Went for a special family lunch on Boxing Day -16 adullts plus a few grandkids. The food was excellent and bar n waiter service friendy and efficient. Howeverwhat was most amazing were the seafood specials - A platter of oysters kilpat for $22 plus a seafood platter for $20 which had 4 moreton bay bugs oysters prawns and a seafood salad. What a feast! A family friendly environment to boot. Well worth a visit.

We had a family dinner at your fine Hotel on Sun 11 Feb 2024 at 5pm for our daughter Erika’s 37th birthday. We had a party of 12 and every single food item that came out was truly superb! Your Chefs are to be highly complimented as the food they produce is of the highest standard easily comparable to any high class restaurant anywhere in the world. The presentation of the food as well as the taste was just incredible. All your staff members are so kind and considerate but the main person looking after us was Lachlan. What an asset this lovely young man is to your business. He was so patient with our elderly (often difficult) 86 year old Mum and nothing was too much trouble for him to do when dealing with us. He was so welcoming and we could see how much he genuinely loves his job. He went above and beyond with our family but also did the same with other patrons on the day. Please pass on our gratitude and heartfelt thanks to your Chefs, all your staff and especially to Lachlan, who helped to make our Erika’s 37th birthday such a happy, successful and special day for her and for the rest of us also. Well done Newmarket Hotel - you are all stars in our books

Visited this Hotel on both Friday and Saturday nights just gone. Had the most amazing service from Larry. His attention to detail was fantastic. He remembered that someone in our party was allergic to nuts and then proceeded to make sure the dish that she ordered on the Saturday night was okay for her allergy. The food was perfect and we would not hesitate to visit this hotel again on our next trip to Brisbane.

Used to be so great. Now just below average. Mashed potato was almost soup. Steak was okay. Vegetables tastes like microwaved from frozen. Miss the old days when you got a full plate of fresh food

This is such a great venue. Wide range of food to choose from and the location is easy to get to. There is heaps of undercover parking and the staff are so friendly.

The staff was more than happy to switch one of the tv channels to an NFL live game, the reason we were there for. The food ordered were good and fresh. The service was good and it was easy parking too.

The staff here were very kindly and very helpful with explaining how to use the online menu and how to apply my discount card. The food came out quite fast and was generally good. I ate it quite fast also as I didn't have time to take a photo. I had the Wagyu beef with chips and calamari topper. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but I suffered very painful food poisoning the following which I can only attribute to the calamari as it was the only odd thing I ate that day before. Otherwise it was a pleasant pub and nice enough atmosphere.

There is something for everyone on their menu. The specials are worth a look and try. The prices are reasonable and the tables are not crammed in. The staff is young but they are very able and friendly and definitely deliver on service and friendliness. The food was also great.

Soulless, no atmosphere, hot as hell, boring staff. First and last time coming here. Walked in and asked for 2 pints of Stella, tasted awful so asked the guy if the lines had been cleaned, he said not for weeks! That's disgusting. Ended up drinking a Byron Bay which also had the same dirty taste. Karaage chicken was below average too. Do yourself a favour and go to another place, it isn't worth it.

Service staff are always friendly. Good selections of draft beer at reasonable price. Prosecco is good. Love their steak, fish of the day and salad. One of our weekend lunch place. And week night quick dinner. Also best place to watch footy and all.

Mangers are so rude started on my sister in law on vaping when she had no were to put it and wasn’t vaping. She didn’t even great us and wouldn’t listen she was mocking us why we got angry and told her off. We told them to look at the cameras and they tools sides and kicks us out when she was in the wrong. Honestly need better mangers as there so rude

I like the place but I really wish it had a pool table, my friends and I enjoy the Newstead as our local but we’d be there even more if there was a pool table available.

Had the lunch special steak today. Was perfectly seasoned and the chips were nice as well. My only complaint is that the steak was slightly more cooked than what we ordered, but it was okay because it was still most, not at all dry. Pretty decent option if you feel like a pub lunch.

Had a few pub meals here recently and they've been pretty good, thought we'd splash out on eye fillet steak for $42, was very small, not tasty and over cooked . Sauce wasn't great, chips almost cold.... need to do better for $42 . Service is always good

Great service and atmosphere. The lamb rump was delicious. However, the great northern battered fish & chips, and the kids fish and chips were disappointment for us. This was my second visit, I don't think I will eat fish here again. I'll keep eating steak and beer here.

