Laid-back beachside lodges with porches, plus a restaurant & a bar offering a beer garden. Off Route C129, and with direct access to a beach, this restaurant with holiday lodges is 12 km from Adventure Park, Geelong, and 6 km from Ocean Grove Nature Reserve. The relaxed 2 bedroom lodges feature wood paneling, and come with furnished porches, kitchens and bathrooms, as well as bunk beds, lounge/dining areas and flat-screen TVs. We were welcomed by a friendly waitress who informed us that although the restaurant was fully booked, she could seat us outside and put the heaters on.
Upon telling her about my dietary needs, she stated that the chips were gluten free and cooked in a separate fryer - hallelujah!! (For those who are unaware, when gluten free chips are cooked in the same oil as glutinous food, the gluten free chips are contaminated).
Between two adults and two teens, we had two Southern Fried Chicken burger meals (1 GF), two kids Hawaiian pizzas, and 4 drinks.
Around $80 for the whole meal, it was excellent value for money, and service delivered by people who understand the value of great hospitality.

Went here to watch a band. Awesome outside venue, not too crowded. Lots of parking. Staff are very friendly. Venue is very clean. Look forward to going back and trying meals.

We needed lunch after being told by all other pubs in the area that dogs aren't allowed in the Beer Gardens! First time ever in our many travels. We rocked up to the front beer garden with our Cavoodle hoping... I went in and asked to be told dogs not allowed but seeing as it was so quiet we were warmly welcomed. We enjoyed a meal and a drink in beautiful sunshine.

We had a couple of meals there last week. The food was far better than average pub food and the staff were friendly and helpful - even pointing out that the table in front of the fire was empty, which was welcome on a chilly night! We would gladly go back there again.

Was there for steak night. Steak was excellent and juicy at a terrific price.

Was rather abruptly and rudely told by a member of staff that the pub had a no pet policy, while outside not anywhere near other customers. It would help if such a policy was advertised online or at the entry point.

Very tasty food and very well priced. I had the porterhouse steak cooked absolutely perfectly. Good range of beers and wine and reasonably priced menu. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Great space including kids play ground in the massive back beer garden and also a TAB in the front sports bar. We will return!

Very disappointed. Arrived 620, ignored for 30 minutes, went and ordered at the till. Asked an hour later where we were in the queue, told next up. 20 minutes and 20 meals go to 6 tables ask again. Oh, you are next. After a bit of discussion, and we'll refund your meals. 3 meals arrive, 6 go to other tables, finally 4th meal arrives 810.
Fail in initial service
Fail. Lied to me.
Food was great, but 2+ hours for a pub dinner was mad.
When we were served, the only tables eating were second time round.
Might try again, might not

Took our daughter out for birthday lunch and were very disappointed at the lack of meal options and the service. We were told to order using the QR code, had to ask for cutlery when we got our meals. Sat for an hour after we finished our meals and no one bothered to come and clear our plates nor our empty glasses. Other tables around us were left with dirty plates on them also. As someone raised within the pub industry just the lack of service is enough to make me not return.

The steak cut was wonderful, although the salad needed some sort of dressing otherwise it just tasted like a bitter bowl of vegetables. Dessert; sticky date pudding, was to die for - it was too good to be true. Perfect balance of the rich chocolate and a refreshing scoop of ice cream to wash it down.
What I ordered:
() 220gram Grass-fed Eye Fillet, served with chips, salad and your choice of mushroom gravy, pepper gravy, garlic butter (which I chose) or hollandaise sauce.
() Sticky Date pudding with caramel sauce and ice cream.

The men's toilets are in the entrance, not so bad when the door isn't propped open but be prepared to get a nose full of urinal on entry and exit.

The food, service and staff were great but more importantly the beer was cold!!! Definitely recommend this pub for lunch 👍👍

The best service I have had in years. So nice, so personable. Thank-you for a great experience. I booked for a group of 20 and everyone left with a smile on their faces. Outstanding work

So you can get food service on one side of the bar, not the other. They used be ok, but just lost their passion for service - remember the service industry is what pays you.

Service was appalling, at best. We reserved a table for six for 7:00pm (ordered mains at 7:15), and it was 8:20 when we got our food, after many question and hints to the staff. We were never told that there would long wait, as you would expect when it will be awhile. To make this worse, one smaller table, who arrived later, managed to order eat and leave by 8:05. We also noticed that the kitchen was understaffed (3 cooks) compared to the 8 or so waiters/waitresses. We were also disappointing that they said they were very busy but only 1 in 4 tables filled and tables who ordered later got their food earlier. It was clear that they didn’t put in or forgot the order and the fact that they lied is saddening. The food was good to mediocre, and I would also like to advise consumers that the basket of chips is incredibly small.

On a rainy winter night, it's a warm and inviting space. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is great and comes out pretty quickly. Fish and chips very tasty, pork cutlet tender and southern fried chicken burger is delicious. Well worth a visit.

My wife and I had Sunday lunch at the Ocean Grove Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. They have $25 specials each day and Sunday it is their roast, which was delicious.

Meals are very expensive and not great. Over $30 for a below average quality Parma. Cashew salad doesn’t have cashews in it. Not a bad place, but food is expensive for its quality. Good play space for the kids though.

Lovely Pub and keep coming back because they give great service, tastie food and well priced.
My partner had the Mothers Day menu of Barra and Creme Broulay and she raved about it particularly the Broulay as for me I had Garlic bread and Shark half share. The Garlic bread was great and is the best and the shark was also terrific. I was glad of half share which was very generous
All said and done one of the better, down to earth Pubs around!!
Staff here are always courteous, efficient, engaging and professional and tonight was no exception.
Well worth a meal here :):)

I must say this is such a wonderful location but I would love to see the in ground trampolines make a come back. Oh how I yearn to bounce on these wonderful contraptions. The whole family like to bounce. Up and down, up and down!!!!!
Please tell me you’re getting them back. You could do a bounce theme night people from miles around would come for a bounce and a pot.

Had a great dinner @OceanGroveHotel!
🍴Was impressed with the food, went above my expectations.
Had the 1/2 fried chicken 🍗 which was delicious and crispy.
Had the lasagna croquettes which were very nice as well.
💰 Price was reasonable.
🤵 Staff were very attentive and efficient.
🚻 Amenities were okay, need a little attention, they were out of paper towel and the hand dryer wasn't working.
🏎 Loads of parking out the front.
👪 Kid friendly, the kids area is outdoors and limited.

Funky smell in the beer garden, then we moved into the covered area so that we could order something other than pizza and chips. Ordering was by QR code only, and the supplied menu (which differed from the online menu substantially) didn't contain the gummy shark option.
The bar staff argued with me but I stuck to my guns and eventually was allowed to order it at the counter. For $30 I was served the most apallingly abysmal piece of dry, unappetising fish, some chips, and a tiny bowl of salad.
Can't recommend the food, although the entertainment (solo guitarist/singer) was outstanding.

Family birthday dinner. Good value meals. I had a large salad and it was delicious. Friendly staff. A nice atmosphere.

Don’t let the the facade deceive you, beautiful venue inside with great atmosphere. They have a little playground and lots of space for the kids to run around on the grassed area. We ordered kids pizzas, salmon and a Parma, all meals were spot on! Absolutely delicious. Service was brilliant with lovely staff and timely service. Highly recommend! We will be back.
