Yummo! We ending up going for an early Sunday dinner and it was exactly what the doctor order... great food, chilled vibe and friendly people! The menu is a knock out I took forever to decide what to eat as there is too much to choose from. Woodfire pizzas, pastas, delicious salads and thats not even including the pub classics!! We'll definitely be back soon!

Young security guard on Friday the 30th
At 9pm was very discriminatory towards me and my friends. Especially the females friends. He was way to creepy towards them. And demanded to know what we were doing before and if we were drinking which absolutely 0 of us had any alcohol in are systems. We came in for food but because of his Sloppy, discernment, disgusting behaviour not only did we not get food we left feeling creeped out and disgusted. Please change something before someone files a police report on him

You'd really struggle to pick a dud meal here - seriously, all meals are so good and there's a surprisingly good beer selection. Venue is pretty average but with great food and booze it's pretty easy to overlook.

Wouldn't play the Big Bash Final on the big screen outside. Instead opting to keep playing some unimportant game that it was very clear nobody was watching. The rude and unprofessional staff made it clear that there would be no discussion. They weren't changing it right from the first ask despite it being obvious there were now tables within viewing distance of the other small TV's they had it playing on and a large number of people still wanting to watch it. Mostly from outside.
Definitely a place to avoid for all major sporting events! You'll get there only to find that it's not on and if you wanted to watch it you should have chosen another pub which is what we ultimately had to do.

What an absolute TOP FIVE Star menu and location . I strongly recommend the Lamb long Cutlets. My wife’s dish the Murry Cod tasted like it was caught five minutes ago. For those real food lovers. New market is the place to experience great entertainment, outdoor seating the best wood fire outside of Italy location.

We went there last week for lunch and ordered octopus. There were problems with knives and forks as it was so busy. I complained and the manager assisted so much that he made me feel guilty for complaining he was excellent. The food has always been good I must say the octopus is way overpriced and should be a entree meal price. I recommend this place for the service and the food.

We went for a drink and I got a yummy pizza for $14 as well. The other items seemed a bit expensive for a pub but I haven't tried them so maybe they are worth the price.
The spacious beer garden out back is a good setting and pet friendly.

We waited nearly an hour for the wrong dish to be served, then waited another 25 minutes to get the correct dish. The host was really great and helped where she could, but when you're starving, it's a long time to wait overall .

We've been loyal customers to this, our local pub for many years, more recently Sunday 16th August 2020 my son wanted to celebrate his 12th Birthday here, it was his choice because he loves the pork rib plate,
We booked lunch for 9 and 1 high chair,
Taking into consideration the difficult times we are all facing, We complied with the signing in rules, temperature no problem ,
We were seated at our table and proceeded to order
The teens all had the pork ribs with chicken strips they were happy with their meals
We wanted 2 salmon, and were advised they were out of stock, ordered
Starters 2x chiilli cheese pizza
3 pork ribs
2 spaghetti marinara
1 nacho
1 lasagna
1 ceasar salad
1 salt n pepper squid
2 bottles of wine 3 jugs of soft drinks
Needless to say we spent a fair bit,
In all honesty the waitresses were lovely
They tried to accommodate us bringing our baby a high chair, but the food, what a total disappointment, the ceasar salad I honestly think that chef had never prepared one before, it had no taste at all, just a lump of salad, it had no love at all! Like those prepacked Coles ones are far better!
I watched right infront of my eyes as our 2 pizzas walked right past our table,( we were seated right infront of the pizza makers) they navigated inside did a round of all the tables and then were bought back outside to us!
Yes in covid times!
The kids were happy with their ribs, the men were so so about the spagetti, serving size was small and prawns severely overcooked and dried out, grandma was ok with her salt n pepper squid, even if she didn't get the salmon she wanted, lasagna was ok
And so were nachos, over all an average experience I didn't complain because I didn't want to ruin my son's birthday lunch.
My husband stood up from our table with our 6 month old and he was told very firmly from "security "to sit, apparently your not allowed to stand with these new covid laws, not even if your baby is upset crying.
We left there, yes I was still hungry as I left most of my salad, we had a booking upstairs at the bowling, the service was wonderful, what a happy bunch of workers there
We ordered coffee, it was great, service with a smile, and we had milkshakes too which the kids loved, 5 of us bowled and everyone had fun, thank you Manhattan bowling for making my son's bday a memorable occasion
As for the bistro, whole family agreed it's unlikely we will return!

We’ve been here a few times for lunch and dinner. The food is very tasty and good value for money and the staff are always so lovely. The lady manager on the floor is always so helpful and accommodating.

