Went there on the 2/04/2022, had fantastic meal, even better because they the smorgasbord reopened.
Great atmosphere, good service and definitely be going back.....

Went in tonight for a fettuccini carbonara and chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy.
Chicken schnitzel was good some parts were quite thin tho that made some parts juicy other parts dry but was crispy and fresh.
Carbonara is where it went bad, it was basically all garlic and a basic white sauce not a carbonara so it was really watery not like an actual sauce so that disappointed us.

Was nice to see a salad bar which I've not seen for a while since COVID. Food and atmosphere good.

Wanted to go out for a nice meal. The staff were so rude. I ordered the spaghetti it came out cold my partner ordered the Cesar salad. It came out looking like they had put it through the blender. His croutons were rock hard and squeaked against his teeth. The salad was warm? And was dripping in oil from the chicken. The salad and veg bar was poorly looked after as there was hardly anything in it and the beetroot was dry, bread rolls were also hard. They decided to seat us at the back of the bistro in the dark. The food was tasteless.

Today the 16/4/2024 , I have to say that this is the busiest I have ever seen in here. The staff were run off their feet & yet as busy as they were, they maintained a high quality of service, of course not every need could not have been met at the exact time, most people were very happy with the service.
Good on you guys for doing such a wonderful job. Thanks 🤩

The waitress came to our table dropped some of my seafood basket on the floor you get three prawns and when one is on the floor you would think a sorry and some thing to replace it would be standard but nothing a place not worthy of going to

The Best Chicken Caesar Salad ever, bar staff a Happy bunch. Special mention to Tahlia, (our photographer) Nichole and Sarina? (Hope I got your name right) Great service. Also sent compliments to the chef… for a Salad?? A definite first! 🤩🥰

Service bright and bubbly, but I can only give the food one star for the entree of onion rings.. 12 rings for 14 dollars, straight out the fryer and not even drained of excess oil. I can't rate the main as I put one mouthful in and decided a second chew wasn't worth my time or the near $40 I paid for it. Half the menu gone, the regular servers gone and 3/4 tables empty on a Thursday night. What happened to one of my favourite places to eat 😢 Sadly, will not return.

Really enjoyed dinner - had a chocolate brownie after but completely let me down. The wait for it was ridiculous and then the brownie itself was not edible - not sure if it was undercooked or just.. cake? But either way I couldn’t eat it. Very disappointed since it was the only gluten free dessert option.

Probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. I cannot understand how someone can make a meal with the lowest of efforts... I ordered the ribs and it actually looked like the ribs were boiled with no flavour and gravy thrown over it. Not to mention we paid close to $80 for ribs, kids meal and 3 drinks... gordan ramsey definitely needs to come and do hells kitchen at this place.

On our first visit it was very busy but the service was so quick, food was very tasty, best cheesy garlic bread ever and the staff were very friendly and helpful!! Lovely fire burning in the lounge area.

Me and my wife went on Saturday night. Ordered steak and chips asked for the gravy to be on the side. They brought it out and the gravy was all over the food. My wife sent hers back took them almost 30 minutes to return her meal. But the steak was so bad we both couldn't eat it and mind you it was $40 for the meal. Think they need to hire better cooks

Meal was ordered at the bar and was served quickly by the waitress. The food was hot and tasty and good value. There was a self serve bar with salad and roast veg options along with small bread dinner rolls. An enjoyable night

Love the Tavern. Salad/veggie bar operating. Ideal for Birthday celebrations..large long or round tables for crowds, tables for pairs or groups of 4 or 6. Regular, Seniors and Chef's Specials available at Lunch. $1-20pp. Very reasonable prices. Excellent staff. ♿🚻. 2 ♿🅿️. The entrance doors are a bit heavy, do not open by themselves but have easy access otherwise.
There's a Lounge Bar, Sports Bar where they have Karaoke on Sat nights from 8pm. And of course the large dining room.
May I suggest the large Lamb Schnitzel at $24? It's excellent! Dinner $20-40

If you want decent sized meals for money then this is the place for you but if you want quality with it then unfortunately you will be disappointed. The chips they use are clearly black and gold they have a really disgusting taste that sits in the mouth for a while I ordered a chicken snit it was thick and juicy only issue was the taste of the oil and how lazy chefs where when cleaning the chicken there was clots and grit in parts of the chicken..
Wife got wedges there wicked but her spaghetti was terrible nothing but sauce it was more of a soup then spaghetti.
Kids meals were decently sized for money the nuggets and chips fantastic for sure the drink and desert that came with it was amazing.
Overall it's not worth a visit unless you prefer to watch your kids eat a nice meal while you get fed below par food .

Had tea, the waitress brought our te over handed me my plate, didn't tell me it was a hot plate, I burned my hands. My partner got the steak, wasn't given steak knife and wasn't cooked to what he asked for. Other than that, was OK

Hadn't eaten here since BC (Before COVID) ordered two midway burgers, salt and pepper squid, and fish and chips. Salad and vege bar back in service and was good. Meals were good and tasty and service was reasonably good considering how busy it was, it was pretty packed. The only complaint was that not all of our meals came out at the same time, not too far apart, but enough to be annoying. Based on this experience, I would recommend and go back.

Great to see a place with decent choice in salad bar. Meal was very tasty, chips cooked well and range of menu choices. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Good meals reasonably priced do have self service for hot and cold veg and salad. In the middle of doing some renos .

For a Saturday night the front bar closed at 12. Of course the gaming lounge was open. Staff were lovely. Thank you.
I remember when the Tavern use to have a night club and live bands.

First time at this pub last Tuesday for the schnitzel day excellent value large schnitzels good salad bar huge dining area and good drink specials. The staff were very friendly and made to feel welcome. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend this place.

Decided to go there for a pub meal on my birthday.
The worst experience in decades. The food was inedible, when I asked for a wedge of lemon with my oysters I was told to get it myself at the salad bar. The salad bar was absolutely awful, even the bread rolls were undercooked.
If you enjoy good food, give this place a miss. I will never set foot in this place again

At the time I was impressed. The food tasted nice and a salad bar is always appreciated. I had the steak sub and it was delicious. But the following day I was extremely ill. Since dining here was the only out of ordinary food I had in the last 48 hours I’m assuming I had food poisoning from something I ate here. So maybe just don’t order the steak sub because my family were all fine and ordered different things.
Other than that the staff were all very friendly and the restaurant was tidy and looked after.

Amazing new dish I tried definitely worth getting. Fish was cooked well and so was the pawns, the chips were well salted. Stuff were very on the ball about picking up plates. Overall a good experience.

Always busy when we go, so it's a popular pub. Salad bar & Veggie bar is back again so you can help yourself to side dishes same veggies as before. They top up food trays when they are really low. Bread rolls you will find on the veggie side keeping nice & warm so that is lovely change & a great spot for them.
