Wonderful Staff, friendly service Only let down by waiting time for meal, but they did have sa few people in and bingo service at the same time, and Steak a little bit overcooked for me, otherwise very impressive.

When the bistro is full by 6.30 on a Friday night, you know something is right. Quick, pleasant service and food that most of us a familiar with, I struggle to find a negative. I've been there a few times and never been disappointed. I'm the type of person who loves low fuss, quick and easy, so when I get what I want with a cold beer, I'm happy.

We went to try out the $10 seniors' menu on offer at the moment. We are definitely not big eaters, so often order from seniors' menu at other venues and pay $15 - $20 per meal.
Although the seniors' meals were very cheap, they were also very small. My husband had the seniors' roast, which he usually orders when we eat out. He wasn't impressed. He said the slices of meat were very thin, almost like they had been shaved. He doesn't like pumpkin, so he always requests an additional potato in place of the pumpkin. The gentleman who took our orders was okay with this, but when my husband's meal arrived, there was no pumpkin, but he was disappointed to find only one very tiny, "chat" size potato on his plate.
We would have preferred to pay $15 to get a bit larger meal.
I ordered the fish and although it was nice, it was also a very small meal, even for a seniors' meal.

Went with family for a birthday, checked pricing on website prior to going, website extremely outdated ended up having to pay 30-40% more for our meals, attempted to contact via email they didn't reply, no customer service and misleading pricing taking advantage of people who are already booked.

Went to the dinner and show on Saturday night.
The Cold Chisel cover band fantastic .
But the food , what big disappointment.

Went midweek for lunch, ordered seniors meal and got children’s serve, cost $30 plus for 2 people. Walked away very disappointed never to return .

Went for a meal on Wednesday night. Very busy in bistro but the service was great. A little wait on meal but it was very nice. Big thank you to the two girls working the bistro. Job well done . Hard tines when short on staff.

Went for a meal for my daughters birthday tonight. Both ordered steak, so disappointed. Bistro was very quiet, steaks arrived cold, garlic butter wasn't even melting, I had to spread it on the steak
Steak was so tough neither of us could eat it. And we joined up for memberships, thank god it made the drinks a bit cheaper.

We have eaten here on a regular basis up until about 12 months ago, and really enjoyed it. Last year service was terrible and as there are normally about 14 of us, by the time the last meal came out, most of us had eaten.
Because of the above, we decided that we wouldn't go again, but because of the New Year, decided that we would give it another go.
Last night 14 of us went, and the majority had the $10 Seniors meal, but the majority were disappointed. The wrong meals were brought out, some were cold and one was not cooked well enough. We were disappointed and will give this venue a miss unless we hear of improvement.

Visited on the weekend, venue wasn't fully booked. But unfortunately when our steak finally arrived after 75 minute's from placing the order, it was charcoal! Placing it upside down on the plate certainly doesn't hide the fact.

The only redeeming feature was that they serve ciabatta bread rather than sourdough (I'm so over sourdough). We've eaten here loads of times before and never been disappointed but standards have dropped. I expected crispy roast potatoes with my roast beef but got a potato in its skin drowning in gravy. Beef was thinly sliced but still tough and tasted like it had been microwaved. Other veg not cooked through. I left most of it. Won't be back.

The chicken Parma was the worst I have ever had in Ballarat. $33 dollars for a heart shaped snitzel. Cheese hardly cooked add on ya drink nearly $40 .

Some of the younger staff at this venue need to put 'their-manners-back-in' After being accused of doing something wrong in the gaming room (which never happened) I couldn't figure out why? Perhaps at the time the young man was just trying to impress his fairer colleague. But despite still being bewildered, I can only hope that this once fine club can brush up on their peoples skills. Rudeness, intimidation, by any show-off staff member should never be accepted by management, nor tolerated.

Service was amazing. Atmosphere was great. That’s where it ends! Food was awful! Beef noodle salad was a bowl of cabbage with not one glass noodle in sight. Surely the chef knows what’s in each meal and ensures the meals are correct before sending them out, added prawns to the salad which were barely cooked and so salty, they were inedible. Parmigiana at $33 (most expensive Parma I’ve ever ordered) was soggy and tasteless. We are from out of town and certainly won’t be back! Prices for the quality are too expensive. I think the place is confused as to what it is. Atmosphere of a pub/rsl. Food and drink prices are of a fancy restaurant!

