Your main beers on tap, plenty of screens to view the footy, welcoming staff and what you expect from a pub for food.

When served, we were treated as if we were a burden on the staff, not to mention charging $10 extra for a cheap and simple substitute, roast was more of an uncooked piece of steak too. Parma was ok. Horrible compared to the last experience.

We had calamari, chicken Parma and 2 serves of the lamb shanks. Calamari & chicken were fine. The lamb tasted bland, like it had been boiled in water and served. What a waste of good lamb & money. Try Sandbelt hotel, they do a much better lamb shanks. Disappointed.

To day I took my 92yrs old father for a meal. I have been going to this Hotel for over 5yrs. I was not not happy and bloody disappointed with my fathers meal very disappointe. The Franch waiter was very understanding 5 Stars but this chef 0. If I had gone to my locel fish and chips shop I would have had the best meal. Just look at this photo discusting :( Look at No 2 photo. This is Fish and Chips Home cooked. Im not a Pro-Chef LOL LOL

Thursday night special had steak and chips at a great deal. The place was bustling with over 100 people at the same time. Overall the pub vibe was lovely, heaps of seating options inside and outside. The food was not the best among the pubs I have been to. The steak was requested medium and was unfortunately served rare. The risotto was not delicious and portion was disappointing. Given the crowd, service was extremely slow and food took about 40 minutes from the time we ordered.

The senior bloke with the unkept beard, chasing me down to tell you that you close in 3 minutes when you ACTUALLY close at 1am which doesn’t add up. Your story about people collecting their money is irrelevant to me, and a pathetic reason, for you to go home at the time YOU want. Loser.

The place has a lot of potential. They seem to have procedures in place that make it harder for themselves. My suggestion is that if you have a large group paying individually, take the payment at the time of ordering at the table. Things will run a lot smoother for staff and clientele. Other than that, it is a great venue. We will be back.

The McKinnon is comfortable, the staff are friendly, and some of the meals look great. For a vegetarian, however, the options are limited and expensive with pesto spaghetti the only main on offer today. For $27 this dish was disappointing, the serve small and the sauce watery. Vegetarian food is not difficult, nor obscure, and pesto is easy to get right. My guest’s fish and chips looked great and was thoroughly enjoyed for a similar price.

The last few visits to the McKinnon have been disappointing. The prices have increased and the portion size decreased. For example, we ordered the calamari salad and the minute amount of calamari was laughable. Last Sunday the lamb roast, at $30, had a very small amount of mash and Brussels sprouts. A brave addition as most folk dislike that vegetable with a passion!! My lamb was fine however my dining partner's lamb had an extraordinary amount of inedible fat. Each visit recently we have noticed a lot less folk than previous visits. Wonder if this is a sign or is their main focus now on comedy acts and the bar? The McKinnon really impresses, so much so, this is my third visit and I don’t do repeat visits to places unless they are good. Life’s too short! Modern, classy fit-out, the food is delicious and well presented, service is friendly and knowledgeable also an interesting wine list to add to the accolades! The fourth visit with friends is already in the diary!

Sunday lunch was fantastic - we had the Roast of the Day and it was Chicken yesterday. It was delicious - marinated and served with great accompaniments and a generous amount of gravy. The service from all the staff was excellent. Alex, our main wait person, was outstanding - she was informative and friendly. The tables were all wiped and reset as soon as they were vacated which doesn't happen at a lot of places (it's my pet hate!) and the staff were refilling glasses and replenishing drinks regularly. There was live music from 3 pm and the atmosphere was warm and lively. Very family friendly and space for outside dining and room for little ones to move around if they wanted. Highly recommended.

Sports bar. Lots and lota of tvs. Drinks are ok. Staff weren't attentive, multiple times. They probably should be more at the small bar. When they do serve you, though, they're nice. Not my kind of scene but that's coz I prefer regular bars than sports bars. I didn't get a chance to try out the restaurant but it looked nice

Service was excellent. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Food unfortunately was very average. Your stock standard pub grub lacking any flair. Although, it was very reasonably priced. No vegetarian/vegan options which came as a disappointment to a few in our party, but we were told by the restaurant host that they had plans to change up the menu in the near future.

Relaxed pub atmosphere with nice food better than your average. Steak night is a winner. Great place for a family catch up.

Not the best Sunday roast ( without the trimmings ?) Terrible roast pork with fatty soft crappy crackling! A few potatoes, a piece of broccoli and apple mush ? On a better note the oysters at 5$ each with some bread and salted butter ( a rather small portion of butter with a few salt flakes sprinkled on top of it . ) but better then the" roast without all the trimmings!

