We used to dine here often, and it was always fantastic. We came tonight, and noticed it was pretty quiet up in the bistro - where it used to be flat out... Unfortunately the food was nowhere near as good as it used to be. I ordered a Schnitzel - the RSL/pub staple - it was tough as and the crumb was so powdery, and looked like it had been pan fried with hardly any oil, was not crispy at all. It was inedible so I took it back (which I never do) and got the Seafood Chowder instead - which was quite nice. My wife had a Fillet steak - which was overcooked and dry, the chips were pretty much just crunchy bits and oil and the veggies were dry and bland. We were very disappointed, as we have always enjoyed eating here.

Went to Nerang RSL for lunch after a morning of Golf. Service there was excellent and everyone was lovely. The food there was great especially for its price. One kg of chicken wings for $11, couldn't go past it. Lots of TV's with sport on to pass the time. Will be back!

Went out as a family to celebrate our parents 60th wedding anniversary. Spent a lot and received the WORST rude service EVER! The attached photo of the 1kg rump special clearly states that the steak is served “with 2 choices of sauce” and upon ordering two different sauces we were told we could only have ONE sauce (it was supposedly double amount). When waiter called manager over to resolve the issue she said the photo showed 1 sauce. The photo also showed an overflowing basket of chips but we had a lot less than that! False advertising Nerang RSL! The steak was supposed to be cooked to medium level and it was so rare, the second steak was so overcooked it was difficult to swallow. A simple bowl of sauce could’ve easily made your customers feel valued - but your stubborn and rude staff obviously don’t understand the meaning of customer service! Up your game Nerang RSL - I certainly won’t be returning here!

Went for evening meal on a Tuesday. Menu was nice. I ordered roast of the day which was pork. The meat was cut too thick for my liking. It takes away from the tenderness. Very generous amounts of roast veges. Sadly the meal was served only luke warm.
I'll try again, perhaps the maitre-d wasn't functioning . Other than that the venue is lovely. Open, fresh and clean. Really enjoyed dining on the Verandah with he gas fire lamps.
Update
I have been here 3 more times. Each time ordering the roast. The staff are excellent. The helpings extremely generous. The food is served a little less hot than I like. However, I recommend the dining here and the roast especially for the exceptional quality and generosity of the meal. 🙂

Well run local RSL club which has been made significantly more upmarket by the renovations a few years ago. Several different dining options, sports bar, pokie room and live entertainment every week. The member discounts on the food are great value too.

We had dinner on Saturday night and the food was absolutely amazing great service friendly atmosphere we were encouraged to join up $5 for 5 years with immediate discounts which is fantastic we will be back and we will definitely recommend Nerang RSL to all our family and friends - great job to all the staff cheers
My mother and I had lunch here today Tuesday 5th march and the seafood chowder is the best - it was served in a crunchy cob loaf that was absolutely delicious- we complimented the chef and folks do yourselves a favour head down to Nerang RSL and have A Seafood Chowder

We had a good late lunch experience on a Saturday at the upstairs bistro. The barramundi and prawn grill with veggies was tasty. Servings were generous and the balcony was spacious with a good green view. Food and drink prices were high as we were visitors but non-members.

Very dissatisfied now. we were there for going away dinner 29th Feb awesome big parmy big princess parmy tonight was a waste of money but son wanted big burger for his 15th bday burger good but everything else sadly lacking.

Will not be returning ever again.

The food was good solid fare. Quite fresh. Well made. Larger menu range than rsls used to have. Nice long bar. Large open room. Friendly competant staff. Balcony area. Interesting weapon and military display downstairs, including history on Australias Victoria Cross awardees, with recent ones. Will put photos if can. Way too many pokies though. Shame they have those evil machines at all, but they are downstairs further in so you can walk straight past them and go upstairs to eat and drink.

Staff are lovely and friendly. Food was good , all tho my mom's fish was a little dry. Cocktails are good , but restaurant bar needs more staff on their so you don't wait so long when it gets busy

Outstanding staff
Great food, big portions, table of six all had different menu item's, not one bad meal
If you can fit desert in again big deserts, $1 for a pot of bushels tea outstanding
Top it off the pricing is more than reasonable
Now this a club that looks after it's members

One of the BEST places to get a bite or to spend some time to chill on the Gold Coast hinterland. $5 for 5yrs membership is a must, even for short term visitors. Lunch specials range from $10-$11.50 served with decent portions (See attached photos). There's your usual but modest gambling spots at this RSL You can't get much better values than here at the Nerang RSL.

