie Beach.

Hi! I went to your club and had the worst time. There was a gay trying to touch me and I told the guards. The guards told med that they kicked him out the back way and that he won’t come to the club again. What happens 30 minutes later? Yes the same gay that the “guards” kicked out. Sends videos to us. “Have fun at the outside” and then dancing with the guards. I really hope you get some new guards. I have never experience anything like this before.

Great place to have some drinks in the evening. Live music every night! It was nice to see people together, as it was busy here and hadn't seen many people in a few weeks.

Great fun, good music, great bar services, kind staff, security don't muck around, you do wrong then off n out you go! Which is great, we don't need idiots ruining others night. I find the prices for drinks pretty good compared to other places. During the day it is family friendly, games on offer, pool tables available and children allowed in with parents which is great especially on weekends, plenty of food options too so no need to go hungry n they have accommodation on site too, great place to hang out if you just want to chill in town, great for backpackers. Just wish the live music played till 11/12 instead of 10, keep the crowd going, everyone would benefit from it.

Great area to sit and watch the world go by whilst enjoying a drink , chat and live music .
Easy Covid check in , plenty of seating , quick bar service with a smile. The view was pleasant watching everyone walk by and having fun in the beer garden .

Good spot with good music and friendly bar staff. HOWEVER, the bouncers really need to be put in line. They act like they are directing convicts into a prison bus. Its really not a good first impression when you enter.

First time in Airlie with my partner on a holiday with a group of friends. Dropped in for a visit with friends and had a good experience so much we came back later only to be treated like criminals. Quite the opposite to the definition of hospitality. Security ruined my experience entering the venue and left me bitter the remainder of the night. Shamefully enough a fellow patron or probable local noticed my experience after entering and said “Steve” the doorman who is supposedly in charge of the security is usually like that towards people. A simple hello would be a minimum standard you would think greeting a potential customer but no. I got “ID” of course I handed it over to be photographed he stuck the iPad up in my face and said “get back over there” whilst he took a picture. I then took a few steps awaiting my partner have her photo taken whilst the other security guard stepped into my personal space, then told me to wait over there. I explained to him I was waiting for my partner and his response was “I don’t care, do what I said”. After this we collected friends and left the venue. Unfortunate for the review but management need to be aware of the initial attitude of your security staff when behind it are such lovely, cultural and respectful bar staff who were magnificent and hard working.

Dropped in on a whim. This is a great venue with great views, good food and icy cold beers. A little bit pricey, but nowhere near outrageous. Will very happily return.

Booked Magnums for the one night prior to going sailing and did the job!
The check in staff (Jules) was lovely and welcoming.
The process easy enough although I did get lost getting to my room as it's akin to wandering around a rain forrest - but this is more my lack of navigational skills than anything else (Id get lost in a cul de sac 😉).
The room was huge and they had the a/c on so nice and cool post walking from the marina - and it was a pretty humid day!
Check out was easy enough too (Jules again). Nice to get an engaged, curious person rather than going through a process.
They have kitchens for the backpackers and little social areas - so it's probably a good way to mix n mingle too (if you so desire)
Anyhoo- did the job and worth the stay!
Of course, Zip is part of this review - no relevance at all- but Zippy Spam is a thing 😅

Best place in town for a cold beer and cigarette (if that's what you want to do). Loads of good beers on tap, little pricey for the better beers, unfortunately. Lots of space and seating... Great position.