We're regulars at the Newie. Good pub food at good pub prices. The wood fire pizzas are very authentic and the regular specials menu (which changes often) makes it worth the visit. Generally a friendly place to go with a good vibe. Good for families when the sun is out and you can use the beer garden but does get pretty busy. Maybe a little limited on the wines, but it is a pub after all.

We ordered two rib-eye steaks for $84, they we're only 1cm thick and very fatty. The vegetables were raw and the only good part of the meal was the mash potato. Very disappointing, unless I get a full refund I will not be eating here again.

We ordered pizza and it was horrendous! It was cold sloppy and undercooked! We had chips and they were raw and cold also! I wouldn't serve this to an animal! Waste of money and a health hazard I'll be surprised if we're not sick within a few hours after attempting to eat a slice! Disgrace!!!!!!!

Went to watch Australian Open and was a nice night. However online it states bar closes at midnight. Went to order drink at 11.05 and told bar closed and only drinks in garden you have already bought. Totally fine with that but no one told us last drinks etc. we went there especially as closed at midnight but it doesn’t really closes at 11 and no drinks after. Bad end after we spent a lot of money.

Went there for a work function. I had the 400g rib eye steak. It was so tender and not chewy at all. Perfectly cooked to medium rare, would definitely have again.
Only downside was the seating outside, it was a very hot day and they do not have any mist fans or anything to lower the temperature even though they had shades to cover the outdoor area.

Went here to pick up food as they are currently unable to have patrons eat inside. Staff are friendly and follow all COVID requirements. When they were more open to the public I went there with my partner and had a good meal.they have plenty of seating both inside and outside in the garden area. Big screens for viewing sport such as rugby. Because of the bowling alley that is part of the building going here for a meal would be a great date idea when lockdown ends.

Went here after a ten pin bowl next door at Manhatten Bowl.
I ordered a pizza as they have two serious looking pizza ovens that I figured would turn out a good result.
I opted for Pepperoni pizza at $25.
I was the last to order but first to reveive my meal so super quick.
It looks great. the crust is fluffy and puffy. It has that authentic look about it where the emphasis is on the crust, not the toppings. I bite in full of expectation, and it was initially nice, but then I couldn't help but think about what it lacked.
For starters, the pepperoni was not hot but rather tasted like salami...? It was mico fine sliced so as to cook quickly, appear to be generous and crisp up.
It was un offensive, and there lay the problem because they want to appeal to as many tastes as possible this would seem to have come at the cost of the Pepperoni which is a very basic pizza that needs the kick that chilli brings to what is just tomato base, mozzarella and the spicey sausage.
I tried the curry with Jasmine rice and found it to also be tasty, but...SAFE. There was no strong flavours or spice. This also had very dry rice like it had cooked on to the bowl used to shape it. Not fresh, soft and fragrant like you would expect.
Disappointing at the price. If you dont have very developed tastes for different cuisine or just feeding kids, it would be fine, but it's a pub full of adults!!?

Went for my sister's bday and the pizzas were honestly amazing. Fresh and just delicious. I'd go back just for them and I'm more a seafood person. Everyone enjoyed the meals. I got a salmon and Nicoise salad which was really delicious! But those who had the burgers rated those but the Chips and pizzas were the most highly ranked. It was packed when we were there but the atmosphere was nice and the food still came out quickly and was tasty. Sorry I didn't get heaps of pics but this is the salmon and in the background the Garlic cheese pizza. Recommend you try this place good for families too and our children went up stairs and played a round of ten pin bowling too. We had 10 people in our group and ordered drinks too.

We came in around 11:30pm on a Saturday night, went straight to the bistro section to order food and were immediately cut off from the bar by a bouncer. We had only had a few earlier, a friend who drove and hadn’t had a drink was also cut off. Am rarely in the area but if I am again will try to avoid, no fun to be had here with such strict and irrational bouncers.

Visited on the 18th Feb to watch UFC and to grab a feed.
Air conditioning was non existent on a 28 degree day.
Incredibly unpleasant, sticky and sweaty experience.

Very tasty food. Pizza was delicious and I had one of the best lasagne perfectly done with a bit of crispy parts on the edges. It cane with a very fresh, beautifully dressed salad.
Also got to try my friends chips, so definitely will order some chips next time.
Service was good considering how busy they were when we got there. Reasonably fast service.
Loved the outdoor area. Very nice to be there on a nice sunny day.

