Wow, what a little gem of a place. Driving past, you would think, ahh nice looking little pub. Walk through to the back..OMG, what a backdrop to have a meal and a drink. Helpful team, some great live music.

What an excellent run, turned up to a huge smoker in the car park offering smoked brisket or ribs. Good music, cold beer, great staff and atmosphere. This is my new Sunday run!!!

What a little hidden Gem. We stumbled across the hotel on our way to Port Douglas and we’re so glad we did! We ordered the T Bone and Sirloin. Both were cooked to perfection. We sat on the deck overlooking the river… what a magical place. The staff we very friendly. We will be back

We arrived at 4:30 pm for a live music session slated to begin at 6:30 pm. While seated, the waitress placed reserved signs on about four nearby tables, but many remained unreserved, including ours. We ordered food and drinks, continuing until 7:30 pm, when a staff member, Pete, approached us aggressively, insisting we vacate our supposedly reserved table. Despite our explanation that there was no reserved sign when we arrived or placed on our table, Pete dismissed us, suggesting the sign had blown away, despite our witnessing them being placed and not on our table. He adamantly refused to listen, ultimately telling us to leave. Meanwhile, neighboring tables were reserved yet occupied by others, likely due to rain-induced cancellations. We are all individuals working in management in customer service, we were appalled by the disrespect and mishandling of the situation. Despite our anticipation for the new management and music events, this experience has left us unwilling to return. Pete's behavior is unfitting for someone in customer service. Maybe if someone with a shred of customer service savvy had come over, acknowledged their mistake, and politely asked us to relocate to an available table indoors, we would have happily obliged. But no, instead of handling it with a hint of decency, Pete came storming over, all aggressive, demanding we move, and had the audacity to pin the blame on us for their screw-up. Absolutely appalling.

This pub would have to have the best outdoor beer garden with the most amazing setting in Australia. Sitting on their deck, looking at the Little Mulgrave river flowing underneath, surrounded by beautiful green tropical rainforest, is very special. The pub itself is great too and Maddy behind the bar was so nice and helpful. She showed us around and even took us out the back to show us their amazing deck. They are very proud of it and rightly so. Really nice pool table and only $1 a game and a juke box to choose your music for $1 for a couple of songs. Happy hour is from 5pm to 6pm and the Bulmers Cider on tap goes down from $6 a schooner to only $5 for the hour. They also put some credit on the jukebox so you can choose some songs for free and get the happy hour rocking. The jag the joker was up to $1,800 the Friday night we were there. You get a ticket for every drink purchased and the lucky ticket drawn lets you turn over one of the cards on the board and if it is the joker, you take home the money. They draw the lucky ticket at 8pm. They have live music most Sunday afternoon and you can enjoy a nice meal as well. There are a few different camping options if you want to stay near the hotel. There is camping to the left of the hotel for $20 a night but if you prefer free camping, there is a couple of options as well. To the right of the hotel before, the bridge there is some free campsites. Then over the bridge and turn left and there are more campsites on the other side of the Little Mulgrave river. We chose to go down Roos Rd opposite the hotel and about 900m to the Mulgrave river and lots of free campsites there too. The 900m stroll up to the pub is beautiful and we were surprised to see all the hundreds of Cane Toad tadpoles in the water. Each female Cane Toad can lay 3000 eggs and we could see the result. The Mountain View hotel near Gordonvale, North Queensland is a very popular pub for people to visit on weekends and you can see a lot of nice motorbikes and cars there as people stop off on their weekend ride or cruise, for a refreshing ale. The campsite we chose is absolute paradise and cooling off in the Beautiful Crystal clear water was so good. So if you are in the Atherton Tablelands in North Queensland, don't miss this beautiful hotel. It is a visit you will remember.

Ripping spot we found by accident. Great example of a country pub Good beer selection ✅ Ice cold beers ❄️✅ Good food ✅ Great staff and service ✅ Live music ✅ The kicker though was the awesome flowing creek right behind you can swim. And float down Will. B back!

On holiday from the UK we came across this authentic pub with great atmosphere that served the best steaks I've enjoyed for a long time and all at a very reasonable price.

Management was incredibly rude, aggressive, and unreasonable. After ordering food and drinks, enjoying the views and live music for a couple of hours. They had failed to reserve the table we occupied for a group arriving later in the night. Management approached our table with hostility, informed us the table was reserved and advised us to “move or get out”. When we tried to explain that tables around us were reserved but not this one (we had been sat there before the staff member came outside to reserve tables), he Insisted we were liars. It could have easily been resolved with a gentle approach, an apology for the mixup, and offered us a table inside, there was no need to treat us so poorly. Customer service 0/10. Would recommend going somewhere that treats their customers with basic respect to spend your money in future.

Management so rude and aggressive for no reason! Server made a mistake and in response we were kicked out with so much unnecessary hostility by management. Would highly NOT recommend! Food was good though

I was told to stop in a great lil pub on the way to the tablelands.... well not too glad I did.... the food was horrible sorry guys I know its under new ownership but won't last long travelling in this direction. Wings are the easiest food to cook yet were drier than aged beef jerky. chips old and dry.

I think it's the best pub in Australia. Old school with great live music on the weekends and good food 7 days a week with the kitchen open for lunch and dinner. Country style pub with friendly staff and excellent service

Food here has been a constant disappointment the last 3-4 times we've been. As locals, we love to support local however when they cannot even get chips, wedges and a kids meal right its pretty disappointing. And we only ordered this as a snack as we weren't prepared to spend our hard earned dollars AGAIN for terrible food. We paid $15 for a kids cheeseburger and chips - doesn't include a drink and ice cream like most other pubs and my son got a slider that was literally 2 bites. He has had this there more than once and it was never one slider! Chips and wedges were tasteless and had a tang of old oil. Unfortunately we cannot justify going back to give our local another shot as they just don't seem bothered with the food quality they are offering!

Excellent venue (especially if you sit outside overlooking the creek below) Bar Staff: excellent Food: very sub par. Our steak was very budget, full of gristle, the mushroom sauce was flavourless and overly creamy, the chips were undercooked and yellow like you get at cheap fish and chip shops, the salad was drowned in dressing, some of the spinach leaves were not suitable for consumption (brown, slimy, and see-through). Drinks were pretty reasonably priced, which was great. Overall a great place but really really let down by the food.

Can't fault the place. Friendly staff - new owners. AFFORDABLE drinks! Excellent food, I got the salad and could have fed a small army with it. My partner got the steak, which he said was a really nice cut, cooked well. And the "kids" fish and chips was HUGE, but the whole thing got eaten! New furniture, kids play area. Music playing, people laughing, very clean, just a really relaxing place to be.
