About National Hotel
Informal motel with relaxed accommodations offering a restaurant, an outdoor pool & a hot tub. Set 1.1 km from the Golden Dragon Museum, this laid-back motel is also 2 km from Bendigo Railway Station and 2.6 km from Bendigo Stadium. Featuring free Wi-Fi, the straightforward rooms have flat-screen TVs, minifridges, tea and coffeemaking facilities and room service. Some have whirlpool baths. We were looking for a nice Bistro to celebrate Valentine's Day and I must say that the food was superb, we couldn't fault it in any way... Steak was cooked to perfection and the best chips that we've ever eaten anywhere. We'll certainly be back here again.

We stayed overnight. The room was a little dated but clean with a balcony looking out over the pool. We used the pool and hot tub which were both nice. The room was air-conditioned and comfortable overnight in the heat. Walking distance to the town centre and the staff member we spoke with at check in and out was lovely.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment. It was beautiful, clean, modern and just lovely. Would highly recommend. Kids loved the pool, great location and easy access to everything.
Bonus of double lock up garage and 3 bath.
Only request would be for pool towels to be placed in apartment so we aren't using them for shower also, but we loved our stay.

Went to the restaurant side and it was really good. Super friendly staff and the cocktails were tasty!
We had a big group and the food all came out together and fast as well.
The Gnocchi was nice and got to try the boyfriends Carbonara Pasta, very filling and tasty for both.
The Pork Belly got raved about by friends too.

Went there for dinner and it was wonderful. Good prices, good atmosphere and great customer services and food.

We dined at the restaurant. Food was beautiful and reasonably priced. Very clean and staff were extremely friendly.

Very easy place to relax in. Great customer service. Good to be able to enjoy wide variety of beers on tap. Great food selection & well priced

The food was amazing!!! The service was brilliant and FAST!! The staff were sooooooooooooooo friendly!!!!! Definitely recommend!!

stayed a few nights, rooms had clearly not been cleaned well as items were located under the bed from previous occupants. Came back to the hotel after a day out to find the room hadn’t been cleaned, when we enquired we were told they don’t clean the rooms unless asked and refered to a sign behind the TV which used COVID as part of the excuse for poor service. they still charged motel rates though. no stars on service and cleanliness from me

Spent a night here this week. Blown away by the service. A special call out to Darcy a very nice young man who is prepared to go the extra mile for his customers. The room was facing the pool and was that clean you could eat off the floor. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. My husband is a retired chef and actually commented it was the best meal out he had eaten in a very long time. We will most definitely be back.

Room was excellent. Wifi was fast and reliable. The beds were comfy with a nice mixture of hard and soft pillows. Manager was fantastic. Left the key in a safe place so I could check in later (after the lobby closed) and texted me the details.

Perfect location, spa so nice and behind our room is the swimming pool. The place is really clean.

Not a bad place to stay in Bendigo. Rooms are comfortable. Has a pool,. It's more than a walk into town but the attached bar and restaurant are not bad. The food in the bar is quite good. The lamb rack was on the special board and was delicious.

me and my daughter were having lunch here we ordered some food and the chicken schnitzel (normal menu) crumbing was raw and very uneven as the top and edges were crispy, me and my daughter were casually chatting and picking off each other’s plates when my daughter notice a big black hair in my risotto (lunch special) we were gob smacked to say the least, it was so disturbing we couldn’t finish our meals, we told a nice young lady who was waitressing and she returned my meal, she was very lovely about it but i was expecting some money back or a voucher or anything really, once she returned my plate i was expecting her to clear my daughters plate and clean the table but she did not return, we left a little unhappy

I've been twice now to the party room in the last few weeks & on both occasions the food, the service & the venue have been second to none. You all deserve the 5 stars for your efforts in providing a perfect experience, (Twice). đź‘Ť

It was nice. Parking is a little all over the place.
The food was good from the bistro, but they dropped it off at our room, and then the bloke dropping it off had no idea what we do with the tray after we were done. We put it outside like you would anywhere else, and it was still there in the morning. Tried to call them from the room prior to even ordering, and it just rang out.
Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. Bring your own pillow

Heat, storms, rain and no power...time to find a pub with air-conditioning, decent food and power. We had this pub on our agenda but had not found the time. Nabbed a table with no reservation...bonus. The menu had lots of interesting choices and we were both happy with our meals. Sometimes, it's the little things that make the difference for us. Being made to feel welcome and a table being cleared for before we sat down. Choosing a wine by the glass but not sure if it was right for me and being offered a taste. On choosing the wine having a fresh glass poured. We'll be back for the food and the service.

Had dinner at the National Hotel tonight and had the best meal I’ve ever had! Lamb cutlets were incredible. Parking was a little bit hard because of how busy it was. Even though it was busy food came out quickly. Great service by very friendly staff.

Great rooms, very clean and tidy. Convenient location to Bendigo central. Owners are very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay with clean and comfortable rooms.|On our arrival were warmly welcomed by Michael.|As we a group of oldies (all 80+) meeting in Bendigo for a reunion, he went out of his way to have one of staff Darcy find a quiet place in the the hotel's Bistro & Function centre for our Reunion Lunch. The menu is extensive and reasonable priced with all commenting positively on the presentation , tastiness and quality of their chosen dishes. By consensus we chose to have two evening meals as well as our Reunion Lunch. Congratulations to the young team of serving staff for your professional attention which was given along with plenty of smiles.|Make this hotel your first choice if booking accommodation in Bendigo.

Great hotel, friendly atmosphere, great staff and walking distance from our hotel, The Cathedral Hotel. We only went there for dinner a couple of times but the food was amazing, the best satay skewers I’ve ever tasted. Gonna miss this place when I go. Highly recommended. 👍

Bistro Excellent.
Kitchen staff were anazing producing great food. There were a large number of orders that were produced efficiently . Good quality food. The wait staff were also amazing. The lead waitress was so efficient in coordinating the dishes to table.
Well done to all staff on a very busy night

A power outage meant we couldn't eat at our local pub, so we tried The National for the first time, and based on te quality of our two meals, it won't be our last visit both were very good.

Although we didn’t have a booking the obliging staff fitted our group of 8 in for a meal. Very extensive reasonably priced menu. Although the Hotel was extremely busy the 4 barmen kept up and with a well organised kitchen we got all our meals promptly.