Nice tasty food, great variety of pub classics plus a few fancy items. I had a delicious cocktail and my husband is still raving how fantastic the grilled barra and prawns was.
The balcony area is beautiful. Nice and quiet, we like to go out when places are not crowed, hence Tuesday nights.

My party was rudely denied entrance on Easter upon arrival due to one of our members not having their physical id with them. We have been there for dinner 100s of times and have never once been forced to present id simply to eat dinner. Really disappointed with the direction this club is headed and would recommend a change in reception staff.

Loved the food

Unfortunately we did get bitten by mosquito outside but we braved up and handled them

If hiring(?) a room, check it's not the one with an exterior half wall missing, that trucks park beside pushing noise and fumes into the room. And, without doors, to shut out vocal locals.
I wouldn't order a water & powdered hot chocolate mix, with only a dash of almond milk, finding lumps at the bottom; and paying well-over $10 for a medium (paper cup).
The front door staff member was very
pleasant, and most helpful, to a PwD.

I always have a bad experience when I come here, in my most recent experience I went to the bar apon arrival and ordered a mojito and the bartender (who was a kid) said he would bring it to my table. It waited for 45 minutes before it arrived and by then I had already eaten my meal. It was the saddest mojito I had ever seen and was so bad it was un-drinkable. This drink and experience left a sour taste in mouth.

Hello Folks, staff a great, however, order for 2 only people arrived 15 minutes apart-not good. The "roast" meal was positively the worst roast I've ever been served. Also way over priced. Needs to be improved by about 100%. Hope you can do this as the venue is a pleasant place to visit and other meals offered are excellent.

Good dining at great prices, especially for seniors like myself.
I recommend this place for food and entertainment, not to mention wonderful prizes every Sunday for members.

Fantastic venue. Friendly staff. Excellent, reasonably priced food. Modern, clean dining areas. Lovely balcony dining area. Loved dining there today and will definitely be back regularly.

Excellent for families. Great for a good quality, good portion, no-fuss meal out.
Just be sure to wear shoes if you arrive after 6pm, no thongs.
You need to be a member to dine here. The $5 sign up fee saves you a lot on food and drink, so it's totally worth it anyway.
Order at counter or use QR code at table. Plenty of meal options to choose from, making it an ideal choice for groups. The ribs and beer battered chips are excellent! Meat falls off the bone. Small portion was more than I could finish. Really good portions!
If in the area, I'd go again.

S27°59.621' E153°20.153' Nerang and surrounding villages do not have good eateries and RSL Nerang does not fills that space successfully, with a two-year old modern multi-storey building with for bars, slot-machines and a large restaurant on the second floor.
In September 2018, we had to go to RSL Nerang twice and ordered Gallipoli Beef Burger (AU$18.90), Teriyaki Chicken (AU$18.90), Caesar Salad (AU$15.90) and Lamp Rack.
This heavy food received the American treatment adding many calories and subtracting lots of flavour. Too much nutrition. Services was superficially friendly and adequate.

Besides a great night with family and friends the customer service was ok bar staff and security as well..however the food took far too long..yes it was busy..was no ticket numbers and the staff getting confused with orders..i eventually had enough up to 1 hour later went to the kitchen..the steak was over cooked and mushroom sauce just thrown on top..no presentation at all..many other people were not happy with the food as well..my first and last time here.

Beautiful RSL tribute garden and displays. Great staff and good food, Superb looking venue with some serious health and safety issues..
You need to sort out your smoking area.
The whole upstairs dining area is cigarette 🚬 smell obviously as the door to smoking area is open and shut often and os right beside the AC intake.
Health fail
- Also your money grabbing poker machines are audible and visible to children from public areas - another fail
- Dangerous gap on balcony for chair legs or kids feet to fall through

Always a great meal until last week. Purchased Eye Fillet steak (medium rare) chips and salad. Steak looked and tasted like it was pumped up with something. More like an old boot than Eye Fillet. Chips were so overcooked they were just crunchy couldn't taste the potato. Salad was nice. So disappointed!!

2 weeks in a row , the kitchen didnt cook meals for our table while dinning. My wife is a member and introduced me to this rsl on her birthday, only for her meal to arive and no one else's. Pathetic excuses from the kitchen. Will never waste my money on this place again.
