Went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and almost walked out as soon as we got there. The service was appalling and not professional. The menu doesn't match the online menu and was very hard to read. Suppose to be a top seafood restaurant and only had 2 dishes on offer. Rest was steak or chicken. Then had to wait over an hour for our meals . Would of understood if u were totally busy but the restaurant was reasonably quiet. Really disappointed

We had the chicken and the steak. Very tasty and well cooked. Pretty pricey though eg $40 for a small steak. See photo.

We had dinner here on Saturday night. The waitress offered us the Special of the night which was a spicy pasta. She confirmed it was ‘very spicy’ but also added it was ‘a bit of an experiment and they weren’t too sure if anyone would eat it because it was so spicy’.
Indeed the pasta was inedible it was so spicy and was clearly an experiment by the ‘chef’.
We ordered another meal because obviously we were hungry. We were advised by the waitress we would still have to pay for the inedible pasta. I said you have to be joking and she said the manager confirmed this.
At the end of the meal when we paid a different waitress argued with us about the meal and then insisted we pay $28 for the inedible pasta because we ordered it!
This place is an unprofessional joke. Eat somewhere else I’d suggest.

We chose to stay at this hotel due to this restaurant recently adding a very impressive looking vegan menu. This was the $20 "vegetable stack". Which we were overcharged for. I'm an international flight attendant, I've never been more disappointed in room service in 10 years, and after a long day driving my partner was insulted and frustrated that this was the meal she'd looked forward to. We dumped it in the bin and ordered from Uber eats. Your kitchen should be utterly embarrassed and ashamed. I'd call your "chef" a cook but that would be an insult to cooks everywhere. Go back to flipping meat patties at hungry jacks.
Update : we were told the general manager would contact us. Still waiting, 26-9-21
Update 29-11-2022 : they never got back to me. Customer recovery? Nada

Wasn't a busy night, so thought the food would be better. Dry fish(coral trout)on top of cool chips with a salad over-drenched in dressing. Good service. Enjoyed the guitarist!

Very poor service. Have to order at the bar which is difficult in booth seating for 18 people. Air can didn't work so sweating inside. Only 3 other tables of 2 in the restaurant but still waiting 40+ mins for meals. Staff didn't know how to work the till. Made booking 1 week before, confirmed booking day of. Arrived on time, tables not ready confirmed it was in the book just hadn't done the set up.

The worst meals we’ve had!!! We’re staying at Oaks and ordered room service from here. The baked Brie & Turkish bread for entree - the bread pieces we all burnt and the Brie looked like it had just been microwaved and it was really cheap Brie! My husband had the calamari, the serve was small it was over cooked and just looked like shriveled up pieces of batter. They made up for the lack of calamari with a really large serve of yellow looking fish & chip shop style chips. I had the pesto gnocchi which stated on the menu to only have tomatoes, spinach, onion & capsicum but there was also A LOT of mushroom and snow peas in mine, both of which I do not like. I would have been embarrassed to be the chef that sent these meals out of the kitchen.

The lamb cutlets were nice. Wouldn't recommend the grill chicken and they didn't get our side orders right. We sat for nearly 15mins for someone to clear our plates (these were nowhere finished) and were ignored. We tried to speak to the staff about our food and the staff avoided us.

The girls at this place are beyond amazing, so friendly and hospitable!
I dropped my credit card on the way out and the girls managed to track down my hotel room and return it!
Not to mention the steak was cooked to perfection! (Thanks Chef)
This place will definitely be my go to for my work trips!
Thanks team, you guys are amazing, I look forward to seeing you girls again and shouting you a drink

Terrible customer service. Average food. Eaten here 3 times. Twice takeaway to Oak Hotel, once dine in with a friend.
Pros:
Delivery to hotel room only takes about 20mins
The chicken Schnitzel was very good, not dry and very flavourful
Pretty venue, and mostly empty likely die to food and service
Cons
They always forget something, I paid for extra gravy, twice was forgotten each time
The mashed potato is awful, it takes like instant mash
The vegetables are blanched with zero seasoning, like bad pub food quality cooking
BBQ ribs were very average and very little sauce
The Caesar Salad is average, small portions and comes with capers which isn't mentioned on hotel menu.
When we dined in we weren't offered water and they forgot about our dessert and we waited 30mins and eventually asked.

