You live in a beautiful atmosphere in this restaurant, as if you were in another place. The food is excellent and the service superb. I recommend visiting this restaurant

Wowza!!!! what an unreal setting/theme in the bistro area. We did a simple google search for pubs with playgounds and the moreland hotel was a must. The playground is inside and massive. Kids had a blast and played non stop. The food was fantastic. We took advantage of the Monday special $20 burgers all day. Beers are normal prices around $8 a schooner. In cbd expect to pay over $12/$13
Kids meals were massive and well priced for $12 each

We ordered the porterhouse and scotch fillet. Unfortunately both steaks were not great, both were way overcooked, tasteless and the scotch fillet was inedible, the meat had a pungent off smell/taste to it and we returned it. The staff was very understanding and accomodating, we just got a refund for it. Perhaps it’s only a Parma type of pub but definitely would not go again.

Went to the Moreland today. Had 2X Furphy schooners with my Mate Indy. Fantastic time. The guy who poured our beers was no less than absolutely sensational. We sat underneath the statue of David; and that was very darling despite his feet being super big.
Moreland, you will be a stranger no longer- me thinks I've found me local!

We had a family gathering for my daughters 18th birthday.
Everything went perfectly, great service and food.
Function manager Nicole and the staff did a wonderful job of managing every detail. We have had many family functions at the Moreland and anticipate many more in the future.

Visited the above for lunch with friends, the atmosphere is calm and quiet, very pleasant. Service was great and very pleasant and helpful. Very comfortable. Definitely will be going again.

This place is terrible run.
It took 50 mins for a pizza
Several meals were cold
The roast of the day was $30 dollars and you got a meal the size a 4 year old wouldn’t be full on
The steak sandwich was cooked beyond being edible they even forgot to put the bacon and egg in the sandwich !! Instead of fixing the issue they just gave a plate with is on the side.
The portion size of the meal is ridiculous and to make the meal look big they pile on the chips
Would not suggest this place. It did not slap at all

The staff were very friendly, they were attentive and provided quick service. Food was delicious plus there was a good variety of drink options. I would recommend the grilled Barramundi, it was cooked perfectly served with roasted vegetables and a choice of either mashed potatoes or chips. The portion size was generous and and all in all the meal fairly priced. Good value for money. Would happily go back here.

The Moreland Hotel is a great venue for a pub meal. Nice food, atmosphere and quick service. Nicole served us tonight and she has fantastic customer service. Will be back!

Thank you to Nicole and all the staff for a amazing night and been so attentive for mu daughters 1st first birthday. Everyone had a amazing night. Food was great, but the customer service from all the staff 100%. Thank you again, we will all be back again.

Sunday lunch was perfect service with a smile a familiar faces. Havnt been here in a year but will certainly b bak very soon.
More local places need to b supported and this 1 will b with pleasure 😊

Quirky decor and interior playground. Place is big but there were not many patrons at the time so the atmosphere was lacking and it felt empty. Playground was a bit dated but entertained the kids quite well. Service was good but the food was a bit bland

Ordered Fish and Chips, Fisherman's Basket and Chicken Nuggets Kid's meal. Everything all looked and tasted like it was purchased from the frozen section of a supermarket and cooked as instructed on the packets. Terrible meal. The salad and the staff were nice.

Omg this place is one of the worst pubs we have dined in.
We only came due to the reviews, how did these people rate this place so high? Astonishing!!!
When we got here, there were many tables available but we had to wait for the server to clean a table!!
We had reservations and arrived on time.
The vibe in here is a try hard vibe, the lighting is unbelievably bright and makes you feel like you're under interrogation. The kids area is the opposite, not inviting for the kids at all.
Food, was brought out at different times, we waited for the adults meals for 10 mins after the kids meals were served. The steak was dry, the gravy tasted like baby food.
The chips were fantastic!
We wanted to order more, literally zero staff anywhere!
Service???
This place sucks all round. Needs to be renovated and new staff and menu! Maybe a Greek menu, considering the decor?!😂
Go elsewhere for a nice family evening.!