Very surprised to visit the Newmarket Hotel and found that it has been revamped after my last visit before Covid-19, family friendly (including your four-legged friend). The courtyard has been fitted with 3 large screens for the avid fans who enjoy having meals while watching their favourite sports games ie foodball, boxing etc. The hotel is now very spacious, inside and outside in the courtyard. The staff are helpful and friendly, most specially a young lady named Debbie. The menu and the food are delicious with generous servings. They do have Special Menu for $18.00, but my favourite out of the menu is the Salmon with Salad. This was by chance the best salmon and salad that I ever had. I have also entertained friends to the food offering of the hotel, be it from Woodford pizza and the rest of the food on the menu. Yes, I will be coming back with my friends and family.1

Unexpectedly amazing.
Looks like a normal pub on the outside but opens up into a massive outdoor area with giant TVs for sports, inside is quite nice.
Great food and good selection of drinks.
Good music too.

Tonight, I have dinner there with my family, unfortunately the orders for my kids were missing, which the staff is really nice to provide back the meals to our and also provide the desserts for our whole family as compensation, the dessert is so nice , but the main point is, the way how they deal with problem and issue, which is 1000% make their our customers feel the problem is resolved, and also feeling valued by the staff , and the most important thing is, I will come back again and also I will let ppl know they do do right thing to customer also

Served in our house spicy sauce and a side of blue cheese sauce was nice the sauce was not what I would describe as House sauce.
I have tasted this sauce before.
The beer prices at $9.50 per schooner is a little steep the face that the eftpos terminal states a 1% surcharge maybe charged is 100% misleading, I paid using eftpos via savings and was charged and also paid with tap and go and was charged.
Considering the prices they charge this is nothing more than a greedy cash grab.
I have 3 pubs in my neighbourhood none charge anywhere near $9.50 and none charge a fee for electronic payments.
I will not be returning and I will be recommending to my works social committee that we drink elsewhere next time.

This is our local. The food is amazing. They have 2 large wood fired ovens and make really good pizza. It's family friendly, and hosts many sporting events on the big TV's.

This is a nice local pub with a large outdoor area that is undercover. They have woodfired pizzas here that look delicious as well as the usual pub grub you expect.
There's a small smoking area, front bar with tab and largish gamin area that is mainly smoking.
The staff are friendly, live music on Sundays and it can get quite busy.

The staff at Newmarket hotel are absolutely fantastic. There was a slight mix up with our table booking but the staff had done such a great job with accommodating our group.
I would definitely recommend coming here.

The service was subpar but the food, in my opinion, was awful. I tried the chicken skewers, pizza, salad and calamari, all of which tasted off. It did not taste as if it was prepared properly and even seemed a bit undercooked. Not to mention the vibes I was getting from the employees were not pleasant either.

The security at Newmarket was the worst, generalised me and my family for nothing, wouldn’t let us in and my sisters husband was in, yet he called the cops for nothing . Made me feel so uncomfortable so rude! I don’t ever want to go there. So unfair, they need to get new security guards ! Especially being POC this is not it. Worst experience! Just trying to get in whilst people were leaving.

The Newmarket is a place of comfort and familiarity that I don't get at many other pubs. Michael the owner is a gentleman, his staff are all fantastic and the food is ridiculously good.
With a members program, great outdoor and indoor spaces with heaps of big TVs and a ridiculously large outdoor screen, a huge and boujee pokies room (for the area) it's definitely the best place for a night out or a quiet one any day of the week!

The new market hotel has a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly, helpful and down to earth. The bar garden has a great vibe especially on a Friday night.
The decor is modern and the place overall is very clean as big on hygiene even before covid.
Now let's talk about the food I can honestly say that the food here is absolutely amazing and the best food in the area. It's full of flavour and will always want you going back for more, my recommendations are definitely the garlic pizza with cheese, Nutella pizza, the rib eye stakes and souvlakia over all you can't fault the food or the menu..... I will say this make sure you bring your appetite.
The pokies room is pretty cool and best part about it is its spread out and open.

The music was too loud to have a comfortable conversation and the food: the 400g rib eye, we asked for medium rare and it was well done and no tender at all..., 2 burgers and both the meat was overcooked, a little burn so both my friends didn't eat them. Quite sure I won't eat here again

The manager himself should be ashamed of himself. It was clear the people i was with was well over 18 but still was asked id. He made a fuss of the situation when we purely wanted to only have lunch.
I will never recommend ever going there. The food isn't great with the amount of money you spend i will go somewhere else. Tasteless!!

The food was substandard. I had lamb shanks which were ok but my wife's mushroom risotto was very poor to the point that she won't be going back again. According to her the risotto used the wrong rice and was lacking in mushrooms.

The first time I was there was for the Conor McGregor vs Eddie Alvarez fight. The setup was brilliant, you can imagine how crowded the place would was, so I can't really judge on the service. The staff was still very friendly, the beverage was fairly priced and the food was ok. A place worth checking out if your with a bigger group.

