Went there for the apprentice night, $35 for four courses which is definitely good value. Food was reasonably tasty and definitely better than some other pubs around the area. Was a busy and popular night so the first foods did take a while as expected.

Went for Naughty Numbers Bingo with Laydee Kinmee, and had a ball. Great pub, great atmosphere, great food.

Went for lunch, ordered home made rissoles, mashed potato and seasonal veg with gravy. Rissoles had more carrot and large chunks of onion than meat, seasonal veg turned out to be a cup of frozen peas. Also ordered a schnitzel with veg and chips, both schnitzel and chips were over cooked. It's a shame as the cheese and bacon garlic bread was great.

We are at Neath hotel for lunch. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, MASSIVE meals and AMAZING nachos. I couldn’t even eat half, the kids got nuggets and chips which were great and the garlic bread was a generous size as well. We’ll definitely be back!! The kids played in the playground which was easy to see from our table. Andrew G was playing and he was a great listen.

Was disappointing, visited with a group of friends, the prices on the day didnt match what they advertised on their website or social media pages whatsoever, but we were still prepared to bear with it.. but in the end we left without eating or drinking due to the service, no-one we encountered were able to get our simple order correct enough to even take to the kitchen. We won't be back.

This hotel is the most woful pub i have ever been to, this place needs a good cleanup from patrons to owners, never have i ever been to such place where your kids feel unconfortable because of the patrons, i ordered the 1kg steak and wings and the food was a disgrace, gravy had no flavour and the wings had some sort of glaze on it wich was absolutely appauling, the service from staff is discusting aswell, i believe this hotel has some real good potential but from my experience i would not recromend it to anyone. My partner was uncomfortable due to the patrons judging people for what they wear, if thats the type of people you allow in your pub/hotel then there is some serious concerns management need to address, sadly i will not be returning to this hotel, the food was that terrible our dogs would not even eat our leftovers. Management allowing kids to take money out of the till, this place is a sinking ship trying to keep afloat.

This has to be the best customer service I have ever received! Hayley behind the bar was absolutely amazing & the food was delicious! Mines favourite pub in the Hunter!

The bar staff are polite and greet you with a smile. The bistro is relatively quick with good food and good portions for the prices. There are occasional events, I was there for a bingo night, and I had a blast! Unfortunately, I didn't stay the night, so I can't report on the rooms, but given the overall presentation and vibe of the whole place, I expect it would be a nice place to stay.

Taco night was disappointing. The wait took forever. Presentation was poor- mince floating in fatty water in a chinese container, and flavourless chicken - pork was advertised but no where to be seen. It was served on a board with odd amounts of soft tacos, lettuce, sliced tomatoes & grated cheese. No guacamole or salsa but we got a tiny amount of sour cream. Also not enough for our group so most of our group had one taco only & had to wait almost 40 minutes for another one.

Such a great family friendly place and food was fantastic, was very well priced and the specials were a good size for the price. Will definitely come again and again. Keep up the good work.

Stopped in for lunch. $10 T-bone special, salad and chips. Quite busy at the time. I can not fault the meal. Steak melted in your mouth. Only suggestion is to get a staff member for drinks service as she had to do menu order too.

Stopped in for a beer on my way home from work this afternoon. Waited at the bar for 10 minutes, no staff to be seen. I eventually decided to ring the bell and was met by a disgruntled girl behind the bar, as if i was bothering her by being there. Her customer service was poor and her beer pouring skills even poorer. I sat outside and noticed her sitting down with locals on her phone for half an hour. might be a relaxed pub but really?

Very Enjoyable Cold Clean Fresh Tasting Beer’s. Convenient for me passing through area. I would / will definitely stay here again & recommend anyone staying here. Service was quite poor, food took a long time to come out and others who arrived after us were served before us. When food arrived steak was very undercooked - asked for medium but got basically blue. Had mash and veg as well and mash was barely passable with basically half a potato buried in it, and it was dry and flavourless, veg was limp and cold. Staff were informed and said they'd issue a refund, but this has not occurred. Only saving grace of the meal was the schnitzel was adequate at best and filling. Other than that, would not recommend, unless you enjoy mediocre food and service.

Possibly the best steak I've ever had! Friendly, cheerful, helpful staff. All good prices. Try the "beat the meat" challenge. I'm definitely going back.

