What a great place for a family gathering. The service by the staff is top tier, the facilities are fantastic (includes a kids area!) and the food was very tasty! The kids meals I was most impressed with, affordable meals + drinks + dessert + kids goodie bag! WOW! The adult meals were fantastic too, great value for money and delicious! I will definitely be returning to Magpies for my next family gathering!

Went for lunch today to take advantage of "steak day". Most tables were reserved & after an interaction with a staff member & saying we would come back later after the "lunch rush" (they have all day dining) she found us (within 2mins) in the gaming room to let us know that a reserved table was now available. Staff are amazing & so friendly & engaging. Will be back!

We love the table and drinks service here. We actually got our food first, b4 drinks, the other day. Was impressed. Put $100 into the pokies, for fun, and walked home with $570!! Of course I gave the Mrs some. Happy wife happier life.

We had lunch. Hubby had the steak chips & salad, I had The Special, Coconut Pork Curry with rice & beans. Hubby said his meal was very good & well priced, my meal had no flavour, too much rice, hardly any meat & 5 pieces of beans, so was not enjoyable. Haven't been to the club for many years,like all the improvements. The staff were all very pleasant & attentive. Will be back I. A couple

Was busy when we arrived for a coffee and cake deal, plenty of tables and was fast service cakes were fresh and great

Staff is fantastic and friendly with full table service something you don't see at all sports bars food is the same as you expect at most places but still definitely worth the trip

Sports bar is perfect place to have a few coldies, and bet on the horses. Food is pretty good too. Nice atmosphere

Shoutout to two servers Li and Elise! Elise was amazing, especially with my mums special order making sure she got everything right, and even checking with the chef to make sure they could clean pans for her allergies so it was contaminated. Elise took our order and patiently waited for each of us to look at the menu. Li was very kind while cleaning up after us at our table and was extremely well mannered, she also double checked when giving us our orders and made sure to mention which order was my mums and double checked it was ok for her to eat. Absolutely perfect experience!

My favorite club in MACKAY. We frequent here often. Lovely atmosphere, Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is ok but I'm a bit of a food snob so if you're happy with basic pub grub you'll be satisfied.

Morning tea here is a must. They have a huge array of delectable cakes and slices, make superb toasted sandwiches and excellent coffee and shakes. Big round tables allow a large group to sit together in the lounge area too. Definitely a place to go!

Me and my mother went for lunch today, absolutely appalled. Many things went wrong. Ordered the lunch special and sadly to say I will not order again. Rice was over cooked and cold, pork was fatty and poorly presented. Waited a over an hour not to mention the veggies were stiff as a rock and uneatable, customer service was horrendous. This restaurant really needs to up its game.

Meals were good & generous in size! Very noisy in the main eating area so we moved outside which was so much nicer!

Meals arrived reasonably quickly & well presented.
Unfortunately my medium rare steak was closer to blue & thus quite chewy. My friend was very happy with her salmon meal.
Front desk staff were exceptional. Wait staff at the tables were very good, if a little short staffed maybe. Bar staff also very good. The staff in general are a credit to this establishment.

I haven't been to Magpies for 13 years and it was a pleasant experience. Food was mostly nice, I would recommend having a variety of fresh steamed vegetables (we had a huge amount of frozen beans and carrots) also chips had no seasoning. We enjoyed our visit and will visit again. Prices were good too!

I have now done three primary school graduations here. And each had okay food and service.
I still believe the hall's sound and angles are weird.

I dined in with a table of 18 people a couple weeks ago and I was very impressed at how fast the meals came out. The restaurant was almost full aswell.
I altered a vegetarian pasta and made it vegan and the waitress (Georgia I believe) was very considerate in making sure the dish was macadmia nut free as I am allergic. I also found her to be very confident and assertive with the ordering and she looked after our table well. My meal was delicious and I really appreciate the extra care taken with my allergy.