The bistro is full of family gatherings, which causes the room to be very noisy and unpleasant for conversation for couples. Seating for couples tends to be in the direct path between the front door and the courtyard; every time the doors open these diners would cop a blast of cigarette smoke or cold draft.
Of late, food portions have become smaller and therefore more expensive. Staff taking orders often appear unfamiliar with the specials menu, forcing the customers to repeat the orders.

Sufficiently diverse menu, with good quality, restsurant-level food for the most part. Also has fish and chips from the shop around the corner and a GREAT Mexican menu (every day after 5pm except Monday).
Indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of heaters to go around. A bit on the pricy side, but the 30% off select menus with a free membership helps a fair amount depending on the day you go.
Massive portions, at least for the Mexican food which is infinitely better both in value and quality than you'll get at Guzman's. I especially like the loco corn.

Saw the hot wings on the menu and had high hopes. I love buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce. So got these and was truly disappointed. Firstly, they are just boiled wings coated in hot sauce. No char on them at all. Secondly, at least half of the wings had feathers still attached. Some I picked off, others were beyond even that... was disgusting. They don't clean and cook them correctly. Popped by on Saturday evening place was pumping manage to locate unreserved table. Was great had 3 different TV in the area which was great as such busy night of sports WWC, Rugby union and NRL. Order the double cheese burger from special menu, was OK filled a hole and fair price. Set up at the bar was weird large service area but two ques were formed snaking into the tab area. Staff were friendly and professional. Was not a bad location to stop have a few beers watch sport and have a feed. I'm not a fan of children in bar, this place was full of them so suppose it's family friendly

Our party of 6 had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. With a group of that size, we had the opportunity to savor a wide variety of dishes, including the chicken parmigiana, southern fried chicken burger, and lamb skewers, all of which were delectable. To top off our meal, we enjoyed the delightful apple crumble with a scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring nobody left hungry, and the service was attentive and accommodating to our larger group. On the night of February 18th, I went to celebrate my birthday at the Newmarket Hotel and I would like to share my experience and compliments for the manager who was very helpful and efficient. We had a small issue with our reservation, where our table for 20 people was outdoor, but due to the rain, we urgently needed a covered table. That was when the manager came in and did everything in her power to help us.
She managed to negotiate with other tables that were leaving the venue, in order to find a covered spot for us. Although we had to wait a few minutes, she kept us updated and informed at all times, which made the wait much more pleasant. Her professionalism and attention to detail were remarkable and made all the difference.
Thanks to her diligence and dedication, we had a wonderful night at the pub. The food and drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. But the highlight of the night was undoubtedly the manager, who did her best to ensure that we had the best possible experience.
I would recommend this pub to anyone looking for excellent service and an amazing gastronomic experience. And if you're lucky enough to have the manager helping, you'll be in good hands!

One of the few places to go in Alexandria for a feed and drinks. Not a bad place to visit. Plenty of variety of "normal" food, but very limited for vegans (there is only one option and it is a salad, which is nice). Otherwise it is a good place to meet up. Plenty variety of beers and wines

Ohhhh Newmarket, one of the best pubs with the best pizza in Sydney. Whilst living in Sydney, this was a must at least once a week. The Got Calabrese pizza was my favourite

Nothing to complain about with Newmarket. Great atmosphere inside and out in the beer garden. Great if its your local pub. Having the car park attached for customers is also very handy

Nice pub at Rosebery. Atmosphere is ok in the beer garden.
The food has reasonable portion sizes for the price you pay and the wait is not too long.
The drinks are a bit pricey compared to other pubs or RSL. Eg, Corona where $10.5 and lots of other pubs and bars only charge $9.00. Some other imported beers were $15.00 and you can definitely be able to get the same drinks cheaper elsewhere.
If you're out for a quick bite or catchup with friends and family, it's an ok place to go.

Nice atmosphere and clean. But this is the second time I've come here and ordered a Medium Rare steak for it come out beyond well done. At $44 for a T-Bone, not happy. And we waited so long we didn't bother complaining to have to wait another 25min.

Newmarket Hotel was very active and a delightful place to dine. The food was great and it wasn't long before we were sitting at a table eating dinner. It seems to cater more for the younger people as well they where checking everyone in with the NSW covid app and to make sure everyone had masks on or with me. It was a pleasant evening.

My husband and I come to the pub for dinner at approximately 5pm. We were made to leave at 7,05pm by a rude security man. He accused us of being there since he began his shift at 3pm.
According to my phone I entered the premises at 5.21pm, we had dinner and 3 drinks each.
The security man accused us of lying!!! And became passive aggressive and argumentative. If we had of been intoxicating, which he had claimed, this treatment this most definitely they way to induce a negative reaction.
They have no respect for customers. We will never be back again!!!!

