Laid-back lodging featuring regular live entertainment, plus a sports bar, a bistro & free parking. Set 2 km from both Karkarook Park and Yarra Yarra Golf Club, this casual hotel in a business area is 13 km from Luna Park Melbourne amusement park. The laid-back rooms offer free Wi-Fi, satellite TV and minifridges, plus tea and coffeemaking facilities. Apartments add kitchens and lounges. Parking is complimentary. We sat in the public bar for some beers and dinner. The young lady behind the bar was lovely, very approachable and happy to have a conversation. The food was well priced, large servings for the price and was beautiful. All 6 family members ate everything and were very satisfied. Surroundings were fine, clean and no problem. It was a cold night so the outside heaters on would've been a nice touch for the smokers but all in all, an enjoyable place for a casual catch up.

Went there fathers day, didn't get my ordered meal, menu was average and staff were overwhelmed.
Decided to give them another try on Monday the 29th of December( quieter time) as there is a play area for kids.
Kids pork meal was dry and sent back, refund given.
Ordered steak again, they had no rolls or bread.
Steak arrived this time, chips were hot and steak cold and under cooked. I guess the steak sat there while they cooked the chips.
Didn't send it back as l could not be bothered.
Menu was still the same as last time and could do with up dating.
Staff try and are apologetic but it is ordinary at best.
Won't be back.

We booked the family room, nice and spacious, clean linen, the bathroom was clean and modern with strong pressure in the shower 👍. The building is a bit dated, but all the furnishings and decor are new. Great location for easy access to everywhere you need to go.

Was on a business trip to Moorabbin so I decided to book 2 nights here due to its location being very close to where I needed to be. Other than that there's not much in that area.
Accomodation: Room was nice and clean. Simple set-up, nothing fancy but cozy and comfortable. The receptionist Victoria was very nice and helpful. She even offered me a plug adapter since mine isn't compatible with the local power outlet.(I'm not from Australia)
Food & drinks: Sandbelt restaurant offers great food, drinks, and entertainment, all at very reasonable price. They even offer 10% off to hotel guests when dining there. My first day I was served by Sandra, very nice & attentive lady. Second day the server was a guy with longer wave-vy hair (Jack, I think), wasn't very friendly...

Was not happy with my chicken Switzel with chips and salad. The menu was not that great.

Very impressed, with a modern bathroom, the shower was amazing with plenty of hot water and pressure. Got a free drink in the bistro with 10% off my meal which was also pretty good. Will definitely stay here again.

Tried this hotel for the first time. Nice interior and atmosphere. Food was a bit hit and miss. Didn't have our entree choice, so they gave us another more expensive option which was nice. Mains were not as good. My wife's chicken was way overcooked. Had to send it back. They apologized, but by the time a new meal came, everyone else had finished eating.
Service was attentive and they gave us a soft drink on the house.

This place was a bit of a surprise. I was expecting worse. For the price, the bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. Two free drinks with the room too. I give it 4/5 for what it is. It is a revamped old motel at a budget price. It isn't near much but if it is near your desired destination, you could do worse.

The rooms are very nice, good value for money. Shame they don’t offer a real breakfast only a pack that they send to the room

The location is great for the Holmsglen private hospital. The staff are wonderful and very efficient and helpful. On-site bistro service was great. The only negative feedback was the spider webs on the ceiling and walls. And although it was clean at eye level down. You need to look up occasionally.

The Hotel rooms are always tidy with white linen which I appreciate, but the rooms need some maintenance with regards to paint and some other small details.

The beer is good. Usually a special every week. Comfortable couch/hairs to watch any sport. Huge screensAsked staff member to change channel to what we wanted to watch and was not a problem. Downside it is right next to pokies, so can be some distraction. However there is another area, sportsbat to watch.

Please beware before staying at this hotel,
Had a very unpleasant experience in particularly with Victoria.
Not only is she rude and unprofessional she will also without explanation keep your bond from you. I had a week stay with sandbelt nightcap with the first 3 nights being in room 7 (one bedroom apartment) i extended my stay and moved to room 6 which is a smaller room. i re booked again for another 2 nights in room 3.
I was accused of smoking drugs in room 7 after further discussion with Victoria i was told they do not in fact have evidence of this they are simply going of the accusations.
I have several screenshot of the several attempts i tried to make in calling this property in regards to my bond and was always told i would receive a call back in which i never did.
i have obtained a copy of bloods which in fact shows no drugs in myself or my partners bloods and was more than happy to provide this to the property however Victoria was very rude and unprofessional over the phone so for this reason i will be taking this matter further as you simply cannot accuse someone without proof 😊

Place is walking distance from home, haven't had a meal here for awhile,they used to be good but went downhill, could possibly be better now depending on the chef. Bar staff are lovely if you engage them in conversation. The pokies area men's toilet is horrendous, you can smell it 15 feet away and absolutely stinks, this is not a one off as it's been like this for the last few times we have come here, mind you the bistro toilets are a lot better.

