We were pleasantly surprised by the bistro food. Very tasty and well cooked. Easy to order and quick to arrive... I'd recommend the sticky date pudding. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We have dined out at the Ocean Grove bowling club on numerous occasions and the food has always been good quality. The discounted seniors lunches were of the same high-standard as the regular meals although the portions were smaller to reflect the reduced prices. Unfortunately the senior meals have now been discontinued.
Last night we attended the Ocean Grove Bowling Club for dinner after an interval of 12 months with a couple of overseas visitors and we did not enjoy out meal.
The menu was very limited and after much deliberation - we ended-up ordering roast lamb. The meat was tough and lacked flavour and the food was not well presented as it was served-up in a bowl instead of a plate. Unlike previous occasions, the meal did not come with flavour enhancing accompaniments such as mint jelly.
This is intended to be a constructive criticism.

We had our 60th Wedding Anniversary at the Ocean grove bowling club on 30/12/2023 in a function room for approximately 50 guests,the finger food canapés were excellent 6 cold varieties and 2 hot canapés.
The drinks were adequate for our needs,beer was cold,soft drinks for non drinkers,great choice of wines.
The staff did a marvelous job in supplying food,clearing the area as needed I like to mention Lachie,Elliot and Anton for great service appreciate and thank all concerned who provided this service,thanks again

We decided to dine at the club Saturday night..l ordered a entree of scallops and chicken tenders with a curry sauce...on arrival to the table the most obvious thing was a how unbelievably tiny the scallops were approximately a five cent piece and how dry and chewy they were🧐...swimming in a sea butter..very disappointing.
The chicken skewers were also underwhelming lacking in flavour ..so for $30.00 my meal was very average..as a person who has spent 30+ years in the hospitality industry l fully understand the pressures of kitchens but you really need to look at the quality of food that you are serving ..please do better.

We celebrated our Christmas break up 36 people. Food was amazing and great value. Anton and the staff went above and beyond.

Today we had the great pleasure, visiting , Our well known , Ocean Grove, Bowls Club, for lunch, Joel and his happy team, have a lovely new menu, we had the Butter Chicken and the Seafood Selection, the meals were perfectly cooked, and hot, the chicken was tender, the rice was fluffy and the flavours were very well balanced, very delicious, the Seafood selection, was fresh, and cooked with care with lots of variety and flavour, the chips were crispy and hot , presentation in both cases was excellent, a most enjoyable experience, at a very good price, we will definitely put this on our list of regular to go to restaurants, Many Thanks.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, welcoming two out-of-towners who wandered in for a meal. I loved my risotto marinara but Pete was disappointed with the meat in his roast. That wouldn't put me off coming again, though, and trying some of the other tempting dishes. Another thing I liked was the fact that the dining room absorbed sound well: it was quite busy, but we could hear each other easily.

We were just relaxing having a beer at quarter past 5, when we were approached but who I assume is the FOH manager who asked if we had a booking, we said we didn’t, he then told us they were booked out and we had to leave soon. Fine. We finished our beers but we were hoping to eat dinner here after a long day at the beach. as we were leaving at least 2/3rds of the entire bistro was empty, so we asked if there was a chance we could grab some food and be out by the hour, this was declined.
Won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone I know. The only positive was our group spent our hundreds of dollars elsewhere.

Stopped in for a sneaky mid week lunch with the family. Food was good and service great. Feed the family of 5 for under $100. Friendly kid environment.

Staff very friendly how ever very disappointing meal for the price $$$ Lamb cutlets with lots of fat not stripped off and not cooked and very small amount of meat. Minimal vegies and to many potatoes. Deep fried prawns over done cold chips very dry. Curry average. Haven’t been for a while and won’t be rushing back.

Our Probus group enjoyed a wonderful lunch mid-week. Terrific menu (don't know how they keep prices soooo reasonable) food beautifully plated up & delicious. Staff fabulous. Round tables so we could all chat.

Ordered a scotch fillet steak and for that price was not worth it at all. No flavour, overcooked and tough. Bland runny sauces as well (pepper and the mushroom one). Was a let down.

No chefs specials on menu, apparently new menu, first time dining here for dinner. There were 3 of us dining two elderly parents and myself,
Both parents had the lamb souvlaki $29.both agreed it could of been warmed up rather than served cold.
The pita bread was cold, lamb was just warm a bit, so neither enjoyed there meal, chips cold, the pita bread could've been toasted or warmed in a oven before assembling with lamb. I had the Quinoa Salad$22. with Thai marinated beef$8. as a add on.
Quinoa Salad was nice with the Thai Marinated Beef it was even better.
Not many options on the menu for dinner service. We won't be back again for dinner unless they change the menu.
Very pricey for cold meals.😒

Lovely venue good food …. Young Brooke was amazing, took us to our seat, took our drink order, then our food order, then brought food to us, took our dessert order and coffee, brought that to us also ……. she was here there and everywhere with a smile ….. we will be back …… lost at the pokies 🙄 lol

Just moved to the area and was looking for somewhere to eat a decent meal. I cannot rate this place highly enough. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with excellent customer service and very helpful staff. The restaurant wait staff were first rate and the food was absolutely amazing. I had the slow cooked lamb shanks and I didn’t even need my knife - the meat just fell off the bones! Incredible. The kids area was great - lots of toys to play! We will be signing up and going very regularly!

I went with a group and we were seated on 4 Round Tables, really good for communicating with each other. A good choice of meals reasonably priced, service was excellent by friendly helpful staff.

It was clean and welcoming. The lady on the front desk is polite and the other staff were amazing. They have gr8 meal choices and the beer was cold.

It was a great place but I ordered the pork belly bites and in the description it said that it was glazed in plum sauce but really it was in a pool of it! There wasn't many options on the menu but still a great place to eat!

I'm a hard marker so that's why the 4-star review. Don't get me wrong It's a high rating from me :) We were there for a new years eve red carpet event. I won't comment about the band... That would run the stars down further.
Fantastic food! the beef was succulent and very delicious! same with the dessert, tasty fresh and a decent change from usual club food.
Amenities were good, the gents toilets took a hammering from a big crowd so I didn't expect great things by 11 pm :)
Our group had a fine time, thanks guys! :)

I could not pick holes in this establishment's customer service, and my ginger and lemongrass tea was delicious. Nonetheless, I ordered risotto and after tasting it, thought to myself: 'There's enough garlic in this to kill every vampire in Asia!' But for the parmesan cheese, it would've been tougher to eat surely.

For a bowls club this place turns out surprisingly good pub food, service is good but the atmosphere of the dining room is slightly impacted by the pa announcements about raffles. If you are in Ocean Grove, hungry and looking for very well executed pub classics then give the bowls club a go.

A table for 4 people. Most enjoyed their meals. I did. Bit noisy with eaters too loud. Enjoyed the new people I met. Would be nice to come on another day but lunch time.