Me and my dear friends are regular Newmarket goers and normally we receive good service. HOWEVER the service from Lawrence at the bar is absolutely EXCEPTIONAL. The man is a living legend and will happily chat to you whilst shaking up your cocktail and will give you the best value for money and the tastiessst cocktails in the place. Very accommodating and shows great attention to care. But most importantly he enjoys his job and what he does!

Loving The Newmarket for takeaway during lockdown. You can order directly from their website and they have a great menu with so many choices. Really love the steak sandwich :) Great service and very reliable. Well worth trying!!

Loved it! Great atmosphere, awesome place beautiful areas, much larger than initially thought and well laid out apart from ordering area, which was a little squished.

Local pub bistrol with great vibes and a wood fire oven. I've been here a few times and it's a decent over all. Usually I would go for a wood fire pizza, the crust and toppings are all there, there usual Bristol food is "okay". There frozen bar drinks are great but cost over all is a tad bit heavy handed otherwise not too bad. Great vibes for after work or party in the beer garden. Yes dog friendly 😄 my only big gripe the apple crumble for $12is the size of a biggish bowel , I was expecting it nicely played like everything else 😂 so it was a minor let down, I'll sneak in after a few months and update later.

Large spacious venue, great for children, families and the outdoor beer garden is pet friendly. The food is fantastic too, weekly specials plus an extensive menu and some of the best wood fired pizzas in the area ensures there is something for everyone. Sports fans will be happy with all sports covered in many large screens throughout the venue. Great specials for members too. Highly recommended.

Large hotel with both indoor and outdoor seating, heaps of space, can book for larger groups. The positives: lots of space and they have Stone & Wood Pacific Ale on tap. Negatives: can be very crowded meaning slow service. We ordered 3 things: calamari, chicken wings and chef's special prawns. Calamari was ok but didn't like the sauce on wings and they were dry. Also - they forgot about the prawns so after 30 minutes ofnwaiting we requested a refund.

Lacking duty of care to customers. We were served by a trainee, however the trainee didn’t know how to order. Not all his fault as there was no supervisor teaching him. The next waitress was not the best communicator and made the ordering process very difficult. She also processed orders for new customers over the customers who have been waiting longer. What would have been a 2 minute process probably took 15 minutes. Food wasn’t bad though - star for that.

Just want to say thanks for all that the "Newy" team did on Saturday night 25/11 to ensure my school friends and I enjoyed our 40 year JJ Cahill Memorial High School reunion. It was a busy arvo and evening but this didn't detract from good service. I didn't eat but food looked great, others said it was tasty and very nice and many went back for seconds with others ordering meals. Particular thanks to Michael who indulged us with music from our era when the footy had finished. To the young woman who made my pot of tea (on a tray and all), thank you:it was JUST what I needed 😊

I was refused service as a nearly 30 year old woman because I came with my under age sister for dinner, was told I had to be a guardian or parent and that there were too many adults around, when walking out there were people with children at their tables, one table even had unattended minors. Makes no sense and a massive inconvenience, I have never heard of this in my life. In my area this wouldn’t be and never has been an issue with any pub. Would NOT recommend.

It was my first time here, and it was more pleasant than I thought it would be! I went here with my team for a Christmas Party, and we liked the selection of food and drinks on the menu. Decent grub for a pub. Everyone was pretty happy with what they ordered. Good serving size, good taste, and came out fast and fresh. Staff were friendly and accommodating but it is a pub so you order at the counter. The only thing I fault this place for is the lack of ventilation in the back courtyard. If the weather was nicer and had a cool breeze, this place would have been perfect. Spacious and plenty of room to sit. We went here on a particularly humid and hot day, and there seemed to only be one giant fan in the back. We discovered that it did little to nothing to help ease the heat. It did not oscillate, and it just moved the humid air a little more rapidly like you're seated in front of several people running on a treadmill breathing at you with their mouth open.
Other than that, I think we had a great time here! One of my highlights was that my chicken schnitzel looked like the shape of Australia (see pictures for reference). Didn't take too many pictures. Was too hungry.

I ordered several food items on uber eats for delivery . The pizza didn't arrive arrive so I called up and spoke to Phillip. The pub sounded very busy however Phillip was awesome and advised he would prioritize a pizza to be delivered by the bistro asap. Within 15 minutes, Stuart from the bistro was at my door with the pizza, plus a nutella pizza to say sorry!
I can't believe how much they cared about my order which was probably one of many many orders!! Thanks so much!

