North Lakes Sports Club

Will never eat here again. Waited 3/4 hour for food. 3 lots of people at tables next to us said they had been waiting for an hour! They’ve changed the menu- for the worst. They offer 2 main courses only! We got spring rolls that tasted like they were out of a packet. My partner got a vege stir fry w/chicken. Cabbage and onion were the ONLY veg, the chicken nuggets were all dried and the sauce was definitely out of a bottle. I got the seafood noodle dish, which somebody must have dropped 1/2 salt shaker in. 2 small prawns and poached barramundi which disintegrated in broth. Felt sorry for the poor young guy waiting the tables. He was really good, very professional. Unfortunately he copped all the abuse from all the customers. My suggestion, invest in a decent restaurant manager who can run things properly.

Waited 1 hr for food . restrwas inly half full . I ordered the barramundi. more like an appetiser. Fish overcooked with 4 half roast potatoes and 8 beans.

Visited North Lakes Sports Club for the first time to enjoy a group lunch. My overall impression of the club was positive. It was bustling with people, had ample seating throughout, several dining options, a large and well-stocked bar, and plenty of pokies. If anything, parking may be limited during peak times. We booked a table in the Banyan restaurant and, after being seated, had to wait quite some time to be served. The gent that approached us was very pleasant, although he didn't specify why he was there, so we ended up directing the conversation, ordering food and drinks at the same time. The meals and drinks were promptly served, and our entire group enjoyed their selections. These ranged from my Seafood Risotto, an unusually cheesy yet really flavoursome option, through to a mega-sized pork belly, decent fish and chips, and an attractive home-styled lamb roast and veges. Our drinks were generic beer and softdrink choices, so not much to say there. They were cold and tasted good! Once the meals were finished, we unfortunately sat and waited for an extended period of time, with no service offered at all. The table remained full of empty plates, no second round of drinks was able to be ordered, and dessert, which had been selected by those interested, also had to wait. When the gent finally returned, I mistakenly presumed it was to do all of the above. Instead, he politely explained that they were closing in one minute, so could we possibly complete payment. I therefore told him we wanted dessert and had waited patiently to order these. Luckily, he was happy to oblige and, five minutes later, the Black Forest Panna Cotta and Tiramisu arrived. Both were enjoyed, although the Panna Cotta was much closer to being Chocolate Mousse. Still tasty but not what I'd expected. Overall, the venue is spacious, clean-and-tidy, and offers plenty of drink, food, and entertainment choices. Meals and drinks met expectation but were definitely at the pricing high end. My mate's membership saved us $23, a nice touch. Service was friendly throughout, but the lengthy periods of waiting, while watching 4-5 staff members roaming the area cleaning tables, setting tables, etc., was rather frustrating. This was the one big disappointment of our visit and the reason I didn't offer 5 stars. That being said, I'm willing to return another day to hopefully enjoy improvements on this front.

Very good lunch at Crave Cafe. Must admit, pleasantly surprised on the quality. Had the steak sandwich and one of the best I've had. Chips were fresh and clean, and yum Mayo comes with. Nice atmosphere for a cheeky lunch during the week. Beer on tap crisp and fresh. It's definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!

(Updated 21/5/24). Had the $17 fish, chips and salad at the cafe. Never again. I doubt it’s actually fish as it is only 2-3mm thick and tastes like egg. Do yourself a favour and don’t order it. It’s a waste of money. (Previously in the restaurant…) Meals are quite expensive for what they are and the quality doesnt match the price tag. Lack of options now on the main menu compared to a while ago. Community clubs are becoming quite competitive now and I feel there are better cost/quality options out there. On the good side, table service is a welcome bonus but is let down by the lack of staff/interest to check in and take drink orders during your stay. We had to visit the bar once as we got sick of waiting. Staff attitudes were pleasant with a few jokes/laughs along the way.

So disappointed by the restaurant. The prices are insane for the quality you are receiving. I bought a fillet Mignon cooked medium. I received it closer to blue than rare. I was polite to the servers and explained I ordered medium. They recooked it. The server asked me to cut it in front of them to ensure there were “no issues”. The meat was now well done… To go from one end of the scale to the next and receive poor service. Definitely won’t be a returning customer.

