Yes yes, we love the Monash! All day and night long she's open.... well nearly anyway, take the kids too... lols. No, no, just kidding adults.... I mean I can always babysit.... hehe. Love kids I do!!!

Wow. I know times are tough and because of it I don't normally leave a 1 star but what i experienced saturday was too much to handle.
Kids cheeseburger that smelt off.
Stale chips. Clearly frozen for way too long of bad oil.
Bao buns that were oven baked!?!
Not steamed?? Did the kitchen not know?
And a salad that was all oil and no flavor.
I think every aspect of the food could be easily approved on but no cre was given.
Multiple accounts of sick tummies and illness came from the fellow paitrons.
Hospitality is hard atm and so is hiring so I hope you guys can turn it around

What a weird joint. Some sort of pub but more like a massive bistro with a large pokies pit. It's not really a "pub". Then another "irish pub" attached on the side, (which was closed when I visited) Food OK, service average. Totally bizzare. Nope, you can do better.

We stayed in a family room which was very spacious clean and well equipped.
Large bathroom and great shower.
Only stayed 1 night but would be happy to stay again if in the area.

Went there for their Christmas Day lunch and it was terrific. Meal was delicious, service impeccable and the visit from Santa made it all the more special.

Well where to start... It seems to be a common theme... 'The Big Buck Hunter Pro'. Incredibly my two mates and I passed up an incredible conversation with two lovely girls to play this machine. Only after it guzzled $45 of our hard earned money did we realise it was providing us with no return. Please I advise all who wander into Dooleys to steer clear!

We hosted our 21st at Dooleys and it was amazing. Staff were super nice and helpful, big shout out to Seona for organising everything and checking on us throughout the night. Definitely recommend hosting an event here!

We had forty staff Christmas function last night in the hotel. For over 120 minutes our forty staff were starving for food. The kitchen manager deem it OK to delay for service to our group because she has Bistro customers orders as well. A direct complaint to the kitchen staff in the kitchen asking for more food is deemed against work safety. Despite the fact that we spent over 100 per staff, service we received was the lowest standard among AHG hotels.

We didn’t stay in a room, but we came for a random lunch with the kids. The main dining area is a decent size, everything was very clean. Toilets are modern with no foul smell. There’s a great play area for the kids which I was thankful for and there’s a great children’s menu. Standard stuff nothing fancy. My go-to is always a chicken Cesar salad which was very nice.
There’s a pokies area but we didn’t venture into (we had 3 kids with us)

We booked this place for a family birthday function & unfortunately were very disappointed in the service provided considering what we paid.
Understaffed, considering we where told there would be waitresses going around serving food on platters, I saw one waitress bring out two platters of food. Nowhere near enough to cater for 70 people & the platters were just dumped on the bar where our guests had no idea.
Bar persons, we where told there would be two people attending the bar for the night, only one bar person.
Security, we were told there would be two security people at the door at the start of the night right through to the end of the evening. When we arrived there was nobody there. Then we finally noticed a security guard midway through the night (yes that's right one security guard) & from what I've heard legally there's supposed to be two (where is the health & safety?)
From the start nothing went right, the way we asked it to be. We were told by the co-ordinator not to worry, relax & enjoy the night. How could we, when what was promised, meant to be provided & paid for was not delivered????
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR FAMILY FUNCTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was honestly disrespected by the staff when a couple mates and I were in a pickle. We had already placed $80 into the Big Buck Pros machine which stole our money and refused to co-operate. Common theme with the staff who gave no sympathy apparently.

Unfortunately it has alot to be desired. Catfished by the photos online. Small rooms with minimal amenities. Some what renovated... smokers on the door step which is annoying. House keeping is to a bare minimum

Unexpected and under rated "locals" bar in the Monash Hotel. Surprising that it isnt more popularn on a Friday. Atmospheric and full of classic Irish touches incl two dart boards. Top Notch Kilkenny and Guiness on tap.

Unaware that my Mother's covid certificate issued by her doctor would not be acceptable for her to get in for a planned family celebration. The said certificate has been produced and accepted by numerous other venues including the hospital that she has various appointments in. Instead of someone from management coming out to explain why they choose not to accept the certificate, they sent out the young girl who went in to face us. Shame on you!
Now the meals, yuk ,yuk my ceasar salad came out without any dressing on it as apparently it only comes with anchovy dressing, so what you essentially get is a bowl of salad leaves, an overcooked egg, a bit of bacon and cheese on the bottom topped with dry bread bit that were passing as croutons. Other meals included steak which was chewy. Don't waste your time or money.