Nice venue but terrible food. Partner and I went for the beef and Turkey roast which tasted like salty rubber for a good $50+. We were served ONE roasted potato on the side that was cold in the middle and hard on the outside. The rest of the plate was similar to a microwave bag of veggies from Coles. Some of the staff were great others never checked up on us and had to remind them to clear the table for dessert. If it was a cheap meal I wouldn't be so harsh but it wasn't.

Nice place to come and visit as it appears to have been recently renovated and the dining room feels very comfortable. It's a great place for the kids too as there is a small indoor play area and the kids menu has the usual standard choices.
Staff are really nice here and very friendly, great to have a chat and a laugh. Food is good value for money here and serving sizes a good size.

Nice place except when I checked in my room smelled like cigarettes even though it was a smoke free hotel. Other than that pretty good place for a night, a suggestion is maybe some cooking equipment no microwave or oven or plats or cutlery.

My partner and I had a casual celebration of our recent marriage at the sports bar. Staff were very lovely and super friendly. Despite some small issues on the day of the event, we spoke to management about these and they were resolved very quickly and to our satisfaction. Overall, the customer service was great and the hotel is very well managed and we would definitely go back there should we need another function venue. Thanks Vicki, Justin and Karina for all your assistance and wonderful customer service.

I would like to share my very recent experience, I came to Melbourne with my entire family to attend an important event. I forgot a bag which had some medicines and a valuable stuff. Out of Panic i sent an email to admin and requested to check the room. Within few hours I received an email from Victoria with a confirmation of bag and a offer to send the bag to me!! I have no words to describe how I felt with the gesture. On top of this, room have very comfortable beds & excellent room services. I would surely like to come back..

I've eaten a lot of chicken parmigiana's in my time but on saturday night I had one of the best, most succulent, freshest, mouth-watering delicious parma's I have ever eaten. I was in heaven. The food is always top notch at this bistro and the staff are always friendly and pleasant. Oh did I mention they have beer specials every week. 10/10.

I meet with friends here from time to time and always enjoy the meals while we chat and catch up with each other. The staff are friendly and helpful and the tables are spaced out so you don't feel crowded and talking among ourselves is not difficult. Overall an enjoyable experience that I and my friends will continue to do .

I have been visiting this bistro weekly but i do not remember having a good meal. My chicken schnitzel is has been cooked crispy and hard to even cut. I have ordered fish and it was over cooked and fishy. Calamari that tasted like rubber and faveolus mashed potato. I have ordered one thing and got something else||I really don't i have visited a place where the food is ordinary and management doesn't care when you tell them ||

Had my birthday party at the Sand belt, was very happy with the service. One staff member went above and beyond to help solve my issue, and several guests commented that the attendant was nice and friendly. Food was great too. We forgot candles too and the staff were happy to supply some.

Great value for money, very comfortable room with brand new bathroom facilities. The rooms
are a little on the small side, but certainly comfortable enough for a couple. Easy to find on South Road. Rooms were at the back of the hotel, away from the main road, so there were no issues with noise. Really friendly service when we checked in, great place to eat and have a drink. We have stayed in other Nightcap Accommodation locations before, and we will definitely be back again.

Great value for money motel in Melbourne’s south.
The rooms were very, very clean, new bathroom and nice furniture. I love the retro feel of the site. 👍
ALL the staff I encountered were very friendly & helpful and the food was amazing.

Everything about the hotel is great, Until the point during the last few days of me staying for a week, I got very startled from a stranger being able to unlock my door, the receptionist happen to give him a key card (room 23 if we want to be specific)assuming that the room was available. Had I not been in the room, someone would've thought it's free and made themselves home or walk in on 5 asleep. Did not feel safe anymore for the rest of the days with that thought.

Beautiful room and bathroom. Free water bottles and softdrink in the fridge. Very comfortable bed.

1. "roast" pork wasn't a roast at all, it was pork steaks.
2. chips were disgusting, waitress claims that the staff are making them themselves... half of the chips on my plate were black, as were on the other plates at my table. a respectable chef would never put those chips on a plate
3. one person at my table heard the staff (standing right in front of her at the counter) talking about how they didn't want to be at work
3. the curry tasted like the sauce came out of a jar
it wasn't surprising that the place was dead quiet for lunch on a Sunday. We won't be going back there.