I live technically 5 minutes away so no complaints whatsoever. The place is great as it literally has everything that you can imagine from a retro bowling alley to some great wood fired pizzas and they are absolutely a delicacy 😀 It has a nice sit out which serves great wood fired food and trust me they are yummy 😋The music is also great as they play some nice EDM stuff and house 🤩Their gambling arena just takes you a different world all together as its nice and pretty with great staff all through 😀So place should be a definitely worth visiting 🥰Don’t get too drunk and misbehave as the security guys are strict and you don't want to get in to their bad books as they are only doing their job. Otherwise they are super friendly and nice to chat too 🤩

I had an awful experience today while entering the gaming lounge. The security guy stopped us from entering and allowed other people inside, saying they are regulars. The girl standing in front of him was trying to help us, and he stopped her too by saying, "leave them on me".The gaming lounge/VIP lounge closes at 3:00 am today, but he said it's already closed. We tried explaining that we are not here for bowling and dining; he just said that everything is closed. Thanks to the manager who came there and took us in.
I am hoping a reply about why was the security guy rude to us.
And also the place is really amazing with very friendly staff (except the security).

If you're really on the tooth I can highly recommend the bistro's Crumbed Lamb Cutlets with Vegetables. Mashed potato, steamed carrots and beans with three large cutlets topped with gravy. A big blokey meal, scrumptious.
UPDATE: Returned to the Newmarket Hotel for lunch yesterday, the venue is as good as ever. Top of the list of our preferred local venues.

If there's a place I like going to it's there. The staff is friendly, the food is ok, and the beverages are reasonably priced.
The back area of the bar is really nice and you can have the big screens diffusing big events, so at the end it's a good place to hang out at.

I didn't get the chance to try their food so this is based on the rest of the evening, and if it wasn't for the people I was with, I might have given three stars.
I've never been fond of standing in line at the bar for extended periods of time, however, I've never liked making eye contact with the bar staff only to be ignored only to watch the bar person serve "another round of the usual I take it"? This was followed by several different drinks being poured before mine, even though I was there for noticeably longer..!
Come to think of it, the only bad/negative experiences I had here were related directly to their staff and staffs inability to treat people with equality!
New staff and slightly lower drink prices should do the trick...

I came to Newmarket last night to watch the main event boxing fight with a group of friends. I brought my dog and was seated outside. Just before the main event the security guard asked me to leave as "no dogs allowed after 10pm". My friend was fighting on the last fight of the night, so I missed watching that. Where does it say anywhere on the website that dogs become unwelcome at 10pm??? Such a bad rule, I would love to know how you came about establishing that rule.

I'm giving 1 star now because we walked in to buy takeaway 3 orders of fish & chips, extra tartare sauce, extra beer battered fish, and drinks. Then I asked to place all orders in boxes which we will pay for so it's easier to carry and not difficult to eat outdoor, but the staff said that the owner won't allow it as the boxes are only for delivery. This is even if we're willing to pay for these takeaway boxes. Terrible customer service. Unhappy customer here. This shop is willing to lose regular customers over takeaway boxes that we are willing to pay. Wow. Need to refresh your customer service skill. Poor decision. Never again.

Helpful friendly staff, when Uber eats left most of my large order behind and was unable to deliver the second bag of most of the food because the order was “closed” Joanna arranged for one of her staff to drop off my order , they also remade the order which had been sitting for a while and added tiramisu as a treat to apologise. Had the rib eye, asked to be cooked medium, certainly wasn’t that. Very fatty. Left a fair bit. Certainly wasn’t worth the $55. The XPA had an off taste also. Love the hole in the roof too 😂

Had heard about the great atmosphere at the Newy so decided to wrangle up a few of the boys from work and head down for a couple of Saturday night skewies and a slap on the pokies. Had an absolute ball, one of the gals on the bar, Rose, was an absolute darl and looked after us for the evening. Will definitely be back again! Great atmosphere and incredible service!

Had doubts about this place especially being a wood fired joint. I have been to many places and have been royally dissapointed with their so called wood fired pizza. So we decided to get the hot calabrese pizza. When it came out I thought, is that it? Two toppings the cheese and sauce. OMG what a tasty pizza. The hot sausage mince is something that I could not get enough of. The subtle tomato sauce complimented the overall pizza. The only thing that could use a slight tweak... was the pizza base. Lovely light dough but was soft and wet when they served it to us . If they could use some special plate that would keep the bottom crisp or if they put olive oil on the base so it would crisp up that would definitely improve the base. Still, a scrumptious pizza I definitely will come back for more. Well done guys.

Had a great experience and lunch at the Newmarket! We sat outside in the garden for a birthday lunch.
One staff member offered to bring our meals over to us and he later organised some complementary desserts for the table. Some of the best customer service we have received.