This pub has good meals at reasonable prices including $9.95 Seniors. Can get noisy on rare occasions around the playground if busy but generally it's reasonably quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. Good place for a meal if you want to get away from the crowds and have a "quiet meal"*. (*Hopefully, may be busy sometimes?).

This place is a traditional pub. They do not try to be pretentious, with over the top restaurant meals. They keep the pub favourites with various chef specials. Good value for the money, the service is quite good.

They hosted a 21st birthday for someone in my family and the setup was easy, they had everything we could have needed and were very helpful and accommodating to our requests. Service is fantastic and food is amazing. I definitely recommend hosting functions here.

The worst experience in Australia.
1. Double charged the room rate even without an ask.
2. Did not make the bed everyday.
3. A bug showed up on the bed.
4. Did not refill the shampoo kit everyday until guest asked for it.
5. Did not refill the breakfast box until guest asked for it.
6. Did not provide the hair dryer until guest asked for it.
7. No apologize from staff when guest complained.

These guys are the best, I lovee visiting here with my kids, the play area keeps them busy while mummy can have a few snifters of champagne. The food is absolutely divine, it's like an angel shot into my mouth. 5 stars

The food at this place was disgusting with under cooked meals not one meal but two under cooked then I had a pork chop which was under cooked which was sent back which the same piece I was given back normally cook a new meal but no you took a bite so I will give you the Same piece back still not cooked

Stayed for one night while my wife was in the Monash Hospital. Friendly, caring, and extremely helpful staff. The bed was comfortable, the shower warmed up quickly, and the room was nice and tidy. Would recommend and stay again.

so we go to monash hotel pub, for dinner. we are presented with menus including the specials. we go to order and they did not half of the stuff listed on the menu saying they are sold out at 6pm. The managers excuse was "we had a busy night last night and the head chef is sick" but the waitor said they had an "issue with the supplier". mind you there were only two families including us there so I find that hard to believe.which one is it supplier or bust night???
Absolutely atrocious service and if you want a proper I would steer clear from this place.
I have never been so disgusted in my life. not only this the toilets are absolutely disgusting and smell awful.. seems like they havent been cleaned in a while.

Showers take awhile to warm and the pillows are big/tall but but the place is clean and convenient, especially with the pub here to get food and a big shopping centre across/down the road. Great place for medical appointments. Staff and lovely and helpful.

On a rainy Tuesday we popped in for lunch. Was very quiet. Not many options for me as I am trying to loose weight. Ordered via the bar code system and waited more than 30 minutes ( only 1-2 other groups there) when food came had to ask for our drinks again. Lovely staff, food ok.

Okay, so this is a pokie place. We had dinner there. Couldn't believe the quality and quantity of the food for the price. Really great value! A choice of vegetables or chips? Haven't seen that in a while so I had the veggies.
It wasn't busy, being a cold Tuesday night. But the service was quick, the food great so I can't think of anything negative.
Really lovely, unpretentious staff that, if you went there regularly, you'd probably get to know like friends.
Would totally recommend this place.

Late afternoon lunch. We've been here numerous times over the years. Food is always delicious and service is also very good. We were the only people eating in the bistro. Other people were there but they were all in the pokies hence 2 stars for atmosphere. Would recommend lamb shank and fish/chips.

It’s said that 50% of pubs are below average and waiting half an hour for our order didn’t thrill us. Wouldn’t go back as there’s enough competition to try for better service and food. Not bad, just not good. ( I’m told I’m being generous)

I ordered the pumpkin feta salad. It was missing half the ingredients and was drenched in what I could think was French dressing from the supermarket. The table behind us ordered after us but received their meals before us. We thought 1hr.20mins would be enough to have ordered and eaten before heading off to the show we were seeing, it took shy of an hour to get our meals. The staff were lovely, though. Toilets were clean.

I just ate the worst chicken parma of my life. The $26 piece of rubber topped with an old slab of ham and some gooey cheese was about $25 overpriced. The chips were alright and got the 2 stars. I wasn't game to try the salad, although it looked harmless enough. No wonder the bistro was empty on a Friday night when I couldn't get a table anywhere else local.

I didn’t see the actual hotel rooms so no idea what they are like. My uncle was down from Western Australia & currently based In Rowville. Parma was decent sized but bit bland-my uncle & stepdad both had different Parma. The steaks for very well done need little more improvement-they were still bit too pink, the steak was nice and tender though. The pumpkin & feta salad with smoked salmon was a little bland but still delicious, could add abit lemon juice to increase flavour!
I definitely be back at some stage. Service was great & staff were friendly despite the restaurant being incredibly busy. They obviously had limited staff on but did incredibly well.
Thanks for the update-great northern is also type of marlin related fish. Not just a beer hence why i thought there was mix up & is also a picture of said fish on the great northern beer!

