We recently dined there on a friday night during melbourne’s long weekend. We had a reserved table for 12 people. Every main dish ordered was fresh, tasty and perfectly cooked! A few of us ordered the barramundi and it was cooked to perfection! Compliments to the chef! We all enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back again.

We chose this because we just wanted a nice, casual place to eat on a Sunday night but one that had a great choice on the menu, and in that regard, they delivered.
You go to your table, choose what you want to eat and go up to order. We did notice food was coming out fairly quickly, but also seemingly randomly considering the way we saw people go up to order. Our meal took way longer than expected, but it was enjoyable when it finally came. The chicken kiev was perfectly golden brown on the outside and the fries were great, and while the rice was lovely, I didn't feel it fit the meal. With that said, everyone liked their meal and I'd come back here again for another casual meal be it lunch or dinner.
They have their own on site parking out the back, or there's plenty out front. The food is well priced and the service is friendly enough. Give this a go!

This was a really disappointing experience for a Hotel that I previously held in high esteem.
Arrived at 7:30 and ordered a couple of eye fillets medium well and a couple of glasses of Cab Sav.
Nothing too difficult there.
40mins later and steaks still hadn’t arrived. A polite enquiry and the waiter returns with a bowl of chips and apology advising there had been a mix up with our order. (Ie forgotten!).
Steaks finally arrive. One is good the other horrible chewy and sinuey.
Then we notice on the table that Tuesday night is free bottle of wine night. Order two mains and get a bottle of red for free. Too bad nobody told us and we had spent $44 on three glasses of red. Poor training for the staff.
The worst part was when my wife complained about the steak the waiter tried to argue the point saying he had come to check on our meals and we said all was ok. True the first bit fine, but then sinue city. Horrible. $43.50 for the Eye Fillet Special. Expected better. Much better. Cost of one steak refunded.

This is a very busy pub and it's huge. Great variety of food on menu. Have eaten here many times and have always been happy with food. Staff extremely busy but always manage to be friendly. Service can be a little slow but given the number of tables it's to be expected. Gets quite loud but has a nice atmosphere.

The food was really good and the staff friendly and very helpful. Quite spacious with good access and not too noisy. Staff were very happy for us to stay nearly the whole afternoon.

The bistro has had a makeover at some stage, very fancy looking. Booked out so we had to eat in the sports bar. Had the option to order from the bistro menu. Nice food

Really great meal for family and kids.
Steak was beautifully done and chip’s delicious. Was a Friday night so very busy and loud, but suited our little grandkids.
All meals were very good.

One of the nicest chicken Parmas we have had in a while! $15 pot and Parma, cannot go wrong! Fish was lovely and dessert just topped it! Place had a bustling vibe, especial once it was full. Great sports bar area and staff were a great display of good customer service. The manager even brought a kids drawing pack to our table for our daughter to use.

One of the best Spaghetti Marinara's I have had - perfectly cooked and a very impressive amount of seafood ingredients.
Service on Mother's Day was very organised and efficient. Great outing - even got a park out the back!

My porterhouse steak was cooked perfectly medium. Pork cutlets tasted delicious, and barramundi was nice. Would recommend 👍

My order of garlic prawns was served hot, with generous sized prawns in delicious sauce and perfectly steamed long grain rice. Most enjoyable.

My friend and I went there on a Saturday for lunch. The place was busy but not excessively. We were sat at a table away from a birthday party which was good. Off street parking was relatively easy. You order the food and drink and pay for it at the bar before sitting down to relax. We had a very pleasant and enjoyable luncheon and leaving feeling satisfied.

Malvernvale hotel has always been one of my favourite pub meal venues....The food is delicious and affordable. I am a pretty big guy with a big appetite, Malvernvale hotel is the perfect place for me when I wanna to grab a good bite. The Parma is smashingly good, I also like the burger, the schnitzel, the penne carbonara and also the salt & pepper calamari. Highly recommended, one of my favourite places!!!!

Great value, extensive menu and a relaxed vibe. The food is consistently good and the Malvernvale has great specials including steak night and a free bottle of wine when purchasing two main meals early in the week. Perfect location for a casual dinner with friends and family.

Food was terrible. Sent it away but didn’t receive any feedback from kitchen or staff. Ran out of gluten free beer too so we left. Very overpriced for below average food and service. Our only night away in Melbourne wasted.

Food isn't the best . Very average. Good place to go for a beer and mid range food if you don't mind kinda okay ish meals. The service staff are lovely and the environment is very family friendly. We had a good enough time. However, this place needs better vegetarian options. Cocktails kinda need work .

Disappointing… lamb souvlaki wrap $26, barely any meat in there, overcooked, 2 huge last bits of a lettuce head to fill up the sandwich!
Chips are overcooked, full of lettuce and huge pieces of cucumber to fill up the sandwich. Asked for tomato sauce and didn’t find it.
If I was dining in I would have definitely returned this meal.

Dinner with the crew, second time visiting a pub, spacious room quite busy on a Tuesday night. In the corner the cricket/soccer plays on the screen.
Is $30 for fish & chips standard at places like these? I'm not sure but the serving was HUGE! man sized I'd already planned to get half takeaway before we started. Crispy fries, those flat grilld shaped ones. Salad was blah with only a spot of dressing, we need more lemon. Fish was good though. Tartar sauce a little thick. Friends had the pork salad and parma, both huge and delicious they say.

Service was friendly. There was an offer, per 2 mains free bottle of wine! Not my scene, but recommended for huge servings, weeknight dinners, family friendly. $15 parma mondays peaked our interest.

Dinner tonight - 4. We ordered the wine - De Bortoli - Great Value at $8 per glass. Service delightful and helpful. I really wanted the BBQ prawns with Pan Fried calamari (usually comes deep fried). Made the inquiry and yes they could accommodate me. Amazing - Fantastic salad - Perfect in every way. Great customer service and 10/10. Wish there were more places like this. Well done - All the staff were absolutely terrific. Will definitely return again and again.

Calamari would be hard to beat. I had the seafood Plater and it was huge, good chips too . Everything was fresh and better value than in the restaurant. Nice place for dinner or lunch.
Very cold beer. Parma is good and so are the shanks. You can't go wrong in this place.

Well deserved 5 star bistrol. Good location, very decent and clean. A bit of everything to entertain young and old. Menu has a good variety of small plate and main. Food is of high quality as a bistrol. Sports bar with pool table for the teens. Poke venue for the senior after dinner. Parking available at the back. Street parking outside the hotel.