Service was prompt! Food was just beautiful. Very tasty... & served hot! Further ordering of dessert & drinks - was great all round!

Our booking was for 7.15pm, so was not busy with new customers ordering but It took a hour for our food to arrive, when did it was cold and tasteless. The service from the girls was good very friendly. We won't be eating there again

North Lakes Sporting Club is located at 36-42 Flinders Parade, North Lakes, QLD 4509. One of 3 licensed local Sporting non for profit clubs run by the CSC Group across the Moreton Bay Region. This club is a great meeting place for family outings & friends to enjoy a meal or a drink in one of the areas that this club has onsite. I found the place to have a great ambience & the staff made you feel comfortable during our initial visit to this establishment. Enjoyed a delicious lunch on the day, it was certainly value for money 💰 Plenty of room to move around, enjoyed the Sporting bar area as well as the Gaming room which has a large number of pokies! This club looks great, is well maintained & run by people who care about their community. North Lakes Sporting Club has a wonderful undercover drop off entrance where people with disabilities can be dropped off with no fuss. Plenty of open air car parking is available around the club outside premises. I would suggest on busy occasions that you make a reservation in advance. There is an excellent children's room available nearby the main restaurant 😀 A very good place to enjoy some quality time in the North Lakes community.

Nice little club. Went there twice during my visit this weekend. On Sunday I was there with a big group of friends. We all enjoyed our meals. Our waitress, Alura was lovely, and was quite happy to take a group photo on 4 or 5 phones for us. I appreciated it, asI am sure the rest of the group did. She was very friendly and helpful. On Minday, my brother and sister in law when back for a bite in the cafe. We again enjoyed our meals. Would recommend.

Nice club very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant food is just average but a bit expensive compared to other clubs. I had the roast lamb with Yorkshire pudding. Meal arrived with no Yorkshire's. Food was only just warm and the lamb was dry and tastless. Yorkshire arrived on seperate plate and was cold and tuff. I think I'll stick to the cafe next time as it is v good

My wife & I had lunch in the Crave Cafe & ordered the Seafood Basket $25. Not realising it came with no salad, which was an extra $7. So we got a plate loaded with chips, a small piece of fried fish & small pieces of fried seafood. The meals OK if you like chips but, compared to other clubs & pubs is definitely not a $25 seafood Basket - especially without salad. It was our first visit & one of the nicest clubs we've attended, however very disappointed with the meal.

My Wife and I were at NLSC for Lunch today and we could not have asked for nicer staff truly. My Pizza and my Wife’s Frittata were above board in all aspects. Thank You for the generous experience!

Last visit, our food was ordinary at best. Decided to give them another try. Arrived for dinner, seated and said someone woild come and take our order. 20mins later, we decided that it was not good enough, being left to wait that long. Cancelled and we won't be back. Please, lift your game, or people are going to stop supporting you. We are not the only ones who are unhappy with the standards.

I wasn't a huge fan. Oysters were absolutely smothered in overpowering BBQ sauce, which was a disappointment. Steaks were cooked perfectly but had a bitter after taste. I'm not sure if it was like a liquid smoke flavour or what was going on. They make you remove hats in the establishment but let people in wearing pluggers haha They had little kids colouring in packs for the kids, which was good, but unless you are a member, your kids can't play on the equipment. Try explaining that to a 3 and 4 year old. Overall, the food was ok, typically pub style meal but more on the expensive side for what it was. If the oysters had less sauce and the steak didn't have the bitter after taste it would have been a 3.5-4 star. A bit over 200 for 2x mains, 2x kids meals, 12 oysters 1 beer, 1 Coke.

