Was exactly what we were looking for in terms of fantastic pub grub.
We came on a fairly busy weekday afternoon. It appeared they were short staffed, but this didn't mean their service suffered. In fact, it appears the attentive owner was actually serving and doing the waiting himself! He even acted as a semi-sommelier, recommending a really lovely Sangiovese to go with our steak.
We were so happy to see a lively venue with great service in our stomping grounds!
Bonus if the weather is warm, as they have set up a "Pub in the Park" right out front too.

The friendly service here is the standout. Food is right up there as well. Parma top notch. Good range of beers on tap.

Such poor service. Not dog friendly at all. Was told I couldn't have my lap dog on my lap, though other customers did, and my dessert was held hostage until I put my dog on the cold floor. No reason given. Just outright rudeness. Won't be going back to be embarrassed ever again 😠

Steak night Is a must
Family atmosphere and friendly staff.
Been around the port melbourne area for decades, this is a stand-out.

Love this place, perfect for a little Sunday Session with a great rotation of live music. The food throughout the week has always been excellent, and the staff are all lovely too.

Lovely pub. The food is great and they've plenty of good beers on tap. The staff are super friendly and provided excellent table service, even when we're just drinking beers.

I really enjoyed my visit to the North Port Hotel. I had an amazing Guinness Beef stew and my friend had the Sirloin.
The staff and service was excellent which accounts for the great atmosphere... plus it's dog friendly which is relaxing.

I often drop in to the North Port on VFL game days. It is known as the Borough’s local (Port Melbourne FC). It’s a honest pub with value for money meals, cold beer, and attentive staff. Sundays they have live music / Jam session with Miss Dee Dee and friends. A good local drinking hole. I had the snits with fried egg and pepper sauce. Loved it.

I can’t fault absolutely anything with The North port. Impeccable food by Chef Jordan. Tasty, juicy, steaks with delicious sauces, the best potato cakes in the whole of melbourne and sides that are delicious and fun to share. The staff are lovely - always with the good recommendations and the location is easy to get to via bike, tram or car !
Head down here for lunch or dinner and prepare to call this your new local (even if you live far away like I do!)

Great pub. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and banging food. Not a huge menu but everything we saw come out looked great and ours tasted amazing.

Great pub for a beer and meal in Port Melbourne. Staff are friendly and the venue actually has table service which is quite rare these days.

Great little spot this is, let me use their microwave to heat up my lunch!! Pour a grand Guinness here, perfect combo for my noodles. Workers all great people, highly recommend

Good and service were great. Ate a standard Parma and it was great. Service was quick and food was well prepared. What one would expect from a standard pub - including reasonable price. Cannot comment much on atmosphere because we ere there in a non peak time. Reasonable amount of parking and accessible from tram stop. Recommend 👍

Friendly staff and a real authentic pub space. Meals were lovely and appropriately priced. Will definitely stop by again when in the area. Also the venue prides itself on the local history around it and worth taking in the pictures and trinkets on display.

Food and service was really good. Steak sandwich was tender and flavourful. The southern fried chicken starter was amazing. Great pub and great staff!

Fish and Chips may be quintessentially British but it’s the Aussies who seem to have perfected yummilicious serves of it at the multitude of neighbourhood pubs. First class Fish & Chips at North Port Hotel Restaurant!
Fresh Fish ☑️
Good crisp and light batter. ☑️
Chips that are crisp on the outside and hot and soft on the inside. ☑️
Yummy homemade tartar sauce with a good juicy wedge of lemon for the fish. ☑️
Heinz Ketchup and Malt Vinegar for the chips. ☑️
Note: There was some mushy peas too, hidden behind the fish in the pic. Decent enough but I’m not a fan of mushy peas. 🤣

First time there. Visited with friends who live locally and use here often. Tuesday night wad steak night. Had an excellent meal, well attended by friendly staff. Will definitely go there again.

Lovely and cosy atmosphere, really great and dog friendly!? That’s amazing, was so cool wish I had of brought my dog, such a cool idea.
The staff were incredible, I have never seen such a well maintained table service pub. Never had an empty glass, the staff were so attentive.
The food was pretty good, the “potato cakes” were really heavy and oily but the fried squid with the chilli slices were amazing, I have been thinking of them since I left.

Came here on a Saturday night because they are dog friendly. They happily allow dogs inside and they were all well behaved. The food was fabulous and the sticky date pudding was amazing. Fabulous sauce:pudding ratio (there was lots!)

Called in here on Sunday on my way back to my hotel after a walk down the seafront at Port Melbourne, I had used this place a couple of times for a beer whilst leaving work so thought I would go back and try the food, Excellent beef Sunday roast, very recommended

Awesome pub! Popped in for dinner tonight. Service was awesome, food was amazing. The Calamari entree was absolutely superb - best I’ve ever had. Get on it kids. Oh and this is a proper dog friendly venue. Warm and welcoming, old school quality service and superb food. Can’t ask for more than that.

A truly dog friendly pub! On a husky crawl with 5 people and 5 huskies it’s not easy to find somewhere to accommodate us. The North Port is truly the most welcoming and the most dog friendly establishment we’ve found in Melbourne. To quote our waiter “I saw you all walking and so hoped you’d stop here!”. We even got a personal visit from the chef. The food was delicious, good priced and the service was amazing. This husky pack will be back!