No recommendation for the food unfortunately. Thai beef salad was pretty much just a bowl full of spinach leaves with a bit of tomato and cucumber, a sprinkle of peanuts and bits of rump steak that were like chewing on leather. Mother's lambs fry was 'okay' but vegetables were raw. Very disappointing after waiting for over an hour for our food.

My husband, granddaughter and I went to the Neath Hotel for dinner. Never again. My granddaughter said her hamburger was tasteless and the few chips she got were warm. At $22 it was over priced. My husband had the homemade rissoles. He said that they weren’t too bad. $20 for 2 rissoles and vegetables. I had the salt and pepper squid which was supposed to be served with seasoned chips and a dressed garden salad. Entree size was $16.50, I opted to upsize it to the main size for an extra $10.00. $26.50 in total. All I got was approximately 10 pieces of squid with a few chips and some what I think was tartare sauce. Not only was I ripped off but it tasted disgusting. The food was only just warm and there was no salt and pepper in the batter on the squid. When I enquired as to whether I had been served the entree or main size, I was told it was the main. I was flabbergasted. He offered me more chips but I didn’t take the offer up. While the staff were friendly enough the young girl behind the bar kept disappearing and you had to wait for her to reappear. When she was behind the bar she was constantly on her phone. Not good enough. We definitely will not go back or recommend this place to anyone.

Mmm, don't know what the meals are like!! Didn't feel like too much. No starters, entrees or snacks. So disappointing you can't even get a bowl of chips when the kitchen is open.except out of the vending machine. Beer choice is just as limited. Definitely won't go out of my way to return when there's other pubs in the area doing better.

Just had the worst meal at Neath Hotel, ordered 2 meals & a bread to start, 1 meal came out 1st, steak ordered Medium rare, came medium well, had to ask for bread, 2nd meal came out 10 minutes later, non existent service, tables left with dirty plates and leftover food, save your money or go elsewhere

|I think "Christie" the owner got the word "hospitality" confused with "hostile" when she took over management of the Neath Hotel from her parents...because that was exactly how my friends, husband and I were treated. Christie was rude, aggressive, argumentative and non complying. My friend simply and politely questioned why she did not get the room they paid for ....one with a balcony...a simple enough request right .....the barrage of abuse we received from Christie ...extended to her being personal...unhelpful and hostile (theres that word again!) there is really to much to go into. However Christie suggested we go somewhere else if you can get in ...with a smirk on her face because everything is "booked out" ...really ..that was only one of the many many inappropriate comments Christie made.|I like to operate with constructive criticism...Christie when faced with a client who has the right to question what she paid for do not argue , berate (all of us) simply "zip it" smile, take a breath..|pleasently offer a free glass of wine or anything else that will show a professional and empathic personality to ensure a positive outcome for all..|regardless of whether you like the question presented or not ...and you will obtain a very different outcome to the one you are receiving now. My husband and I have stayed at the Neath before when your experienced and welcoming parents managed it....however it will never happen again. Since then the rooms have detoriated. Noisy due to being on Cessnock Road even though we requested a room on the other side. Which again when we politely questioned it was suggested we leave at 6pm on a saturday night! The food rank...the "hospitality " extremely bad. ..|For your future reference Christie "one" of the meanings of hospitality! I suggest you look up the rest. Maybe then you will understand the difference from being hostile to being hospitable....it's really not that hard.|"Hospitality refers to a set of behaviors that are designed to make a guest or visitor feel comfortable and welcome in an environment" .

Incredible value (so much cheaper than almost every other accommodation) - it's no luxury resort but perfect for a short stay if you just need somewhere to sleep. Speaking of, the beds are very comfortable and exceptionally clean despite the building itself being a bit old. There's also a bus stop right outside the door taking you to Cessnock.

Had their T-Bone special, meat was good however the sauces were a bit flavourless. The surf and turf meat was a bit off near the fats, prawns were like little cocktails (the pics had what appeared to be big king prawns). Prices were reasonable and portions were good so it's not terrible.

An ordinary pub to spend a Sunday afternoon. Not able to pay cash for bar purchases (due to no cash on hand to provide change). The bistro was only 1/3 full however staff declined our request for lunch orders saying without a booking they won’t take orders due to a shortage of food. After explaining that we were flexible in our orders they still declined our business. On the upside found another pub a short drive away that had great meals and friendly staff.