McKinnon Hotel presents as a great pub in the area. Food was quite limited in options but the basics were there. The quality was solid. The staff were excellent and very timely. Would go back for a casual drink 🍻

It was such a lovely weather outside so we came here and sat outdoor. Very nice ambience outside and a bit quiet when we came on Sunday. We had the pork terrine, Sunday roast chicken chicken parma. The chicken parma was just okay but we love the pork terrine that they served with mustard and relish and some baguettes. It was very nicely prepared. The roast chicken was super delicious too, perfectly cooked succulent meat and smooth mashed potato with flavourful jus and roast mushrooms. I actually wanted lamb or pork roast on that day so pretty sad when they didn’t have it but changed my mind afterwards, as the chicken was gorgeous too! Overall a very nice and pleasant experience, so will come back and try more on the menu.

I ordered the risotto from the mains section, $26 and I got a tiny portion. It tasted good but the cost was high for such a tiny amount. Very disappointed and annoyed in that way. I didn't tell the staff that I was annoyed because I didn't want to make a fuss. The staff were lovely though. Overall, not recommending this place, not going there again and I'm telling my friends and family not to go there. I'm now editing my post. I emailed you for a refund, and you never replied. I never got a refund. Disgusting lies

Great pub, disappointed in the advertised Sunday music sessions of Zoe Badwi and Friends - Went to have a listen to find 2 old guys singing love songs for an hour. No one else seemed to be on the line up - not sure were Zoe and her friends were

Food was pretty average even by pub standards (beer on tap was sensational). I had fish and chips (chips were good!) and my wife had the steak special which she said was barely edible. Granted the place was very busy but we won’t be back unless it’s just for drinks…

Fantastic spot! Amazing food, friendly staff, and a delightful atmosphere. Ample indoor and outdoor seating options add to the charm. The staff is incredibly helpful, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The drinks are absolutely delicious, complementing the overall delightful ambiance. A must-visit for those who appreciate great food and excellent service.

Came for a team lunch (6pp) and the kitchen was incredibly slow with our food, despite there only being 1 or 2 other tables. However it was great that all our meals arrived to the table at the same time. The weekday lunch deals are great value and it's very handy to have a carpark on-site.

Both ordered the chicken Parma something we’ve had before but this time it was so dry we had to drink water after every bite to wash it down. No one came and asked how the meal was. Didn’t even ask when we went to pay. Not busy only a couple tables as went early so no excuse. Won’t be going back.

booked for a table of 10 (8 adults, 2 kids) for dinner. spacious and modern venue. was seated away from the crowd. whilst waiting, we hadn't asked but would have been good for them to provide paper and pencils for kids amusement. serving sizes were substantial for adult meals. the burger was tasty, not oily, perfect size and chicken parma was tender and enough for one (could do with more salad as it was wilted due to the dressing). the kids burgers could be upgraded to a standard "McDonald's cheeseburger" size as they were small palm sized sliders. the kids meals came with a stack of fries to compensate for the lack of burger. also, would have been nice if the waiter had noticed and request the kitchen to have the kids meals come prior to everything else as kids complained of being hungry for 20min or so. overall, it was a good meal. im sure with a few minor tweaks to the service i would of had a better experience.

Best local pub in McKinnon and its surrounding areas. Great indoor and outdoor seating with more than enough parking slots. The restaurant is clean and well kept. Staff are quick, efficient, and friendly. Drinks are good. Food is delicious and what makes this place worth it. The food, especially the chicken parm and Thursday steak specials, are a cut above your typical neighborhood pub. Just be reminded that their Thursday steaks (at $28– what a steal for a 300 gram porterhouse!) are quite popular with the locals so book a table in advance.

Been a few times to their comedy nights and overall it's a nice venue, good crowd and friendly staff. My only issue is they crank the heating up way to high (in the upstairs comedy room anyway) making it uncomfortably hot. If they fix that, it would get 5 stars.

Always love going to our local; the McKinnon. Staff are very friendly, they are always very welcoming and excited to see their regular patrons. The staff in the bar even remember your drink order for when you come back another day. I’ve personally never had a bad meal here, the menu is pretty stock standard with the pub classics, but also have other things on the menu for those wanting a more exotic meal.

A fairly disappointing experience. Partners burger was dry and over cooked and my Parma didn’t taste fresh - neither had that much flavour. Beer garden is set up a treat though
