We wanted a quiet place to eat that wasnt noisey. This bar is that, the atmosphere was great. We ordered the best steak sandwich and the meal was honestly great. I have 2 criticisms 1: there was a lack of decent craft beer on tap, and with so many available locally it doesnt make sense. The ball and chain in the same building has a better sellection.
2: prepare to have your wallet raped on the drink prices.. $10 for a cider stubbie, $11 for a little creatures stubbie (a pint is $11 across the road and a 6 pack is only $22!) A pint of peroni will sting you $12..
So food is good drinks bill ruins the whole experience and left us feeling ripped off..

Visited this place for a late lunch on a Thursday.
Not very busy outside however it was quite hot at the time. Nice place to eat outside with park views across the road.
Ordered two spicy chicken salads and a bottle of SSB. The amount of food served was more than expected. My partner was unable to finish her meal so I finished it for her. Super tasty, chicken wasn't dry and the dressing was good.
Service at the bar was satisfactory.
We will be back again to dine inside.

Very disappointing mid week meal here for my son's birthday, the steak sandwich was so tough the knife wouldn't cut it and the grilled fish of the day wouldn't feed a cat! More fried chips on the plate than anything else and so over priced, won't be coming back....

This was the worst meal l have eaten out for years. The garlic bread was stale flat bread stuck on a plate of mushed garlic covered in oil..the steak sandwich had meat beaten to about 2mm thick plonked on with lettuce and not much else. Even the chips were left. Won't be back and won't recommend.yuk.

The summer salad with tandoor prawns is a real winner! Delicious dressing, nice big chunks of avocado, and 8 big plump tasty prawns. It was a really big serve too!
I wasn't a fan of the vongole linguine, to me it had a strange flavour and the pasta was overcooked, and two of the clams were still closed. But my partner liked it a lot so no complaints :P
We visited with a deal from EatClub so it was really good value.

The food was nice but a huge crowded table of drunk/yobo people came in and staff said they couldn’t ask them to keep their voices down. Even though they knew it was excessive in a bar area, there should be a level of respect.

The food here is more 'upmarket' here than the fish shops across the road, if you would like something more classy. The food here is nice and the outdoor seating area is cozy. Food was served quickly and definitely better than average!

Solid food, steak sandwich is especially nice. I'd just like to see more veggies or salad as part of the meals.

Really liked the lounge bar.
We both got the steak sandwich which we asked to well done no blood.
Much to our disappointment both were rare. Steak was super thin which was fine and wouldnt have taken long to actually cook it as asked.
Also had a lot of trouble actually paying by card as apparently they have trouble with the internet (around 10 times trying)
Will return as a really nice bar for a catchup

Pictured: char grilled 220gm MSA beef striploin, char grilled 300g Tbone steak and Roast heirloom carrots, beetroot, garlic, rosemary and crumbled feta. Steaks are priced at 42 dollars. Vegetables, 12 dollars. The serloin was very thin (my husband called it a hamburger steak) and hence, overcooked. The Tbone was ok... The veges were also ok. Nothing to rave about. Very average.

Most disappointing high tea experience I’ve ever experienced in Perth. Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend. Service was so poor. Food was below average. Majority of our party was disappointed and no apology from the manager either.

It was convenient to the hotel and satisfied the need. Staff were nice and welcoming.
Food was served with no delay and was content with the selection of the main course.

It is in the Esplanade Hotel, a nice relax place for a simple dinner, we had the pasta and a burger, it was good.

I love the way they have used photos years ago in the early 19th Century even on the cover of their menu. Food beautifully presented and lovely and fresh tasting really great! More intimate elegant feel of surroundings. Service really excellent. The Esplanade Building beautifully restored.

I found it rather dull to be honest. The staff are also somewhat hit or miss. For the most part, great customer service, but you had that odd one out staff member that didn't smile and I suppose ruined the overall experience her team members were providing. Even the security guard was friendlier than this staff member. A good range of food at modest prices. Their pizza's certainly looked appetising.
The decor and lighting again was some what dull. The seats were not consistent having to use different types for a group of roughly 8 people. Some sitting on couch like chairs while others on leather seats. It just gave off that overall impression of disorganisation.
Also, the toilets are a mile away from the seating area.
Not terrible, but there was no natural flow to the place.
I'd expect more from a hotel.

Friendly staff apart from an initial blaise greeting where upon staff changed their attitude towards us after we opened up a tab connected to our room, which happened to be a Premier suite. Reasonable priced beverages. Menu didn't differ much from Room Service in accommodation. All in all a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a quiet beverage.

Dropped in for a cocktail on our last night in Fremantle- nice space and atmosphere- unfortunately the bar people were not allowed to make cocktails not on the menu ( and I wanted a simple gin martini)??

Don’t get the $42 strip loin steak! It’s a child size portion, about 8mm thick and like leather. Also half cooked chips, very disappointing.

Absolutely shocking, ordered a rare steak and received basically a “mircrowave” well done steak. Great value for $50 if you ask me… not! Never going here again!
