Wouldn’t let us in as they thought we’d been to a concert? We had dinner there earlier on the night and they were letting other people in.

We visited chemist warehouse and Woolies. In both stores we needed a little help and in both stores the staff went week above and beyond to help us find what we wanted. Very friendly. We must have come at the right time as we got a parking s spot right out front and there were lots of other sports available too. There are bathrooms in the mall. Overall for a quick stop we were quite pleased.

Went to the Newmarket Tavern in Flemington as I was stuck for the afternoon in the area, and I must say it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in, I couldn't help but notice how dirty the place was. The floors were grimy, and the tables looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. It was quite off-putting and made me question the overall cleanliness of the establishment.
Another major issue was the overwhelming presence of pokies and the number of intoxicated individuals. The Newmarket Tavern seemed more like a gambling den than a place where people could relax and socialize. The incessant noise from the pokies machines made it impossible to have a decent conversation, and it was clear that some patrons were there solely for the purpose of gambling, with little regard for anything else.
The atmosphere was anything but pleasant. The combination of dirty surroundings, loud noises from the pokies, and the excessive drinking created a disconcerting vibe. It felt more like a dive bar than a reputable establishment. I was genuinely uncomfortable during my time there, and I couldn't wait to leave.
Furthermore, the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed disinterested and overwhelmed, making it difficult to get their attention when needed. It appeared as though they were more focused on catering to the frequent pokies players than providing a welcoming environment for all customers.
Overall, my experience at the Newmarket Tavern was highly unsatisfactory. Avoid at all costs

This area is the best place for shopping.
I also work Woolworth New Market.

The staff was really rude and the meal was small so they used a bread and butter plate for the 2 sausages and mash. There wasn’t even enough sauce for both the sausages.

Staffs are very friendly and providing great service.
I could smell cigarette smoke all over the place which makes me feel sick.
They need to upgrade glass door not sliding automatic door. Quite disappointing.

Small shopping area. There's woolies, a bakery, a chemist, a cafe and bric-a-brac shop.

Reluctantly gave 1 star for food. Was the worst fish and cheaps I've ever had. Tasted terrible and gave both of us bloated stomach's.
The burger was only slightly better. Very greasy

Really great bar to watch sports (watched Matilda’s there) however the door to the smokers area opens up right into bar/finish area and you are forced to inhale second hand smoke. Surely this is illegal ?!! Will not return until door is moved to outside .

Nice place to hang with a big tv screen. We usually go if there are any sporting event.
Few staffs are really bad(due to this giving 4 stars) but most of them are good.
Overall nice place to hang out.

Love this place. My new local. Tuff but understanding and approachable staff. Happy and Prosperous vibes. Welcoming venue and always clean and classy facilities. 9am till 3am with coffee station free for patrons in gaming lounge

Just left the pokies venue in disgust because I wanted a coffee there complimentary coffee machine was out of order so my partner asked the barmaid for a lemon squash and a coffee she charged us nearly $9.00 when my partner question the price she said what do you want it for a $ 1.00 she was loud & boisterous so we asked for the manager got a refund and left never to return she need to learn more people skills oh other pokies venues have complimentary coffee & soft drinks the manger said no they don’t well yes the do we told him seagulls & millers inn hotel & & yarraville club just to mention a couple

It's a bit intimidating when staff at the pokies are walking around staring at u whilst ur playing. It's annoying how "locals" can reserve as many machines as they like

I found this place quiet affirming. Small centre with train station nearby. You will get most of the things you need in so small area. You don't have to worry about parking its always plenty there.
Most of the all no hassle and clean, compact and all needy stores .
I frequently visit here and would recommend as well.

Ideally located, Newmarket Tavern, is a great venue offering Pokies, TAB, lots of Live Sporting Events to watch on the big screen, Outside Smoling areas, helpful Staff and plenty of Parking and Public Transport at the door.

I am regular Wednesday parma night customer :) I use to be local and always like the place . Service is always good even though some time it takes around 30 mins for your parma to be served . With the current $20 parma and pot deal is amazing . I usually for Mexican style parma - delicious . Chips are crunchy and chicken portion is good size . I think it use to be bigger . So far it’s very good . It’s a tavern so no complaints for the atmosphere .service people are friendly including the security person at the door Highly recommended .

Huge meal, tasty & fresh, bit too much stale smoke wafting in from smoking area though. Prices reasonable, staff helpful.

Group of 18 unable enter due to being at race's, group not vocal, wishing to have service's while waiting for crowd to clear.
2 patrons inside. Very sad for all concerned.

Great meals and staff. Only problem, you constantly smelt smoke from the outside smokers area. It was very disgusting actually. It's the last thing you want to smell when having a meal.

Excellent pokies venue with Sports Bar & TAB facilities.Ideally located inside Newmarket Shopping Square.
Very cosy , clean & comfortable & ideal to enjoy a quiet evening

Don't be fooled by the gluten free bun option!!!
I ordered a gluten free burger but when it arrived on my table I asked the waiter if it was in fact gluten free. He couldn't tell me so went to check with the chef, came back and told me that is wasn't and that the sauces used on it weren't gluten free either. Also, the chips that I had been snacking on while waiting for him to return weren't gluten free. No other option was offered until I asked if there was anything else on the menu that I could have. The waiter checked with the chef and told me that I could order a side of potatoes! I was given a refund and waited for my friends to finish before leaving. I was very disappointed. We won't be going back.
Please educate your staff on dietary options. It is important that people with dietary needs aren't given food they can't eat! If you don't know what is in a meal, find out! Don't mess with people's health!

Best meal, it was perfect.
No complains Wednesday parma & pot $19.90 we got the chicken parma & Aussie parma they were cooked perfect so juicing not dried out like others.
They come with salad & chips