Have been coming here regularly for the last 3 to 4 years. Unfortunately tonight was a sad. Booking 21 people 12 kids with 3 days notice. We ordered as family groups at the same time. The service was slow and hap hazard. We were missing 2 meals...when questioned where are they...the answer was we already delivered them. We asked for the meals to be delivered and proved through receipt and payment that we did indeed ordered them...we had to demand for the meals...and no apology...extremely bad service poor attitude and to be honest after being in the industry for 25 years never ever have I experienced such poor customer service. Unfortunately monash hotel u have lost your regular monthly 20 plus booking.

Had my birthday dinner for a group. The playground area is good for young children. Dining food quality is good, price is fair and good portions. Waitering staff numbers seems thin for busy weekend night but service is pretty good and responsive.

Good Quiet atmosphere, post covid. Pokies venue has plenty of machines; automatic play. Great selection of Spirits , wine etc at Bar. Awesome bar prices for drinks, especially during Happy Hour. Sports venue located at the front in the pokies area; has seating and televised sports to suit any patron. Out door smoking area, no seating, small area. Bar serves good food at Bar prices; including the normalservice for serious Pokies players. Bistro is open; popular with locals. Food is reasonably priced and has plenty of seating areas for any function, big or small. Car park has enough parking for all patrons ; including guests of overnight stay or longer, regarding the Nightcap Hotel. Staff is very friendly, extremely professional and always happy to help. There is a drive thru bottle shop located 500 metres from the front door on Princes Hwy.. BWS...

Function at Dooleys Bar - originally booked for my son's 21st birthday in 2020 but this became a 22nd party a year later, post lockdown. Fantastic private party venue, heaps of space, pool tables, darts, dance floor, TV screens all around, booths and tables, plenty of seating, bathrooms, good audio system, microphone, private entrance and outdoor area. Central bar looked fantastic with coloured lights all around. All a little grubby and tired-looking, but a perfect pub-style space for such an event. Excellent value for money, too. Unfortunately this amazing space was let down by function management prior, and staffing on the night. Despite several emails, phone calls and visits in the lead-up to the event, and flippant or vague reassurance from managers, I felt uneasy about some aspects. Rightly so, as the slideshow ended up displaying half the photos sideways or upside-down, on all the TVs throughout the night. A couple of hours before the party, we arrived for yet another photo test and found the dance floor so sticky it almost took our shoes! This was partially rectified, but it does need attention. The security guard, although provided with a guest list, seemed unaware that this was a private function, and we discovered a couple of randoms at the bar! There was only one staff member in the whole function area for 90% of the night, running the bar by herself - guests were waiting 15 mins to order a drink, but she did a great job. It was almost impossible to find staff to clean up a couple of spills, and the cake wasn't brought out at the scheduled time - I eventually found someone half an hour later who showed me where the cake was, and I carried it out myself (no candles, no knife, no lighter). Overall, my son and his guests had a fantastic time and the venue really suits a large gathering of young people, for a budget price. I know the staff did try their best, and they were very obliging, but it seems there were staffing issues, technical problems and a lack of planning procedures to manage the details of a function - perhaps out of practice after Covid closure. Regardless of the hiccups, I would still recommend this venue.

Dooley’s Bar offend with its service. My friend paid 4 whole dollars to play ‘Big Buck Hunter Pro’ and the bloke did not refund us for our troubles, when the game did not work. I expect more. Please explain @Dooley’s Irish Bar. I had to leave, as I couldn’t comprehend the fact I was not being compensated. Any gamer should stay with Runescape at home, don’t make the effort to come here

Got 1 meal then 20min later my partner finished his meal. I had to go and find out where my meal was. Was told that we got someone else's meal .
Then they brought out 2 more meals that weren't even ours.
I brought this to there attention.

Although a little hidden away behind BWS and the outside looking a little dated - walk right inside and be greeted by amazing hospitality and service. I was immediately seated at a table, the menu explained and before no time I was eating. My food was perfectly cooked and super fresh. Changing my chips to mash potatoes was not ecen a problem. Highly recommended.

absolutely disgusted the way the female staff member spoke to my 3yo daughter for playing on a chair in the kids playing room... she left in tears. might have a playroom here but not suitable for families at all the way they're treated by staff here
would give you less than a star if I could.

1st time I've been here, took the family out and wow. Food was good..we ordered porterhouse steak, lamb shanks, pork ribs& oysters. I've been to so many pubs and I can finally say this was a winner. My kids were satisfied! Staff were nice and friendly, great atmosphere. 👍