My partner had a birthday family dinner here recently. A table booking was 5:30 pm. We all ordered our food via the QR code on the table, we all ordered out food within 10mins. The order the food came out was so random. People who ordered after others got their meals first. People got a side dish but a good 25mins before their main meal which the side was meant to come with. It took a good 45mins for most to get their food but we couldn't eat together because it came out so randomly. After several meals incorrectly coming to our table, I finally got my food 55 minutes after ordering... 55 minutes. I was the last one left to eat and had to scoff my food as it was getting late and we wanted to have cake so people with children could go home. My schnitzel wasn't even good, thin and in a batter, basically a large chicken nugget.
I don't understand how it was so messy, the place wasn't even busy when we put our orders in, how did it take so long. After some complaints they did give the kids free dessert but they knew we had cake. Would have preferred a discount on the food or soemthing. Was my first time visiting and will be the last.

Love this place!! I had a masquerade themed birthday party at the Moreland Hotel. So much fun! Nicole and her team did an amazing job of accommodating to our needs and decorating the space to make it a night to be remembered!! Would definitely recommend for events and I’ll be going back for steak night and a slap at the pokies ❤️❤️❤️

Just love the repro Romanesque decor in this hotel; like some crazy wonderful Las Vegas venue! Statue of David in a classic columned pavillion, part of the Colosseum and a magnificently painted domed ceiling of a cloudy blue sky. Anyone who sketches for fun - get in here NOW before the venue refurbs it (as planned). Don't know why this hasn't become a regular live music venue. Food is inexpensive comparative to other pubs and offers standard pub fare. Had a vegan parma and Southern chicken burger - simple but good - hot and tasty. Service (at bar and at table) was excellent: friendly and quick. Suggestion to the owners: please, please, PLEASE could you consider making a short film about the interior of this pub BEFORE you pull it down? I'm sure Brunswick is full of creatives who would be happy to help. We need a record of this glorious interior for posterity and for local history! I will be sad to see it go. And to readers of this review - if you haven't visited the Moreland hotel before, do visit. If you have, come again to say goodbye to David. 😔

I recently purchased a meal from this establishment
Grilled chicken with mash potatoes and vegetables
I have been unwell n off food a while now due to surgery
I’m a chef myself n no way could l have faulted that meal

I only came here as I have an ALH venues discount. I’d NEVER pay full price for meals here as the quality is terrible
If I paid $28 for a Parma this bad I’d cry honestly.
I recommend not bothering with the desserts, we waited 45 minutes for 2 sticky date puddings and we had to beg for them to come out?
Poor quality, not the euro summer experience I expected but it is what it is

I have loved this place since I was a young kid.
Nicole especially in recent times has been amazingly helpful and accomodating on functions and dining, providing service above and beyond any expectations.
6/5 stars - the Moreland has been an institution of dining in the northern suburbs of Melbourne for decades and should continue for decades longer into the future. ALH bosses please take note.

I actually like the bizarre, kitch decor. The service was fine. The wait for the food... Not so much. Place almost deserted and I ordered one of the main dishes of the night. Pasta a little undercooked, sauce lovely, parmesan stingy.

From the outside it looks pretty run down but inside it’s beautiful. Sculpture of David in his full “attire” 😬
It’s a big place and I like the idea of kids area of different ages. Food is nothing to shout about. It’s the usual pub grub. You can’t go wrong with the usuals. Waiters are friendly and attentive. 7/10.

Coming from the country, it's hard to find a place that serves good food and drinks while keeping our kids entertained. The Moreland Hotel has it all. Our initial encounter with the hostess with the mostess, Nicole, was amazing. The service she provided was second to none, and her recommendations were perfect, from cocktails to dessert. Our dinner was served quickly and was absolutely delicious. The playground was a big plus for our two boys, keeping them entertained throughout the meal. We will definitely be back!