I’m not sure what is happening in this restaurant. There were 4 of us 2 orders were rump steak medium the other 2 rib fillets order was medium rare. All steaks came well done. The husbands did not want to return their rumps but the wives returned their rib fillets .. we got them back but this time literally came back blue and a big ugly old hair in the mushroom sauce to boot. We did think we were being pranked for returning the original steaks..But unfortunately we weren’t. The waitresses are lovely and really tried to help us we didn’t end up paying for the 2 steaks .. and settled for a toasted sandwich elsewhere. Wont be eating here again.

I'm from Melbourne. The staff were amazing. Held my bags for me whilst I waited for Josh to pick me up.

I had lunch here today and my sesame beef tataki was amazing and the staff were so nice and helpful. I will definitely be back.

Had lunch in the Cafe today we ordered pizza not cooked soggy on the bottom also ordered a small quiche also not cooked on the bottom I thought quiche should have egg in it not in this one . Worst meal ever . We mostly eat in the restaurant part always very nice . Know better next time

Had lunch here twice this week, both times were excellent. The food is very good ,the portions are generous and the quality is very high. The prices are reasonable and the service is very good .The staff are lovely and very efficient.They have a good selection of quality craft beers I Highly recommend trying them out .

Had high expectations of the Banyan Signature Reef and Beef. Ordered medium rare but it was more on the rare side for me which was okay. Didn't care for the bugs which tasted bland and didn't have any sauce. While the beetroot coulis was nice I would've must preferred chips & salad. It's worth joining to get a discount on food and drinks. Shout out to the friendly and attentive staff.

Had a friend saving a table for myself and a group of friends for a little trivia night outing, and the rest of of were running late due to traffic. The staff decided it would be acceptable to speak abhorrently to our friend waiting, making remarks that “no one’s coming”, embarrassing her so much that she had to leave. Absolutely disgusting way to treat customers, immature high school behaviour from a group of adults? Gross

Great place for a celebration. Everyone enjoyed the experience and meals. Staff exceptional!!!!!

For a last minute organisation, North Lakes Sports Club were well accommodating for a group of 7, as our family have a bunch of birthdays around Australia Day. They had a table for 6 available with plenty of room to fit one more on the end. There was even a comfortable sofa along the wall for those who wanted to just relax with their "cuppa" &/or enjoy a morning chat. You go up to order your meals & when your meals are ready, you have been a buzzer/beeper that will go off, for you to go collect. I ordered an Asian salad, unknowing it was spicy, & took it back. I don't think they've had anyone sensitive to spice before because they asked me what I wanted to do. I made a suggestion to swap for fresh salad I saw behind the counter with the exchange of payments & she absolutely filled a bowl for me, got a separate container for the dressing & then went to talk to the manager! He came out & confirmed it was spicy himself, even though he liked it ☺️ but he would bring over the difference in price & had to the menu that the meal was spicy! He even brought a fresh cup of milk, as my mouth/throat was still burning a bit. I was so impressed with the service of this place I wanted to let everyone there know what just happened! But I know that would not seem socially acceptable! So here I am telling the World! 😁❤️ Outstanding service! Oh gosh, my ham salad was also extremely delicious BTW! I was almost sick once the spice hit my stomach (I've had major issues with my stomach for the past year), but you can get takeaway containers & I was able to enjoy the rest of the ham salad when I was feeling better! 👍

Best place to go if you want to not watch the UFC fights and not be told any information on why they suddenly aren’t being shown. Big ups to the management today .

Been a member here since the club opened and we were frequently there but over the past year the food in the Banyan Restaurant has definitely taken a nose dive in , selection, quality, value, and appearance. We still go down for a beer or two but avoid eating there as I am sure it’s prepackaged and just reheated but thought a fisherman’s basket from the cafe would be nice and that was a shocker , a plate with some chips strewn across it , a small piece of cold fish and four pieces of what could only be described as Chefs surprise. Sadly we will be cancelling our membership as this place has become somewhat irrelevant to our past experiences of a once fine establishment.

A very nice club. Food took a long time to get. When we paid, the lady apologized for the long wait. Saying they had unsually many bookings. The food was great and well priced. We will go back.

Amazing night with friends listening to old school music, and I enjoyed the two male and female band. Will definitely return with other friends already planned.