Great place for dinner or drinks or both, whether for two, a group or a party. Good variety of food to choose from. Heaters on the deck to keep one warm on a cold chilly night. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Four of us lunched at the Newmarket in early May. We had a fab afternoon and everything ran smoothly. The Newmarket is part of the ALH Group, which owns and runs a number of pub and accommodation venues in Brisbane. We’ve been to a few of them recently, and they’ve all displayed the same high standard of cleanliness and professionalism; with super fast service and outstanding food. Prices are affordable and modest, making these venues accessible to everyone. When you walk into the Newmarket, you’ll know that you’re in for a pleasant time. It’s a large, airy and spacious place with a classic retro look and feel about it. It oozes warmth, homeliness and comfort with high ceilings, carpets throughout, and solid wooden chairs or upholstered benches, and large tables. There was a decent turnout, so the place was fairly full when we arrived at 1.00pm, but the ambience was relaxed, casual and laid back. Despite the crowds, acoustics are good due to the carpets, high ceilings and well spaced out tables. We were greeted by Margot, the maitre d, when we arrived, asked to complete the Covid protocols, before being shown to our booked table in a nice spot near the back, with bench type seating for two and solid wooden chairs for the other two. Full table service is offered, including for drinks, so we didn’t need to leave our table. We started with a few rounds of our favourite Moscato Red at $8 a glass and a pot of refreshing Stella at $7. The food menu is extensive and varied, with something for everyone, including all the usual pub favourites, like schnitzels steaks, seafood and pastas. And best of all, for us “oldies” a seniors menu, which you can avail yourself of, by showing your seniors card, which we did. We ordered calamari. sirloin steak and rissoles to share. All dishes come with chips and salad or mash and vegetables, and at $14 a dish, that’s unbeatable value for money. The serving sizes were generous and the quality of the food was first class. To start with, the calamari was soft and chewy, and served with crispy chips and salad. The main courses were equally good. My wife’s steak was well cooked, just the way she likes it, whilst my rissoles were fresh and tasty and smothered in a warm, rich gravy sauce to give it extra zest and flavour. The mash was soft and creamy, a nice contrast to the crunchy vegetables, which included broccoli, carrots, cabbage and corn. Our friends both had chicken breast schnitzel, with chips and salad and they also enjoyed their meals. The presentation was impressive, everything neatly arranged on the plates and served on stylish, modern crockery. But it’s in the service department that the ALH Group hotels really excel, and the Newmarket is no exception. Margot, the maitre d’ who was also our server, together with another smartly dressed lady in a black uniform, were hardworking, attentive and friendly. These guys don’t miss a beat and the place hums like a well oiled machine. After we’d signed in and been shown to our table, our orders were taken. Drinks, starters and main courses came out at a steady clip and in the correct order. And it’s all done with a pleasant smile and a cheery demeanour. The staff do their best to ensure that all guests have a pleasant time, and they clearly take pride in their work. The toilets were clean, well provisioned and strategically situated just in front of the main bar counter. The Newmarket Hotel is conveniently located in the Newmarket Village, a shopping and entertainment hub. It’s a breeze to get to, with ample, free undercover parking in the basement of the centre. From the parking area, we took the lift up and found ourselves right in front of the hotel. Couldn’t be easier. The Newmarket offers an affordable and enjoyable dining experience; with tasty food, outstanding, professional and competent service and a comfortable and homely atmosphere. Overall, an excellent venue that I can recommend.

Excellent Service, was acknowledged straight away. Very clean restaurant. Staff attentive and Friendly (big smiles). Food was quick (I was there at 2.30pm). Got the fish and chips (with salad) and softdrink - just under $30. Generous helping of food. All day dining. Free parking at shopping complex. A+ service. Highly recommend to eat here.

August 2022 Five Stars We have been back, Congradulations the food was amazing and the staff quick efficient and friendly Wow Wow Wow. Such happy customers we are This review is from 6 months earlier took quiet awhile to get our drinks 20 minutes, that was a bit frustrating, especially when we could see them sitting on the bar. I would have picked them up myself but decided carrying them wasnt an option. When we asked if we could have our drinks the waitress answered yer yer yer. I was a bit stunned to be honest. I hope staff out with covid was the culprit for the slow drinks service. Ill see what happens next time Im at the Newmarket pub.

Amazing venue🤩 Very friendly staff, efficient at taking orders and delivering exceptional value when it comes to customer service and cleanliness We had eye fillet and the black angus rump. Cooked superbly and tasted great. Only mention would be the size of the eye fillet. Its too small in comparison to another great steak venue in Brisbane Amazing seating areas and lots of TV screens to catch all the sports action I highly recommend dining in, having a drink or two or even a punt Best part is that they have CANADIAN CLUB & DRY on tap....make sure you ask for fresh lime too🤩🤩 Thank you🙌🏽💯

All I wanted was a nice meal for dinner. Very disappointing and underwhelming regardless of price. ($41.50) I ordered a medium cooked steak (400g rump 180 day grain fed) with 2 sides of (chips + mashed potato). The meal came out in a timely fashion. The plating and presentation was not appealing. Although lathered with oil and charred, the steak was cooked quite rare. The chips and mashed potato were only warm. The mashed potato wasn’t fluffy, only heavy and bland. The staff took the plate back to the kitchen for the chefs to cook the steak for longer. When the steak came back, it was still medium rare and the chips + mashed potato were now cold. I didn’t bother touching the sides but ate only what I could of the steak. The table condiments (salt and pepper) were also empty. The QR code ordering system undercuts skills of the serving staff forming hardly any relationship with the customers. Seems improper for the application to ask if you would like to add a tip. Why would you add a tip for an experience of food and service you haven’t received yet? On a small note, the latte was lovely with the milk textured nice and silky.