Service here is beyond what anyone would expect. Friendly and polite staff more than happy to help. Food was tasty and servings were large. If you’re travelling and hungry this place will sort you out without breaking the budget. Beers were ice cold and served quickly. If you want fancy/vegan go somewhere else. But if you’re after that you should have done your research first.

Service and decor are fantastic, so it’s a shame that the food is well below average. Best dishes were the garlic bread and chips, whereas the Carbonara and Schnitzel were completely under flavoured and I’m pretty sure the mash potato was instant-mash. Unfortunately due to the food, I would not eat here again.

Restaurant set up was inviting. Out door heaters were a big winner for the cooler evening. Pleasantly arranged outside to enjoy a drink and bite to eat.
Meal sizes were very filling. Menu had a variety of choices and the service was attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere, awesome place to catch up with friends and enjoy a flavoursome meal.

Nice place, poor service. Forgot to put on of our orders in. My son’s meal didn’t come until we were finished eating. Our Steak salads came without any dressing. Very slow service. Hard to get another drink. I hope we were an anomily.

Kitchen can't get a simple order right of two parmy's with chips and salad plus a cheese and baboon bread stick for a starter. First parmy arrived before the starter, starter 5 minutes later the starter arrived and the second parmy another 10 minutes later without the salad. Meals from patrons who ordered some 10 minutes after us getting meals all screwed up. Completely pathetically incompetent kitchen.

I stay at The Oaks Gladstone often.
I have never had a meal that I have found satisfactory but tonight is the straw that broke my back.
The rump steak was ordered as medium rare. It was well done to charcoal. I ordered it with mash & veg. No mash whatsoever.
They also never provide salt or pepper.
I like both.
I am willing to suffer the cardboard ates but this is too much.
The Oaks need to have this conversation. The menu is poor and when it is cooked poorly it's very annoying.

Had Fish of the day with potatoes, broccolini and butterfly wine sauce. I probably lost 2 years of my life with clogged arteries due to the delicious buttery butterfly wine sauce, but it was worth it! The staff at the bar were very professional and courteous and I waited less than 10 mins for my meal. The fish was barramundi and very good, just a little salty. Very good restaurant meal and friendly staff.

Had a roomservice steak burger tonight and it is up there as one of the best burgers of my life. If you're after good pub grub you have found your place

Had a birthday dinner there. First impressions were good, looked a bit classy and the meals were of good size and flavoursome. Will definitely be going back.

Grilled chicken was good and mash and salad sides were fantastic. The mushroom sauce was great too. There was a bit of a wait, but it wasn't that bad. Out of all places I had to enjoy during the past few days of work travel Oak and Vine was the only one I would come back to.

Great place, quiet, food was
Lovely. Slow service at the start.. few patrons kept asking for service.. instead of staff coming to tables.
All in all "Chante" was very pleasant.
Unfortunately don't they don't serve Prosecco or Bubbly wine..

Dined here for the first time this evening. The service was average at best, except for one lovely girl who was at the service desk.
The food took about 45 minutes to arrive and 3 out of the 4 orders were wrong - one of which had to be sent back and then still came out wrong. The drink (which cost $19) was nice but had way too much blue curacao.
It's a pity considering the hotel itself has been lovely to stay in.

DECENT RESTAURANT ON MAIN STREET IN GLADSTONE
The Oak and Vine is part of the Oaks Hotel and is a reasonable option for dinner and drinks. There are a couple of al fresco benches that can be nice in the warm weather. Food is fairly typical "pub fare" and the menu has a good selection.
People with mobility issues will be fine as it is all on one level with no steps.

After being seated, I sat waiting for over twenty minutes to have my order taken. No one Was interested in taking my order.
I suggest you try somewhere else.