Great vibe, friendly staff, food didn't take long. We had buffalo wings, lamb & watermelon salad, tuna salad, prawn pasta and a chicken schnitty. All perfectly cooked and SO tasty.

Great pub with a mostly local crowd. It has a strange layout with the pokies room up front where patrons are also allowed to smoke and that's what the place smells like as you walk into the dining side of the pub.
The other side is mostly the people making use of the TAB facilities, making bets etc.
We visited on a day 2 huge tables in the outside area were booked. The staff seemed to be kicking people off these tables despite being a couple hours from their guests' booked times.
Not a bad place for a drink or two but definitely lacking in need for a reshuffle for outdoor seating arrangements.

Great place to go with kids! We went for dinner on a Thursday night to celebrate my son's 10th bday. The staff were great - when I made a booking on the phone they asked if there was an occasion and placed a little sign on the table to wish my son happy birthday. I think it's the little touches that count. There was 10 of us - most of us ordered schnitzel given it was Tuesday $12 schnitzel night. Speedy service and good sized dish. My husband and son ordered a pizza which was wood fired but they weren't impressed with it - it was undercooked, doughy and soggy. Other than that we had a great night! Will come again but stick with schnitzel!

Great local pub with an expansive beer garden spread out the back. Gets quite busy on sunny days. Great pizzas to have with your beer in the sun. Their apple crumble is also epic. Even better if you like sport, as they got it showing all day. If you're lucky, they may even have a band on.

Good ambience, especially due to the fact that it is located right next to a bowling centre. The nachos and gnocchi I received however, tasted really heavy, reminiscent to fast food like Taco Bell. I would suggest the nachos to be topped with shaved cheese rather than that gross dense cheese dressing. The cheese dressing really left a strange feeling in my mouth afterwards.

I really like this place.
The food is great and staff are friendly.
However, I'm very disappointed with the 'changing room' for babies.
Please, get a new changing table. The one in the disable toilet looks disgusting and feels very unsafe.its rusty and full of dust. It's shaking a lot.
Please, it's not that expensive and you can even find it for free in Facebook marketplace.

Generally a great place for a good feed and drinks.
Wide range of beers on tap and with a red members card and happy hr, $5.50 for a pure blonde or Carlton dry.
However their chicken schnitzel batter and mushroom sauce has changed, and not for the better.
Schnitzel use to be golden and super crunchy, now it looks undercooked and soft. Mushroom sauce was creamy and tasty, now it’s gravy with slices of mushroom.
Having said that, the chips are amazingly delicious.

From outside, the pub doesn't look like much, however, inside you receive great friendly service, good food, poor choice of beer and fairly priced cocktails.
TV's showing AFL, NRL and, of course, the days horse racing.

Friends planned a lunchtime gathering for a few families. I have two children with Coeliac Disease. This was to be our first time eating out since my 7 year old son was diagnosed last week. I called to investigate options. They said they cannot provide gluten free kids meals (which I understand) so I asked if we could bring food for two of my two children (as we often do). They said I wasn't allowed - that no outside food could be brought in and said there were gluten free options on the broader menu. I said that my 7 and 9 year olds aren't going to sit and eat grilled chicken or steak and salad (at adult meal prices) while their friends eat nuggets and chips or pizza in front of them. He restated that no outside food could be brought in. I said are you really saying that you can't provide kids meals for my children yet I'm not able to bring food in for them? The manager arrogantly restated again that no outside food was to be brought in. We cancelled the booking and none of the families involved will ever return. In the 8 years of dealing with my daughter having Coeliac Disease I have never experienced such discrimination and lack of understanding and empathy at any venues.

Friday night NRL AFL double. Bar service decent. Good options of beer and prices pretty standard for a schooner. Lots of food options which was top level. Woodfire pizza fantastic. Newmarket 🏨 is a nice little pub in the neighbourhood. They have a wide range of 🍺 to choose from. Their daily specials are a good bang for the buck (Wednesdays are $12 steak days). Good sized outdoor and indoor sitting area. They have bowling alleys on the first floor serves drinks.

Extremely small portions of very expensive food made to look nice but taste meh. Potatoes were hard, fish was burned. Friends ordered 'mushroom burgers' that had two small slices of mushroom with a piece of cheese served on cold non-toasted brioche buns. Overpriced beer. At least we could take dogs into the uncovered area, which was nice

Experienced the Newmarket for the first time on the weekend for our son's 30th Birthday party. What a great night we all had. Great place, top staff and great food. Always accommodating 10/10.