My wife and l visited North Sports on the 20th of Feb 21 to have lunch. When we ordered we asked if the steak sandwich was sourdough bread or normal bread and were told it was normal bread so we ordered it after the attendant went to the kitchen to check that it was normal bread. When it came out it was a Sourdough bun that it was presented in and it had no butter on the bun and no sauce. After speaking with the attendant that said it was not sourdough he brought out sauce and butter but by the time he got that the meal was cold. Very, very disappointed.

I've come for dinner and bingo. I've just had the porterhouse steak. Beautifully done. The best steak in a while. Kudos to the chef.

I recently became a member of of the north Ballarat sports club and booked a table for one online which was confirmed via an email last Friday evening, when I arrived at the club they had no table for me saying they had cancelled my reservation without any explanation. They then told me to stand and wait until they could organise a table for me, 15 minutes later I was told they had a table for me but after I finally arrived at a table which was being set up they changed there minds and led me away to another table back on the other side of the venue and said wait again until they wiped it down. After finally ordering battered flathead which cost $32.00, it was an hour before I actually got the plate delivered to my table. The food was with out a doubt the worst meal I have ever experienced, the fish was inedible, under the soggy oil soaked batter was what I can only describe as green hard substance that could not even be cut with a knife let alone be eaten. It’s quite pathetic how a multimillion dollar venue that makes obscene amount of profit from gaming machines have the audacity to serve inedible food to the very people who they lure in with false advertising. It is my experience that all of these large venues have the same issues, all of them serve substandard food, any local fish shop is a better option.

I had the roast pork and it was bloody terrible. Chewy and the crackle was like rubber,i actually folded it into 4.Definitely lunch leftovers re heated.Gravy was like water and dripping off plate.
However the carrots were nice.

Have been here before but have to say young bloke in bistro tonight was so rude. Bistro trading hours state bistro open til 9pm we arrived at 8. 20 pm and he was like closing soon so order having said that Rosie? in the bar made up for it with her friendly service. Hopefully rude young bloke can learn some hospitality skills from her

Had a beautiful lunch here today, service was superb with two lovely girls who were very friendly and approachable. I was impressed by the service, especially with the food and will certainly come here again. Highly recommended!

Great food and very pleasant staff. The view of the stadium makes a great backdrop to the restaurant. We will definitely be going back for more.

Food was ok but the prices are expensive if your not a member. The ribs were chewy and it’s hard to believe they had been cooked for 12 hrs 🤔

DO NOT EAT HERE DURING COVID PANDEMIC, THIS WARNING WILL.PROTECT YOUR HEALTH POSSIBLY YOUR LIFE!!
This venue does not believe the government Restrictions on density spacing applies to them as per staff comment! Spacing between separate tables was raised. We were able to move our table maybe 5cm on one side but thus reduced the.spacing to about 15cm on the otherside. Refer attached photo! (Top.of chair spacing on photo). This was not a major issue until.they.placed another lot of guests on the 15cm gap side. I had asked for new guests to be moved as this.is not following guidelines. "No" she stated the place was fully booked, ok we continued on with eating our meal. Staff member came back "while we are still eating"and said she could move us to the very far back table, no you move guests sitting on top of us who have not even ordered yet!!
Now restuarant manager, you don't want.staff abused and yelled at, (not that I abused or yelled at her), situation's like this will cause customers to react badly. Get with the government rules! Space your table with 2 or 3 guest per guidelines!!
If any one of us catch covid from being in your venue tonight the matter will be taken further and this review spread on wider platforms and reports to government officials on breaching covid guidelines.
PS. As for your fully booked restaurant where no one could move tables 4 tables were still empty upon leaving!!
Will not be back during covid!!

Bought the porterhouse here a couple of times decent size if a little tough cooked medium tastes okay and friendly enough staff. Sundays they do a carvery which is excellent value for money. Decent family meal kind if atmosphere wouldn't be my first choice but is okay.

Attended today to celebrate my mums birthday. We had a great meal and the staff were really friendly. Would definitely come back. Thankyou