Experience at the new market is always good - great place to go as a family - good food - wide variety of food on the menu and to top it off you can go down stairs with the family and kids to have a game of bowling (I'm pretty sure they do deals - if you eat dinner then bowl its cheaper - make sure you ask)
The staff are lovely
the only thing is that they dont give you much gravy/sauce with your schnitzel or steak so you may need to order more. other than that i give it a thumbs up :)
they have also opened a function room that looks amazing but not top sure about pricing.

Edit: a few years on and this pub is still one of my favourites. The staff are what makes this place tick, all are very good at looking after their customers. Renovation has made this place even bigger!
This has been our local for the last few years and I've got to say that it's the only pub that's made me want to review it. And all because of their service. They have a manager there that is very attentive to his clientele, without them even noticing, and has been fantastic. The food has always been amazing and for pub food there is nothing better. I've eaten at seemingly nice restaurants that do not compare. And on the occasion where something was sub par, they are quick to remedy it and then some. It's just a great pub with a nice beer garden and friendly staff that appreciate their customers!

Don't bother eating there, I haven't been there in over 2 years went today for the tszyu fight.. Ordered there rip eye for $42 it was thinner than a thin slice if bread, .with nothing but chips and Brockley..
Ordered a $24 double pattie burger with chips was not bad can't complain.
Ordered a garlic pizza don't bother it was just pizza bread for $12..
Don't waste your money and eat there better go down to the pub down the road...
I've had better steaks for $10.

Can’t believe I’ve been a regular weekly customer and now get told I get charged for asking for extra sauce for my kid’s schnitzel. They can have their red card back cos there’s plenty of other places who would appreciate loyal patronage rather than being petty about sauce. A very friendly pub that is well experienced in catering for a large crowd. The food is amazing and has a large selection to choose from.
The bar area could be bigger and it can sometimes get a little crowded, however the bar staff are well trained and wait times aren’t too bad.
There is about 25 pokies in a seperate area with staff and another bar if that’s your thing.
Big screen TV’s are scattered about and each time we’ve been the crowd seems family oriented and friendly.
Off street undercover parking is a bonus.
Will definitely continue to return and hopefully become a regular.

A good old fashioned boozer that has maintained its Sydney character. Good tastefully decorated art deco bar, locals are welcome and an expansive and lovely beer garden. The $7 pints of guiness are a highlight. It is worth visiting for these reasons alone but also it houses the best Mexican food in Sydney at increadybly reasonable rates.

A good local pub. Attended here with a big group of friends after going bowling upstairs. The staff were very friendly and service was quick despite the pub being quite busy due to a sports match. Got dinner as part of a package for me and my friends, including drinks and food and bowling. All the meals came out as ordered with no issues, meals were delicious.

A good and convenient pub in which you can enjoy alright quality, quite generous mains in the ~$20 range while watching sports.
There’s almost always a beer of the month (schooner $5), the house red is sold at a good price ($9), and they have a huge beer garden with nice projectors and a large dining room.
And they also have a stage in the front bar. They run trivia nights from time to time.

After the renovation, definitely this place lifted up the game and really wish I could rate five stars. Almost every thing is perfect, the foods are fantastic, staff members were friendly too. The major downside is the male wash room is very congested and wasn't regularly cleaned at all. Perhaps they could renovate the wash room next. A classic Sydney pub but with the best food. If you like a good wood fired pizza then this place has some of the best in Syd! Steaks are also great and they have a huge menu for all to choose from.
The beer garden is great for kids, heaps of tables and shade and non shade areas.
The front bar and back are divided so if you don’t want to see the TAB section then you don’t have to or if you like a punt there’s heaps of space and big screens to watch the action.

Absolutely love Newmarket!
My colleagues and I go for team lunch usually twice a week.
The steak is probably the best in Sydney, the chicken wings and tenders with blue cheese sauce … Omg … delicious!!!
The ribs and souvlakia plate are soooo good we order every week!
The manager is so gorgeous and sweet he gave us complimentary tiramisu.
A lovely day in the sunshine with friends, a crisp glass of Riesling, lovely music playing …. A perfect day out ….xxxx

A bit pricey but food meets the price.
First time I went had a beautiful pizza and the crust was nice n crispy, smokey, chewy with a nice portion and spread of toppings.
Second time I had chicken schnitzel with Mushroom sauce and it was a great meal with chips and salad. The chicken was nice and tender with a crispy coating.
They also have a nice variety of tap selections.
Only downside was the pork ribs. My friend ordered it and it looked nice at first glance for $29, a plate full of pickle veg, chips topped with a rack of ribs. But when u get the knife and try to cut it, u will start to question the rib. It is marinated like any other rib would be but the meat is extremely hard. If u r used to having soft chewy rib meats this won't be the ribs for u.
If I was blind folded I would've thought I was chewing on a tyre.
Asides from the ribs was a great experience.
